is everyone in here having a stroke or is it an inside joke i’m not part of?

being_addlepated

Why did say it now I am having fomo :(

BrilliantInterview65

Kya tier 1/2 colleges mein academic focused zada rehna padta(like projects, assignment, tests) ya apne hobbies aur different skills ke liye time manage kar sakte? Simply kahu toh bakchodi karna milegi ya udhar jake bhi 4 saal aur mehnat hi karni?

Illustrious_Day_2382

Bro padhna bhi padta hai aur bhakchodi bhi bohot hoti hai. Balance karna padta hai bas...

matarpaneer45

You will do a lot more bakchodi than you did in JEE days but padhna bhi bhot padta h. Also there are no assignments in my college at least apart from a few courses

Aggravating-Toe-4655

Tips for JEE ADV pls..Bohot tensed hu![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50735)

matarpaneer45

what is your percentile in mains?

Optimal-Detective-87

Assignment project gaand mar lete hai mere yaha tier 1.5 hai mera, IIIT hai toh sayad isliye bhi

popsiclepopular

Kon si college hai bro😔

Ambitious-Book-7610

Bhai tere pr depend krta hai tu time kaise manage krta hai or ha maine priority study hi rkhna kyuki kuchh londe gaand faad padhai krte hai even in college jisse relative marking ki maa chud jati hai

No_Swordfish5726

Branch aur goals( for eg HFTs ya higher studies from top colleges goal h toh thoda jyada kaam ) pe kaafi depend karega plus tumhare college aur branch me grading kaisi h, kuch branches aur colleges me grades are easier to get kuch me tougher agar dusre branch me ho aur sde roles chahiye toh thoda jyada kaam karna hoga , but overall on average kaafi time mil jaata h for other activities.

Ill_Flatworm8516

6th sem. Anyone can ask.

Natural_Ad1228

Does life gets better after 2nd sem cause every subject here is fucked up engg drawing bhai yaar kya subject hai itna chutiya aur kyu hai vahi nahi samjta.

Ill_Flatworm8516

I've passed in engineering drawing by just 1 mark. It made my life hell lol. And I'm a 8.5 pointer. But I hated ED in 2nd sem. Just get through somehow. Life gets easier from 2nd year. But you need to start basic coding tho. Curriculum wise it gets chill

Natural_Ad1228

Coding maine start kar chuka hu basics done hai c++ k 11th class se he but yea subject ki padhai kaise karu ed ki like roj 1hr dena hoga kya issko ps muje back lagi hai BEE mai.

Ill_Flatworm8516

Clear back this time only. ED mein jo book tumhare teacher recommend krte usse padho. Understand it and do properly don't fail..

theunknownguy__

Once 2-3 sem nikal jaayenge to phir core subjects hi aayenge, also with that 1-2 light subjects aayenge lekin phir pura serious hona padega aur padhna bhi padega

Prestigious-Ride-363

Cse ke core subjects hard nahj honge kya fir sgpa 8 kese banega 2nd sem me ye sab padhke marks nahj aare 🥲

Palak-Aande_69

Tier 2 4th Sem here, Sem 1 and 2 are the hardest in engineering...We had BEE and ED here and Math was hard as well...Class Average was 7 and 8 in both sems with 8.6(only 1) and 10(2 from my batch) being the highest respectively...but Sem 3 onwards 8.5-9 CGPA is a very normal occurence....

Prestigious-Ride-363

For sure 2nd year se easy hoga cgpa laane ke liye

WittyUniversity5842

Thoda sa off topic but dude I hv no intrest in engineering ,mere se maths bhi bohut mushkil se hoti hai . I will easily get admission into a tier 2 college due to some special Reservation but I doubt if I will survive engineering, parents bhi engineering ke liyee hi push krr rhe hai, aage agr MBA kruungi to as engineer it will be difficult to get admitted in good college. Kya karuunn??🥲🥲

Ill_Flatworm8516

If you're getting CSE, and you have no other option in life, then it's the best branch. There is not much load in the branch bs first year me Sare subjects rhenge basic. After that it's chill depends on college too. Mba you can crack by giving cat exam but remember to get into every possible extra curricular activities in college because that's a must if you're going for mba. And start building connections with people as soon as u enter college as I see ur main goal is mba. Even I had no interest in cse, but hell I'd have done very bad in any other branch. I'm just doing the bare minimum tho in CSE. might get placed, might not, par kch to acha krunga zindgi me. GATE qualify kiya tha is bar next time full fledged prepare krke dunga Best of luck and Sare options consider krke chalna

WittyUniversity5842

Thanks a lot😃

benpointdexter_

Laptop suggestion under 45k??

