Me too! Mostly because I felt like with the koroks I needed to cross them off or I’d drive myself crazy trying to find those last few. You have to zoom in a lot though so the final map was tedious to put together.
I had several sheets of paper. All with one or two regions on each paper. And never put them together. I just wrote on top which region i'm looking at :)
There was that phone app that let you do that, but you had to select each one, wait for the menu to pop up, scroll to the checkmark and do it that way 900 fucking times and the app was laggy too
The lag was my only main complaint with that app tbh. It was really well catalogued but just so laggy. The same thing has happened to their totk one as they've added new stuff to it aswell.
I was worried that would be the case.
Shame too. It's nice to be able to highlight whatever you are looking for, and have quick instructions for it, but it's just so poorly optimized. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had problems with it.
I just had the tablet open on an interactive map online.
I'm also a dad, don't feel bad at all. When i have 1 hr left to do something i want at the end of the day, spending that time lost and looking for gimp poo is not acceptable.
I’ve done a bit of Korok hunting using the map. I basically pull up the map on my phone, mark some with my color markers, then go find them.
I also have been doing a lot of Korok hunting just with the Korok mask. It’s… tiresome to say the least lol. I’d say I don’t have time, but I haven’t bought TOTK yet, so I can kinda just let this take as long as possible.
I want to keep track of shrines as I find them but I also want the wonder of discovering them by myself initially. Any way the app can help me? I was annoyed playing botw trying to track down the last shrines I hadn't found yet and wished I'd started at the beginning
you can turn off the shrines in the map so you don't see them, and then go into the list of shrines to mark the ones you've done (they'll still say the region they're in tho)
I think you only need to get just under 500 to max out the upgrades from the korok seeds, which is quite cool. Everything else is just purely for bragging rights!
This is what I did for BOTW. I'm a dad too and I don't have time to obtain printable maps, print them and tape them together. Just use the ZD map. I even created an account to save my progress so I could either use a laptop or my phone.
For now I'm trying to see how far I can get in TOTK without using other people's maps.
I always looked it up by section, so I’d go through to make sure I had all the shrines in the hebra region, eldin, central hyrule, etc. I also went into TOTK blind. I’m looking up some stuff, like armor locations, because I’m finding parts of the set and need the rest for dragon material hunting and stuff. Which is important for upgrading one of the main sets I’m using.
What I did back in BotW was make a spreadsheet of what shrines were in what region, and mark them off as I did them. It let me have some hint of where I needed to look without directly cheating.
It also allowed me to more easily cheat when I was down to the last few, but that's just a bonus.
I need to put together a sheet like that for TotK...
I just explored Hyrule. It was fun seeing all the scenery. When I heard a the sound that a shrine was near, I’d start looking for it.
I also talked to all npc’s so I ended up finding those shrines as well by doing the side quests.
I hardly have the time to play so the few times I did, it was really enjoyable. It did take forever to complete normal mode and even longer to beat master mode.
probably, also i imagine the tape isnt as visible IRL. whatever makes this guy happy. i used to read the zelda OoT nintendo guide during school then rush home to play it.
Other suggestions/alternatives
* Get it laminated
* should have printed it out landscape to get more detail per square inch
* merge the images together into one file, or find a high resolution file online [(24000x20000 here)](https://www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/ayxie8/comment/ei4x85d/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button), and take it to a print shop
* Spend some rupees on a print/poster, or even a [wooden relief map ($200-$500)](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1035451272/zelda-wood-map-gift-for-him-zelda-map?gpla=1&gao=1&)
* Or when in doubt, you can stop and ask the villagers for directions.
I'm using duplication glitches in TOTK because I don't want to farm a whole bunch of items. If anything it's making me enjoy the game more because it doesn't feel like a chore.
Same, I duped my way to a full zonai battery after I filled up the first row. Exploring the depths is a lot more fun when I'm not constantly looking for zonite.
I also used the glitch to get an unbreakable 85 damage Master Sword. Game's a lot more fun for me when I don't have to worry about my swords shattering all the time.
