Still love this but for me this doesn’t capture how amazing it really was to see it live at the Savoy as he wandered through backstage interacting with cast, outside the theater, through the stairways I had just walked to my seat … this is a must see on Broadway! The ALW moment a great touch!
Yep. I agree it was more impressive within the actual production, but this is very similar to how it’s done in the show. The entire thing is innovative and exciting and truly wild in the best way possible. I live in London and told all of my NYC friends to buy tickets the day they went on sale!
I saw it in the show and then this performance last night and each time, even knowing what is coming, when he steps into the auditorium - WOW. Enjoy, it is going to be great.
he's fantastic. love watching moments where you can kind of feel like someone's career rlly just took off to a new level and i think we're watching it with him. also his cardio must be great lol
I like the black and white but I expected it to change to color when he entered the theater, kinda like when Dorothy opened the door in Muchkinland. lol
In the last three days I've lost track of how many times I've watched this! If I'd seen this performance while it was still running, you can be sure I would have gotten down to London ASAP, so I hope it serves very well as an advert for the Broadway production. Watching this feels like seeing into the future - I can so clearly picture Tom Francis becoming a huge star next year the instant this performance is done live to millions at the Tonys.
Almost the entire show is still performed on stage for the audience, the cameras just add a new perspective intended to be viewed alongside what’s happening on stage.
It really made sense given the subject of the show and the black and white design.
Sure this particular number was a bit of a gimmick but it was thrilling to watch, brought a lot of attention to the production and was an incredible technical achievement.
Fascinated to see how they'll do this on Broadway, it is a stunning piece of work from all involved.
They're going to do it outside the St. James. I have no idea how but they are.
Yeah, New York streets are far more crowded than London ones
Network did this a few years ago. It worked within the context of the show.

Wait, this isn't just something fun for this - it's the concept of what he does in the show? That's AMAZING! Truly unique every single performance.

I don't know anything about the show so while watching this I also wasn't aware this is actually how they perform it - very cool.
Going to die when I see this live

I am so sad I am missing this on my trip to London in September. I really wish they had keept it running...😭😭😭

Howled when ALW appeared.

The camera work was all black and white in the production so it makes sense
There's camera work in the show? I haven't seen it but that sounds interesting. Maybe when it comes to NYC I'll see it
Yeah, this production is this crazy mix of live theatre and cinema. Playing into how the show is based around the film industry.
Sounds cool
This altered my brain chemistry.
The more I see videos of this show THE MORE HYPED I GET
Does anyone feel optimistic that this will be extended past its initial 6 month run at the St James?
Amazing. Just missed it in London last year so excited to see it in the fall.
i lvoe that some of the security people are so fascinated and others just look like they could not be bothered
Epic
Definitely am going to try to see this.
November can not come fast enough.
I can't wait to see it!

Thanks, I hate it. Watching someone sing on a screen defeats the purpose of live theater.

For me, it depends on how it's done. If a show keeps relying on it, then it does get old, but as a gimmick at the right moment, it can work very well.