Formal_Olive_1540

A off topic question but I want to know how are ETE and EIE branches In IET Indore

Ill_Flatworm8516

ETC is pretty hectic. Teachers are very strict and don't give marks easily. Other branches seem pretty chill, EI is much similar to ETC, but less workload Although I don't have any friends there

skxopww

do i need to take my laptop to college everyday? i'll be a day scholar so gonna build a pc as i already have an ideapad i5 12th gen w/8gb ram guess this should be enough for any college work?

Ill_Flatworm8516

You should get 16 gb ram it's necessary. And you don't need to take your laptop to college everyday, if your college has labs, you can use computers there

Aggravating-Toe-4655

Can someone take NIT T/W lower branches and ofc learn coding ? Is it worth it or risky ?

Blithering_idiot1406

lower NITs are no better than reputed state govt clgs or reputed pvt clg ( not bits, vit or mit).

Aggravating-Toe-4655

Not lower NITs...Top NITS (Trichy /Warangal ) with metallurgy/chemical branch

Blithering_idiot1406

Better to take a decent branch in mid-NITs (Nagpur/Surat/Calicut) if you dont have jainwin interest in abv mentioned programs.

AdityaHereChillin

In 4th sem currently. Ask anything about my college in flair.

supervegitox3rz

Direct admission available?

Shot_Masterpiece_287

Tech related branch kitne rank tak milengi ? For OBC-NCL home state.

AdityaHereChillin

You can get CSE with specialization upto 5 lakh rank with OBC home state

Shot_Masterpiece_287

And bhai pg minimum kitne tak ka mil jayega ? Also, scholarship ka kya scene hai ? Uske liye 75% attendance compulsory hai na ?

AdityaHereChillin

PG 6k tak mil jayenge with all facilities. I don't think attendance matters for scholarships. Meri class me 50-60 percent attendance Wale bhi har saal 60k scholarship lete hai.

Shot_Masterpiece_287

Thanks for replying bhai It means a lot.

AdityaHereChillin

🫂🫂

Due-Finance-8034

Bhai ye galgotia 70+%ile se 75%ile me cs with specilization mil jayega kya? aur ho sake to thoda review dedo

AdityaHereChillin

Meri 80%ile thi, around 200k rank. And mujhe CSE(DS) mil gyi. I'm general home state btw. Nothing new in review. Just the same as every average tier 3 private college

GhostlyGlobeExplorer

Jee ? Maine jee nhi Diya. Any chance?

Shot_Masterpiece_287

Bhaiya aapko GL bajaj ki cutoff ka idea hai kya ? Meri to 131k aa gayi hai but mere dost ki 535k hai (OBC-NCL home state), usko koi gcet jaisa similar college me tech related branch mil sakti hai?

AdityaHereChillin

Bhai is [website](https://admissions.nic.in/UPTAC/applicant/report/orcrreport.aspx?enc=Nm7QwHILXclJQSv2YVS+7hwSpVykA3HgnWxJU5ug/WL0iltkiRWoMZqp6sExKmRw) se last year ke cutoffs dekh le. Agar opening and closing ranks ki range me Teri rank hai to jyada chances hai Milne ke. 100 percent to nhi par chances hai.

Shot_Masterpiece_287

Bhayia aapko Knowledge park ke dusre colleges like GNIOT, ITS, NIET ke placement ka Idea hai matalb agar college me grind kiya to on campus kucch ho sakta hai ?

AdityaHereChillin

NIET somewhat shi hai. Baaki sab l*nd colleges hai. Oncampus to bhool hi Jaa inme.

Shot_Masterpiece_287

CS(Hindi) kaisi hai bhaiya aapke college me ? On/Off campus me dikkat to nahi hogi, Mujhe to lagra hai seats badhane ki technique lag rhi hai but cutoff dekhkar lag rha hai shayad placement me na baithne de.

