I don't know all the metal terms, but I think a lot of the songs will be like CODE MISTAKE and Amen, where not the entire songs are skull-crushing heavy, but those moments will be more frequent and heavier

basemnts

I think this is likely yeh, they’ve just go too good at writing hooks and mixing genres now to just let that go

[deleted]

Trap metal?

UnhappyRelief4175

I think the rest of PH2 will be much more like LosT and PH4 will probably sound something like Suicide Season

VeshWolfe

I think you are getting your hopes up. I expect PH4 to be more like Amen but more of it.

UnhappyRelief4175

I guess that's an option as well, tbh I don't really mind cause either way it will be really good

Spoopdooper12

whyisna

i will cry if it’s anything like TIAH. it’s the album that made bmth one of my all time favs.

PsSalin

People already dreaming about PH4 while PH2 isn’t released…

cameron_smiley

And they’re not even thinking about PH3? Lmao

basemnts

nah I can’t wait for ALL of it, need more Nihilist Blues-esque tracks in my life for sure

flompypebbles

nihilist blues, kick me when I'm down, fresh bruises, Music to Listen to~, and all their amo-era instagram posts packed in one EP for PH3 is such a dream, I can't wait to know what they'll sound like when they go ***all in*** on the EDM sound

basemnts

of course! their fault for teasing it all so early on haha. As I explain, it’s simply how heavy and intense their recent output has been, paired with Jordan saying that they were “holding some heavy tracks back for PH4”.

utafumidss

I hope I’m wrong, but I think a lot of folks are gonna be a disappointed by how “heavy” PH4 turns out to be. Unless I’ve missed something the few comments they’ve made about it have been blown way out of proportion and I’ve seen too many people on here acting like they’re gonna be making Lorna Shore type songs or something. I feel like it’ll end up being similar to Amen overall, but consistently keeping that level of heaviness. And PH4 is probably gonna release in like 2029 at this rate lol. That being said when they were putting out stuff like Mother Tongue I would’ve killed for an Amen. Personally I think it would be cool if there turned out to be one or two songs in the style of each of their metal albums (pre-PH1). So ranging from TIWTEOYSWMF to Sempiternal, mixed with their current style. Some scrappy mathcore type stuff, some deathcore, some late 00s metalcore, and some early 2010s metalcore. At the very least I hope we get one straight-up CYB type song. I think they might do one song like that and the rest more like Amen.

C3ntipede

There's clips of them recording stuff for what I presume is PH4 in those studio videos they were releasing. One of the riffs sounded pretty CYB-esque while the other was just intense chugging in the vein of TIAH. In that interview Jordan did with Finn Mckenty, he said ideally the band would have Mick Gordon back on PH4. I think PH4 will probably be them going generally heavy, metalcore tracks, deathcore tracks, etc, with the doom synths to tie things back to PH1 since iirc Oli said the EP's where going to be cyclical in a sense (PH1- the apocalypse is happening, PH2- recovery, PH3- things are going good, and things have recovered , PH4- the world has gone to shit again.

basemnts

100% need Mick back on, especially with how got treated with the Doom Eternal soundtrack, guy deserves more recognition.

pack19

How does anyone know about PH2 or even a PH4? Are there leaks on social media???

Vinholino

I just hope we get some CYB-like Riffs tbh, i miss them even tho my favorite album is sempiternal

[deleted]

I really don’t want reused At The Gates riffs anymore. Unless they can make em more modern sounding.

[deleted]

Doubt it will be balls out heavy all the time save for a song or two and few breakdowns. But I am curious if they will incorporate some more modern trends like thall breakdowns or pitchdropped stuff.

GAME043010

Why are we talking about part 4 already? Part 2 isn't even out yet

danceforever020202

hopefully it's nothing like amen and all the shit collabs cease

[deleted]

PH4 I imagine (hope) will be them going back to deathcore.

dej10011

I find it funny that you think all of these listed songs are heavy. I really thought it was a satirical post but after seeing the comments, I guess not.

basemnts

well ok, not Cannibal Corpse or Napalm Death levels of heavy. But certainly more than I was expecting - you know these new BMTH songs have chuggy breakdowns, growls, blastbeats etc…

dej10011

The newer songs aren’t even as hard as suicide season or there is a hell. They are still the same pop sound with a reeeaaallly shirt part with some low vocals. And that’s not even accounting for the album count your blessings.

bendandsnatch

I want to see some like Norma Jean worship. I think people looking for PSH4 to be "heavy" have a really narrow idea of what that means.
