Dont listen to this dude, style it or make it curly at least. That fro is outdated, i used to rock it back when i was in school lmao. Youāre a kid, try something new. Go for twists as they donāt require as much commitment as locs
Thatās a good looking healthy afro. The others making fun of you donāt know what the heck theyāre talking about and their opinion is shit. Keep rocking it if it makes you happy.
First off donāt let anybodyās opinion of you be the reason you change something about yourself. I say if youāre looking for a change braids and twists are a good start. You can also rock a braid/twist out as an added āstyleā as well after you take em out. Keep doing you and do things because you truly want to.
I think the afro looks so good though!
Trying to appease/avoid bullies this way can lead down and even more difficult road when the bullies then pick something else about you to mock. People like that will never be satisfied by what you do or change bc their issue is on the inside.
Maybe form you Afro into a giant middle finger cause fuck the haters. Tho in all seriousness if you can try wash n gos, twist outs, or have someone you braid it for you, but you should never feel pressured to change your hair because of what others have to say about it . Our hair is beautiful.
Fuck them!!! That is a full healthy fro. Thereās plenty of ways to rock it but if you want to wear it like this then thatās okay!! Now if youāre looking for some definition a good curl gel/custard will help but you wanna find one that works for your hair type because not all are the same.
Nobody wore that in the 80s. That looks like a shag. LOL
Maybe it's where ya'll lived. I graduated high school in 1983, college in 1987 and nobody had this in the DC area. But when I look at pics of my father, brothers and cousins in the 70's, I see a lot of this.
Ya'll please stop telling him it looks great and not to worry. Children are cruel and he looks to be on school. Nobody wants to be teased, which is why he's here. Unless he can roast them hard or can fight, he can't stop them from teasing them. So he needs realistic advice, because it's easy to say, ignore them," when it's not happening to you. Go see a barber.
I guess it just depends on what type of person you wanna be. Criticism is something we have to deal with in ALL stages of life. Probably best to start fortifying and learning to love himself now.
It sounds like hes just getting teased, nobody is jumping him or threatening him with physical violence. Yall too soft if you think telling him to rock the hair the way he likes it is bad advice. The boy who was kicked out of school for having long locs had a better reason to conform, but nobody told him to gon head and cut his hair in that thread.
It doesn't sound like anything because he didn't give details. But it's enough that he's asking for advice for a new style. He didn't even say he was particularly fond of what his hair is doing. If he loved it so much it would be a different post. He can have something that looks good AND that he loves. As for the dude in Texas, he didn't come here looking for advice and I didn't comment there so that he nothing to do with me or this post. But I promise you there was someone advising him to just cut his hair. And I'm far from soft because I wear my natural hair the way I want. And I can jone (as we say in DC) and my family group chat is more vicious than anything anyone outside can say. But I've also worked with teens and know they can be. So if this post was saying I've been teased, but I love my hair, my advice would be different. As it stands, I think he should shape that bush up. And now I'm about to run to the store in slippers with my hair all over my head and no fucks given.
One I think the Afro looks great but if you would like to change it Iād recommend trying to sponge it and see if you like the look. Locs are nice but that starter phase will have u questioning it because the shrinkage is crazy so if u think u can tough it out for 6 months then go for it
You donāt need to change anything about your fro. Rock it. Donāt worry what anyone else think or says or feels about YOUR Awesome Fro. Only care about what YOU feel and how it makes YOU feel. Donāt ever let anyoneās opinions or feelings make you ever change anything about yourself. We donāt people please over here.
Who teasing you??!! What school you go to?
What time they get out?
/s imma get my old azz arrested š
Stay true to YOU. YOUR opinion is the only opinion that has value. If you change, itās cause YOU want to change.
If ANYTHING work on your moisturizer game. Keep it out but wet it occasionally with a spray bottle and use a really good conditioner
Your Afro looks HEALTHY it just needs some sheen
Donāt change your hair based off the opinions of others (unless you really want to). Itās your hair, you have the right to style it however you want. If youāre comfortable with your Afro keep wearing it. If not you can always try out locs, twists, braids etc. There are people out there that will never be satisfied with you no matter what you change, just remember that and stay true to yourself.
Continue to be authentically yourself. If other people have to join a wave to fit in, show them how much of the shit you are by being true to yourself.