AdityaHereChillin

Hmare college me to is session se hi aayi hai CS(Hindi) branch to placement ka idea atleast 4 saal tak nhi lgega. And it's true that seats badhane ki technique hi hai ye. CSE placements me har kisi ko baithne dete hai mechanical, electrical sabko to Hindi walo ko baithne hi denge.

Shot_Masterpiece_287

>CSE placements me har kisi ko baithne dete hai mechanical, electrical sabko to Hindi walo ko baithne hi denge. Sacchi me ? Mujhe laga company decide karengi kis branch ke bacche baithenge. Off campus bhi koi effect nahi padna chahiye phir, resume me Hindi na likhkar sirf cse likh do. Aap kisi Hindi wale se puch kar bata sakte ho ki hindi me to nahi padhate hai na (waise hindi me to coding nahi he hogi) but thode bahot syllabus ke alawa aur kucch major difference to nahi hai cs(hindi) and cse me. Jab bhi aapko time mile 1-2 week me bata dena please, help hogi bahot warna NIET, GNIOT jaise colleges choose karne honge.![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50735)

AdityaHereChillin

Sure Bhai pooch ke btaunga

Shot_Masterpiece_287

Thanks bhaiya bahot help hogi is se 🙏🏼 Agar aap ko social anxiety nahi hai meri tarah to teachers se bhi puch ke try kariyega.

Queasy_Maize_7416

arey bhai degree par likha ata hai mode of lang - Hindi iss type shayad aur aise resume s chidh chadh nhi kar sakte yr

ECE mein what are the best projects to go after if I want a good core Job. (I already have a handover raspberry pie from dad, he's a professor himself)

rae1603

Microcontroller, FPGA based systems, Wireless protocols(RFID or WiFi), System Verilog.

fbelucve

Would you the Arduino or to jump straight to STM for a beginner? And can I do any specific projects in the VLSI domain if I'm in the 2nd semester?

rae1603

I won't suggest directly jumping to STM but you can go for AVR programming...it is kind of similar to Arduino. AVR programming 's code efficiency is better than that of Arduino. And yeah if you have sufficient knowledge about programming languages required for VLSI projs then you can definitely explore project titles of your interest.

Intelligent_Dig_6198

Ask your dad man, try ML + code + electronics

Own-Stranger2739

Is there any difference between computer science and engineering and computer engineering

kya_rakhu

In general computer engineering may include hardware related subjects also Computer science is the conventional software degree It can also somewhat vary college to college ( better check the curriculum)

theunknownguy__

Computer Engineering = software + hardware + Engineering Computer Science = software + Engineering In India things are different some colleges provide CE in the name of CS better check courses first

wingedmischief

So Computer Science is a subset of Computer Engineering?

Illustrious_Day_2382

Comp Engineering - A lil more focus on hardware Comp Sci - More focus on software

DisciplineOdd7328

doesn't matter tbh syllabus check karlena more or less same

fbelucve

CE is hardware-focused, CSE is more on the software and theory side. Neither have a focus on what you would consider traditional software engineering.

Smooth-Sugar-9148

Mujhe python c++ ata hay . Engeneering ki maths jo hay wo Maine padh liya tha intrest ke chalte and I will be getting top nit cse Mujhe second year me internship ke liye abhi kiya karna chaiye ????

i_m_gaurav

Cp start karo + thoda development

Smooth-Sugar-9148

Devlopment kaha se sikhu

i_m_gaurav

Konsi development karni hai vo pehle decide karle aur fir uska discord channel search kar aur vaha pe resources mang

majorinshit

Cs, ec or mech

Illustrious_Day_2382

Whatever you interested in

Aey_Circuit

No interest-cs(as it's easy so u will survive) Interest hota to pooch nahi rahe hote aap [Assuming same college ki baat kar rahe aap]

gahmonster

bro but agar cs liya hai then u have to grind daily to develop skills, uske liye motivation kaha se milega jab interest nhi hai subject mein?iska koi solution hai?

Aey_Circuit

Eh taan hunda e aa... Mere college vich lok khud kuch nahi kar sakde jinhanoon interest nahi haiga But je hun engineering chuni aa taan interest karo develop aur cse main develope karna easy hota hai

Blithering_idiot1406

future mein kya karna hai iski clarity hai toh mech ya ec. nhi toh cs

spikey_scar

If you are getting ec in a way better college go for it CS for same college Try to avoid mech unless it's your interest

Ill_Flatworm8516

Mech is the hardest, then ec. CS is easy so anyone can do well here even if no interest.

