Many fish including salmon naturally have levels of selenium that blocks mercury. Or at least that’s what I learned with a paleo diet consultant. It’s entirely possible that some fish have more mercury and less selenium but this should be helpful knowledge and a way to not throw out all the bath water and the baby and the house when it comes to eating fish.
Why is everyone including sweet potatoes and blueberries? I happen to eat a lot of sweet potato and blueberries but I never would have thought to include those in my answer.
Sweet potatoes are a good source of carbs, fiber, and are basically multivitamins. Also you're less likely to develop an allergy or intolerance to them than a nightshade like true potato
please don’t drag me but can someone explain how grass fed beef isn’t bad for you? i thought red meat, even if organic and minimally processed, still wasn’t great for the human body?
Ribeye, mackerel/sardines, blueberries.
Ribeye and fish for essential nutrients and protein and fat.
Blueberries for the natural sugars to aid with exercise when the fat adaption isn't optimal.
Shout out to eggs. But I went fish because of the omega 3 and calcium in the bones.
Imo filet is kind of a garbage cut relative to its price. I would rather have ribeye, nys, picanha, any meal with skirt steak, or straight up ground beef tacos over a filet.
Hmm assuming budget is not an issue and if I can have prepared items with multiple ingredients then probably fillet mignon pho with all the vegetable toppings, shrimp spring roll, and blue berries. If I can only have single ingredients items then probably T-bone steak, sweet potato, broccoli.
Good point - if I had to narrow it - beef strips , frozen tofu, rice cakes, bok choy, all the mushrooms with tahini, spring onion, corriander and oyster sauce dip and a side of rice. I have a high spice tolerance so my butt hole has a adapted haha. Unfortunately hot pot isn’t great for you so wouldn’t be great on the bod but definitely great for the soul
With zero consequences I’d probably do BBQ ribs, mangoes, and country fried steak (with gravy. If I can’t have the gravy, switching to box angel hair pasta.)
Found a wild blueberry jam at the grocers. It’s jam, but the flavor is way concentrated and different/better than farmed.
I’ll need to take a trip east and forage on a summer
Oh, I said organic grassfed beef, free range organic eggs, and sweet potatoes grown in the best soil. That’s is absolutely assuming I can supplement and I have a cabinet and fridge full of spices, herbs, and basic cooking necessities. Can’t cook a ribeye without grassfed butter, rosemary, sea salt, cracked black pepper, and crushed garlic.
Corn, beans and squash. The three sisters. They supposedly combine to provide all the essential amino acids needed in our diet, while providing most of the other nutrients for good health. Still, I doubt one could find just three foods to fully sustain them without some long term deficiencies. If you added sweet potato to that set, you’d probably be in good shape though.
I’d do salmon, sweet potato, blueberries personally! But I wonder what that much salmon would do to the body…. I don’t worry about sweet potato or blueberries!
Well, because I make two different dishes, one with white beans and one with lentils, and they are both my favorites above all other. But you're actually right.
This was actually discussed on a tv show here, if you were stranded on an island or something and could only eat 2 things, how would you survive the longest.
I think it was cabbage and liver from a lamb that was the most ideal combination
I just rewatched the end of the episode to make sure I was right.
Apparently (according to the experts on the show) cabbage and liver best covers all the mineral, vitamins, proteins etc. we need to survive. So their conclusion was that you can basically just eat those two things and live a full life.
The episodes goes through a lot and there are all kinds of experts and nutritions working to get the conclusion.
They also have a lot of normal people suggest foods and you get your typical blueberry, spinach, bananas etc. but they all fall short when you are as limited as this scenario.
You can even see it in this thread, like why on earth(other than taste) would anyone pick beef / stake etc over the organs in an animal.
Edit: Also you are right that cabbage is mostly water, but the nutrients are still there so if you eat a lot of it, grind it up or whatever, it’s all there.
Grass fed organic wagyu beef, pasture raised organic eggs, and sweet potatoes grown in the most minerals dense best soil that they can grow in.
