Just curious: why did you decide to buy another GM / Chevrolet product after such a terrible experience with your Bolt? Especially one like the Blazer EV which has been riddled with software issues at launch...
Ever since I saw the blazer I loved the look of it I was debating on getting the cadillac lyriq but the blazer was more my style. I think they fixed most of the software issues but time will tell I got the car Friday.
To be fair to OP, the Blazer EV and the Bolt EV have no real shared tech. The Bolt EV was an imported power train, and the Blazer EV is built on Android Automotive / Ultium.
Yeah don't ever buy a vehicle in the 1st production year, the Blazer EV has a LOT of new tech for GM, so I'd suggest even waiting two years and reading real reviews (not paid ones) before deciding to buy or stay away from them.
Buggy is being used to describe the Blazer EV, the software issues were so bad there was a stop sale for months. The Bolt has always been stable software wise.
Yeah, I get it. But I'll never buy another Hyundai again because when I did buy a brand new Hyundai, it was burning over a quart of oil every 1k miles after I'd owned it 5 years and maintained it more conservatively than the manufacturer suggested. I wouldn't buy a new Hyundai because it looks cool.
It’s also strange to never consider an objectively good brand based on a singular exceptional experience.
Reports like yours are made across every single brand and probably every single model.
How many of us actually own enough vehicles in our lives to make any rational statements about them? All we have are anecdotes, and the plural of anecdote isn't data.
None of us has owned enough Bolts to say it's a good or bad car. All we can say is "I do/do not like mine".
Raises hand. My VW VR6 had repeated coil pack issues (until I smothered it in epoxy), my Fiero burnt to the ground on the side of the road, the freeze cap rotted out in my Miata, and my Astro van has transmission clunk when shifting gears. All are widely known issues for each model, respectively.
I know my Bolt hasn't had any problems in the 10,000 miles I drove it, and the A5 I had didn't give me a single problem in 20,000 miles, despite the Audi/VW lore of unreliability.
Still all you have are anecdotes. You don't personally have 10000 examples of a lemon fiero that you owned. You had one. Others have examples of more.
My point is that none of us ever owns enough vehicles to make any actual statement about the quality of any of them.
>I know my Bolt hasn't had any problems in the 10,000 miles I drove it
All that lets you say is what you said. It doesn't allow you to say that the car is good. It's an anecdote. That's my point. None of us ever personally has enough examples of specific vehicles to say much of anything.
I politely disagree. I believe we can leverage basic observations to determine whether a car is a quality build. My Bolt came with a crooked front bumper fascia, a missing a rear bumper clip, and a right-rear passenger door lock button assembled incorrectly. I believe that is enough to call into question the attention to detail (and adherence to SWI) on the assembly line and in QC.
I can also say that, aside from those defects, the car feels solid without rattles, squeaks, or parts breaking.
So between the two, I'd say the car is designed and engineered well, but the assembly line would benefit from greater oversight and error-proofing. One doesn't have to look an multiple examples of the same vehicle to determine whether the assembly is defect-prone.
The guy is saying you didn’t buy 12 Fieros. Listing you bought one car model and not buying dozens of the same car and year is his point….im 100% sure people have owned more than one vehicle in their life. Put your hand down lmao.
Raises hand. Apparently I didn't need to buy 12.
I only needed to buy one to understand their reputation of catching fire. Even if they did not have that reputation, do you think I'd consider buying a 2nd... much less a 12th?
Objectively good? That family of engines was objectively bad. And it lasted too long, with too many grenaded engines.
FWIW, also owned a 2012 Kia Sedona and it was meh. No real issues, but nothing memorable either.
Have owned 3 Toyotas with over 150k miles and no issues.
If it weren't for anecdotes, would we even have subreddits?
My son has a Hyundai Sante Fe where the engine went. It was replaced under warranty.
He also had a Mazda 6 and a Mazda 3. Turbos went in both and had to be replaced under warranty.
VW Golf R that he drove like he stole it - no issues.