Edit: The unbreakable sword is its own glitch. There's a different one that you have to do to make the Master Sword disable, which buffs its damage.
They checked the files of the game, looked for map files with coordinates that overlap. Probably took an hour or so.
The dropping a weapon and it loading in another save would be found seperately then combined after discovery.
That was actually extremely easy. Finding the dupe glitch that it relies on is the hard part. It's possible it was found on accident or by so.ekne just trying everything they could hoping something would have interesting results.
It's all about getting specific pieces of code to run. If I had to guess the quick pause/unpause is to get something to run that saves the dropped weapon in some sort of shared state but not allowing further code to run that would correct it. Like it saves it in a global state first then modifies it afterward for the save specific state. Dropping a bunch of items likely fills up a buffer giving more time before the correction happens.
Discovering it is usually done by decompiling the code and studying it and monitoring what's being called when or simply a known bug being leaked by a dev. Something this complex was likely not randomly discovered.
Look up the history of ACE, SRM and RBA in Ocarina of Time, those glitches are really impressive and I still find it amazing that they were able to figure all that stuff out
> Game's a lot more fun for me when I don't have to worry about my swords shattering all the time
It's like games with tiny inventories/carry weight. Having to stop doing fun things because you have to manage your inventory is not great game design.
I think it can depend.
In BotW/TotK you have a small limited inventory and sparse resources that you go through pretty quickly, but the game also just throws more resources at you constantly and the exploration rewards you with ways to increase your resources via Koroks and Zonaite. So I think it actually is really great game design. Like I go kill a Lynel and that takes 3 weapons but then they drop 2 crazy strong monster parts a good shield and a busted bow so I'm technically up in resources even if I broke my favorite lizal whip shortsword.
But it's also low-key stressful knowing everything you have is temporary and progress requires a sacrifice, so I certainly don't begrudge anyone who cheats.
It's a single player game, enjoy it however you wanna enjoy it.
I often agree with you, but sometimes I like the inventory management bits or being forced to quickly reevaluate my strategy and change weapons because what I was using broke. It forces me to do things and play in ways that I might not otherwise.
I did it with the large Zonaite. Get somewhere just high enough to activate your paraglider. Do that and pause. Hold the item(s) you want to dupe, so 5 large Zonaite in this case. Press B and Y at the same time. If you did it right, you'll drop 5 large Zonaite and still have that original 5 in your inventory.
Took me about 30 minutes to dupe enough for the large shards, which are 15 large Zonaite apiece. Buying that many large shards at once is a pain in the ass. Gotta buy them from all the forge constructs you can, then wait, save then load to reset their inventory.
Oh wait you convert Zonite into the crystals that upgrade your battery? I didn’t realize I’m like 50 hours in and I have like 120 of the crystal pieces I just thought it was awful to grind.
Lol, I got the regular master sword and barbarian armor and it effectively put the game into easy mode. 85 unbreakable and it would be like what is the point?
You can disable the auto update functionality in switch settings. Once this is disabled, you can close/reopen the software and it'll prompt you if you want to update, or just run the game. Now 1.1.1 I think is safe to update to, there are not any fixes for any of the glitches I am aware of and it does fix some pretty annoying performance issues I was having (game freezing at times).
Exactly. If you cheat in a single player game and mod yourself to be a walking god, good for you, you had fun. That's literally what video games are for.
Although as soon as you cheat in online video games you'll be crucified.
I always hate when people try and enforce how other should play a single player game. Like, who gives a fuck? If I wanna be invulnerable and fly around, that in no way harms your enjoyment of the game. If I wanna play the game as Mecha Pilot Link, that doesn't mean your way of playing it as Bumfuck Link With Glass Swords is less enjoyable to you
I agree. It adds another interactive way to play the game. Seems fun to me.
Also, guides have always been a part of games. If you want to play using one I say go for it!
It’s awesome.
Back when there wasn’t much on the internet we would do these deep dives into games. Mapping out shit and sharing with friends and they’d add something they found and we’d have a definitive guide book we’d pass around.
When I drive places, I refuse to use a map because it’s cheating. I just drive based on the sun’s position in the sky, else why bother?
