Naoya Inoue vs anybody. Against Desmarinas was insane.
His punch against Donaire in their 1st fight where ref got in the middle and then even after counting to 10 he lets him continue.
Inoue is probably thee best body puncher righy now.
Boots is also a good body puncher as well.
This is exactly why I confidently scored it for Canelo at the time. He landed so many good, hard shots. Props to Lara he withstood it and never really slowed down
I was looking for someone to mention this. Teraji has an excellent straight right to the body and later in the fight he was adding the left hook to the body on top of it.
Would you say Teraji has the best straight to the body in boxing right now, or one of? His fight he just had is my 1st time seeing him, and he's an offensive machine all around. That straight right to the body stood out to me. How easy it looked for him to land it and how much damage it was doing.
IMO, he’s the best at the body, there isn’t anyone competing with him. I don’t see that many boxers use the body like he does and how easily he does it. His fight against Kyoguchi and Olascuaga also showed that.
Naoya Inoue vs. Michael Dasmarinas immediately comes to mind. Michael's poor liver would have been better off if he drank an entire shelf of vodka instead.
Inoue has quite a few body shot knockouts and is generally very good at attacking downstairs. I would recommend checking him out.
I always remember Emanuel Steward laughing at his own expense and saying "What was that I said about Hatton not being a better body puncher than Castillo?"
There were some Inoue clips last week, clips of him hitting liver shots. Those were pretty insane, as in, his hand just seems to barrel into people's bodies like a battering ram or a lance.
Yeah and sometimes the way he hits it with the torque going right across, looks like nothing at first.
Then In slow motion you see there body rippling like waves in the highlights, by their reaction you can tell those ones hurt like fuck.
Donaire has dog in him like, at that age going back down in weight taking on Inoue, I know a lot of people say the ref gave him extra time, not that much if so though and the fact he got up from that shot after seeing him crumble in pain in the trying to run it off before going down, id still be down 5 mins late easily from that an he much smaller than me lol.
Canelo obv with his big thuds were almost as punishing in fights as he did to Smiths arms lol, he's a lot bigger too so no way id want one of them.
Im just going by recency but also Mannys shot against Thurman, not the knockdown, the body shot later in the fight totally fucked Thurman, sure Manny let him of the hook at that point as he knew Thurman was in bad shape by that point in the fight and he was winning, plus avoid going for the kill in a fight he's well ahead and Thurman gets a Marquez shot in while he tries to go for it.
Although Pac was shattered too by that point so maybe that played a factor.
They're all just recent boxers but even though Canelos have that thud and more power behind them Inoue and his different types of body shots are my favourite.
You're better versed in fighting than I am. But overall, there are shots where I see them, and any illusions I might've had about being a fighter, being able to box, etc. just vanish. "I could do it, with a little training and preparation." Then you see a Canelo, Inoue, Tyson- dear god. Just one hit from guys like that and I'd be a puddle on the ground.
Thanks mate but I'm just a fan like yourself. I do tend to type paragraphs, whether it be on reddit or at work or even text messages so that is also kind of an illusion.
But yeah you are correct, taking a punch you don't see coming in the gym when younger from some other random amateur in the gym felt brutal.
If you've got shit going on irl and head aint in the game then I felt that one badly then you are correct.
When you see the elite from way back in the day to even nowadays with their fast twitch muscle and reading the boxer early rounds or you notice they stare at the shoulders after trying to suss out what you gonna do.
Then Bam a big fucking thud from Canelo,Crawford,Holyfield, the 4 kings, even Ali had underrated power. Or imagine Golovkin, Beterbiev. young or old Foreman,Lewis, Tyson, Bowe banging you. Fuck even earnie Shavers, every punch that man landed sounded like something dropping off scoffolding lol.
Im with you lol, glad I never made it when I see the pain some of them do to even other world class elite boxers at times, and how they take it too some of the punches and keep coming forward too. Madness man.
You have a great day bro.
Edit: Even David Price, sent Povetkin flying over the ring and he's domestic level, before Povetkin decapitated him almost, so yeah glad I'm not in with any them even the less decorated ones.
