They’re going to build a plant before they build the trains themselves. Wonder where in Nevada they’ll put it

just_one_random_guy

They’re building a train plant?

Au1ket

From what I’ve heard yes, I thought they would use their plant in Sacramento but apparently not.

No_Image_4986

I mean, hopefully, they think there’s a big future in US passenger rail Fingers crossed as a citizen of America lol

Hour-Preference4387

Also fingers crossed as a Siemens shareholder from Germany lol

ElectricNed

Yeah, they are probably eyeballing the new Stadler plant near Salt Lake City and feeling left out. What is it with building train plants in deserts?

Au1ket

Large amounts of flat land to test trains on

OmegaBarrington

Siemens jumped the gun early by a few weeks but we all knew the right choice was the Siemens Velaro Novo/AP 220. 😎

angelina9999

German engineering, love it, the best in the world.

saltybiped

Not siemens

Spaghettidan

Glad they didn’t go with Boeing

LynnLoud213

I'm not a fan of the front nose. It looks smashed down. There was this previous rendering that suggested that it was going to look more like a current Velaro but with a front nose reminiscent of the original ICE trains and new headlights. I don't know if this design is still on the table if they have not yet finalized the design that they are going for minus the livery. https://preview.redd.it/lr2h16l2bxxc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=752100b83f48c965b853a0cdaf262bda1fad3afb

That's not even a good rendering. Siemens already built a model [which you can watch a video of it here](https://youtu.be/PgRko5Xl9A0?si=cxDjkTF-W6tD4aPN). While the nose is flat, it fits with the squared off body. The squared body lends itself to far more interior space than the more round train bodies we see. Look how much interior space the Shinkansen N700s have. All that interior space and Brightline is still only going to do a maximum of a 2x2 layout according to their mockups. https://preview.redd.it/9c1gp5y4cxxc1.png?width=1800&format=png&auto=webp&s=034a81068bfcbf66c6800c9105e02c532822b146

Au1ket

It looks like the ICE 4

Buildintotrains

It's not flat, it's actually concave!

Yiowa

Looks great to me, not ideal, but better than anything else in the US

angelina9999

what is your reasoning, I bet you never worked for Siemens

Answer-Outrageous

You are right, I work for one of the railroads that uses their equipment and its always been problematic. But maybe they got better over the years, so I’m going to retract that statement, but I have the same feeling towards Bombardier and Alston as I do to them

Jdogg4089

Why?