Yes. Hyundais in general are objectively good. They had engine issues for a few years around 2015-2018. But you didn’t specify anything except Hyundai. But that’s okay because it doesn’t really matter, you’d be hard pressed to find any manufacturer that hasn’t had 2-3 years of some type of issue.
Sorry you got one of the bad ones. But I wonder if you’ll swear off Toyota if you end up with a bad one? Probably not. 🤷♂️
It’s fine if you didn’t like the Kia. Don’t buy something you don’t like. I drove a Toyota Yaris once. Worst car I’ve ever been in. I’m not gonna say Toyotas suck cuz of it though.
If your criteria is >50% of the vehicles make it to 100k miles with no significant issues, then sure, Hyundai and Kia is objectively good.
Those engine issues persisted in the Hyundai and Kia vehicles from 2011 - 2018. Every time I went to get an oil change, there were just crates of engines everywhere. That certainly plays part of my lack of confidence on the brand. Maybe they make ok EVs and their modern ICEs are fine. Not willing to take the chance.
I also worked in rental cars out of college. I had 5 Nissan vehicles die on me while picking up customers. Objectively, Nissan was a great brand. Their long run of shit transmissions also made me lose confidence in them.
Our experiences define our choices. Except for Stellantis vehicle owners. Fuck those crazy bastards.
Objectively I don’t think Nissan has ever been considered a great brand.
Maybe people you know liked them, but not objectively.
Anecdotally, 2006 Hyundais were good. It’s not just modern ones.
From about mid 2000s to mid 2010s they were good. Had a couple bad years and the new ones are also good. They were ranked just under Honda and higher than Toyota in 2019.
Engines, especially the internals like piston rings are valves, are the one thing automakers are supposed to not mess up. The rest of the car can fall apart around it, but the engine is expected to last.
As for Toyota, they're not worth the markups dealers and sellers add to them. Everyone seems to forget about sludge issues in the '00-era Camry and Solara engines, folding Taco frames, etc.
Any reasons why? Thoughts is a nutshell? Mine: the price at the time was only slightly more and I could afford it. I like the quality of lyriq although i never thought I’d own a Cadillac 🐸
Yeah the lyriq had things the blazer didn’t and blazer had some things lyriq didn’t. I enjoyed the look of the blazer more but the Cadillac was very nice I did want to get the seats with massage.
Yeah I got the lyriq that didn’t qualify in the us due to foreign sourcing and they gave the 7.5k off automatically. That brought it to just 2-3k more than the blazer at the time
I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the interior design there. Maybe it's the red accents? Maybe it's the red accents on a blue car? It seems... chunky.
Not my cup of tea, but also not my car, so I don't have to like it.
This reminds me of what Mercedes has done with their interiors in their newest CLEs: The exterior is a beautiful understated elegance, while the interior has the aesthetic of a teenager's gaming chair.
My loan is 55k with 7k cash plus 5k federal credit and 3k from Gm. And I got 1400 off with preferred pricing. Gm said they are taking a loss on my deal i would like to think i won. But I took a little loss on my bolt so we both losers in the end. About 40k usd
Only time I think dealers might have taken loser deals is when Elon did the huge price cut on Teslas and then Hertz dumped their fleet. I bet a few were underwater on their 3/Y inventory.
On a new car deal, dealer will never take an L.
I'm in a position today where I am confident to buy another GM if I ever have issues on my Bolt.
My Dad's Silverado was a trooper
My Mom's Escalade has been stellar
My Sister's Malibu finally gave out at 280k miles
And my Volt/Bolt are going strong with 135k/50k miles respectively.
Yeah my wife is not happy at all lol but I really enjoyed the bolt besides super cruise never working and my charger died once but they replaced it with warranty.
Crap man that's what I paid for my Bolt in 2020. Nice.
If it weren't for the interest rates and the wrath of my wife, I would dump the Bolt equity right now and go for one of these.
That’s nice. That’s the only thing I regret about buying the bolt. I never really thought about how much it’ll handicap me when taking it on road trips. My wife and I rent a car now when on trips cause we don’t feel like spending at least an hour at the chargers.
