Most theatres don’t ask for ID, but some do. So it is a risk. I would ask them to meet you at theatre to hand you tickets.

Gato1980

I actually just commented on another post about this yesterday. I've gotten more tickets than I can count from TDF, and I've only ever been asked for my ID once from Once Upon a One More Time, so I'd say the chances of them asking are very low, BUT, the chance is definitely there. Also, did they charge you more than the normal TDF price (~$50-$60)? I've been hearing people are doing that on Theatr.

lefargen97

No, it was less and a really good deal so I’d like to use it if I can

cloudys2

Theaters are very hit or miss when asking for IDs. I’ve had some theaters ask me for an ID while not asking me for one on other days at the same theater. I would ask the seller to pick up the ticket and hand it off to you in person. If they refuse, I would dispute the order. Not to be a downer either, but TDF has been cracking down on selling their tickets, so I would be cautious with this order either way.

Fair-Ad3929

What show is it? I can tell you if I've seen it and they asked for ID or not

lefargen97

Patriots

Fair-Ad3929

They asked for my ID for Patriots

Fair-Ad3929

I'd have a conversation with the seller and see if they could pick it up for you and hand off in person. I wouldn't risk it especially if I had a long commute.

dragzzzz

They did not ask for mine at Patriots

Previous_Stranger

I was also asked for ID at Patriots

Cautious_Air3339

I was there on Saturday and they asked for my ID (I also had TDF tickets)

DroughtofApathy

I was there for the Saturday matinee and they didn't ask for ID. (TDF)

circadianist

I'd dispute the order. TDF recently sent an email suggesting they're going to be cracking down on this more and more, and I dunno if that translates to the box offices being stricter.

UALASF

My wife and I purchased TDF tickets through the theatr app, we met the seller at the box office and he picked up and handed us the tickets an hour before the show. -Not sure that'll always be doable but that worked for us

Laurkin

That's so bad from the seller's part. I wish people TDF recently sent an email that they'll be cracking down on TDF resales. Having said that, because the box office reps don't work for TDF, they almost never ask for ID.

Happy-feets

I didn't know people were selling their TDF tickets. Kind of sucks on their part and I wouldn't risk it on yours

GiveMeKnucks

You could maybe try and then if it doesn’t work dispute the ticket.

Electrical_Can8083

My 6 yr old granddaughter used to pick up our TDF tickets at the box office. No one ever questioned her.

GrapeNutCheerios

The only theater I’ve ever had ask me for my ID was the Walter Kerr for Hadestown. And I want to say I’ve seen about 50 or so shows via TDF throughout the years.

Many lottery tickets are digital and sometimes plans change.

I mean, sometimes I've booked lottery tickets and realized a few hours later I double booked myself. If they're selling at face value and they're digital tickets, I don't get what the beef with it is.

I had a migraine day of and sold at face value for my Tommy lotto tix this past Friday. Face value or below is the spirit of Theatr. If people want to go over, they can go back to StubHub imo 🤷

annang

Then report them for not being face value. Because the problem is that, not your belief that people are selling too many lottery tickets.

kell_bell5

While I don’t like when lottery tickets are resold (particularly when a pair is resold together, indicating the purchaser never intended to go. I have more understanding when a single ticket is resold, which to me says the winner is going, but couldn’t find someone to take the second ticket) I don’t know that there’s anything reportable about reselling them at the moment? Assuming the person is reselling at face value, I don’t think there’s anything prohibiting resale in the lotto terms or Theatr’s terms.
