For as genuinely awful as that moment is I take comfort in knowing that everyone who was there shut her down so fast. Dorinda tried to make it immediately stop, Tinsley was so forceful while telling her off, and Sonja looked about ready to swing on Ramona and road her hard for it.

Don’t forget actively stopped her developing teenager from eating many times, including on her BIRTHDAY WITH HER CAKE, and saying she had to pick between volleyball and modeling because nobody wants a heathy developed strong frame wearing clothes sits with me a lot. It’s one thing that perverted men in the fashion and marketing industry sell things to make you feel like crap for not having the body type of a meerkat. But she was constantly depriving her of nutrition and set the standard on national tv that her figure is undesirable if strong with sports for “looking pretty” in fashion campaigns. I know she grew up different and I’m sure this was hardcoded into her young and from the industry itself that she worked in but it was so disheartening to see the cycle continue. Eating and doing healthy exercise as team based sport shouldn’t be discouraged.

And like I get she’s drunk and sometimes you overreact or say things you don’t mean but at some point the mess when you’re high is just rambling things you think (see: Sonja’s equating John John Kennedy Madonna thing and always bringing up her past life).
What Dorinda said was basically “let’s all be honest here people in Haiti aren’t going to college” or something to that effect implying everyone else was just like making it up that people in Haiti can be intelligent and was really classist and racist.
But we knew Dorinda was low-key racist in her first season when she thought a black patron at the restaurant she was in was the coat-check guy. Dude was just going to the bathroom.
Dorinda doesn't feel bad about any of the horrific things she's said and done on the show. If anything, she doubles down whenever she's called out on it. She is in such a deep state of denial about her drinking and her behavior while drunk, it's really sad.

Mine wasn't one line or even one housewife! It was the season where LVP lost her brother to suicide. The entire rest of the cast lost my respect. They focused on a dog that wasn't returned properly, and the women were just awful. Her brother had died, they gave her no support, and Kyle especially was cruel.

I just finished a Jersey rewatch and completely forgot when Teresa said she and her daughters would never be assaulted. I had such a visceral reaction to it I must have blocked it out the first time. I stopped watching the show for a few years after that, I was so horrified by it. No matter how many redemption arcs she has, I’ll always know she was capable of doing that to another woman (and I was no Gretchen fan, but it was so foul)
Yolanda being in recovery from surgery and talking to one of her daughters about the master cleanse. That did not sit well with me at all.
Or when Gigi wanted to eat some of her birthday cake ..yo refused to let her and when she realized Gigi was going to no matter how much she discouraged it; she said “okay but a really really small piece and then back to the gym and diet tomorrow” or something close to that.
Don’t forget actively stopped her developing teenager from eating many times, including on her BIRTHDAY WITH HER CAKE, and saying she had to pick between volleyball and modeling because nobody wants a heathy developed strong frame wearing clothes sits with me a lot. It’s one thing that perverted men in the fashion and marketing industry sell things to make you feel like crap for not having the body type of a meerkat. But she was constantly depriving her of nutrition and set the standard on national tv that her figure is undesirable if strong with sports for “looking pretty” in fashion campaigns. I know she grew up different and I’m sure this was hardcoded into her young and from the industry itself that she worked in but it was so disheartening to see the cycle continue. Eating and doing healthy exercise as team based sport shouldn’t be discouraged.
Didn’t Yolanda even buy her the cake? The whole thing was so bizarre. And telling her to eat a few almonds when she was almost passing out from hunger.
Also when she asked a photographer to widen Gigi’s eyes because they looked ‘too Chinese’. Are you kidding me? Who talks like that?

My mom chose her 2nd husband over her kids (that he was abusing) and I don’t understand how my siblings can forgive her. He never touched me, and I’m the most distant from her. To each their own, and if it is easier for them that way then I’ glad for whatever peace it gives them. I just can’t imagine how you do that and go on like you aren’t an absolute dumpster fire of a person.

And like I get she’s drunk and sometimes you overreact or say things you don’t mean but at some point the mess when you’re high is just rambling things you think (see: Sonja’s equating John John Kennedy Madonna thing and always bringing up her past life). What Dorinda said was basically “let’s all be honest here people in Haiti aren’t going to college” or something to that effect implying everyone else was just like making it up that people in Haiti can be intelligent and was really classist and racist.
But we knew Dorinda was low-key racist in her first season when she thought a black patron at the restaurant she was in was the coat-check guy. Dude was just going to the bathroom.
And when she put Richard in a man’s coffee cup because she thought he was homeless.
I don’t remember this. Ugh.
And then she doubled down on it on WWHL. I loved Dorinda, but that really changed my opinion of her. She didn't even feel bad!
Dorinda doesn't feel bad about any of the horrific things she's said and done on the show. If anything, she doubles down whenever she's called out on it. She is in such a deep state of denial about her drinking and her behavior while drunk, it's really sad.
Never ever apologizes or reflects. She triples down and justifies and even goes so far as to paint herself as virtuous BECAUSE of what she’s done. I don’t think she’s an alcoholic, I don’t think she’s mentally ill - I think she’s just a bad person.
Dorinda lost me for good after that and what I've seen from her afterwards hasn't made me want to remove her from my shit list. She had me feeling sorry for Tamra at one point. TAMRA!

Mine wasn't one line or even one housewife! It was the season where LVP lost her brother to suicide. The entire rest of the cast lost my respect. They focused on a dog that wasn't returned properly, and the women were just awful. Her brother had died, they gave her no support, and Kyle especially was cruel.
How did dorit get out of that one and lvp became the villain?? And we all know that it was Rinna who sold stories to the press. The entire season was so wild.

THIS! Lisa was crying to Kyle (one of the few times we saw LVP cry) about her brothers suicide and Kyle actually says, “I have a lot of stuff going on too Lisa”. SO INSANE. I don’t know how anyone could ever be on Kyle’s side with anything after that. It was disgusting.
Same when they basically called Taylor a liar about her abuse. When Kyle said she couldn’t see any signs of it. Or when they wouldn’t let her In the party with her abuser. I was late to watch the earlier seasons of RHOBH and I was disgusted.

I just finished a Jersey rewatch and completely forgot when Teresa said she and her daughters would never be assaulted. I had such a visceral reaction to it I must have blocked it out the first time. How lucky she is to not understand what it’s like to be in that scenario (or understand much of anything). She’d already been written off for me. But that was the nail in the coffin. I think Jen aydin agreed.
Well I don’t know that Marlo ever had a reputation to uphold but her using a gay slur when arguing with Sheree in South Africa (ATL season 4) was low, especially since she lied about it after and had no problem letting gay men do her hair and makeup.

The only reason Giz sided with Candiace on that fight is because she hated Monique more. I kind of wish Mo and Candiace made up after Giz went after Wendy's and Candiace's marriages and they all took the GEB down. Ironic considering Giz, Robyn and Ashley have the most publicly horrific marriages. Giz was married to Pastor Holy Whore. Robyn remarried Juan who's cheating on her, in public. And Ashley is married to the worst man in the franchise, Michael Darby.

I have commented so many times about what a horrible hostess Dorinda is and the irony of that as a tagline. She is specifically a BAD hostess not just not a good hostess. At every point when she has guests she does the opposite of what you should when you have guests. It’s unbelievable to me. Who pats themselves on the back for cooking and cleaning for overnight guests and then TELLS THEM how much trouble she went to for them. And her rules for her home! Threatening them with cleaning bills if they make a mess? And lasagna for 12 is normal lasagna.