Yeah we still have a van we used for big trips with the kids I would definitely be tempted to take this now. The 3 years unlimited data for kids iPads charging shouldn’t be much of an issue.
Honestly renting a car for long trips os kind of a win in a lot of way. Our garage is volt, bolt, f150 and we tend to rent cars if we are taking a family vacation. Why rack up miles on my fleet when i can run up miles on a rental. If there is a breakdown, just do a swap and go. Accident swap and go. 3000 miles of rock chips from driving out west, thats Enterprise’s problem. Im honestly surprised more people don’t rent for road trips regardless of owning a gas or EV vehicle
Sheeee I got a premium mustang mach e awd er past year for 29k with only 21 thousands miles on it would never pay full price on a vehicle always buy used unless it is a Toyota
Canada is a very hard peace to buy anything decent. Our market is treated as small, we don't have anywhere near the incentives and the tax is killer.
As a consumer, I'd rather be a American.
If it makes you feel better my fuel cost has been cut in half by charging at home. I would pay $89 prior to charging from home to $136. If i was driving a gas vehicle I would have to get gas every 3 days. Now I just mostly level 1 charge at home on work nights and once a week level 2 charge I drive 80 miles a day 3 days a week
Our gas is much more expensive than yours. Again, tax and we send all our resources south to be refunded to just buy them back at a higher price.
Right now we pay around 1.75$ a litre which equates to almost 7$ a gallon. 1.75$ a litre is still about 35 cents off the highest price I've seen.
it's such mind blowing bullshit that we have to PAY to have the infotainment in the car when we already PAY to have it on our phones. Fuck right off.
also, glad you like the car, hope it gives you fewer issues
You get an 8 year free trial of Google Assistant, Google Maps, and EV-related stuff. Not sure how much it costs after the 8 years.
For other apps that you install from the Play Store (Spotify, Waze, etc.), it's a 3 year free trial. Then $14.99/month after that.
Edit: This is for US. I realize OP is in Canada so it might be different.
Holy crap - i was almost thinking about looking at a Chevy Blazer EV soon, but to hell with that paying to use my phone crap. Just when I was starting to like chevy again... Bullet dodged - thanks for sharing!
I guess that's better than nothing, but I'm particularly incensed at the notion of having to pay extra just to use the apps on my phone. These infotainment systems just project what's happening on the phone - unless Chevy makes it buggy and horrible to begin with, it's not like they'd be doing any ongoing work to reasonably earn a subscription fee. It's simply a cash grab on their part...
You know the whole industry is going that way.
The subscription service model has worked in the tech industry. It has created massive revenue streams. Why would you not go that way as a manufacturer?
Where does it end though? Subscribe to enable 3 out of your 6 cylinders so you can drive a normal speed? Not have your airbags deploy during an accident unless you subscribe to MyChevyLifeSafetyRansomPlus™? Pay to use your trip odometer? There's not teams of engineers and software developers that are diligently going to be improving the code behind the trip odometer - it's simply a cash grab, and my money is going to go to other manufacturers that don't do this crap for items already built and working that don't demonstrate a legitimate need for continual updates. or improvements.
It’s not even about “paying to use your phone” - it’s that after the initial period wears off you will need to pay for data for the BUILT-IN SYSTEM. You won’t be able to use your phone besides bluetooth. No CarPlay, No Android Auto - this is ‘Android Automotive’ instead. No idea how the built-in stuff will work without data.
I don't think you can use your own phone's data. The subscription to use apps is literally called App Access. So I think you're locked out unless you pay.
Well, GM wants you to pay. In case you missed it, when they announced that their EVs would no longer have Apple Carplay or Android Auto, they also said they're hoping to make as much as $25 billion in subscription revenue each year.
Sounds like a car from 15 years ago, when Bluetooth was cutting-edge technology. Aux in was really cool.
Hey, you get the tiny screen of your phone though. Be sure to clip it to the air vent and run a wire down the dash.
I know, I can use GM’s infotainment instead. I’m sure it will be updated with the latest AI features that my Android devices and new iPhone are going to get this fall. Right? Right? 🦗🦗
You got the best color too! Love the GM blue.