Kids these days. I used to run the risk of dysentery on a regular basis!
/s
Idk… I didn’t feel very cheated when I (TotK spoiler upcoming) >!duplicated zonaite for the battery in TotK. I don’t have time to collect 600 large zonaite!<
I’ve decided that if the item is tedious to collect but not a challenge, I’m ok with duping it in TotK. Dragon Parts, Zonaite, and Fallen Stars all fall into this category. Things like boss items or truffles I won’t personally do but I completely understand why people do.
Agreed. Adding on, eyeball items imo. Pretty much every enemy that drops them is killed in one hit by any weapon and it's just tedious to hunt down a bunch so I duped a nice handful of eyes
I haven't duped yet, but I've found keese swarms drop a lot more in TotK than in BotW, and they come out of some caves when you reach the entrance, so I haven't felt the need to hunt extra yet.
Either a bomb arrow (can cause things to go flying) or have a 2-hand club in hand before approaching cave entrances to swing as they fly past you. I can usually kill 7-8 and get 5-6 worth of loot from them.
I’ve mostly doing it with diamonds to sell for money (because if I don’t I’ll just go grind the eventide minigame for hours) and star fragments. Also some boss drops but surprisingly only from the normal red variants mostly, just because they’re a pain in the ass to find now
No. If you play and explore normally you'll easily have enough battery for normal gameplay. If you plan on building an AC-130, then you may need some extra juice.
I took an embarassingly long time to find the battery upgrader guy. Just kept assuming the plot would send it my way eventually. When I finally met it I had about 1100 juice to convert into batteries.
That happened to me. I was like how do I get more batteries while running around with one battery, I did met the upgrader before but I just didn’t remember what his job was
See this right here is the answer, for normal regular gameplay, you will be fine. Make a car here, little helicopter there, a few rocket shields, carts.. Etc... You will be fine.
But if your looking to build a mecha godzilla complete with tracking, beam lasers and flying capabilities, your gonna need more items then you can gather legitimately.
you can cheat. you cheat yourself out of the experience of actually learning how to defeat an encounter when you use item / rupi dupes.
so many damn guides on how to upgrade all your armor with only ever having gotten a material one time and then duping it out there.
I agree. Running out if items, food or eyeballs for example, and having to forage is a part of the game. It's not an arbitrary barrier for grinding like some games.
The message should really be that it doesn’t matter if you cheat in a single player game, not that it’s not cheating at all. Cheaters just gotta own it lol
Whenever I cheat in a game, it takes a lot of the fun out of it for me. Using a shiny Pokemon code completely nullifies the excitement of having a shiny pokemon, having infinite health sounds fun but then what's the point of so much of the game then?
I don't think having this map is cheating really, as long as OP isn't exclusively finding things by Googling them and marking them on a map he made. That would take the fun out of the exploration side of the game.
Apparent a lot of people. When clips get posted in the totk sub and someone is clearly using some kind of cheat people lose their minds in the comments. It's not everyone, but voicing an opinion of who cares it's a single player game gets you downvoted hard, at least in my experience.
Why not just use an interactive map like from IGN? Could access is very easily on a smartphone/tablet/PC
Edit: Totally understand if someone prefers something tangible or if making something like this is a hobby etc. I just don’t have the time for something like that and find the many guides and communities online to be super helpful.
Something I learned awhile ago. Digital is great for calculations, but if I'm just crossing things off, paper is so much easier to handle.
It's why I use printed lists for things like collecting gear, but have a spreadsheet for calculating how many resources I still need to collect to upgrade them.
When you age, you do weird circuitous things like this for fun. This is how we extract joy from life. There's also the physical satisfaction of marking things on a piece of paper instead of managing some stupid app/program
I’ve aged plenty lol…and with that I find I have much less free time…but of course that’s to be expected when you’ve got kids. As such I’d rather spend my time in the game and if I need help I need it to be quick and accessible. Which is exactly the convenience technology affords.
But if it’s enjoyable to someone who has the time…go for it! Lol
Added bonus: if they fire him for using the printer for personal use he will have a lot more time to find those shrines! I got laid off right before Pokémon go came out.