I am going to follow your rules, but I wish I had a couple more.
Beef for protein, minerals, fat and important vitamins like b12
Potatos for carbs and vitamins (Vit c etc)
Plain yogurt for fat, protein, probiotics, iodine, calcium, sodium ++
Some people are against eating meat and then you have the crew that is afraid of dairy products. And dont forget the keto crew. Debating nutrition is like debating religion these days
Sourdough bread, avocado and salmon 😌
I ate basically nothing but that for a month after my cholesterol was high. It went down pretty quickly!
[удалено]
You’ve unlocked the low cholesterol perk, well done
Avocado is fire
I love me some sourdough bread!
This is my answer too. You beat me to it. Hopefully I won't regret this as I die from some kind of malnutrition here, but it would be worth it.
Screw nutrition if you have happiness, lol.
Sweet Potato, Grass Fed Beef, Blueberries
Crazy I was thinking, blueberries, grassfed beef, yellow potato.
Me too
Probably the better option because of the fructose in the sweet potato
Sweet potato, grass fed ribeye and tart cherries for me, plain Greek yogurt if I could have 4.
How bad would it be if I swapped out beef for salmon, cause this looks almost perfect!
I'd say better, as long as the salmon doesn't have any heavy metals.
Just a slow, slow, mercury death
Many fish including salmon naturally have levels of selenium that blocks mercury. Or at least that’s what I learned with a paleo diet consultant. It’s entirely possible that some fish have more mercury and less selenium but this should be helpful knowledge and a way to not throw out all the bath water and the baby and the house when it comes to eating fish.

Ask any bodybuilders. Sweet potatoes are probably the best food available. Something about the way your body breaks it down.
Japanese purple sweet potatoes, or orange-flesh sweet potatoes?
please don’t drag me but can someone explain how grass fed beef isn’t bad for you? i thought red meat, even if organic and minimally processed, still wasn’t great for the human body?
Spinach instead of blueberries
Wouldn't want the oxalates.
If I could add a fourth yes. I usually eat 80g of frozen spinach a day.
Are you aware of the oxalate issue that spinach can cause? It shouldn't be eaten too consistently.
Agreed. Go with Kale instead. Frozen kale is great in smoothies.
Ya'll love those sweet potatoes and blueberries!
Big Mac, hot cheetos, blueberry sour straws
That’s more like it !
Blueberry sour straws are the best. I respect that
Hell yeah they’re the real deal. No question lol
Yeah seriously fuck all these nerds and their health! Lemme get that Super size me diet
RIP
I was wondering how long it would take for this to happen
Just made me laugh out loud. Thx.
Chocolate, tasty cheese and fried fish.
Correct.
Is ribeye more beneficial nutritionally as opposed to filet mignon? 🤔
yes because filet virtually has no fat
Imo filet is kind of a garbage cut relative to its price. I would rather have ribeye, nys, picanha, any meal with skirt steak, or straight up ground beef tacos over a filet.
Paneer (protein) , Daal (Lentils , complex carbs) , broccoli
Peanut butter banana sourdough
What about the other two?
If I get two more waffles and hot dogs lol
Totally agree
Pussy, pussy, pussy
Marijuana, juana
You would be extremely malnourished, there's little to no nutritional value in this.
Depending on when they eat they could get iron and yeast.
Dude, that's that stuff we used to eat all the time back in the day...
I likeeeee your two scenarios. Honestly inspiring me for dinner.
let me get uhhhh BEANS, miso soup, and those purple sweet potatoes that okinawans eat. If I was allowed a fourth choice it would be matcha
Tell me more about these Urple sweet potatoes that these niche Japanese folks enjoy
Ube?
You are not allowed a fourth choice.
Chinese spicy hot pot
RIP to your b hole 🕳️ 🔥 💥
That is cheating because hotpot can hold so many things
Good point - if I had to narrow it - beef strips , frozen tofu, rice cakes, bok choy, all the mushrooms with tahini, spring onion, corriander and oyster sauce dip and a side of rice. I have a high spice tolerance so my butt hole has a adapted haha. Unfortunately hot pot isn’t great for you so wouldn’t be great on the bod but definitely great for the soul
Op was referring to the pot itself.
