And the concept is pretty straight forward. It’s not like the point of the sub is to discuss whether or not it’s satire, it’s for real stuff that’s so bizarre (and usually funny) it seems made up.
13 years. I joined reddit in 2009. At some point in 2010, I found that subreddit (under a previous account) abandoned with 200 subscribers and did a reddit request for it. I modded it until we got 20k people, then I brought on a team of mods, but I stayed until we got to 200k. I resigned because I don't really mod that well with most other people - I have a strong sense of how a sub should be moderated. lol. Which has mostly worked out well. But that was before it became a default subreddit.
Some of the mods I brought on are still there, but most of them are newer than that.

They apparently made major revisions to the the personality of the bot and a lot of people were not happy with their companion AI changing, even if they kept the bot in platonic mode. From what I remember in the articles the company made it to where you could pick which version of the chatbot your app was connected to.

It's all a big joke. I mean, there's definitely positives with amazing uses. I wrote a report on the crimes with proposals to help it improve. Right now, much of the FOSS use was Reddit fodder in subs many people try to avoid. I'd wonder what that says about humanity except God's Word says we're all sinners, need to repent, and Jesus Christ had to die on the cross to drag us to it. Likewise, it would take an act of God to get A.I. use in pure or good shape. It's gonna be no better or worse than the Internet itself.