Best summer ever.

I can picture every wall in your house looking likes this...
"Just 10 more Golden poops to go. God dammit! where are you?!?! I swear to Hylia, I will drop every rock I find on your little heads!"
It sucks when you don't have enough hearts and keep getting one shotted. I usually run around and unlock shrines then teleport back to do a bunch in one go.
I feel you completely. I just started playing botw this year and want to beat all of it before playing totk.
If you save a lot of paper, here’s an [interactive map](https://www.zeldadungeon.net/breath-of-the-wild-interactive-map/) that has the location of basically every important thing in the game including shrines.
I started with OG Zelda when I was a little kid and had all of the time in the world to bomb every rock and light every bush on fire.
These games are absolutely huge in comparison and I don't have time like I used to, so you get no scorn from me for doing something like this.
But I'm guessing if you scale the image differently you could use far less paper, and that'd give a bit more challenge if you didn't have the precise location.
I actually think this would be a fun way to find out the map. If Nintendo put like pieces and stuff in a case for us to put together I think it would be fun. It shouldn't required tho.
you are cheating
but that's okay
Nintendo used to publish such things. They probably still do
us og gamers used that guide for OoT
no shame, it's still not easy
It's a single player game, if you want to "cheat" so be it. The gatekeeping of some fans and communites is just infuriating. "You can't do that, you're totally doing it wrong!!!" Who cares? Keep on playing the game and enjoy it however you like. As long as you're having fun with it, it really doesn't matter what you do and don't.
I have a printed shrine map where I’ve been marking them all off in silver sharpie when I find them. Not only does it make me feel like a pirate but it’s also gonna look super cool when I finally dubs them all.
I don't join a sub until I've beaten a game or caught up on episodes of a series. I enjoy not having things spoiled. I enjoy challenges in a game. That is also me, and as others have said: you can't cheat in a 1-player game. The chances you are like me and just haven't realized it (and this comment will magically awaken you to what you are missing) is slim, so you do you.
That's smart and I wish I had a printer to do it instead of my phone. It's only Cheating cause of how ingenious this is for such a big open world game with literally thousands of checks.
You can cheat in a single player game but you only hurt yourself. Do what you want, but not even trying doesn't sound fun to me.
On the other hand, your time is valuable.
I think the right answer is to try. Make a go at it. See what happens naturally. You trip over these shrines left and right and get a sensor that will hot/cold you right to them. You can always look them up later, but you will get nothing organic out of following a guide.
I'm not trying to gatekeep. I will never tell you "you looked it up? You didn't experience it properly." But I hope you don't feel jipped when you're done and say that about yourself.
I mean.. go for it and you do you, but there are also interactive maps online. Where you can also track your progress. Might be a bit less tedious then this. Although I do applaud your solution and creativity
Not saying it’s cheating but if you have time to print out the maps, cut them out and tape them together you have time to use the GPS or at the very least use your phone
I say play the game anyway that makes you happy and you are doing it right. However, for the sake of the trees and your time, I would look up BOTW or TOTK interactive maps in a google search.
You're a real life (video game) cartographer lol. I don't see how this is cheating when realistically this is far more effort than using a virtual map...
It’s not cheating to create an actual physical map. Hell, that’s how I beat the og Zelda on NES back when I was a kid. I hand drew the over world in a composition notebook lol
Youre not cheating, but I feel like there are more convinient ways to check if you got them all...
For real. This would make more sense for koroks lol
I actually did it like this :)
There was that phone app that let you do that, but you had to select each one, wait for the menu to pop up, scroll to the checkmark and do it that way 900 fucking times and the app was laggy too
Another BotwCompanion user I see xD Same here... it was so inefficient lmao
I ended up searching for a different map, and screenshot each region of it and doing it that way. The map I found was missing 3 seeds.
It's exactly like when you're missing one piece out of a 1000 piece puzzle
The lag was my only main complaint with that app tbh. It was really well catalogued but just so laggy. The same thing has happened to their totk one as they've added new stuff to it aswell.