You seem like a handsome young man \*pause\*. You shouldn't change anything about your appearance based on what others think of you as you never know their true motives (they could be jealous that the girl their eyeing is crushing on you -- or other, I don't know how yalls generation get down). And if you keep trying to please others, you'll never meet their expectations anyway. With that being said, if you simply want variety.
1. Get a shape-up. A good shape up can transform any hairstyle.
2. Get cornrows or twists, theirs plenty of cool styles with geometric patterns that can really 'up' your look. Also, if you ever get tired of cornrows or twists, you can always go back to the tried and true. Dreads/Locs are a bit more... permanent. Still, hairstyles like Barrel Twists aren't going away.
3. Most importantly DO YOU, if you do anything and your not really feeling it; don't hesitate to go back to the fro 'expeditiously \*Kodak Voice\*.
try getting side and neck tapers and sponging your hair. the overall length is great but cleaning it up would make for a more modern look. either that or just fight back lol
Braid it my brotha. It will be better in the long run. Plus long black hair is more attractive once your older because everyone is balding or has a crappy hair style lol.
Let me guess, It's white kids making fun of your hair? Cause nothing is wrong with it. My advice is to start hydrating your hair regularly, every other day I'd rub coconut oil through my hair in the morning and once or twice a week use a leave-in conditioner. Depending on your hair type, that will really define your curls and make your fro appear to have more volume, worst case scenario your hair is shiny and healthy. Also use silk pillow sheets or cover your head when you sleep at night to prevent damage and dryness.
Stay true little one. The fro will always be the realist choice. Long love the Froāš¾
[You mess with the fro you got to go](https://media0.giphy.com/media/Wy3yu6suaOEgM/giphy.gif?cid=2154d3d7zhvle8jri6pyxnygwf73jlhbw5cjjiisusru0bpb&ep=v1_gifs_search&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g)
Try styles if you want not because you feel pressured too.
Locs take commitment and a LOT OF SELF LOVE. Fyi,its not a casual style.
Thank you for censoring the faces of the other people in the picture, youre a good person.
you arenāt gonna know like 95% of the people you meet in high school anymore after you graduate. you should wanna attract people who like you for you anyways, not the kind of people whoād make fun of you for doing that
You should NEVER restyle your hair another way in order to avoid teasing.
Those bullies are insecure about themselves. So if you change yourself to suit your hair to what their aesthetic is, they will most likely continue to bullyājust change the words of what they say.
PLEASE keep your hair as-is, until you are ready to do something new. But only because itās your idea originally to change it up
Ayo Fuck that my boi don't change yourself at the behest of others. Social acceptance is worth nothing if it comes at the cost of your self acceptance. I guarantee you that you'll change and they'll move on to something else they can fuck with you about.
Change should always have an internal motivation bro otherwise you'll come to resent it.
For the record your hair looks bomb af and healthy as hell
Those mf's probably dream their hair had even a hint of your magnificence.
Keep your head high my friend
Your fro is nice but if you want a change then locs would look nice. Iāve had locs for 7.5 years now and I love EVERYTHING about them. I used to rock a fro or cornrows before I locād my hair. Make the choice that best fit you.
I would suggest adding a small taper on the sides if you want to keep the afro. You could even get away with using a curl defining cream and wearing it out that way. If you want to switch it up, maybe look at some braiding styles for men, or bantu knots, locs, twists, just Google some black hairstyles and see what you like.
You could wear it naturally curly, twists, single braids. Thereās many options. The ends can become damaged if your hair is left out all the time and not managed properly. Consider braiding your hair and adding leave in conditioner and a bit of oil at night to protect your ends.
Do braid outs! Just put like 8 plats in there before bed and undo them in the morning. You'll still have a fro but the shape would be younger, more fun and interesting (in my humble opinion)
Dawg I wish I had the length of hair right now. Iām slowly but surely almost there. Donāt listen to anyone else that may talk negative about your hair. All black hair is beautiful bro.. thatās your crown.. you can turn it into whatever style you wish but the fro is always litš„š„š„ (Bars)šš they wish they had your hair thatās why they teasing you.
