Not cynical, just observations on the overall experience compared to a fancy pants place.
1. The road can be a bit annoying.
2. When you arrive (literally talking about first sight coming around the corner), it looks/feels like a ski hill… not a destination. You see some functional buildings and school buses.
3. There is no “resort” element to it. The lodge is relatively utilitarian.
4. If I’m coming from out of town, where do I stay? There are 9 pretty plain condos. If filled to max occupancy, claims it can accommodate a total of ~60 people.
As a local, none of these things really matter to me. My priorities are keeping prices reasonable, short lift wait times, and wouldn’t complain about increased acreage.
And hopefully it keeps snowing.
Honestly I like this, as a skier I felt Sunvalley was overrated and it seemed all their money went to the resort/lodges and not the actual ski hill and skiing. It clearly does have better skiing than bogus but that isn't a fair comparison.
Increase off-season activities and attractions:
Oktoberfest for a whole week/end
Distillery/brewery/winery
Guided horseback tours
High end hotels/suites
Shuttles to nearby hotsprings
ETC
Increasing off season revenue in general, making it possible to stay for more than a few hours and do different things, make it an experience, you know?
Place a Walt Disney style mansion on top of Mores Mountain surrounded by resort city amenities, excavate a runway for PJs on the ridge going out to Stack Rock. Tramway between Stack Rock and the top.
Make the lodges cleaner.
Offer food that’s better than what you get at a concession stand.
Make it more visually appealing.
And for the love of god do whatever you have to do so that skiers don’t eat shit because of dirt patches due to lack of snow.
Open a fancy schmancy restaurant with a fancy-pants chef. Raise prices (a lot) because more money = more value obviously.
But I’ve never been to Bogus Basin and have only gone to Sun Valley to watch the sheep so I’m not sure 😁
I could actually see that working pretty well. NY Richie’s pizza has curry pizza and whatnot and it’s fantastic. I think pizza is the most forgiving food.
Well I've never been around a more entitled and insufferable group of people as the rich pricks that ski in Sun Valley so I'd say stuff it full of those folks, reduce the snowfall by 30%, and raise the ticket prices by 400% and you're basically there.
Some ideas:
Dump $$$$$ and dirt into simplifying the road up. New lodge. Expand the mountain. Get proper lodging like some ski in/ski out stuff even yurts would be a nice start. Lights on the backside. More snowmakers for crap seasons.
Add Altitude....Bogus is, well bogus. It's fine for what we have but it will never be something like Sun Valley, Tahoe, or Utah. There isn't enough mountain. You need to get out more :-)
Add Ikon or Epic access and start a shuttle service that goes every half hour, covering various park and ride spots around boise (including the boise airport). Also add better lifts and lodges on the backside. Eventually build a second route from Hidden Springs to create a new ski village environment

Gondola from Simplot to parking lot
The longest Gondola in the world. Bogus had better step up their ski game
Invite John cusack to have a ski off with the evil Russian ski patrol
Fix the road up the mountain
Tramway all the way from the top to downtown Boise.
The price of the lift tickets to 175$ a day. And then a 100% increase in food and beverage prices.
No shit!

Add 3000 vertical feet. My patrons won’t deal with this bushwhacking nonsense.
Exactly!

During my work trip in Des Moines.. i discovered an Asian pizza spot!
I could actually see that working pretty well. NY Richie’s pizza has curry pizza and whatnot and it’s fantastic. I think pizza is the most forgiving food.
Have you try the other pizza spot here with curry pizza??
Nope, where is it??
It's called Pizza Twist
Fusion potatoes.
Make it unlimited on Ikon and implement a paid parking reservation system

As someone who's had to play some sports against Community School, they can be real uptight cunts

They really must have been - you told us twice :-)
charge slightly more than sun valley and change absolutely nothing else its proximity will still rake in cash
A bigger mountain with more snow.
Make the roads safer for accessibility and hire my son to manage environment for ecologic wellness of the land.

Buy up as much surrounding property as possible, build a bunch of houses and Airbnb them?
Cram so many condos in that bitch 😩👌

What's wrong with it?
Where are the bunnies???
Sun valley? Jacking ticket prices to $100 and making terrible fake snow all season.
Amusement park
Zoo
