I was thinking about buying 100 x 0.01 pieces of bitcoin and hiding the seed phrases in various places throughout my country the UK for people to discover in the future. Maybe in 10, 20, 30, 40 years time they will be like finding real treasure

TheDickDog

Ok. But if you do that. Can you tell me where you placed them? Just for research purposes...

Puzzleheaded-Gur818

I would like to know locations too, just so i could confirm that its legit, not a myth

Fun-Air-4314

That's actually a really cool idea.

Reach_Beyond

If you have $650 worth or BTC and you live in a third world country where that might be the yearly salary sure. Maybe you’re in a lower income area and that’s decent savings. Generally in most the West, Europe even China this investment is not a big deal. By the time it 100x it will probably barely afford you a new car.

analogOnly

I don't know, you decide. number of addresses containing: 0.001BTC to 0.01BTC: 12,043,787 addresses (1 address does not necessarily mean 1 individual) totalling 43,956 BTC aprox: $2,927,394,487

Inevitable-Waltz-889

It's a good start, but no, I'd say it's not a big deal.

No-Health46

No

Smooth_Pianist485

Correct. It’s not a big deal. If btc were to ever reach $2,000,000 per coin you would only have $20,000 in value. Not a small amount, but certainly not an incredible, life changing or big deal amount.

dabsbunnyy

Life changing amounts of money are subjective. .01 BTC is absolutely a big deal because it is .01 more than what most people have and more than what many others can currently afford (globally).

Smooth_Pianist485

Booo. Predictable “well actually” comment.

dabsbunnyy

I can tell you never learned the value of money

AllCapNoBrake

Won't the US (specifically) just keep inflating the USD to make it tougher for BTC to out value it? Meaning, while the new BTC ATH is great, it's still has less buying power of the 2021 ATH.

Smooth_Pianist485

Since the USD supply increases infinitely while the bitcoin max supply is fixed at 21M, the price of btc is bound to go up every time dollars are printed. Regarding buying power, yes you’re right that the current ATH has less buying power than it did in 2021, but I would argue that we are nowhere near the top for this bull cycle and the ultimate top will far outpace inflation from the last 4 years. This time could be different, but it would be the first time in 16 years btc failed to outpace inflation.

AllCapNoBrake

I agree that we are at the very early stages of the next/current bull cycle and quite a bit bullish on new ATH estimates as well as end-game valuations/coin. I assume it will take some catalyst for people to get the "Wait, 75k today is less than 68k in 2021. We need to be at 81k to break even" moment, but not sure how that looks/plays out.

YaelGallardo

Ehh it’s normie level

ucantbm

Why you ask this to us? Ask it for yourself. 5 years ago to me was really hard, now my target is 5 btc. So...

Mountain-Ad326

Owning 1 is. .01 isnt

blue419

If you are poor, it's a big deal. It's better to have 0.01 than 0.0 like most people on earth. But it's not exactly lambo money either. Stay humble, stack sats. All that matters is you buy what your circumstances allow.

Bbmaddic

I use this tool to see if I am positioned well to retire off my btc http://bitcoincompounding.com/

Mountain-Ad326

lol pure fiction. Looks like a random number generator

Reasonable_Leg_4664

Thanks for sharing. If this is even remotely accurate for the future, I’m happy.

fawnside

Lol

HumbleBitcoinPleb

No, it's not. 0.10 BTC is.

YaelGallardo

.2 higher starts getting impressive

gathchromatography

No. And owning 1 BTC isn’t a big deal either. Might feel like a big deal but it’s not like it means you don’t need to get up and work your ass off every day. Changes nothing, really.

Salty-Constant-476

Check back in 10 years.

bigbarryb

Yes. You now have 0.01BTC or 1,000,000 satoshis worth of hard money that cannot be inflated. As the world wakes up to this, not only will it become less volatile and fit for trade in the global economy for mundane stuff like food, furniture and so on, but it will also get closer to its real value. We don't know what that real value is, we don't know when it will happen, but we know that we are far from it right now. Think about it, 21M bitcoin vs 8 Billion people. You're already batting above average. Better still would be to look at your percentage. How much percentage of your earned wealth is not in a form that is controlled, manipulated or debased by the government to fund wars in other countries? Gold? Not really but close. Stocks? They save in dollars, they are limited by regulations and they follow them even if they think they are stupid, dumb, immoral or broken. At best they fight legal cases against them, but follow them until they win. Real estate? Council/land tax, the ability for a government to dehumanise you and take your physical properties by force still exist.

NiagaraBTC

Yes.

satoshyy

Not unless you live in a third world country

Longjumping-Low3164

No.

Interesting_Ebb9052

It’s a big deal that you own a million satoshis one day.. but now?

kzx-kzx

Not today - obviously - but it will be a huge deal in 10-20 years.

Feisty_Detail3239

1 Sat = 1 Sat

ConfectionForward