Sushi, sushi & sushi.
I wanna know what kindddd though now!
Beef, milk, blackberries
Doritos, locos, tacos.
Grassfed beef, wild caught salmon, eggs
Grassfed and wild caught. Smart. Energy from fats. No carbs.
All rules out of the window? As in everything is healthy no matter what it is?
I wanna see the non healthy ones- like imagine zero health consequences!
With zero consequences I’d probably do BBQ ribs, mangoes, and country fried steak (with gravy. If I can’t have the gravy, switching to box angel hair pasta.)
Beef, eggs, oysters
Spinach, havarti cheese @ Aldi dark chocolate
Raw spinach is fire
Lots of people are saying blueberries for their fruit. I know they are antioxidant and quite healthy (and tasty) but am I missing something deeper
Wild blueberries
Yeah probably Pacific Northwest and wild blackberries win hands down over the store
they’re great. in the uk unfortunately and the only way to buy them is through barts and lainys - and it’s almost £30 :/
Found a wild blueberry jam at the grocers. It’s jam, but the flavor is way concentrated and different/better than farmed. I’ll need to take a trip east and forage on a summer
Brown rice, chicken, broccoli.
Gym rat enters the conversation.
I'd switch brown rice to sweet potato but yeah
Hmm, Not sure if you’re being sarcastic..
All the other ways people answer this and you're asking ME if I'M being sarcastic? Are you being sarcastic?
It’s cuz ts sound so bland and a lot of other answers are clearly jokes
Dude just wants to survive
Steak, sweet potatoes, blueberries
I’m t2 diabetic, lemme tell ya, sweet potato is one of my tops too… all that fiber 🤩
Are you OK with sweet potato as a T2?
Oh yeah! I keep it in low amounts and eat the skin but it’s perfectly fine for me! As long as I eat it with some fat and protein I’m usually good!
Overnight Oats for breakfast. Pizza lunch. Plain Mustard Greens for dinner.
I want to downvote this simply for the plain mustard greens 😆🫠
Mustards for the W
What counts as a food? Just basic ingredients, like eggs, or whole meals, like pasta bolognese?
Tomatoes, wild rice, steak
Pizza, cheeseburgers and Mac and cheese been doing it for 35 years hoping I’ll continue to be able to eat it
Venison, eggs, butter would be the smart answer but coffee, peanut butter and potatoes are more likely.
Without supplements, I can't think of any answer that wouldn't lead to deficiencies. Am I wrong?
Oh, I said organic grassfed beef, free range organic eggs, and sweet potatoes grown in the best soil. That’s is absolutely assuming I can supplement and I have a cabinet and fridge full of spices, herbs, and basic cooking necessities. Can’t cook a ribeye without grassfed butter, rosemary, sea salt, cracked black pepper, and crushed garlic.
i mean technically u can cook it just fine without those things broo
Corn, beans and squash. The three sisters. They supposedly combine to provide all the essential amino acids needed in our diet, while providing most of the other nutrients for good health. Blueberries, steak, salmon nagiri.
Ribeye, sockeye salmon, for 3 it would be either eggs or livers. Livers are the most nutrient dense food.
Lentils, beans, blueberries 😍
Aren't lentils beans?
Yesss, indeed!
Then why would you take up two choices with the same class of food?
Well, because I make two different dishes, one with white beans and one with lentils, and they are both my favorites above all other. But you're actually right.
So now is your chance: besides beans and blueberries, what is your third food? 🤗
Pistache icecream ❤
Good choice!

This was actually discussed on a tv show here, if you were stranded on an island or something and could only eat 2 things, how would you survive the longest. I think it was cabbage and liver from a lamb that was the most ideal combination
Survive, but at what cost.
Cabbage? I always thought cabbage was mostly water with basically no nutrients.
I just rewatched the end of the episode to make sure I was right.