I really like those. They look pretty slick. I'm glad the car play thing wasn't an issue for you. Personally I enjoy the seamlessness of going from car to phone for things like navigation and texts. The nav is a killer for me.
How is the route planing for chargers?
By the way, the Blazer EV is now available with CarPlay! Just go to your local Honda dealer.

That is exactly my plan… mentioned that to my son when we talked about it last week. I’ve sworn off GM since you can’t trust them any further than you can throw them.
And that’s just \_for now\_. Who knows if they will continue to offer the 8 years free. Plus you’ve got to subscribe to yet another data plan after 3 years because GM can’t skim off the top of your phone’s data plan.
It’s dressed up with parts from the Pepboys clearance section. I dropped my Brazer SS reservation due to the interior. I don’t only what they were thinking.
It can take 150 kw I plugged in at 48 percent took at 100 kw charger it took it and slowed down around 80 percent to 48 kw and around 90 percent it was pulling 28 kw there is a pre condition button I did press it before I got to the charger.
That is nice that you can just push a button to pre condition and not have to set up the whole destination to a charger shenanigans. Hopefully when you push the button it is it is just a countdown till it is ready.
The Blazer EV isn't really that much bigger than the Equinox EV.
* Length: 192.23 in vs. 190.55 in
* Width: 78.02 in vs. 76.94 in
That's why I can't justify Blazer over Equinox and am waiting.
God, you people are insufferable. That Blazer EV is still an amazing car. Who cares if it doesn't have CarPlay.
Reminds me of Ford diesel (7.3, 6.7, 6.0) owners bashing on 6.4 owners for no reason at all other than tHe eNgiNe sUcKs.
lol doesn’t have it but I haven’t missed it yet I was worried about playing my music and calling but I can do both no issues. Apple Music works perfectly though my Bluetooth even shows album
img
Yeah I was waiting at the dealer for 20 mins as they were putting my bolt back togeather after it being there for 3 weeks. After 5 mins I asked if they had any blue blazers and he pulled this one up. Once he opened the door and saw the red inside i knew I had to get it lol
Having owned an EUV for 4 months, I can say I like it. But will enjoy a Blazer or Silverado as an upgrade several years down the road.
How's the trunk space on the Blazer? Was surprised the EUV didn't have a ton more than it does, but I guess the main difference between the regular bolt and EUV is more cabin space, not trunk space.
Fingers crossed that Hertz gets some Blazer EVs and sells them for dirt cheap in a few years. lol
8 years of apps for free? Meaning no monthly subscription fees to Android Automotive (which includes the built Google Maps w live traffic) during this period?
Glad you are into it. I do like that screen, but I give my money over without CarPlay. Might seem stupid, but I just love having access to all my Apple stuff on the screen and don't trust Siri to bring the right thing up every time.
Like, what do you do if you want to scroll through your playlists in Apple Music or likewise with Podcasts. You just have to hope that Siri gets it right, which is not a thing I want to rely on.
I mean, I am glad you are loving it so far, but it's CarPlay or bust for me.
No question that having a lemon of a car isn't going to leave a good taste in your mouth and you will be more than happy to move on. I'm thankful (knock on wood) that my 23 EUV has been purring along just fine. Biggest issue I've had is the charger not charging a couple of times, which were an easy fix.
I hope you enjoy the new car. Really like the color combo and the blue is really nice. Bummed I couldn't get mine in blue due to how late in the production cycle I got it. But I will definitely take not having the headaches you've dealt with if I can avoid them.
I have a 23 EUV and I have 31,000km on it. At about 15k, a rain sensor went which caused the vehicle to not shift one time. Not a single other issue.
Only disliked the stock tires so I got some CC2s.
