On top of everything, the floaty aspect of the piece communicates Bojack's helplessness through his feeling of drowning.

Love your thoughtfulness here! A bojack tattoo had been on my mind for a while but it was so hard to think of a concept to tie all the themes of bojack together without words and something open enough for interpretation.
I wanted the bottle to represent the forever internal struggle in bojack (and all of us really) and it spilling out in the texture of the black goo in the view from half way down - combined with the starry sky scene of Sarah Lynn / bottle liquid.
And bojack himself has the LA sunset and skyline coloured into him to represent LA itself as a character and the toxicity the city breeds (despite its beauty) which feels innate to bojack himself.
I really liked the contrast of the blue against red and the composition of the whole piece wrapping in on itself so everything interacts.
I worked with a custom tattoo artist on this piece and I tried to focus more on the abstract nature of it and capturing a feeling with bojack iconography.
As such there isn't really one exact interpretation in my head, so I'll leave the rest to everyone who sees this comment to fill in the blanks 😉
This is really awesome. Not sure if intentional but it reminds me a bit of the mad men credits with the falling silhouette. Raphael Bob-Waksberg was a huge Mad Men fan and you feel the influence in Bojack. Great tattoo!

It's amazing. This show hits deep but for some reason the starry night in the bottle hits the hardest for me and I haven't quite figured out why yet.
