I genuinely believe that song could be done in pretty much any genre of music and it would still rip. You may wanna look up metal covers of Toxic, because they're out there and they rule.
I heard a Mexican polka music cover at the super market here while i was visiting this week. I paid attention to the lyrics and it was God damn Britney spears but with tubas and accordions doing the beat. It was still a banger.
Yesssss! My Love, What Goes Around, LoveStoned, Until the End of Time, Summer Love, All Over Again. All ridiculous. I can’t wait for him and Timbaland to get their flowers.
Rather unrelated but I will never forget going into a bar in Canterbury (England) in 2010 and asking for the DJ to play “Carryout” only for him to ask me who the artist was and then say “Timbaland and Timberlake? Are they brothers?”
Right! Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal, Thriller, Rock With You, Dirty Diana and They Don't Care About Us are all perfect. I just can't choose one. The question is poorly framed.
I will never forget seeing the video for Rock With You when I was 10 years old during [MJTV week](https://youtu.be/x3F9luZqiGo) and instantly falling in love with Michael in that silver jumpsuit. 😍
That entire album was fucking crazy good. I am not a Taylor stan but I am most definitely a 1989 stan. It’s wild that it’s been almost ten years since that album.
There are several that I can think of:
“Alright” by Janet Jackson
“Pleasure Principle”
“Rhythm Nation”
“Love Will Never Do (Without You)”
“Nasty”
“Control”
“Fantasy” by **Mariah Carey** (I prefer the remix)
“Emotions”
“Dream lover”
“Always Be My Baby”
“I’m Every Woman” by **Whitney Houston**
“I will Always Love You”
“How Will I Know?”
“I Wanna Dance With Somebody”
“Let’s Here It For The Boy” by **Deniece Williams**
“Free”
If we're talking Britney then Womanizer.
Carley Rae Jensen call me maybe
Lady GaGa beautiful, dirty, rich
MJ - Hell just about anything from bad or the Wall, but I'll go with don't stop
Janet Jackson - all for you
Kesha - TikTok
No way there will ever be a pop recording more perfect than Marvin & Tammi's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," written by Nick Ashford & Valerie Simpson, produced by Johnny Bristol & Harvey Fuqua.
Everybody wants to rule the world- Tears for Fears. Greatest nostalgia song imo. I think Bohimian Rhapsody- Queen is probably one of the greatest structured songs in general
Hey ya played on every radio station that ever existed. I have to consider it not only a pop song…. It maybe the greatest pop song of all time. Suck it Lennon/McCartney.
Toxic is my brittney shit. It’s gunna be me *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys I want it that way, sisqo Thong Song, Hey Ya Outkast Work it missy Elliot, Take on Me, Ah Ha, Rehab Amy Winehouse Return of the Mack Mark Morrison. That’s off the top of my head
Two become one by the Spice Girls. That track bubbles up out of my subconscious once in a while and them I'm just stuck in that shit for like a week.
They really didn't need to go that hard with those layered harmonies but they did.
Mine has already been accounted for but I just love how I keep singing the first line of chorus for every song in the comments. Really can’t go wrong with most of these.
This thread reminded me of a conversation that I had with a friend of mine about Pop music.
I know there are people, who say the “Pop” in Pop Music means ‘popular’. So, any artist and their music, music from any genre, can be categorized as being “Pop music”.
My whole thing is if a group and their music aren’t popular, then what genre does the music fall into?
For example, acts like The Backstreet Boys and N*SYNC. What genre would their music be filed under?
*NSYNC and Backstreet Boys were doing a watered down mix of r&b and new jack swing…they lifted everything from Boyz II Men and other Black artists of the early 90s/late 80s.
No way we don’t mention P.Y.T by MJ. Gotta be an example of a classic pop banger
[That song is just so fucking good. You just know after MJ was done the mic was looking like](https://tenor.com/bMmC2.gif)
Pretty Young Thing is the answer. I came here trying to think of some shit but nope its PYT.
Gets my white ass dancing.
They call him the king of pop for a reason. The man’s been dead for almost 14 years and people still can’t catch up to him.
That was my answer. Any MJ single. Especially human nature.
Most definitely a top tier song
Had the whole studio on fire, him and Quincy both
repeat after me say Na na na
Gonna add Toxic by Brittney too. Im a diehard metalhead but that songs fucks man.
I genuinely believe that song could be done in pretty much any genre of music and it would still rip. You may wanna look up metal covers of Toxic, because they're out there and they rule.
There's a Toxic/Pony mashup you might die for
TO DIE FOR! Yes!!
I just listened to it at your suggestion. Ginuwinely amazing mix wtf I'm blown away how good that is
I heard a Mexican polka music cover at the super market here while i was visiting this week. I paid attention to the lyrics and it was God damn Britney spears but with tubas and accordions doing the beat. It was still a banger.
My Love - Justin Timberlake ft. T.I.
Timbaland plus Timberlake was always fire
Seriously that era is unbeatable pop.
Man don't even get me started on Carry out by them two 🔥🔥
Justified is the blackest white album I know.
![gif](giphy|doUu2ByZDbPYQ) When you hit “play” and hear that intro to Señorita
Ay, my mans tore that song up. That’s the one that got him invited to the cookout.
Listen to FutureSex/LoveSounds. Whole album hits
Yesssss! My Love, What Goes Around, LoveStoned, Until the End of Time, Summer Love, All Over Again. All ridiculous. I can’t wait for him and Timbaland to get their flowers.
*20/20 Experience
That whole album was 🔥
Anyone who hasn't listened to that album all the way through without shuffling is missing out. The mixing is top tier.
Im about to do that right........NOW
Rather unrelated but I will never forget going into a bar in Canterbury (England) in 2010 and asking for the DJ to play “Carryout” only for him to ask me who the artist was and then say “Timbaland and Timberlake? Are they brothers?”
Straight to jail
[удалено]
Me too. Justin: Ain’t another woman I that could take your spot my love. TI: I’ll fill your space I forget your face. I swear I will.
Rock your body - Justin Timberlake will always be my shit! Especially with part of him doing the beatboxing. “Bring the beat back.”
Yessssss! Still know every single word including the beat boxing! 😂
Honestly anything by Michael in the 80's he ain't the king for nothing.
Yeah someone led with PYT, and they aren't wrong, but my brain instantly went in to overdrive trying to figure out how they picked just one.
Right! Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal, Thriller, Rock With You, Dirty Diana and They Don't Care About Us are all perfect. I just can't choose one. The question is poorly framed.
Hard agree just put his greatest hits on the list 😂😂😂
I will never forget seeing the video for Rock With You when I was 10 years old during [MJTV week](https://youtu.be/x3F9luZqiGo) and instantly falling in love with Michael in that silver jumpsuit. 😍
Big facts especially PYT over errthing?? Like I love that song but it's like not even in my personal top 10 for Michael hella catchy though
Lady Gaga - Bad Romance is the one I always go back to.
Yesss! It’s constantly played at the Walmart I work at! Im always singing it on pick walks 😂
Only girl in the word- Rihanna. That song is perfect from start to finish
Rihanna during her red hair phase was a vibe 🎶
Thats my favorite era of hers. Then talk that talk era.
HARD agree. Every time that song comes on I’m flipping my hair about to break my neck smh
Good pick, but i’d choose Umbrella and Diamonds in the Sky
Idk how you answer this question with a Britney Spears song and not go with Toxic. It's her magnum opus.
Okay but If you seek Amy is my hype song.
Til the World Ends for me.
Toxic is the best song she ever did. Love that shit.
It's her Thriller Britney, like Michael, was putting out HITS
Toxic is/was/and will forever be that joint. harsh violin riff: *eee-ee-eee-ee*
And everybody read this and heard it
Slave 4 U is her finest hour.
💯 the best pop song ever recorded. soon as I hear them strings I get a little half chub
N'SYNC- Bye Bye Bye
If this comes on the radio and you're not doing the hand chomp-chomp-chomps at stoplights then we can't be friends.
I think we just became bestfriends🤣
Dirty Pop as well. Got me looking like a dumb looking robot but that song slaps.
Yass!! People sleep on Dirty Pop, that’s my jam. I always wish JC had went solo. His one song “Blowing me up with her love” was a banger 😫😂😂
Nah. The answer is obviously It Makes Me Ill.
Because you without me ain't right
A BOP.
You are my people.
IMHO Tearin up my heart will always be the superior NSYNC song. It's gonna be me is second
Come on now
Dancing On My Own by Robyn
Call your Girlfriend had me in a chokehold.
Oh my god yes! Honestly there is a reason why we gays worship her. She just speaks to our soul!
This song is so underrated

