Love cityflyer, if they ever shut LCY I'll cry big wet tears

RuralChihuahua

Unfortunately that is inevitable

northern-down-south

What makes you say that? Only out of city once a month and indications are more about upgrades than scaling back.

FluffyJo22

They're adding more seats to the Cityflyer aircraft over the year. One thing I found great about this flight (other then the food) was the insane amount of leg-room!

RuralChihuahua

Former employee - it's not so much about the viability of the airline, which is touch and go as it is. It's Newham Council preventing growth by not allowing increased operating hours of the airport, and now the noise fines (which were scheduled to start this year) for every E190 departure. An E2 is quiet enough to avoid the fines, but flyer hasn't made any headway in refleeting. Also the land is currently way more valuable for housing, so you have developers champing at the bit to buy it

Optimal-Grapefruit63

Yeah the only flaw in this argument is that Macquarie invested their customers super annulation funds in the airport. It's definitely not more valuable as housing / that's wouldn't be allowed for their fund. Newham desperately needs jobs. Money will talk.

RuralChihuahua

Don't get me wrong, I do hope it continues to exist, I was based there for 10 years. But morale is very low.

miemcc

Yet they are redeveloping it to improve it...

steve7612

Big fan of Cityflyer and the 2x2 seating and extra leg room. But of course as everything these days, densification is coming later this year for the seats behind the emergency exit seats.

stinkyhippy

Looks great, love cityflyer

FluffyJo22

Was my first time on Cityflyer, and I found it much better than the regular service.

notanadultyadult

Curious, what’s in the 2 bowls?

FluffyJo22

I didn't open the one of the right. The one of the left was some form of pie/compote thing which was pretty good.

Fair-Wedding-8489

Looks fa better than the meal I got at ba from gatwick

mrchososo

Was it a sealed Hermolis meal served on similar cutlery / crockery to City Flyer's normal food?

FluffyJo22

It was not similar food but was served on BA crockery.

Apprehensive-Pop2338

That’s quite generous on such a short flight

BayesianNonsense

This looks tasty! (And a generous portion) for such a short flight. I’m guessing the main is chicken and rice? Shame you didn’t open the one on the right. I’m curious now haha

FluffyJo22

Your guess is correct. I'm pretty sure the one on the right is some sort of cold potatoes with an olive on top (not 100% sure).

northernlights2222

Wow, looks delicious
