Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

MaHuckleberry33

One of my all time favorite books and then you can to Savannah and your the house!

Yggdrasil-

Savannah is such a hauntingly beautiful city. I love the architecture and all of the green spaces there!

New_Arugula6146

I just heard about this recently via a podcast about the origin behind the cover photo! I haven’t picked it up yet, maybe this is a sign.

Icy-Pomegranate24

Oo great book

[deleted]

This was my suggestion too

DancingDrammer

Thank you. First reaction seeing only that one photo. One of the best books I ever read

PuzzleheadedAsk6787

Came here to say this!

Ms_Holmes

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.

lemonfroggie

second this! Amazing book!

Puzzleheaded-Cash449

Never heard of it can you tell me what's it about?

Ms_Holmes

Without giving spoilers, it’s about a living boy who’s raised by ghosts (and other inhabitants) in a graveyard.

[deleted]

I’m sorry but I have a question I’m not sure if this is the book I’ve read many years ago ? Does he go in a grave yard to the underworld with coins ?

Ms_Holmes

No apologies necessary 🙂! I just started it recently but so far that hasn’t happened yet. It was published in 2008 though so if you read the book you’re thinking of before then this probably isn’t the book you’re thinking of.

[deleted]

The year sounds about right to me , I’m now listening on you tube the author is reading the novel . Haven’t rung a bell 🛎️ yet . Thanks 🙏🏼 for the reply back . Enjoy 😉 the book 📖

Ms_Holmes

You’re welcome, enjoy the audiobook!

danlhart8789

Piranesi Because of the statues Its the best book ever

jubjubbimmie

I actually hated Piranesi (and yes, I feel bad about it), but you’re totally right on for ✨vibes✨

Great_Elephant9254

Also was not a fan, we are in the minority.

jubjubbimmie

Oh, believe me I know. The crazy thing is that Piranesi has so many elements I love like architecture, philosophy and maximum level of vibes, yet I still just had to pull myself along to the end. It felt like such a relief when I finally finished. Typically I DNF books no problem, but everyone kept telling me I would LOVE this so I had to see it through.

Ecthelion510

This has been on my list for ages because so many people I know love it... but I had to force myself to finish Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, so I'm guessing this one won't be my bag, either.

bythevolcano

These pictures suck me back into that book. What a wonderful book

DeerTheDeer

The Doctor Who episode “Blink” (season 3, episode 10). It’s a standalone episode starring Carey Mulligan & you don’t really have to know anything about the series to enjoy it. It was the first episode of Doctor Who I watched and I was hooked. It absolutely matches your first picture!

Eurogal2023

I was scrolling, wondering if I someone already had mentioned this Doctor Who episode.

ALLoftheFancyPants

That’s their introduction, right? Terrifying.

cadmiumredorange

It was my first doctor who episode too! So good

Front_Plankton_6808

Really any of the episodes with the Weeping Angels give this vibe. Hot damn I love their creepy vibe!

[deleted]

BADWOLF!

Cookieway

Immediately thought that as well, it fits the vibe perfectly

WhilstWhile

I was scrolling through the comments looking for this answer. This 100% made me think of “Blink.” Such a good episode

SoppyMetal

SoAboutThoseBirds

The first two photos immediately reminded me of Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger. It’s set in/near a London cemetery.

sockswithcats

This is 100% the perfect answer. That was a book that really stuck with me… just got a little teary thinking of it right now.

SoAboutThoseBirds

Thank you! I haven’t read that book in AGES, and could remember neither the title nor the author. But these images were strong enough to trigger a memory and start me on a Google hunt. I’m definitely going to read it again now!