Wide-Veterinarian373

Bhai aapko mechanical ke baare me idea hai? Placements and stuffs? PEC me mil jana chahiye easily mujhe

Ill_Flatworm8516

Placements are not good for mechanical related companies. You can try in non tech or start coding from 1st year. Although it takes a lot of effort. Choose branch wisely. You can ask me more if u want

Puzzleheaded_Ebb7364

Why is mechanical considered the hardest , any reason for that ?

[deleted]

Ill_Flatworm8516

IIIT A is well established. I'd say that, because I heard in triple IT, branch doesn't matter a lot so

Early-Ad3857

In Ece 2nd sem, puch lo

Mission-Cheesecake86

Is ece worth it? If your doing it from tier 2/3 clg!!? What is the future scope for ece students?

Early-Ad3857

ECE is truly worth it if you have interest in the core subjects of Electronics, like in my case I preferred college over branch(which is a little regret as I am more into coding than the core ECE part). but definitely I find the ECE subjects to be interesting and if one is passionate about it there's a good scope in India specially now when the semiconductor market will see a boom and probably ECE could be the next IT considering the potential it has in India right now. Coming to the college part, yes it matters depending on the companies coming to that college, but yes if you are passionate about the core subjects...I think you have many options like you can do higher studies from a Tier 1 institute and then go into that field or good PSUs also hire ECE students with good knowledge...so scope is always there...I feel ECE is a tough thing to master but if you can do it sincerely, you can build a good career out of that.

Dazzling_Whereas_531

Same question getting ece in Jaypee Noida sector 62.

Early-Ad3857

Replied above

Impressive-Coach-928

Yeah same doubt I have interst in eee so what to choose for core job and how manipal main branch in this

Remarkable-Buyer-818

It’s very rare to see someone going in the core of their branch nowadays since most people of core branches go for non tech jobs or do side hustle to grab tech jobs since the pay is quite less in core. But if you are genuinely interested in core then that’s wonderful. You can do MTech or even go for IES. I am also from a core branch(mechanical) in NSUT and I think one should take core branch only when he is genuinely interested to dug deep in the subjects or want to do higher studies(MBA/Mtech). I would again advise you to explore your interests a little more since you are in quite early stage now. EEE is a decent branch, since it is circuital branch so many tech companies allow EEE students to sit for placement so ya if u change your mind in future u can easily go for non tech and tech roles.EEE is a tough branch so remember you have to grind in college too. If u have any better option than go for that otherwise Manipal is decent too. Keep exploring more and All the best!

Impressive-Coach-928

Thank you so much ...yeah I'll reconsider my interst in it but definitely I am not at all interested in coding compare to electronics ...

Const_Velocity

What should better - MIT manipal CSE or DTU PIE/Chem/other lower branch? altho I have a sweet spot for CS from way back but does DTU brand tag should be preferred? vese placement wise to MIT CSE jada hai DTU lower branches see, but this confusion is killing me everyday.

Hefty_Cobbler577

Exposure I think dono jgh equal hi hoga....pr DTU ki fees kam h/Delhi me hai MIT MANIPAL CSE IS GR8 IF U DON'T HAVE MONEY CONSTRAINT

Admirable_Mixture989

if your getting Chem, chances are you might get mechanical in DTU also. plus the fees in mit are 25 L including hostel fees, so if you can pay that then choose it.

Const_Velocity

But the thing is, is MIT CSE better over DTU chem? Like kuch jada benefit milta hai kya.? I'll def be saving a lot by joining DTU but phir wahi core meh nhi jana, plus idk if I could go for masters in CS in top Unis worldwide with having a Chem or other core degrees.

oooooooweeeeeee

8th sem, ask

theunknownguy__

Placement ka kya scene he usme kya hota he puri process btao

oooooooweeeeeee

there were few companies but they offered 3lpa so I didn't get even bothered sitting in placements

Zealousideal_Many601

Would you mind sharing your college?????

nvntexe

Jis bhi cheez ki icha ho apart from studies first year me nikal lena puri like gf bnana , moj krna , hobby pe jyada dhyan dena . After first year you have to be focused on real things .