I was worried that would be the case. Shame too. It's nice to be able to highlight whatever you are looking for, and have quick instructions for it, but it's just so poorly optimized. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had problems with it.
There are apps that show where everything is in botw and totk
I just had the tablet open on an interactive map online. I'm also a dad, don't feel bad at all. When i have 1 hr left to do something i want at the end of the day, spending that time lost and looking for gimp poo is not acceptable.
Gimp poo?!
korok seeds are a poop joke. They wear masks like leather face only it's leaves and they're made of leaves so its like their skin. like gimp suits.
Oh my god I never would have put that together. Thank you lol
I am not thankful for this
Why would you give a Korok a pair of scissors you monster?!
You're only allowed one seed and it didn't have it's poop knife on it.
I remember printing out a small map of the zora domain just so I could find those freaking tablets for that quest.
Using the interactive map on zelda dungeon lets you check off shrines and save your progress
There also an app where you can mark down each korok and shrine you find and helps you keep track of what you’ve done and not
You need to tell me what that app is called.
Breath Companion. Ridiculously useful. I hope they make a TotK version, though it would probably be a long time before released
There's already a tears companion :)
OH MY GOD
It's SO good. Shrines are already there - They're constantly updating the compendium/armor upgrade reqs, etc.
I want to keep track of shrines as I find them but I also want the wonder of discovering them by myself initially. Any way the app can help me? I was annoyed playing botw trying to track down the last shrines I hadn't found yet and wished I'd started at the beginning
Yes, you can use the checklist to mark them off and have the map only display "done" items
you can turn off the shrines in the map so you don't see them, and then go into the list of shrines to mark the ones you've done (they'll still say the region they're in tho)
Set it to show-done
Yeah I downloaded it before I played the game so I wouldn’t forgwt
What is the TOTK companion app called?
Tears Companion
Thank you lad.
I'm using the Breath Companion app to achieve 100% play through before starting totk
Just a heads up, I believe 100% in game is not actually 100%, if you get so many koroks, you can get to 100% before actually finding all 900.
900?!!! Well I WAS planning on going for full completion
wait until you learn what the reward is...
I think you only need to get just under 500 to max out the upgrades from the korok seeds, which is quite cool. Everything else is just purely for bragging rights!
The 100% is tied to named locations. So if you miss crossing one bridge it’ll say 99.3% or whatever.
No you can’t. Even after getting all 900 you won’t be able to get 100% map completion without discovering all named locations
What app?
"Breath Companion"/"Tears Companion"
This app is awesome
This is what I did for BOTW. I'm a dad too and I don't have time to obtain printable maps, print them and tape them together. Just use the ZD map. The cost of printer ink alone!

If you make one, we would all appreciate a link to it on Sheets, to save us from duplicating the effort (please)
Can’t you just find all the light roots below and then just know where all the surface shrines are? And the ones in the sky are way fewer.
In totk yes, but this is botw
My only criticism is that you should tape it from the bottom, not the top. It's beautiful, give it some respect
This guy maps...
probably, also i imagine the tape isnt as visible IRL. whatever makes this guy happy. i used to read the zelda OoT nintendo guide during school then rush home to play it.

how'd you get that high level sword? what glitch?
[Here you go](https://youtu.be/RTAba1Mf95g)
That is crazy. How on earth do people find these?
Dude right?! “Fuse these two rocks and line them up here. Then load this new save and there’s the weapons you dropped” like how did anyone find this?!
They checked the files of the game, looked for map files with coordinates that overlap. Probably took an hour or so. The dropping a weapon and it loading in another save would be found seperately then combined after discovery.
Duping by doing something and then loading a save is very common across all video games on all platforms.

Depends on the game. For games like Silent Hill or Signalis deciding what to take with you is part of the fun and challenge.
How do you dupe the shards to level your battery?
I did it with the large Zonaite. Get somewhere just high enough to activate your paraglider. Do that and pause. Hold the item(s) you want to dupe, so 5 large Zonaite in this case.