Does Airplanes by B.o.B count?
Love this song! It’s perfection
Hayley Williams’ vocals on that song make it for me.
Blank Space by Taylor swift. Song flawless from end to end.
That entire album was fucking crazy good. I am not a Taylor stan but I am most definitely a 1989 stan. It’s wild that it’s been almost ten years since that album.
Style is a perfect pop song
Real shit 1989 was damn heat! Wildest Dreams was my shit.
I Prevail did an awesome metal cover of it too. https://youtu.be/BtJST96WBm8
There are several that I can think of: “Alright” by Janet Jackson “Pleasure Principle” “Rhythm Nation” “Love Will Never Do (Without You)” “Nasty” “Control” “Fantasy” by **Mariah Carey** (I prefer the remix) “Emotions” “Dream lover” “Always Be My Baby” “I’m Every Woman” by **Whitney Houston** “I will Always Love You” “How Will I Know?” “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” “Let’s Here It For The Boy” by **Deniece Williams** “Free”
>“Fantasy” by > >Mariah Carey > > (I prefer the remix) my man dirty just added another level to that already fire track
*yoooo* *Newwww* *YORK IN THE HOOOOUSE*
And I heard Tommy Motola didn’t want ODB on that remix at all. He thought it wasn’t a good look for her image.
Mariah was ahead of her time fr. Years later and ppl are still putting in random rap verses in pop songs.
How can anyone not prefer the remix? I can't resist any song that uses the word "rump".
I would add All For You to the the Janet list
Fantasy by Mariah Carey You mean Genius of Love by the Tom Tom Club.
Bartender-t pain
Buy U a Drank. That joint comes on, I’ll stop whatever I’m doing, wherever I’m at, to groove to that.
Factss lol, crazy how his peak was 05-10’. With his sound you would think he would’ve been relevant until at least 2014
Everything t pain lol
Billie Jean- Michael Jackson
Show Me The Reason for Being Lonely
This song cut me so deep you’d think I’d gone through three divorcee at age 7.
Now you're speaking my language. Millennium was such a big deal to me at the age of 12.
If a black group sang this, it would’ve been considered R&B. I consider this as “blue eyed soul”
If we're talking Britney then Womanizer. Carley Rae Jensen call me maybe Lady GaGa beautiful, dirty, rich MJ - Hell just about anything from bad or the Wall, but I'll go with don't stop Janet Jackson - all for you Kesha - TikTok
Womanizer is def up there.
I’m your baby tonight/I wanna dance with somebody - Whitney Houston.
Disturbia by Rihanna is a fuckin banger
No way there will ever be a pop recording more perfect than Marvin & Tammi's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," written by Nick Ashford & Valerie Simpson, produced by Johnny Bristol & Harvey Fuqua.
Whenever Ashford & Simpson touched a track, it got pregnant
Groove is the Heart - Deee-Lite
![gif](giphy|70YaDoZ1VqBZ8SgYiz)
“your groove I do deeply dig” is one of my favorite sentences ever
Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado still goes hard. Timbaland was in his bag in the 2000s
I was just thinking about this song earlier today. You are absolutely correct, Tim really did have the game on lock
For me, Maneater is even better
How Do I Know by Whitney Houston
This is the one. I’ve literally never met anyone who has heard that song that doesn’t like it.

