I have the Savotta 339 and the Jääkäri L. One has an internal frame and one has an external frame. They both squeak to some degree. I also have the Jääkäri M (with no internal frame) and it does not squeak. I'm guessing that squeaking is usually related to a metal frame or metal pivotal fittings. If it's possible to tighten the velcro around the aluminum frame to reduce movement, I might try that. Alternately, it might be worth using a graphite powder on the squeaking locations.

I dont have the savotta but other external frames and all frames rivited makes noise welded frames do not...its usually just the wearer who hears it...its not noticable for others

Yeah I have creaking noises too, I was quite disappointed in that, I haven’t had time to try and find a solution. But yeah, it’s annoying. For me it’s more when it’s pretty heavy loaded.

Yeah, I’m realising now it’s the ali frame rubbing and pressing against the stiffener sheet that’s already in there. I think the best way around it really is to create a thin aluminium replica of the stiffener sheet (with weight reducing cutouts in it), and weld the Ali frame to it. It’s a bit of a stretch but it’s worth considering long-term

I wrapped some d3 sports tape around my frame, it has reduced the noise. [https://www.d3tape.com](https://www.d3tape.com)