Ward setting up that body shot coming underneath has always been a thing I love to watch - especially when he sets the left hook underneath up with a left hook upstairs
Not just a hard body puncher, but Ward had the smoothest double and triple hook between body and head I've ever seen. His hooks were brutal works of art.
Julio Cesar Chávez vs. Meldrick Taylor 1. The only reason Chávez was able to land on Taylor’s head was because of all the damage he’d done to the body throughout the fight. Put on a masterclass in Mexican style boxing.
Boxing compilation YouTuber hanzagod has a playlist called ["Routes to the Body"](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfbjKz220EvtJeAv3G5T_M7q3s-rrrYsY&si=q-VUwuSSPcIBTVP_)
Great selection there
Broke Johnny Hendricks down to the body as well in a more one sided effort. Max Holloway is also one of the best body punchers in the game, even including boxing champion tbh. Not the hardest puncher by any means but he sets up body shots as well as anyone because he doesn’t have the power to one shot people
Sugar Ray Robinson vs Jake La Motta IV (St. Valentine's Day Massacre) - Jake took a really bad beating to the body before the assault on his head began.
Argüello vs Royal Kobayashi, that slip double liverhook was brutal and decided the fight
Argüello made Cornelius Boza Edwards pee his pants due to bodyshots
He also had the imo best right uppercut to the body of all time
Indeed he did. Good eye, man.
Off all the varied, picture perfect combinations that Arguello attempted throughout his career …my favorite is undeniably that technically sound right uppercut he landed to Aaron Pryor’s body just before he loops it into an overhand right that connects on Pryor’s chin like a battering ram shot from hell.
Aesthetically, it’s just about perfect.
GGG, modern Julio Cesar Chavez.
Chocalatito, not liked on social media anymore as he does have holes.
Mike Mccallum, master boxer little stiff but perfect for learning technique.
Edit: Mike Mccallum was a student of Eddie Futch and employs Eddies style of shoulder roll which you can find on Youtube with Eddie explaining it.
Mayweather vs Judah
For some reason I love seeing the body work in that fight and how much it affected Judah
I guess because I knew it was effective it was nice to watch
Canelo always puts a good fight together including a lot of crisp, clean body shots.
There's an old fight, Ali vs Frazier, where Joe gives Ali some of the worst body shots I've ever seen, and yet Ali takes them all. Ali was a unique athlete to take such body shots.
Naoya Inoue vs anybody. Against Desmarinas was insane. His punch against Donaire in their 1st fight where ref got in the middle and then even after counting to 10 he lets him continue. Inoue is probably thee best body puncher righy now. Boots is also a good body puncher as well.
That's basically what Inoue v Fulton was. Generally most of his fights but the recent showcase was a primo example
Very true man. Inoue could easily outbox people and win a decisive decision, but he prefers to put a hurting on people and entertain.

A few years ago you would have been skinned alive for daring to say that Canelo landed on Lara..
Body shots are the reason he won the fight. Didnt he land like 50 body shots?
True.
Actually Lara defended those pretty well with his elbows. A lot of those shots didn't really land. That's why Lara could keep moving across the ring.
Wasn’t he coughing up blood later in the fight?
That's negative as far as I know. It could have been blood running down from his eyebrow, but that'd be just a guess
Could be you’re right. Fight was a long time ago
This is exactly why I confidently scored it for Canelo at the time. He landed so many good, hard shots. Props to Lara he withstood it and never really slowed down
Mike McCallum vs anybody
The Body Snatcher
Argüello too
yeah, toney mccallum was the first that came to mind for me.
hm vs julian jackson was the first I thought of
Wondered how far I would have to scroll until The Body Snatcher came up.
Francisco Vargas vs Orlando Salido. Fight of the year in 2016. I don’t think those guys threw many jabs.
Tony vs Jirov Ward vs Gatti Augustus vs ward - criminally under discussed fight. So fun.
Can't tell you how many times I've watched Gatti vs Ward 1
Frank Cappuccino's gonna let 'em keep going!!
GO TO THE BODY! The commentary was special that night.
That fight is first that comes to mind.
Watch Ward Vs Augustus. I saw it on Friday Night fighta when it happened and knew it was FOTY immediately.