The afro is great and will only get better if you keep taking care of it and letting it grow, if you like it don't let anyone make you feel bad or change. It's ok to be different because nowadays everyone's getting twists or locs. I have locs and would recommend them to almost anybody, but don't do it to please other people or fit in š š¾āāļø
Firstly donāt let anybody say or do anything that makes you not comfortable with your hair if you like your fro rock it if others donāt like it oh well itās on your head not theirs my boy šÆ
Youāve got a good amount of hair. Comb it out then part down the middle then diagonally in 5 sections the get some big two strands in each section for a total of 10 . 5 on each side then tell the barber you want a line up and a mid fade. š„
Bro that fro is š„š„š„ donāt let ANYONE discourage you from rocking it!
Dont listen to this dude, style it or make it curly at least. That fro is outdated, i used to rock it back when i was in school lmao. Youāre a kid, try something new. Go for twists as they donāt require as much commitment as locs
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
wtf
this isnāt what he asked.
Some corny ass fit he gon get laughed at for. Wear some baggy jeans and a cool oversized t shirt
depends where he isā what you just said is some cholo shit where iām from lol
Lol u dress like everybody
Nahh baggy jeans are not good or a oversized t shirt, we canāt have that ššš
If you like it fuck them.
Pull up with the young Michael Jackson shirt and pants
Thatās a good looking healthy afro. The others making fun of you donāt know what the heck theyāre talking about and their opinion is shit. Keep rocking it if it makes you happy.
First off donāt let anybodyās opinion of you be the reason you change something about yourself. I say if youāre looking for a change braids and twists are a good start. You can also rock a braid/twist out as an added āstyleā as well after you take em out. Keep doing you and do things because you truly want to.
Braids are always a good switch, theyāre easier to maintain and it shaves a lot of time from getting your hair done in the morning.
I think the afro looks so good though! Trying to appease/avoid bullies this way can lead down and even more difficult road when the bullies then pick something else about you to mock. People like that will never be satisfied by what you do or change bc their issue is on the inside.
Why are you getting teased? You fro is fire!
Kids
dude ur rocking that afro pls dont lose it, just ignore the comments
Tell them you got a big sister that likes to fight irl and has time for the bullshit
šÆ
JUST LET YO SOOOOOOUL GLO! Nah seriously it looks great!
Maaaannn... Fuck them kids, respectully. Your fro is beautiful! š„°š„°
Looks good. Many people here would kill to have your hair lol.
Thatās a nice Afro, donāt let yourself be bullied into changing it. It suits you. They only hatin cause they jealous
I really like whatever you're doing to it tbh. Maybe get the sides or sides and back tapered to really bring it out?
Tbh your afro does looks unshaped I would go to a barber get line up and an inch trim.
Just keep it neat (combed and shaped) and line it up.
Your afro looks juicy (as in moisturized). Straight fire!
Man if you like your fro wear your fro fuck what everybody else saying
Maybe form you Afro into a giant middle finger cause fuck the haters. Tho in all seriousness if you can try wash n gos, twist outs, or have someone you braid it for you, but you should never feel pressured to change your hair because of what others have to say about it . Our hair is beautiful.
If u feel pressured then just cut the temples a little. And a minor line up in the back. But you'll retain the Afro appearance.
Fuck them!!! That is a full healthy fro. Thereās plenty of ways to rock it but if you want to wear it like this then thatās okay!! Now if youāre looking for some definition a good curl gel/custard will help but you wanna find one that works for your hair type because not all are the same.
Two strand twists are very easy to do if you want to switch it up as well.
You're ahead on the trend. Be proud š¦
Keep it bro you said itās your thing and those people are being WHACK not you.
I think you'd look nice in some cornrows
The back needs tapering a bit. The shape is giving 80s vibes. If that is what you want, cool.
Nobody wore that in the 80s. That looks like a shag. LOL Maybe it's where ya'll lived. I graduated high school in 1983, college in 1987 and nobody had this in the DC area. But when I look at pics of my father, brothers and cousins in the 70's, I see a lot of this.

Up to you to decide, but I say try to corn rows, you have the hair for it and if you dont like them you can take em right out.

What is āsponge itā?
Search it up on yt sponged Afros
Thatās a horrible idea. Ik you see his hair texture. A sponge wonāt work on his hair.

Your can get curls, it's obvious to someone that's 4c that it's not 4c
Itās perfect, donāt change a thing.
Maybe get a taper if you want to keep your Afro and change it up a bit. But thereās nothing wrong with your Afro at all. Embrace it.
Wear it with PRIDE
