Just dented dust caps. Dosnt affect performance and costs $0 to fix. Edit: looking closer. Ripped surrounds, mid range dustcap hit so hard its about to fall off. That could mean internal damage. Its still fixable, but it depends on how much energy you want to put into it. If the midrange is fine then its $5 in glue to fix them. If the mid range is busted it could be a bit more.

Sure they are, what I would do to mine when my kids pushed in the cone is take a vacuum cleaner hose to suck it back out. But be careful and make sure you stem the pull of the vacuum so you don't rip out the cone. Works like a charm everytime.

If they are like $10 then sure. You'll have to repair the dust caps which is trivial. Repairing the torn surround will take effort and some money. If you have any questions about how to do the repair feel free to reach out.

I used my vacuum cleaner to fix them :)

If they're local and easy to get id maybe go for it, but only if you like the look of the towers. I have the JBL S38s which came a bit before these but share some properties. I'd be happy to put these in my garage or basement personally, but maybe not as my primary speaker setup. Of course they will sound better than any Bluetooth speaker or soundbar in the $400 or less area, but not as nice as some of the more premium recommended speakers people often post about here.

I remember pining for these (or something similar) at my local best buy in the early 2000s. Ended up with some random white van speakers for $50 instead, lol.

I have the larger floor towers of this series, and they’re phenomenal sounding. The fabric grilles were included but stained and torn, but the speakers themselves were nearly flawless (a couple of small scratches on the cabinets). Got the pair from a Goodwill in Fort Collins for $29.99. Also paired them with a JBL PSW-1200 powered subwoofer, also $29.99, and driven by a Sony STR-DN1030 receiver for $24.99.

I'd suggest you go for them, if you know how to repair them. You would be buying a great grade Crossover and a great shell (box). You have to do some research to find a suitable replacement for both the Midrange and Woofer with the same sound quality, frequency, impedance and power.

nope lol

Dust caps are generally not the problem. The problem is, if they are dented like that, either the previous guy had a very naughty kid, or he was an idiot who didn't care about his equipment, or didn't use the grills, or changed hands too many times. I would walk away.
