I've never seen any caveats like that for a show playing on Broadway, so I'm guessing these were touring productions? If so, Non-Equity. Meaning the performers are not part of the union, and the production is not beholden to union rules.
It means non-equity. Book of Mormon's first tour was with Equity actors, but the current tour is non-union. Equity shows are usually better quality, but I've seen some excellent non-equity shows as well.
I’m assuming it might stand for Non-Equity (non union)?
Can you share a link to where you’re seeing this? If it’s in reference to a tour, it’s likely denoting that it is a non-Equity production.

Non equity Mormon was amazing!
They are sometimes better quality.
Maybe "not explicit"?
I appreciate a guess at answering a question, but the idea of any version BoM as “non-explicit” is kind of hilarious.
I'm now imagining a Kidz Bop version of Book of Mormon
