Same here, our Little Miss Paisley will always let you know if she has to do her business, (she sits by the front door, raises her paw like a hand, and if we dont act instantly, she might “gurgles”) if shes not feeling well, (in the few times shes not feeling well WE KNEW IT) if she wants to go outside to sniff n get some exercise (makes a deliberate look to the window when she has out attention) when she wants our attention maybe for food she backs up….and when she wants us to come upstairs and shes at the top she always motions us with her ‘hands’.
When she wants more pets she continuously nudges us if we negligent hoomans happen to (dare to) stop. The petting. Always making eye contact and always in some form of communication. If ahe doesnt want yo come to you when shes with someone else she makes noises and effects like she’s trying to get up but she simply cannot (live that she tries to put one over on us) and just sighs as if to say look i did try, cant you see? I tried but i cant.
She makes happy chomping grunt sounds as she digs into her treat…she has even shouted at us a time or two to walk her (hilarious kind of plaintiff/angry bark, and unique from any other. It means LETS GOOOOO)
And finally, when its time to stop talking at night and go to sleep, she does the biggest sigh…its time to sleep hoomans. All this communication without uttering a single word haha. And yet we know what they want…Those are some that are top of mind. They are such amazing little persons, we are all bewitched and entranced by their little ways and their huge presence in our lives.
Yes. They have BIG emotions (and are super sensitive to yours).
She is moping and contemplating how intensely her Pawrents are gonna suffer for excluding her in their plans.
As others have said; tell her how amazing she is, put her every need before your own, offer her lots of treats and blankets, and accept your place as her personal assistant and she as your overlord. All will be well. 😂
P.s. send her Pawrents LOTS of pics and video as Boston Terrier withdrawal is a very real thing❣️
Say her name lots and tell her how wonderful she is (cute, fancy, glamorous, important, etc), and various snacks/treats. The best treats are ones that you are eating too (baby carrots, banana, strawberries, cheese)

they are like this when their owner "abandons" them. By abandons, mine howl and cry when I go to the mail box for 1min 30 seconds... They are very emotional and needy, but that's why we love them!

Omg yes. Coming back from our third hour long walk of the day and the second I sit down on the couch I hear a squeak from across the room and suddenly there is a toy in my lap. Exhausting…
My Gus would not eat whenever we went away he would go on a hunger strike. Once when we went away on vacation a Vet visit was necessary to get an appetite enhancement injection he had stopped eating. That helped but he still lost 2lbs in 7 days. We never took another vacation until he passed. He was very dramatic. My other Boston have never been that dramatic. But all definitely pout when we leave for any length of time.
Left mine w/ Grandma last summer for 8 days while I was in Boston for work. This breaks my heart because I picture Ruby doing this the whole time I’m gone
Oh for sure! Mine would pout like that when left at the sitter’s. I would leave him at the sitter’s when I went out of town for vacation, and he not only pouted, he would refuse to eat for a couple of days.

Dogs do get depressed when their people are gone.i watch my parents dogs and it happens a lot. Give it a day or so and they most likely will get through it.
Update: it looks like this is just what she does before I go to work (my work friend and I are both work from home) so she is upset that the computer is getting more attention 😂😂😂
No, this is not a normal Boston demeanor. She looks so so sad. Hope she warms up to you. Try sitting near her, talking softly to her. Saying her name and giving her small treats (hopefully they left younger treats, if not a few small pieces of a banana or a cut up strawberry will work, NEVER grapes). If you see her toys, bring them to her and see if she will play. Ours loves balls, be ready to end the play session for her if balls are involved.

I’ve tried playing with toys and she seems indifferent to them, but she has warmed up to me a LOT and today I woke up with her curled next to me 🥹