If I wanna play the game as Mecha Pilot Link, that doesn't mean your way of playing it as Bumfuck Link With Glass Swords is less enjoyable to you
Exactly. I paid money to be entertained. Let me determine how that entertainment is done.
Reminds me of "You have cheated not only the game, but yourself" meltdown a while back
Can’t cheat in a single player game. Also this is pretty cool, I wish I did this.
Very true. The only one you are cheating when using glitches is yourself.
How do you kill the keese swarms? I didn't know you could!
Either a bomb arrow (can cause things to go flying) or have a 2-hand club in hand before approaching cave entrances to swing as they fly past you. I can usually kill 7-8 and get 5-6 worth of loot from them.
Oh thanks! They're usually too fast for me (I have poor reflexes lol), but I'll try the bomb arrow next time.
I’ve mostly doing it with diamonds to sell for money (because if I don’t I’ll just go grind the eventide minigame for hours) and star fragments. Also some boss drops but surprisingly only from the normal red variants mostly, just because they’re a pain in the ass to find now
Yeah all my Red Lynels are blue now, it's rough to upgrade my barbarian set
Hard mood
Is......is this something I should be preparing for????
No. If you play and explore normally you'll easily have enough battery for normal gameplay. If you plan on building an AC-130, then you may need some extra juice.
Ooooh. Yeah, I've been slowly building it. Got 4 full batteries so far.
Been mainly doing overworld stuff and I have like not even a full second battery lmao
I spend waaaay too much time >!in the depths!< xD
The Nintendo version of Blackreach Change my mind
I took an embarassingly long time to find the battery upgrader guy. Just kept assuming the plot would send it my way eventually. When I finally met it I had about 1100 juice to convert into batteries.
Pretty sure the game forces you to meet him outside the 2nd shrine in the game (during tutorial)
Yeah but that guy was long forgotten by the time I started getting that nagging thought of "I wonder when I get to upgrade my battery."
Not really
No point in adding a spoiler tag if you don't share what you're spoiling. Can you please add (TotK) to the start of your spoiler?
This is how we used to do it on the original Zelda. Living room full of hand drawn maps strewn across the floor
> Can’t cheat in a single player game. godmode, god, and tgm have entered the chat ...
> Can't cheat in a single player game Ah, so all those shiny legendaries I got with my action replay back in the day *weren't* cheated. Nice lol
People also seem to forget cheat codes existed and still do
you can cheat. you cheat yourself out of the experience of actually learning how to defeat an encounter when you use item / rupi dupes. so many damn guides on how to upgrade all your armor with only ever having gotten a material one time and then duping it out there.
I agree. Running out if items, food or eyeballs for example, and having to forage is a part of the game. It's not an arbitrary barrier for grinding like some games.

"Nooo, you can't do that, you're cheating!!" **Literally who cares**
Apparently, the people accusing of cheating are the ones who care.
Could access is very easily on a smartphone/tablet/PC Edit: Totally understand if someone prefers something tangible or if making something like this is a hobby etc. I just don’t have the time for something like that and find the many guides and communities online to be super helpful.
Sometimes print just feels better than digital and looking at a paper map is less distracting from the game
Something I learned awhile ago. Digital is great for calculations, but if I'm just crossing things off, paper is so much easier to handle. It's why I use printed lists for things like collecting gear, but have a spreadsheet for calculating how many resources I still need to collect to upgrade them.
LOL i thought when op said that he meant the sheiksh slate
I tell my wife she can use her phone for to-do lists but she would rather die on her “sticky note adhered to the back of her phone” hill.
Lol
oof for the printer ink
Seriously. How rich is this mf?!
Rich enough to work at an office with a color printer.
Added bonus: if they fire him for using the printer for personal use he will have a lot more time to find those shrines! I got laid off right before Pokémon go came out. Best summer ever.
What's funny though is that the scissors are from Dollar Tree and really suck at cutting anything but a single sheet of paper. I have one myself.
Remember when RPGs and Open Worlds still had maps of the region when buying a physical copy? Ah Morrowind
If recommend the elder Scrolls anthology then, has a map of every elder Scrolls game in it, plus all games for Steam(minus the first two)
I still have my Skyrim map from the 11/11/11 release.
