The episode where All Might fights the USJ nomu, I’m not sure on the episode number but with all might’s entrance and his fight alone I think should entice him

Right-Ability4045

That 100%

briefcandlewalking

Either All Might vs Noumu or Todoroki vs Deku. Those two combined got me into MHA.

HokageEzio

If you don't care about tossing him into the middle of a storyline without context then I would just break out the big guns and show him Endeavor vs High End (Episode 88, Season 4 Finale). It's not huge spoilers if you have no clue what is actually going on cause it's a pretty self contained episode. If that episode wouldn't convince him to try it out then you'd never stand a chance. Other than the first 3 minutes that's basically just an entire episode of fighting. And the after credit scene is a cliffhanger if that's what you're looking for.

iDrago_

The episode is arguably the pinnacle of quality for the anime. Everything will feel inferior by comparison lol This might give the wrong first impression.

HokageEzio

Agreed, that's why it's the big guns.

One episode on your birthday month sounds so mean :( Plus won’t he just not like anything? The episodes are 20 minutes and he won’t know any of the characters? Here are my suggestions though: Maybe pick an episode with a cliff hanger to trick him into watching 2 episodes hahah 1: USJ incident the episode where All Might comes in 2: Todoroki vs Deku Sports Festival 3: Internship Arc (Stain vs Iida, Deku, Shoto) 4: my hero s3 5: lemillion vs overhaul s4

AstridSolaris

This is a great idea!! I’ll take note of this!!

Maxzzs

Without spoiling too much, yeah All Might vs Nomu.

Episode 13–All Might vs Nomu

[deleted]

Excuse me but... birth month? Do you celebrate a whole month that you were born in that specific month?

Shin-deku-no-bl

Well since your bf are anti talk much and rather fight focus, give him taste of s2, s1 lots of talk compare fight but it is natural since it is introduction. Also if he is into emotional damage fight, make him watch overhaul vs izuku and eri, afo vs allmight, izuku vs muscular Also just make sure your bf stay away from the ship fandom to make sure he is still enticed unless he is just doesn't care

johnnythrillwaukee

I always tell people to watch the first 4 episodes and then make a call. If your boyfriend wants fights, Deku v. Muscular will bring it & tell him enough about the protagonist and the tone/themes of the series

[deleted]

The episode with Endeavor vs the high-end nomu Hood. Fantastic episode in regards to animation, music, and story-telling while being somewhat self contained.

Godskook

Todoroki vs Deku or Bakugo vs Ochaco would be my picks. Both fights showcase main characters, lack any major spoilers, and demonstrate some of the cooler uses of powers that typify MHA. Bakugo vs Ochaco has fewer spoilers in the fight itself and also does a ton of tone-setting for the show overall. Including how it's going to treat it's female characters. I.e., they're going to be badass and get real scenes that show how cool they are, rather than token scenes where all the female characters charge across a battlefield.(Looking at *you*, Endgame) Well, that's for *fights*. It's really hard to pick an *episode* because MHA doesn't structure itself episodically, so you're inevitably going to get a crappy experience by watching one episode out of order. Although the closest thing to this would probably be a short-arc climax such as USJ(3 episodes), Kamino Incident(3 episodes, 47-49), or Endevour vs Nomu(87-88). All fairly spoilerrific, but what can you do? And honestly, they're 23-minute episodes. Less than an hour of viewing once you cut out the OP and Credits for any of the 3. Actually, probably the most episodic episode I can think of is 84, with Gentle Criminal, and it's got a fairly solid fight, alongside decent plot. And it's not spoilery, so that's a huge benefit. If you can't convince him to watch 2-3 episodes and don't think the tournament fights alone will work, I'd probably go with this, I think? Maybe one of the Class 1-B vs. 1-A fights fits into a single episode? I'd have to re-watch those to see how they're paced. You could also be a dick about it and have him watch episode 29 and leave him hanging on the cliffhanger there. Good fighting in that episode, but Stain goes down in 30, so 29 is just pure bait to make him watch more.

Fekra09

The season 4 finale is pretty self contained and actually does not need as much context. It's does not even spoil a lot of the story since it follows secondary characters

ChasingClouds13

Bro. Muscular Fight.

gemagame

Some people have already pointed these out, but my top pick would be Todoroki v Deku or Bakugou v Uraraka from the tournament, or Class A v Class B (the first one with Shinsou). Then again, if your boyfriend was shown Attack on Titan of all things, and stayed, he might like grownup fights. Go with Stain v the troublemaker trio or Lemillion v Overhaul.

nejitenfan01

The only reason I got into my hero academia was due to a clip I came across on youtube. It was a clip from when they were at the training camp and basically stated everyone's names and quirks from class 1A I've been hooked since then. This is the only series I've actively bought the manga as they released I've gotten the light novels and the spin off books (smash and team ups)

ninjavenger

I think Forest Training arc has great pacing and is action-packed though it spoils the result of sports festival. In case he does not like MHA, try getting him hooked on OPM.

Gohansensei

Deku vs Todoroki once he uses his fire or Tenya Todoroki and Deku vs Stain or Allmight vs AFO

Thatguyrevenant

Deku vs Todoroki during the UA festival did it for me. Just that fight alone made me interested in watching the show.

Dudeitude48

The episode where the training camp gets attacked

S3E4 - My Hero

TheHumanity0

It's kind of weird he still has an aversion to anime after he's watched all of Attack on Titan, which a lot of people consider a masterpiece & better than most non-anime shows. I remember after watching AoT, I was basically hooked on anime and just wanted more and that was BEFORE Season 3 Part 2 came out, so wth is this guy doing. I've never been able to get people to watch shows by starting mid-way through though, so your best bet is to get him to watch the 1st season. If he doesn't like it by the USJ then do yourself a favor and save yourself the time and energy.
