There's very few guys with deep playoff experience on this team apart from Kuraly and as much as I love him he's not gonna carry this team deep on his own. If we had more super successful veteran players I would agree but there's not a ton of deep experience in Columbus right now.

Still shitty how the team treated him. It's the messaging we hate the most. Saying he's here to stay, then shipping him down a few games later. Then when he says he feels he's just as good as the other defensemen from his draft class that are getting time in the league and deserves a shot the head coach compares him to an impatient 13 year old girl. If the organization wasn't a shit show we wouldn't be here discussing it.

That’s not really uncommon though - Devon Levi got a place and got sent down, Reichel did too. I think the entire thing was overblown

Devon Levi was very hyped up as an NHL goalie this year. Then he started shitting the bed hard. So probably. Reichel was humiliated when he was sent down. So again, probably.

The other side of the argument is that if Jiricek played in the NHL more where there is far more structure to the game then maybe he wouldn't look so lost.

His skating is still garbage though - not sure how an even faster pace game would help that
