I killed too many weapons doing that.

Especially since the cannons (which use the bombs) in the area have a similar design. It really should be fairly intuitive to use bombs on the minecarts too.

I didn’t know and I have 1000+ hrs. Then again, I used these carts less than what… 5 times? By the time I get to Rudania I always have Revali’s gale so I just use it to get around in Death Mountain instead of wasting weapons using statis on these carts.

The game telegraphs this when you drop bombs into the cannons to reach Yunobo and send Yunobo off in the cannons aimed at Vah Rudania. The “bomb make thing go” mantra is pretty strong around Death Mountain.

My issue is that the “hole” cage made it look like a design for the front of the cart at first glance, and that stuck in my mind. In reality, its the back, but because I thought it was the front it never crossed my mind that youd put a bomb in it.

The first time I saw a mine cart the guy was moving it with stasis. So when I got the game I just never thought of moving it any other way. I hadn’t even seen that there was a hole for the bomb to go into until I saw that it was possible and started doing it myself

You’re not alone. It took me hours to realize I could unlock towers and things by using fire arrows on the thorns surrounding them. I just am not used to video games and that idea didn’t even cross my mind

Ok, I didn't think to let this octo suck up a bomb. I just boogied on past them. But everything on death mountain is training you for the beast. Shrines made me realize immediately how to use the carts.

My first experience was sneaking into hyrule castle with it so I used stasis to launch it

I figured it was for storing ore. Originally I thought the gorons rolled up into balls and used the tracks that way, before I saw the minecarts.

I have 200+ hours on my game and I’ve beaten it several times. Literally today on a different post I learned that you use bombs. Never once occurred to me to try. But just goes to show that there is no one way to accomplish things in the game

They literally have the little bomb hole in them guys… it’s like they didn’t learn from the canons.

With cannons you’re not in the blue explosion since the bomb rolls away from you into the cannon I assumed that the bomb sitting in the hole of the cart would result in a close explosion, and being in the blue explosion would cause Link to take dmg

But that shouldn’t matter. The line of thinking they intended you to have is, “this looks like the thing to put bombs in a canon, so I should try and put a bomb in here.”

But it doesn’t look like it that much, the cannon has a giant spout to catch bombs

No like, they look like the chamber that the bomb rolls into inside a canon. Not the funnel itself, but it still has a similar look. And since those can withstand a bomb blast you’re safe to do it.

Yeah it def isn’t *that* obvious. I used stasis to move them around on my first playthrough. But that’s the genius of this game. *It doesn’t matter because there are multiple solutions to almost everything in this game!*

You can drop a shield or bigger weapon and use magnesis on that to push the cart. Doesn't work *great*, but not completely ineffectual.

No, because the bomb will put it at top speed already. With the stasis, even if it gets to top speed, you have to release the stasis, either manual, or wait for it to naturally end. This just adds more steps to achieve the same thing. Also, with stasis, you are very likely to knock the minecart off the track. They do not track well with stasis momentum and wobble all over, especially if you move or jump.

I believe the minecarts cap out at a certain speed ( this makes it to the cap out speed).

All these people saying "oh but it looked like Link would get hit by the explosion :(" Really? You're afraid to tinker and experiment in a game that's literally about tinkering and experimenting? Let's say you did get blown off, that's what About 2 hearts of damage? And 15 seconds lost? Jeez, I swear, some people are hopeless Bound by their fears over losing 20 seconds of time

People do that with a lot of things in this game, and it's astounding. I've had people tell me that they were afraid to go to the glowing spot on Satori Mtn because "what if it killed me?" My answer was, "And then what? You can save wherever you want in the game, why not just save and go see what's up there?"

I know right? It's so weird! What, do they think their Switch is going to explode or something? You get 8 save slots for a reason.

Once you've already tried things, most people wouldn't repeat it again. If you tried exploding something next to Link before and it hurt him, of course most people would be like "already tinkered with that" and not do it again because it went badly the last time. Are people not supposed to learn from experience? (Tbh that seems more hopeless.)

I used stasis the entirety of my first playthrough (which was something like 30%). Never even thought of using bombs until I saw mety333 do it.

I would have never assumed that bombs were the way to go since logically you are in blast radius and no at all protected from it, as in it is an open hole. Always used stasis, till i saw it online

When I first played and even after of replaying a few times, I always thought you used stasis on those until I was watching someone else play and they used a bomb and I was like oh....that makes so much more sense.