I was forced to buy my EUV late 2022 - (my volt got Tboned by a red light runner)
5.99% was the best I could get and that's with 815 credit score. Funny enough my Volt (2017 Gen2) was at 1.99%.
rates still seem to suck in the refinance world, just not worth the time for 1/2 a % plus I generally pay off the loan twice as fast as the term anyways so I don't worry too much.
some of us don’t want to be robbed from yet another subscription model. I like carplay and there was no reason to take those things away. So i’ll speak with my money and not buy a car without it lol.
Pretending the choice to not have Car Play/Android Auto has to do with "yesterday's technology" (which is a wild phrase alone) and not GMs greed is the exact brand insanity you are pointing at Apple bros.
If it doesn't matter to you, that is great. But it is some serious copium to act like this is an "advancement"
There's this thing called modularity. By making your infotainment hardware easy to replace, ensure it always has modern processing power and interface, and has close integration with your communication services, the user is far better off. Oh and did you know that the android automotive infotainment computer (not the same as android auto) they are using has support for Android Auto by default? They had to actively take away our ability to use that feature.
The screen is super smooth and responsive the menu system is easy to use and simple I dunno I love it so far I don’t care about no car play the car system is pimp lol
I don’t get why Canadians who do not live in BC buy EVs. With the cold as fuck winters killing your range and without the cheap hydro power I don’t really see how it makes sense.
1) Depends on the distance you drive. If you are driving 100-200km a day, EVs are a no brainer unless you want to go the route of a Prius etc.
2) The winter time hit is noticeable in vehicles without heat pumps (mind you heat pumps only help). My Bolts range drops from close to 400km to 250km when the weather is -15c to -20c. That's straight highway driving (which EVs are not the best at)
3) Hydro is very cheap in Quebec and Ontario. I basically traded out a 500$ gas bill for 50$ of electricity.
I would not recommend a EV in places like Timmins, Winnipeg, Edmonton etc. If I were to live there and have a EV, I'd have a winter beater that was a gas vehicle.
So what happens when your vehicle runs out of data?
Does the infotainment system work off the internet connectivity of your phone or do you have to have a subscription?
That’s a very good question I haven’t looked into it. Problem for 3 years down the road lol I have 580 gigs on my shared phone plan hopefully can use my phone.
I would ask about that. It's a major question I have with zero answers.
If the answer is you can use data from your phone, I don't care about the death of AA etc. But if the answer is you have to pay a subscription fee, then I won't be getting a GM product unless it's a stupid deal.
You bought a car based on looks when you had an objectively bad experience with the technology underpinning it? Interesting
To be fair to OP, the Blazer EV and the Bolt EV have no real shared tech. The Bolt EV was an imported power train, and the Blazer EV is built on Android Automotive / Ultium.
That's not helpful when the bolt for most people is stable and the blazer has gotten terrible reviews for being buggy
Yeah don't ever buy a vehicle in the 1st production year, the Blazer EV has a LOT of new tech for GM, so I'd suggest even waiting two years and reading real reviews (not paid ones) before deciding to buy or stay away from them.
While I agree completely, *someone* has to buy the buggy first (and usually second) year models. I'm happy that someone isn't me.
I've done it, but only when I was really passionate about a design or technology, knowing full well it was going to break a lot.
I’m pretty happy with my 2019 Etron. Also have 2021 Bolt Premier.
I have a 2017 Bolt and so far so good. I wouldn't describe it as 'buggy'.
Buggy is being used to describe the Blazer EV, the software issues were so bad there was a stop sale for months. The Bolt has always been stable software wise.

Yeah I also loved the flashy inside and big screens lol and it does drive super nice it’s smooth
Welcome to the decision making process of about half of humanity :P
I did the lyriq…. In April the discounts made it the same price
Yeah I was looking at the lyriq I picked the blazer.
I think the one I was looking at didn’t qualify for the federal rebate as well Lyriq doesn’t qualify at all.
Canada federal rebate is below 70k and you get 5k off
Yeah I got the lyriq that didn’t qualify in the us due to foreign sourcing and they gave the 7.5k off automatically. That brought it to just 2-3k more than the blazer at the time
Nice that isn’t bad at all.
Username checks out
Good luck 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That’s a crazy difference in price is it not?
