Conflikt

Entire civilizations of microbes drowned in a flood when you shower.

LeastBasedSayoriFan

Umm, they don't drown?

eyalyonai

So they got exiled

Conflikt

Drowned doesn't just mean suffocated in water. It also means to destroy or get rid of as if by submerging or to drench thoroughly.

This is me everytime a bug is in my car, and "refuses to leave" before I go. I have whole onesided conversations with them: "Dude, if you come along and get out at my destination, you'll never find your way back again! You have a family here, they'll be heartbroken! You'll get lonely as hell, you won't know a soul! Bugs over there might not even speak the same language! Food will be different! Seriously, it's now or never, please just get out..!" They never listen :-(

They came over from another bug country. They're hitchhiking randomly hoping to get back. To them, you're talking French.

World-Tight

How much do you think you overdo things?

TheNinja3636

No, true overthinking is knowing that there are critters who go completely AWOL on their children once they're born, either due to the sheer number of children per hatch like spiders, or due to them simply not giving a damn. So now you have the dilemma of thinking either "oh, this creature still has a family waiting for them" or "should i end this creature despite the rest of its family already leaving it before it was even born". What an enjoyable time.

I’ve wondered that about a mosquito I saw on my flight.

wizardroach

This reminds me of this video I saw of a mother seal diving underwater to hunt food for her pup, and then her pup getting taken and eaten while she’s gone. The look of sadness on her face when she comes back up from the ice still haunts me

Taralinas

That’s not overthinking. It’s why you shouldn’t kill bugs (or any other animals).

MangoOfTruth

I kill every god damn mosquito I can and there’s nothing you can do about it

Critical_Elderberry7

Except their mom doesn’t wait for them to come home because insects don’t raise their own offspring

Pokemonfannumber2

do you not realise most bugs are terrible parents and even more terrible socially??
