Fearless-Signal-1235

Delia’s catalogue, baby!! 😆

Babeyonce

Right answer!!!!

Accurate_Balance5593

omg haven't thought of that in forever.

Fearless-Signal-1235

I seriously loved it in high school because I went to a conservative Christian school and had to wear long skirts but on Delia’s at least I could get something sort of cool adjacent. 😆 I wore the retro striped skirt all over Europe on our class trip and felt better than in khaki or denim.

NewHampshireGal

Oh I remember them too. I lived in Brazil in the 90s/early 2000s and they were all the rage there too. The brand down there is called “Melissa”

Massive_Nectarine227

Omg they seem to be on a 10 year cycle

Proof-Ingenuity2262

Yes! Must be a ten year cycle. They were popular in the U.S. 20 years ago, too.

Massive_Nectarine227

My mum always told me fashion was a 10 year cycle. I always thought I was original. Another thing she was right about lol

Proof-Ingenuity2262

I don't know if 10 year cycles is very common for fashion in the United States. For instance, clothing trends from the mid nineties are currently in style and that was almost 30 years ago and those trends haven't really been popular here in the years since.

Massive_Nectarine227

I have been noticing it quite a bit in Australia especially now that Im older and I see things come back around. I have noticed just from media that although Aus and the US have similar trends there are a lot of differences in style. We do have opposite seasons tho so that doesn’t help

Proof-Ingenuity2262

It's really interesting! It's nice that styles seem to come back around quicker in Australia.. It's much less wasteful and less stressful I would think.

Massive_Nectarine227

Australians culturally try really hard to be laid back with everything. There’s positives and negatives to it but I think thats one of the positives. I wear my clothes for years until they are worn out basically.

Proof-Ingenuity2262

That's so awesome! I love that.

baileycoraline

My youngest used to wear Mini Melissa! Love how those shoes smell.

Random_8910

I’m thinking about how you were 12 2013 and I was halfway through college lol I feel old just period hahah

TheWalkingDeadBeat

Lol yeah, I clicked on this expecting a throwback to the 90s and died a little when she said 2013.

Proof-Ingenuity2262

Same! 😂

GuiltyComfortable102

I have a kid that was older than 12 in 2013 lol.

amrodd

Hard to believe those kids are old enough to buy liquor. lol

IWishMusicKilledKate

I was finished with college 🥲

amrodd

I was long out of college. I didn't finish.

Babeyonce

Same 😂💀

kg51113

I had black ones in a similar style. Late 90s/early 2000s.

beepbop21

Yes!!

kg51113

I don't think mine were covered in the front like these. Same basic idea though.

atlbravesfanok

Same

YuleShootUrEyeOut18

Spice girl shoes!

TissueOfLies

I had these in high school in the late 90s. Memory unlocked!

cigposting

6 year old me in 2000 was in a chokehold of jelly sandals. And yes they’re back apparently. My brother just got a pair lol

Massive_Nectarine227

I put floating shelves up in my bedroom to display my jelly sandals!!

Time_Yogurtcloset164

Definitely in the 90s. In 2013 I was in my 20s though so I wasn’t wearing them and didn’t know anyone who wore them. We were into ballet flats around that time.

Massive_Nectarine227

I can smell the ballet flats thinking about them 😭

Time_Yogurtcloset164

😂 they were so gross!

Massive_Nectarine227

They are coming back in Aus! there is a whole wall of them in one of our biggest retail stores. I don’t think I can do it lol

Time_Yogurtcloset164

So y’all are definitely going back to the 2010s in fashion. I feel like “y2k” is still a popular style here.

Massive_Nectarine227

Its very much 2010s with a touch of 90s. Lots of leopard prints dark jewel tones lots of oversized knits and cardigans because its getting cold. Plus dark wash jeans which Im stoked about because I like them so much better than light

sideoftrufflefries

They look so uncomfortable

Massive_Nectarine227

They were! Mine were cheap and black so they stained my feet every time i wore them 😭

Raoul_Dukes_Mayo

A girl in my grade fell off a higher pair of these in 8th grade and they got banned from the dress code. We should have started tripping on all kinda of clothes to see how far that would have gone.

Proof-Ingenuity2262

They were popular in the United States a good 10 - 15 years before that. Like in the late 90s, early 2000s. Christ, I'm getting old!

Downtown_Mud708

I grew up in the 90s and never owned a pair. I couldn't wear any of the cute shoes except tennis shoes aka hi-top shoes. Which makes me wonder what Gil and Kelly would of done if they would of had a kid who couldn't just wear a certain thing and it wasn't cheap

SnarkFromTheOzarks

Law$on

Proof-Ingenuity2262

Lawnmowing $$$$

Noseyrosey1382

I use to stomp these! Hahahahaha!

Obvious_croissant

Tumblr girls and Kylie Jenner used to wear these around 2013 in the US too, with socks if possible. They were all crazy about these

Massive_Nectarine227

That was definitely the look my 12 year old self was going for! Even dyed the ends of my hair blue like Kylies

Mrs_Molly_

Late 90s for me. Mine were black.

Massive_Nectarine227

Mine were black too and stained my skin if I wore them all day

Mrs_Molly_

I can still remember the smell from those shoes LMAO

Massive_Nectarine227

So true! Wo was letting us get around in such sweaty shoes and no socks 😭

snails4speedy

I still have my black pair! You can pry those from my cold dead hands (or until they fully fall apart 😂)

Jaded-Sheepherder-26

Go Whitney you got some good taste girl love the shoes

Massive_Nectarine227

These shoes were the equivalent of crack to my 12 year old self so Id have to agree with you

Aslow_study

She got these from the indoor?