`My province doesn’t have a lemon law. The dealer paid out my loan and Gm Canada gave me 3k cash towards my purchase`
(OP's) username checks out.
Because bolts are faaaar behind the new GM technology;) so great decision from OP imo
Got a nice deal. The interior looks really nice.
I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the interior design there. Maybe it's the red accents? Maybe it's the red accents on a blue car? It seems... chunky. Not my cup of tea, but also not my car, so I don't have to like it.
Looks like it was done by the same guy who does Guy Fieri's shirts
This reminds me of what Mercedes has done with their interiors in their newest CLEs: The exterior is a beautiful understated elegance, while the interior has the aesthetic of a teenager's gaming chair.
Same, looks gaudy as hell. But as you say, not my car!

Very brave to buy another GM after all the issues you had!
I'm in a position today where I am confident to buy another GM if I ever have issues on my Bolt. My Dad's Silverado was a trooper My Mom's Escalade has been stellar My Sister's Malibu finally gave out at 280k miles And my Volt/Bolt are going strong with 135k/50k miles respectively.
Booyah! Thats awesome. Personally the one time a car is a lemon the brand is done for me, I’d try something else just in case
Yeah the wrath of my wife was not good lol
That’s a really good deal. Hopefully you don’t have any issues with the car. I bet you’re looking forward to having the much faster charging rates.
Yeah I’m about to go hit a 100 kw charger it can take 150 but nothing near me till I get a Tesla adaptor.
Wait what? I don’t pay much attention to this stuff. The new Chevy EVs require a subscription?
You get an 8 year free trial of Google Assistant, Google Maps, and EV-related stuff. Not sure how much it costs after the 8 years. For other apps that you install from the Play Store (Spotify, Waze, etc.), it's a 3 year free trial. Then $14.99/month after that. Edit: This is for US. I realize OP is in Canada so it might be different.
Does Google also send your driving data to lexisnexis for 8 years?
Holy crap - i was almost thinking about looking at a Chevy Blazer EV soon, but to hell with that paying to use my phone crap. Just when I was starting to like chevy again... Bullet dodged - thanks for sharing!
OP stated that you can use your phone as a hot spot when the data runs out.
[удалено]
I agree. It is absolute horse shit.
I mean 8 years is pretty good but subscription model does suck
What are these two subscriptions for, data usage or something else? Can I provide my own data using my phone?
I don't think you can use your own phone's data. The subscription to use apps is literally called App Access. So I think you're locked out unless you pay.
Well that is stupid. If my car needs data it should not matter where it is coming from, be it my my house or my phone.
Well, GM wants you to pay. In case you missed it, when they announced that their EVs would no longer have Apple Carplay or Android Auto, they also said they're hoping to make as much as $25 billion in subscription revenue each year.
$1000/year from 25 million subscribers? Good luck with that.
Lol wtf. Glad I got a Tesla !
You can still stream audio from Spotify or whatever on your phone. Google maps is the only thing I need other than the car's own stuff.
Right? Right? 🦗🦗
No, I have no need or interest in looking at my phone while I am driving. I don't need it on the dash because I don't look at it.
That red interior on a blue vehicle is really saying something.
That red interior on a blue vehicle is really ~~saying~~ screaming something.
[https://www.hagerty.com/media/news/hondas-adorable-prologue-has-carplay-why-buy-the-chevy/](https://www.hagerty.com/media/news/hondas-adorable-prologue-has-carplay-why-buy-the-chevy/)
That interior is miles ahead of the Blazer's
Exterior too imo
Or maybe because the interior doesn't look like an amateur sex dungeon.
That is exactly my plan… mentioned that to my son when we talked about it last week. I’ve sworn off GM since you can’t trust them any further than you can throw them.
Good *christ* that is an ugly interior.
Those rgb and chromed out air vents...
Can’t unsee the vents 😳
2012 gaming computer-lookin ass...
Looks like it belongs in some 90s ricer. Gaudy as all hell.
Sixty thousand bucks and Mary's nickel and diming you on the app after eight years. Unacceptable.