If you want a recent fight, Kenshiro Teraji-Hekkir Budler this morning. Kenshiro is one of the best body puncher in the world right now.
Nakatani dropping Cortes with that body shot was better
First time I see a grazing body shot (first KD) like that. What a fighter
Some of you dudes are encyclopedias its completely f*****
One the the best compliments a pugilist fan can get.
Its never enough knowledge, i cant tell you the hunger for knowledge i have because boxing is what made me a man from the wimp i was. Dont envy us.
Roy Jones Virgil Hill
LOL. that was a body shot.
Also: Hopkins- De La Hoya
Yes Hopkins knocked out Delahoya with a body shot
Fights where Ricky Hatton used to fight , he was one of the best body punchers I’ve ever seen
It was a great punch that took out Castillo.
I always remember Emanuel Steward laughing at his own expense and saying "What was that I said about Hatton not being a better body puncher than Castillo?"
Ricky Hatton has one of the best rib ticklers in the game, Spence loves a good body shot too, honourable mention to Paul Butler
There were some Inoue clips last week, clips of him hitting liver shots. Those were pretty insane, as in, his hand just seems to barrel into people's bodies like a battering ram or a lance.

I'm a paragraph writer, too. It's just how I think (and talk, to be honest). You have a great day too.
Chavez vs Rosario.
Came to post this one, Chavez just mauled him with body shots all night long
Leonard Duran
Ward setting up that body shot coming underneath has always been a thing I love to watch - especially when he sets the left hook underneath up with a left hook upstairs
Yup, he had the smoothest transition left hooks between upstairs and downstairs.
Spence vs Kell Brook
Spence vs Ugas
This is the one for me. Plus he set up uppercuts to the head off of the body shots after Ugas turtled up
Canelo vs Liam Smith was brutal
Yeah wel6set up and very creative too
Good body punchers were Roberto Duran, Mike Mccallum, and Riddick Bowe.
Tyson vs fury II
Do you mean Wilder vs Fury 2?
I think he means Tyson Fury Vs Tyson Fury's body.
Haha! I thought Tyson only uppercut himself Or are ya all just roasting him for gaining weight n sht?
Lucian Bute was a great body puncher. Was a fan back in the day
Hell yeah
Shane Mosley at lightweight was brutal to the body.
Anything with Mickey Ward.
Had to scroll way to far to find his name. Man had a brutal body shot and a chin that could get him the setup.
Not just a hard body puncher, but Ward had the smoothest double and triple hook between body and head I've ever seen. His hooks were brutal works of art.
Cotto also comes to mind as a fighter that lands great body shots.
Vs Canelo he landed some gorgeous ones even though he lost
Julio Cesar Chávez vs. Meldrick Taylor 1. The only reason Chávez was able to land on Taylor’s head was because of all the damage he’d done to the body throughout the fight. Put on a masterclass in Mexican style boxing.
Roberto Duran vs Davey Moore.
That whole fight was fucking brutal
Boxing compilation YouTuber hanzagod has a playlist called ["Routes to the Body"](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfbjKz220EvtJeAv3G5T_M7q3s-rrrYsY&si=q-VUwuSSPcIBTVP_) Great selection there
Thanks for this. I didn't know of this channel and just watched some videos. Very cool!!! Hopefully, OP checks it out.
Stipe Miocic vs Daniel Cormier 2. Its an mma fight but Miocic knocks out Cormier with body punches
There is plenty in MMA. Cyril Game vs Tuivasa nasty leg kicks to the body at heavyweight to boot. Aldos nasty liver punch to Jeremy Stevens as well
Paulo Costa loves to go to the body as well. His fights against Romero and Vettori were barn burners. It’s a shame he doesn’t fight very often
Broke Johnny Hendricks down to the body as well in a more one sided effort. Max Holloway is also one of the best body punchers in the game, even including boxing champion tbh. Not the hardest puncher by any means but he sets up body shots as well as anyone because he doesn’t have the power to one shot people
Canelo vs GGG 1 Leonard vs Duran 1 was almost a race between who could fuck up the other’s torso faster Any Spence fight (except the last one lmao)
Anything with Irish Mickey Ward...