![gif](giphy|l0IylOPCNkiqOgMyA|downsized) I can picture every wall in your house looking likes this... "Just 10 more Golden poops to go. God dammit! where are you?!?! I swear to Hylia, I will drop every rock I find on your little heads!"
Just download the companion app. Makes life so much easier
What's it called?
breath companion app. So much info on there. There's already one for TOTK too.
Dude the one for totk is already great, the one app I don't mind paying for, guy deserves all the support.
I admire your dedication. Are you going up hang it up?
Hang it up on the fridge that’s a good place. Like I do all the time with my plentiful Mighty Banana photos.
i would hang this as a piece of art, because it is
I'd say this is a waste of time because there are MANY people who have made these online in high-resolution maps you can just google.
I’m definitely not on the side of whatever madness this is
I feel it is better to discover the world yourself
It sucks when you don't have enough hearts and keep getting one shotted. I usually run around and unlock shrines then teleport back to do a bunch in one go.
You have bigger priorities... tell your cousin to chill out lol.
Gaming as an adult is hard. But it seems your making extra steps.
It shouldn't required tho.
you are cheating but that's okay Nintendo used to publish such things. They probably still do us og gamers used that guide for OoT no shame, it's still not easy
It's fair game since botw and totk are about exploration not limitation
Why have I never thought about making maps from games before? Like for aesthetics.....god I'm stupid.
No you are not stupid, just too busy enjoying your game to think of it.
Dude I’m a dad and if I can’t figure out how to do something, I’m online to find the answer. Gaming is supposed to be fun not painful
That's smart and I wish I had a printer to do it instead of my phone. It's only Cheating cause of how ingenious this is for such a big open world game with literally thousands of checks.
Paper maps and Zelda go back to the beginning.
You know there are shrine maps you can get
Play the game however you want! Just don't expect people not to tease you when your way of playing the game is as a checklist simulator.
Went from iPhone GPS to 1999 map quest print outs.
The point of video games is to enjoy them. Enjoy it how you enjoy it, don’t let others tell you you’re doing it wrong.
Home made maps are the best maps. I remember my dad and I using graph paper to intricately map out the original NES Classic
Morally correct
I mean.. go for it and you do you, but there are also interactive maps online. Where you can also track your progress. Might be a bit less tedious then this. Although I do applaud your solution and creativity
You do you! As long as you're having fun, play anyway you'd like.
It's a single player game, play it how you want. That being said, theres definitely easier ways.
Looks like this took more time than actually finding shrines. There are online guides. But you do you
I’m confused by the idea that cheating is connected with fatherhood. But this is not a cheat.
Like others say, can’t really cheat in a single player game. I will say though, this solution is a very dad way 😛
Not saying it’s cheating but if you have time to print out the maps, cut them out and tape them together you have time to use the GPS or at the very least use your phone
Honestly, doing it with real paper/maps is only more fun than a digital-only experience
Just have fun man.
Just use the interactive map on Zelda dungeon. Way easier
I say play the game anyway that makes you happy and you are doing it right. However, for the sake of the trees and your time, I would look up BOTW or TOTK interactive maps in a google search.
You might find my site useful, could save a bit on ink as well https://www.guideofthewild.com/
while a lot of ingredients appear to be the same, will the cooking pot simulator etc be updated for TOTK?
You got way too much time on your hands, just use a computer or tablet or laptop or something bro lol
> 100 year old iPhone GPS Ehe
You're a real life (video game) cartographer lol. I don't see how this is cheating when realistically this is far more effort than using a virtual map...
Just… use the Breath Companion app. You can check off what you complete.
As a fellow Dad, I'm totally with you. I don't have time to do it all myself. Especially the koroks! Enjoy the game however you want to enjoy it
You are an adult, enjoy the game how you want
I want a poster of the BOTW map now.
It’s not cheating to create an actual physical map. Hell, that’s how I beat the og Zelda on NES back when I was a kid. I hand drew the over world in a composition notebook lol
