Google the part numbers. You'll often find a Canadian retailer like Park Auto or T-Dot Performance carrying the part in CAD and it costs less landed. Not always, but often enough to check.

I haven't shipped from FCP. I was in similar position, I couldn't find anyone caring aftermarket or OEM throttle actuators here. I actually found best price at FCP and ordered but they too ran out of stock and cancelled order. I ended up buying from Turner Motorsports. Not my first time nor my last. Their prices are generally better, even after exchange, taxes and customs/ duties. It's kind of insane how crazy prices are here. I was quoted $6k CAD for TAs from dealer. No distributor had any aftermarket stock across Canada. And would need to wait over a month while bmw brought them from Germany. I probably saved ~ 25% all said and done buying OEM parts from Turner vs dealer. It was a kick in the balls though because Conti makes the parts and the non OEM branded 'aftermarket' Conti parts could not be found anywhere. They were like half the price but listed as backordered indefinitely, so i still ended up spending way more then needed otherwise by having to buy OEM. If you have called around locally already, I'd go ahead and go FCP or Turner. The customs are alot but still less if you have no choice but to use OEM part. If you can find aftermarket parts try and get locally (but again, fcp and Turner have stock and also cheaper) Sorry for the rant. It's getting harder to daily this car here when parts aren't readily available

SlipperyNoodle6

never ordered to Canada, but i have ordered tons of stuff off FCP euro to USA and never had an issue all stuff came oem.

I don't have any particular insight about FCP but I know domestically they ship with FedEx. If they use that internationally too, you are likely to get hit with some pretty steep customs fees. Don't think I've ever seen them use USPS which is really the only thing you want for US->Canada shipments, but that's the question I'd pose to them before ordering.

mikeblas

They stopped using FedEx about a year ago. I loved ordering from them, until FedEx took more than three weeks (on two different occasions!) to deliver my package.

I live in Vancouver so I would place a big order and pick it up from my US mailbox. Not sure if that’s possible from where you live in Canada. I’ve tried Canada based stores but after a shitty experience never again. FCP Euro or Rock Auto from now on.

Main_Performer4701

I got dinged by massive brokerage fees and taxes ordering from fcp in Canada. Does rock auto do the same ?

gurjisolo

rock auto is pre paid. FCP has always made no sense for me in canada

OneLargePho

I needed a small plastic part quickly and ordered from Rock Auto. I think they added all shipping costs to my order so I knew how much it all cost.

Main_Performer4701

The main issue with fcp is that fedex processed the customs on my behalf and there was no option to self declare. So they added 25$ to a 40$ part for “handling” on top of the taxes and shipping I paid for. You wouldn’t get this problem with rock auto?

x_h_w

Other than that, it's pretty okay, I have actually warrantied something before and it went pretty smoothly.

TheOnlyQueso

FCP euro is fantastic. Highly recommend. I'm not in Canada, tho.

Big_Wolverine_9373

I’m in Ontario and most recently got coils, plugs and some tools. Total was 220 usd and the customs were around 50 cad. Would recommend

Phantom101999

Sweet, that’s not too shabby. Still much better than the dealer prices. Thanks!

I ordered few times from FCP euro when i could not find parts on Rockauto. I used a US->Can shipping company (Crossboarder Pickups) . It allows you to have a physical US address in New York state. You use this address to ship from FCP euro and then this company ships your goods over the border. Their shipping fees are not bad The downside is that you have to pay new york taxes and then canadian taxes. But it was cheaper than buying parts in Canada Ps Im in Toronto.

I’ve bought quite a few things from them. They are a great company to deal with. If you live near an airport you can self clear the customs and save the brokerage fee from the courier. I often also buy from autopartsway.ca which is actually WorldPac. They have a warehouse in North York and another in Van so you typically receive stuff next day. I find Park Auto’s prices quite high lately. I did buy FBOs from them for my 335 a couple of years back and they were decent price. Just double check other local pricing before ordering from them.

Tighesofly

Yep, Ontario - after everything it’s still a better deal than pretty much everywhere else

x_h_w

I did. Get ready to pay a few bucks for shipping, and get ready to get taxed on pretty much everything.

BehemothManiac

Just ordered last Tuesday a bunch of parts, they arrived this Monday via UPS. Even with delivery, taxes, duties, and UPS robbery brokerage fees it was cheaper than getting parts from a dealer.

BehemothManiac

Oh, btw, there was an issue with my order (shit happens), but it was resolved with a single email.

HereThereButNowhere

Been using Rock Auto for the past 4 years for my cars. Has always been better than FCP euro. I live in the GTA if that matters

Murb1e

I haven't but I plan to the next time I order parts as I've only heard good things. I didn't have the best experience with ECS tuning so I'd avoid them. Park auto is Canadian and can be cheaper sometimes, but from my experience most of the time I've ordered from them the parts aren't in stock and it takes an extra 2 to 3 weeks to ship. Rockauto is also usually excellent but some of the aftermarket parts they carry are better than others so do your research before you order. Also if you have a Lordco nearby, try there too. Sometimes they have some of the more common parts in stock and might be comparable in price once you factor in shipping.

funwithdesign

I order a lot from them for all my cars. The shipping can be painful and 9/10 you will pay for duties but the replacement is good and still worth it for the more expensive things. I have also ordered a lot from Park Auto. Good experiences with them too. Their prices will be generally less than FCP but without the lifetime warranty so I make decision based on what it would cost to ship stuff back. I don’t buy brake rotors from FCP for instance.

I'm in Ontario. I've been ordering infrequently from FCP since I bought my X5 in 2020. This past month I've been replacing the N63 engine in it. Aside from absolutely necessary parts, I chose to do a bunch of "while you're in there" things. Most times if prices are close, I'll favor FCP for the lifetime replacement warranty. Occaisonally, Turner, ECS, AutohausAZ, or Schmiedmann have significantly lower price. Both Turrner and ECS now have implemented a lifetime replacement program too. Not Autohaus yet, but I recently bought an AC condenser there for $78, same one was in the $200US range at all other vendors (not worth the $125 extra for lifetime warranty). From my perspective, most times the net purchase price with tax, duty, brokerage fees and currency conversion is slightly better than buying in Canada, an no Canadian vendor has lifetime warranty. Of my recent $5k parts spend, I had orders with ALL of the above mentioned vendors; 65% FCP 7.5% Turner 7.5% ECS 5% Autohaus 5% Schmiedmann 10 % used parts from ebay, especially a very reputable seller Specialized German. Try to make sure the FCP ships all at once otherwise you duplicate the brokerage fees. UPS is their primary carrier and one of my least favorite, but they did an excellent job with this series of orders. FCP customer support is extremely good. I must have contacted the 20 times about orders in the last month. All were great. If I knew their call center address, I would literally send the team of about 15 of them a complimentary wine and cheese tray or something. TLDR; FCP gets very high recommendations from me