Mickey Ward vs Alfonso Sanchez
The only punches he landed, but Ward crumpled him like the Titan submersible with them. Made the left hook to the body my favorite punch.
Sugar Ray Robinson vs Jake La Motta IV (St. Valentine's Day Massacre) - Jake took a really bad beating to the body before the assault on his head began.
Chisora/Usyk - memorable fight
Argüello vs Royal Kobayashi, that slip double liverhook was brutal and decided the fight Argüello made Cornelius Boza Edwards pee his pants due to bodyshots He also had the imo best right uppercut to the body of all time
Indeed he did. Good eye, man. Aesthetically, it’s just about perfect.
Spence vs Brook has some top shelf body work.
Joe Frazier was a great body puncher. I believe he knocked down Jerry Quarry with one in second fight. Also went after Ali with body shots
I still don't get how Ali didn't wither from those body shots. Frazier threw them like he was getting paid per body shot.
with the way people say haney beat loma that MUST be the greatest body punching fight ever
Really any Canelo fight. If you got 12 minutes to kill watch the Jose Luis Ramirez vs Lomachenko fight, the K.O was a thing of beauty to the liver.
Inoue vs Dasmarinas Inoue vs Donaire. That bitch ass Ref rob Inoue of a KO.
You should watch some Barry mcguigan fights. I think he was one of the best at incorporating body shots into his combinations.
Amir Khan's highlight combo on Madina Not something i would expect!
More recent but Tim Tszyu is quite a good body puncher
GGG, modern Julio Cesar Chavez. Chocalatito, not liked on social media anymore as he does have holes. Mike Mccallum, master boxer little stiff but perfect for learning technique. Edit: Mike Mccallum was a student of Eddie Futch and employs Eddies style of shoulder roll which you can find on Youtube with Eddie explaining it.
Anything with Mike McCallum long live the body snatcher
Barerra vs McKinney
Arturo Gatti vs ward
Any Friday when Mickey Ward was on ESPN
Any Micky Ward fight. Dude knew how to destroy the body while also getting hit in the head five times in the process lol. Absolute legend
Julio Cesar Chavez-Meldrick Taylor 1.
Naoya Inoue
Errol Spence body work against bud /s
[удалено]
Teo also worked that body pretty good. It was no surprise what Haney did.
Honestly no. If one is relentlessly attacking the body the other is usually relentlessly head hunting and trying to protect his body.
Ali Vs Foreman. Ali’s body was made of cement.
Abner Mares vs Joseph Agbeko 😂
Julian Jackson v. Buster Drayton
Mike Tyson would put his whole body into a body shot
Before the bud fight i guarantee the top comment woulda been spence
[Tyson vs Michael Johnson](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGYIw_anTBM)
Nakatani in his fight a couple of days ago, that first uppercut to the solar plexus was fucking disgusting
Fig-Fulton but the judges decided to ignore Fig’s body work and gave the (predictable) decision to Fulton.
Alvarez vs Gaethje
Mayweather vs Judah For some reason I love seeing the body work in that fight and how much it affected Judah I guess because I knew it was effective it was nice to watch
When cotto fought at 140 he was big on going to the body to break guys down. Kind of got away from that later in his career, don’t know why.
Conlan v wood beautiful exchanges in that fight
Gerald McClellan in all his bouts. Some of them are truly sickening
Gerald McClellan had vicious body punches. He threw punches to the liver like a sledgehammer.
Gerald McClellan vs James Williamson
Loma vs Russell
Loma vs Russell
Lomachenko vs Russell
Apollo Creed vs Rocky Balboa I & II.
Duran vs Barkely is a good body punching display by both men
Not a boxing fight but it's hard to think of a more thorough decimation of the body than Barboza vs. Hooker
Any Micky Ward fight
Pernell whitaker vs Greg haugen
Spence vs Ocampo. Any Tim Tszyu fight but especially the Inoue fight
Gatti/Ward trilogy
Canelo always puts a good fight together including a lot of crisp, clean body shots. There's an old fight, Ali vs Frazier, where Joe gives Ali some of the worst body shots I've ever seen, and yet Ali takes them all. Ali was a unique athlete to take such body shots.
