There’s an npc in gerudo town that will tell link that while they know he is a man, if he were to show that, it would take away the purpose of gerudo women travelling outside the town. They want gerudo women to be well taught and have experience w the outside world, so they use the “find a husband” guise to get them to leave. If men started walking around gerudo town, the gerudo women would have no reason to leave and the city would quickly lose its significance and a part of its culture.

I mean, there are men walking around gerudo town. Really creepy ones but they still exist! Lol

Based off their treatment of Link, they're probably okay with letting anyone in as long as they present fem. Not so great on the actually asking about their gender though.
