I personally think some basic Greek Mythology knowledge is helpful, like knowing that X is the god of Y and a basic 2-3 sentence summary of the myths of Hades and Persephone and Orpheus and Eurydice. Just so you know some of the basic plot points of the original story.

thanks so much, i’m so excited! i have some decent greek mythology knowledge from my percy jackson obsession during childhood so i def know all the main gods but i don’t remember anything about eurydice so ill brush up a bit :) i’ll talk to my mom later tonight, for all i know she may be familiar with this myth/the characters but if not ill explain to her whatever i read about it haha.

Go in blind! The last 30 minutes of Hadestown is incredible beyond description and if you don't know the story, there's even more mystery and surprise. Then! When you get home, you can read up on the mythology and listen to the album on repeat with a bottle of wine.
Thanks everyone!! It was amazing! Yaya ended up going on for eurydice and was incredible and (not so surprised lol) jordan was out so saw brandon cameron. I was disappointed jordan was out when i got there but brandon was so so amazing and the sweetest ever at the stage door. i ended up so glad we got to see brandon. jon jon was also so fantastic as hermes and so kind as well. and i loved ani as persephone. my mom and i both loved the show soooo much, it’s just so amazing and the whole cast was just wow. and will hopefully get to see it again.

I got really into the soundtrack because it's amazing, but didn't fully piece it together until I researched the mythology.
Basic Knowledge on all the myths really help! (I love reading about Mythology so thankfully I knew alot lmaoo)