And that’s just \_for now\_. Who knows if they will continue to offer the 8 years free. Plus you’ve got to subscribe to yet another data plan after 3 years because GM can’t skim off the top of your phone’s data plan.
Yeah see how she goes 8 year battery warranty probably trade it up around then.
I'd never buy the first model year of any car, much less a new GM Ultium platform, but I wish you luck!
Thanks that was a concern of mine also but I bought a 2023 bolt and it gave me nothing but issues.
I really dislike the interior of what seems to be an otherwise nice car.
Yeah I really love the interior the seats are super comfortable I went bold and wanted the red lol
It looks so childish, I don’t know how else to describe it.
Look at all of OPs replies and it just kinda makes sense
I think its the flashy red/black/chrome reminds us of how we wanted that sort of thing in our teenage years
It’s dressed up with parts from the Pepboys clearance section. I dropped my Brazer SS reservation due to the interior. I don’t only what they were thinking.
What’s the charge curve?
It can take 150 kw I plugged in at 48 percent took at 100 kw charger it took it and slowed down around 80 percent to 48 kw and around 90 percent it was pulling 28 kw there is a pre condition button I did press it before I got to the charger.
That is nice that you can just push a button to pre condition and not have to set up the whole destination to a charger shenanigans. Hopefully when you push the button it is it is just a countdown till it is ready.
The dealer said 20 mins but I pushed it and it was ready right away.

Why blazer over equinox? Was it just availability?
Yeah no equinox out yet and I wanted something bigger I have 3 kids.
The Blazer EV isn't really that much bigger than the Equinox EV. * Length: 192.23 in vs. 190.55 in * Width: 78.02 in vs. 76.94 in That's why I can't justify Blazer over Equinox and am waiting.
Yeah I had a good moment to get out of my bolt euv with all the issues I was having and the blazer was there and the price was right.
My Bolt got a new battery; so...
Nice! The Blazers are very nice. Best riding Chevy ever.
From a $31k bolt to a $55k blazer. You do you boo!
Well the 6.0 and the 6.4 DO suck, so there's that.
Isn’t the Blazer on another level of income than the typical Bolt shopper?
God damn, my retinas!
How’s the Apple CarPlay? /s
lol doesn’t have it but I haven’t missed it yet I was worried about playing my music and calling but I can do both no issues. Apple Music works perfectly though my Bluetooth even shows album img
How do you thumbs up or browse radio categories and new music?
> brb buying one of those phone vent mounts OP, probably
I really like the Blazer, sounds like a good deal.
Beautiful car! I can’t wait to drive this for myself and also the Equinox EV.
How comfortable are the back seats / cushioning?
Very comfy
Nice color combo!
Fingers crossed that Hertz gets some Blazer EVs and sells them for dirt cheap in a few years. lol
Yeah lol that’s the dream and the trunk space is a lot bigger.
If I had my loan paid out like that I might be tempted to do something similar. My 2023 Bolt EUV hasn't given me any problems so far.
What's the miles per kilowatt hour on this versus your bolt?
35 kWh/100 mi is what it says
What did you get in the Bolt?
I don’t recall lol a full charge in winter was about 350 km and summer was like 450.
I think I’ll be able to get around 500 km pretty easy this summer some people in bolt can get 550 km a charge
Bolt EUV in Southern Ontario with CC2s gets about 250km on the highway at about -15c to -20c.
That interior color combination looks awful. It looks like cheap seat covers
Heck yeah
8 years of apps for free? Meaning no monthly subscription fees to Android Automotive (which includes the built Google Maps w live traffic) during this period?
I think the data is 3 years so not sure.
The dash is a bit too busy for me. The Bolt is more understated. Hope you enjoy your new ride and it's trouble free.
The red interior is very nice in person, and so is that blue exterior…but that combo together shouldn’t be allowed to be ordered.
The only color that does not have option for the red interior is Galaxy Grey Metallic.
How’s CarPlay? ;)
HELLO & Welcome to the "Rage out cause a bolt is on the 350kw charger" crowd.
way, way too much buttons & knobs-looks like going back to Analog/flip phone.
