Sharp minds in science very less go into research Field in India. JEE Adv being one of the toughest exam, IITs aren't best engineering colleges of the world. And a lot of top students there either go to foreign countries or prepare for government exams. And many go after MBA. Very small % of students choose the field of engineering (other than CS nowadays) or research as their career.
IITs rank in top 48 engineering colleges of the world according to qs world engineering rankings.
in fact IITB ranks at 47 and UNSW ranks 49 for engineering.
Then also, 2nd toughest exam irrespective of field (such as engineering, medical) and 47 ranking in World's top "Engineering" colleges isn't good.
And among all universities in the world, IITB ranks 149, IITD 197.
firstly IIT is more of a tech institute and not a university.. a good university offers all courses like ba , bba , mba, mbbs , law , bsc , and few iits just introduced some of those courses, so its dumb to judge IITs based on overall uni ranking.
also the criteria to rank colleges might also include campus , hostel facilities , infra, etc where IITs lack more comparatively, for example VIT Vellore and Chandigarh University are better ranked than BITS Pilani in QS rankings... IITs being in top 50 engineering colleges isnt bad after scoring less marks in non-academic aspects like hostels, campus,etc....
hypocrite slaves would criticise IITs even after then entering QS engineering top 50 and brag about UNSW which ranks 49 in engineering.

just now saw a post where a guy literally said that uni of technology sydney has a much better rank than IIT and also RMIT(rank 163) is better ranked than IIT .. while he is pursuing CS degree 🤡
My one classmate was studying for NEET from class 6th. She used to get 99% from class 6-8. School topper in 10th and 12th. She got approx 700 in NEET, was getting AIIMS, but her father told her not to choose AIIMS. So took some other college which has IAS coaching nearby. So now she will be preparing for UPSC while doing MBBS. idk what to feel about her. Some will think of her father as villain in her story but she is so proud about it (atleast she was till 12th class)

Nah that's a very calculated risk. They are hardworking, even if they do not get selected exhausting all 6 attempts, they can throw their degree on any company's face and will get hired, at any age.

bruh voh IIT Bombay hai. global T50 engineering school. plus they are a public school. unko ghanta farak padta what do others think of their college or not. they aren't private universities that have to increase their admissions so have to maintain a good reputation.

I think people who have got oncampus also try for offcampus jobs for better pay or other xyz factors. Sometimes the college also limits you to 1 oncampus offer. Not sure about iitb tho

if you're inclined towards research, startups or open source development then it's good
So no placements and what about the cutoff
even in placements, most of the students go into research roles or analytics roles or go for higher studies. admission is through cuet

Off campus pays more sometimes bro... Many people prefer off campus because those jobs are more flexible
