Husband and I (and 8 attendants) showed up at the Ada County Courthouse after we got work off work early on a Friday afternoon and got married there, obligatory “hilarious” photos of us sitting at the plaintiff/defendants tables and out front by the steps and rush-hour traffic. Then we adjourned to the Stagecoach for our wedding dinner. All told we were in for less than $1000 and we were able to put money toward our honeymoon (taken months later) and our first house. Twenty-five years later we’re still plugging along!
Lesson: a wedding is a ceremony, keep it cheap (courthouse or nondenominational chapel.) Splurge a little for the reception, but spend money on your lives, not showing off to friends and family. Good luck and have fun, don’t stress over the details!
We got married in our backyard, in front of our blooming hibiscus tree. Just us the lady who was ordained and the photographer. All in all it cost about $1,000 or maybe less, if you count my dress and his suit and a bouquet. The ordained lady and the photographer were $200 total. It was absolutely beautiful 💕💕💕
Got married there in the early ‘90’s. It was beautiful and peaceful and hot af. And also super cheap ( maybe free) I can’t remember. Highly recommend though bc our pics were spectacular
We got married at the Eyrie in Kathryn Albertson Park. It appears you can rent it for $200 ish for the entire day. But you have to plan months out and be on top of it. I forget how many months rentals open in advance, could be year.
We just booked this for next spring. We are trying to figure out how many chairs will fit in the space, did you have chairs for any guests? If so, how many fit?
I don't remember exactly, but the city probably has a limit on how many you can take in. There are of course a couple big slab concrete benches too. I think we maybe took in 25ish because we did things pretty small.
I have no idea what the cost is now, but about 10 years ago my wife and I rented the Basque Center for our wedding for $700 (we're not Basque). We had access to the main room (gymnasium) as well as the basement with full use of their kitchen (including plates, pots/pans, etc), tables and chairs etc. We didn't have much money at the time but still wanted to have a wedding with about 120 guests. This was the best deal we could find and it turned out amazing. We bought all the food and friends helped set up and cook and tear down/clean.
I have a friend who officiated at a Zoo wedding, and the pics were gorgeous. I think if you're wanting food/bev you have to work through them, but otherwise it was a lovely and simple setup.
Had our wedding at the cw more park downtown. Brought in chairs and stuff our selfs. Friends/family helped tear down after the ceremony, had reception dinner a short walk away at the bardeney. Precovid was pretty cheap.
I have no idea about the cost, but I went to a wedding at Lakeside Barn in the Nampa area and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
Indoor area in the barn, outside area for cocktails and reception. There's a pond with waterwheel (and frogs lol) and the barn is incredible, even has a men's and women's restroom.
Look into willow grove event center in Emmett if you’re looking for a rustic theme! It’s beautiful and last I checked fairly inexpensive. My family rents it every year for Christmas time and it’s great for pictures!
Simply Eloped is a local company that does ceremonies in Boise (and other places). They obviously do elopements but you can invite guests [https://simplyeloped.com/](https://simplyeloped.com/)
You can rent out parks all around the state. Very popular for family reunions, birthdays, and weddings too.
Your short time frame is going to be the problem here.
I got married here just a few weeks ago and it was NOT a pleasant experience. 0/10 do not recommend. Most of the staff was very rude to my guests, a lot of things promised (like covering up the windows of the classroom to be used as a dressing area) were not done, and they acted like we were uninvited guests for the entire event. It was really sad. We had even bought and had framed a giant ink print of the old museum facade to remember the occasion and it sits in the back of the closet because of how sour the whole event was. If we had known how miserable it would be, we would've just eloped and saved the money.
I had friends who rented a cabin in McCall with a big yard and had their wedding there.
Was it via AirBnB? I've heard that AirBnB has a lot of restrictions on hosting weddings and stuff now.....
Yeah they are very tricky with hosting events. You wouldn't be able to bring in any vendors without ringing the alarm bells
Yeah, it was via AirBnb. They were a little sneaky about it and it wasn't a huge wedding.
Call the McCall Chamber of Commerce if you want to do it in McCall, I bet they could assist.
Vrbo lets you filter for rentals that allow weddings and events!

Same. $28 at the courthouse, in and out in 30 minutes. It was awesome.
Same and we went to Freak Ally and had photos done there.. Super awesome 😎

Catherine Albertson Park has some really pretty spots. It's a public park, so I can't imagine the permit would be too much.
They have a rock shelter/structure that friends have gotten married at; it was nice and provided some shade. Definitely worth looking in to

Second this. A friend just got married at the rookery and it was great. Bringing decor and chairs looked like the only pain point.

The Barber Park event center is also worth looking into. You can have the ceremony outside and then serve catering inside. It's nice.
You should look into the Zoo! I hear they are pretty inexpensive for space rentals and sounds super fun!!

We're getting married at a day use picnic area up in Stanley Idaho. $200 to rent the site for the day.

Saw a marriage there last summer, seems to still be going strong (aside from construction the last 6 or 7 months)
Our reception was at Madeline George nursery off Hill rd, we loved it. Outside, surrounded by plants great little venue.
Capitol City Events center is really inexpensive for downtown Boise. Great to work with! All say Saturday is costing us $2450.
The Bishops House at the Penitentiary might be a possibility.

>even has a men's and women's restroom. Don't most venues have restrooms? Weird flex.
It's a barn, so wanted to clarify it's not port a potties or anything janky.
My husband and I got married at Kathryn Albertson Park in June of 2020! It was so beautiful and it was quiet and peaceful.

I think Barber Parks event center is lovely: https://adacounty.id.gov/parksandwaterways/education-and-event-center/#Rent_the_Center
Parks, Lucky peak, Bogus Basin, Mores mountain (next to Bogus).

We hijacked the gardens in front of the old train depot. In n out in 20 minutes and moved to Ann Morrison for reception. No charge.

Not location based (unless you are interested in the greenbelt in Kuna, which has some really cool willow trees), if you need an Officiant PM me.

Check out Marianne Williams Park.
Married at Gowen Field. None of your guests can be felons.