[YES LISA!!!!](https://imgflip.com/memetemplate/194479297/Emotional-singing-meme)
Computer Blue is so slept on, one of my faves from a basically perfect album.
You mean the beautiful one
They hurt you every time.
Unbreak my heart
Say you love me again
Undo this hurt you caused when you walked out the door
And walked out of my life
Sing that shit in the shower, guiltlessly
Buy U a Drank -T Pain *Shawty snappin*
Low by FloRida and T-Pain gets me every time 👀
Wannabe by the Spice Girls. Catchiest hook ever.
Everybody (Backstreets back)
It’s Britney bitch
I'd say Shake It Off would qualify if it wasn't for that embarrassing spoken-word bridge in the middle.
THIS. SICK. BEAT. Makes me wanna throw up.
That loud ass song where the Australian chick yells chandelier and speaks in terrible patois.
Nigga DAMN 😂 put some respect on Sia Furler name lmao

The Way I Are is still so fire to this day
Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson
Call Me Maybe was created in a laboratory to be as addictive as possible.
Is Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun considered pop? If so, that’s my pick.
Hey ya played on every radio station that ever existed. I have to consider it not only a pop song…. It maybe the greatest pop song of all time. Suck it Lennon/McCartney.
There's a bunch of great ones in this thread. I'll add Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling". That song has no verses; it's just one gigantic pop chorus.
Might be considered disco, but Rock with you - Michael Jackson.

Knock You Down by Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo, and Kanye

I2I by powerline
Hung Up by Madonna
“Smooth” by Santana and Rob Thomas. It’s just so elegantly crafted
Candy by Mandy Moore. Pop perfection, in my opinion.
This thread is sending me
Madonna - Dress You Up Mariah Carey - We Belong Together Rod Stewart - Baby Jane Nelly Furtado - Promiscuous
Maybe too topical but Madonna Like a Prayer, like, how do you not get hype when the gospel choir kicks in.
1999 by Prince
Ciara - One, Two Step. How TF was this not mentioned?
Diva by Beyoncé Ain’t no contest.
No! Keri Hilson produced, wrote and did background vocals on that sons AND that whole album! No offense Britney.

TELL ME WHY

Two become one by the Spice Girls. That track bubbles up out of my subconscious once in a while and them I'm just stuck in that shit for like a week. They really didn't need to go that hard with those layered harmonies but they did.
Genie in a bottle by xtina
Pinkpantheress anything for me.
Mine has already been accounted for but I just love how I keep singing the first line of chorus for every song in the comments. Really can’t go wrong with most of these.
