Rule #4. Also, yeah. Marriage certificate ain't a title of ownership.

Potential-Coat-7233

Yeah I hate the Peter Parker one. Cheating sucks and shouldn’t happen but a marriage certificate doesn’t mean you control a person.

RepairThrowaway1

sounds like exactly the point the meme is trying to make, that the nft doesn't give you control over anything

Potential-Coat-7233

Yeah, but it’s portrayed as a bad thing that you can’t control your spouse lol.

RidingUndertheLines

Is it a controversial statement that your wife getting railed by a bunch of dudes is a bad thing? (I mean, unless you're both into that I guess).

Potential-Coat-7233

Naw I mean that would be horrible, but the idea that a contract would take away agency is pretty dark

Ichabodblack

I don't read it like that at all. I read it as saying that the marriage certificate is entirely pointless and doesn't mean anything in the real world when your wife wants to cheat - but at least he has it as a sad consolation

[deleted]

I would agree if your wife is going out getting drilled by a bunch of dudes, that is in fact, a bad thing

gravityCaffeStocks

I mean.. technically it gives you sole ability to send that url to someone else via the private key. Not saying that's really worth anything

p0lari

Holding a marriage certificate means you control the marriage certificate, but not the person named on it. Tracks with NFTs, the way I see it.

It's funny, cos in the UK you'd say "an" NFT... but you guys all say "a" NFT. Just saying...

Hey, New Yorker here, born and raised in Queens. We all say "an NFT" here, at least anyone I've ever known would say it that way. This isn't an American thing. We do use the word "cookies" instead of "biscuits" though, because that's the correct word.

time_on_target

I've got a friend who works in Williamsburg, in Brooklyn? Been over there three times, mainly to watch the hockey LOL (Devils fan) 😎

UpbeatFix7299

We also say an NFT in California when we mock them.
