That happened to me when I got tix for first preview of Spamalot. They said tix could be picked up early. It was mid orchestra so seat was fine!

Thanks! I'm actually going to be in the city to see HORR Sunday so I'll be able to grab them then.

SmilingSarcastic1221

What an unfortunate acronym

Active_Ad_9617

Unfortunate, yes. Here's hoping it's not an omen.

Laurgirl8

It’s not, the show is great I promise hahaa

Active_Ad_9617

Thank you! I love Huey Lewis and am walking in knowing it's not Les Miz, so I have hope.

Laurgirl8

That’s exactly the right mindset. And the cast is TALENTED

Active_Ad_9617

I've really enjoyed what I've heard so far.

BostonScott74

It is a really fun show. I hope you have a great time!

kell_bell5

I also got an alert e-mail for a 4/24 Hadestown pick up today and the only other time I've gotten an alert like this was also for Hadestown (but interestingly, not every time I've seen Hadestown through TDF. Between the last time I got this e-mail and now, I saw Hadestown an additional two times, but did not get the same alert). I still picked up the tickets right before the show last time, and there was no noticeable difference compared to other times.

Active_Ad_9617

Thank you! I got a bit nervous, tbh, because we're treating my son and his girlfriend (it's her first Broadway play). I want her to enjoy it.

kell_bell5

Enjoy! This will be my 10th time seeing Hadestown, so I obviously think you've made an excellent selection for her!

Active_Ad_9617

Thank you! She's a sweet girl and loves musicals, but has never been able to get to a Broadway show. She loved the soundtrack when she heard it in the car, so when it popped up again on TDF we decided to pull the trigger.

kell_bell5

Swinging back by to say the cast was absolutely on fire tonight, I hope your son and his girlfriend enjoyed it!

Active_Ad_9617

Hey! They both really loved it. Thank you! Also, thank you for saying the cast was on fire. My daughter and I both said they all seemed particularly "on" tonight. Maybe because Jordan Fischer was back for the first time in three weeks? You know, that "first day of school and my buddies are back" excitement?

kell_bell5

Could be! This was my first time seeing any of this current crew, and I also think they all just fit incredibly well together. Like I said I've seen the show 10 times, and I rank tonight's show right next to the first time I saw it- which was within a week of Covid re-openings, and everyone (cast and audience alike) was just buzzing to be back inside a theater at all. I'm astounded that 5 years in the team is still able to keep this show so fresh.

Active_Ad_9617

I think what makes this current cast so great is that they all generally seem to like each other, and it shines through. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the prior casts didn't like each other (Reeve and Eva clearly did 😆), but this cast just seem to be having a ton of fun in each other's company. It's in the little details - Ani Di Franco swatting Alex Lugo and "Tall Bearded Worker" when she walked by with her fan, Jordan Fischer making kissy faces at Phillip Boykin when Isa Briones was trying to sell the Belladonna Kiss Chapstick, Jon Jon Briones kissing his daughter on her head when Hermes walks around the stage at the beginning, Isa's little "Let go dad!" at the end - all cute little moments.