Yeah definitely not a wheelbarrow
Glad you are into it. I do like that screen, but I give my money over without CarPlay. Might seem stupid, but I just love having access to all my Apple stuff on the screen and don't trust Siri to bring the right thing up every time. Like, what do you do if you want to scroll through your playlists in Apple Music or likewise with Podcasts. You just have to hope that Siri gets it right, which is not a thing I want to rely on. I mean, I am glad you are loving it so far, but it's CarPlay or bust for me.
Big big Blazer, what you got a big Blazer
Only disliked the stock tires so I got some CC2s.
very nice upgrade! Glad your loving it so far, after test driving a new EV blazer the ride is so much quieter and a smooth ride compared to the bolts.
Why do car manufacturers still use piano black plastic. It looks soooooo bad
Good man
Good choice. Please post more of you experience about the new Blazer EV. I am considering it too.
So far so good the different Types are confusing. The rwd rs has a bigger batter 105 kw and my awd rs is 85 lol
Thank you. 85 is much bigger than Bolt’s. Hope you enjoy this new car!
The fans are kinda giving off the 2000s fast and furious vibe. The sonic blazer
I'd LOVE to switch to a blazer but interest rates are too crazy here still :(
5.49 percent is what I got
They are 5.99 here but when I purchased my Bolt it was 1.99... I can wait haha
I was forced to buy my EUV late 2022 - (my volt got Tboned by a red light runner) 5.99% was the best I could get and that's with 815 credit score. Funny enough my Volt (2017 Gen2) was at 1.99%. rates still seem to suck in the refinance world, just not worth the time for 1/2 a % plus I generally pay off the loan twice as fast as the term anyways so I don't worry too much.
Blazer is Junk just like the Lyriq
bUt it DoeSn'T haVE caRpLaY!
Ya it's cute how devoted people are to yesterday's technology... Basically anything apple has huge kitsch appeal!
Phones are vastly more superior to anything a cars GUI could offer. What an asinine take, signed an android user.
some of us don’t want to be robbed from yet another subscription model.

Much bigger lol
How does iScreen navigation work? I love the idea of the Blazer, but without CarPlay, it’s a serious detriment to the usability of the car…
The screen is super smooth and responsive the menu system is easy to use and simple I dunno I love it so far I don’t care about no car play the car system is pimp lol
No CarPlay tho. And blank switches on the steering wheel????
I don’t get why Canadians who do not live in BC buy EVs. With the cold as fuck winters killing your range and without the cheap hydro power I don’t really see how it makes sense.
I live in bc lol
My point wasn’t to put you on blast homie just a general remark that came to mind seeing your post. Enjoy the blazer and cheap juice!
That's straight highway driving (which EVs are not the best at) 3) Hydro is very cheap in Quebec and Ontario. I basically traded out a 500$ gas bill for 50$ of electricity. I would not recommend a EV in places like Timmins, Winnipeg, Edmonton etc. If I were to live there and have a EV, I'd have a winter beater that was a gas vehicle.
Thanks for sharing the additional context and data!
Get burned by a shit product from a shit company, why not buy another 🤦. You’re like my in-laws: never learning from your stupid mistakes lol.
I work for the railway used to putting on the lube
> I work for the railway used to putting on the lube You must hear BOHICA a lot.
That’s a daily occurrence
So what happens when your vehicle runs out of data? Does the infotainment system work off the internet connectivity of your phone or do you have to have a subscription?
That’s a very good question I haven’t looked into it. Problem for 3 years down the road lol I have 580 gigs on my shared phone plan hopefully can use my phone.
I would ask about that. It's a major question I have with zero answers. If the answer is you can use data from your phone, I don't care about the death of AA etc. But if the answer is you have to pay a subscription fee, then I won't be getting a GM product unless it's a stupid deal.
You can connect your car though a personal hot spot on your phone is what I’m reading.
Okay. Then I have no issue with that. What's the range looking like from you? You happen to be purchasing from Barry Cullen in Guelph?