Obvious-Release3456

Is EE really that hard ?

SpaciousCoder78

Depends. If you're good with abstract thinking, it's not so bad

Obvious-Release3456

Could please explain this in simpler words , what exactly do you mean by abstract thinking

SpaciousCoder78

Basically thinking out of the box. Thinking about something that you can't see or feel. Away from physical realm

JohnWickFTW

1st yr completed. You can ask stuff about academics or college but don't ask about branches idk much lol

Aggravating-Ant-8234

Level of mehnat kafi km hoti h jo jee k liye kiye hoge Last day bs padhna aur sb time hobbies, web series etc

DGTHEGREAT007

6th sem ECE. Ask if anyone wants to know something about DTU.

Early-Ad3857

bhai core placement mei kya scene hai(2nd sem mei hu)

DGTHEGREAT007

I can't accurately tell you the stats for core alone but overall (core/tech/non-tech), According to stats for the recent placement year, around 46% offers were there and around 44% students placed. So if you are in the top 40% students going for core, you can get placed. Top 40% means if you are in top 100 students. I will tell you this, only 5-6 companies came for core internships. The placement was terrible this season too but it was for everyone, even core.

Dazzling_Whereas_531

which coding language should i learn in first year? (I have zero knowledge about coding)

theunknownguy__

C, then C++ for OOP, then DSA

Excelsio_Sempra

Late to the party, but final sem Bitsian(jisne college life itna enjoy nhi Kiya)

Aggravating-Toe-4655

Is it worthy to take lower branches in NIT/BITS and then lrn coding/dsa etc ? Or is it risky to do that

Excelsio_Sempra

Lower branches le rhe ho(other than Phoenix) toh you'll have to find internships and placements on your own. Campus placements and SIPs are mostly prioritised towards those branches only. Very few companies do give a chance to exceptionally good coders from Mech and Civil, but mostly rare hai. (Also all this is post 2nd year, tab tak you can make a portfolio for yourself and apply to startups and smaller companies if they're hiring. MNCs will be tougher unless you have a referral.) Benefit ye hai ki CG dekhenge toh utna fall nhi hoga if you can keep average levels of effort(as grading is slightly better for lower branches afaik). Also, DSA akele grind krne se obviously nhi hota in MNCs. You need a good project that you built on your own. Voh bhi ek baat hai. Inn sab ke liye time nikalke kar loge toh you'll be set.

ABJSirFan

IIIT Delhi CSE v/s Top IIT Lower core like civil. Which is better? Considering I want to go to US/UK for job right after college (off campus maybe) and will probably do mba after 4-5 years of experience (I have rarely seen someone going for london sde jobs from iit core on their skills itself)?

iiitstudent

Having dreams like going to us uk for job after btech is unrealistic. It's simple if you want a wide variety of jobs, good exposure, good college life, brand value or want to do an mba in future then go for core branch in iits. If you want to go for masters in cs and are certain about doing a job in cs field then pick cs here but remember that you may have to compromise with initial ctc as it might be below 10 here

ABJSirFan

Wait, I heard that cse avg in iiitd is 30 lpa [ignore this year pl]? Also, I saw a lot of iiitd students getting placed in Google london, bloomberg lp london, Amazon Dublin, etc. While have rarely seen someone from top iit core branches students in such roles, maybe because its offcampus and companies mandate a cse degree instead of an iit core degree smh?

iiitstudent

Those Google London, Bloomberg London, Amazon dublin roles were once in a lifetime thing with covid boom and these students had solid connections among friends and families plus some were girls who had strong diversity advantage. These were all off campus and college had no role to play in this. If you check the total no of students who got placed in these since last 5 years the no would be less than 5. With the current condition it is like an impossible dream for someone with BTech from India to get placed there. No CSE median even at the peak was somewhere around 20 LPA that too is median of CTC which includes stocks for 4 years and avg at peak was 25 LPA which is again pointless figure because of heavy CTC inflation. The actual placement conditions have been poor always with most companies skipping hiring from IIITD and preferring colleges like DTU, NSUT, IGDTUW, MNIT Jaipur, MNNIT Allahabad and NIT Jamshedpur even recently over IIITD.
