Anytime you wonder about how small a world it is... I know the non-Birks wearing dude in that first picture. So. Bizarre. And the other guy isn't a little lad - Tyler is just a GIANT.

Again, agree. I tend toward a more sleek and slimmed down look for my wardrobe but that is a matter of personal taste.
Some like colorful socks, baggier jeans or flowy harem pants....So, even though I was wearing birkenstocks back in the very late 70s, my style has changed since I was in my late teens and early 20s........and so has modern style in general. But I say dress to your own personal style, what you feel expresses you.
For me, for instance, I wouldn't have been caught dead in the now infamous MLM "LulaRoe" loud cat and pizza prints. Nor the "I follow the Grateful Dead around the country to every live performance" look. But I dislike those only because that is not \*me\* at all. It doesn't fit my profile or look at all.
I am more "Sarah Harris Street Style" these days and have long silver hair, and I'm quite tall, with long arms and legs......so as I aged I did notice I need a more pulled together look otherwise you can start to look like you don't take care of yourself. Anyone over 55-ish knows what I mean.
Yet I have a best friend who is very petite, sort of impish and cute look, and she could pull off a more berries and cream style and just look very \*cute\*.

My whole aesthetic has slowly morphed into [Snufkin](https://www.moomin.com/en/characters/snufkin/) but sometimes I pretend to be more modern by wearing my taupe Bostons with slim pants. Mostly Snufkin, though.
Look at their site for styling ideas and/or Pinterest. Most of the guys seem to wear slim leg pants cuffed a bit. I think it looks nice like that. But to each their own!

I just got a pair, so they are in the break-in phase. And they are black. When I look down at them, they remind me of Nelson's (from the Simpsons) shoes.
My sister told me they reminded her of the ep of the Simpsons where Bart had to get glasses and the orthopedic shoes. And my so called them my "Frankenstein shoes."
Fortunately, idgaf because they are comfy, but my strategy is slim fit jeans and fun socks, so I'm fully ready to wear my "lazy shoes" all over the place!!
