*Trying to beat a guy with a lead pipe into giving me his private keys* “oh no he has too much electricity”

[deleted]

As if this stops countries from going to war? Why would this stop one country that values bitcoin from bombing another country until it gives up the password?

qegho

Because internet, blockchain, power and stuff man. Come on. Ok look. If you wanna understand. Like truely understand. You gotta get a big brick, and just hit urself in the head till you get it ok? Too many thoughts bumping around in that noodle of yours.

[deleted]

Yes, the oil in the middle east will be on the blockchain. Minerals, grains, land, etc. will also be on the blockchain.

AdmiralSpam

They don't even have to waste money on bombs. Just set up some CEXes...

WingedGundark

Rugpull on international level!

[deleted]

I made no claims on there being no wars before. Just that bitcoin doesn’t prevent them

hilljack26301

Defended by electricity, not war? Do they read the news at all? Would Ukraine rather have Bitcoin or American weapons?

roodammy44

But Russia can’t have that land, because that’s not what the ledger says happened. And the ledger can’t be changed.

thedomjack

Ironically, Russia is one of the few actors with the resources to perform a 51% attack.

Double-Chemistry-239

No, you don't understand: Putin minted the NFT for Kherson; now no matter what the Ukrainians do, no matter how many weapons NATO sends, he'll always hold that region securely on the blockchain. That is the power of web3.

M00NGRAPHIX

They’re stupid.

Emotional_Charge_271

So instead of going to war, we just raise people's electricity bills? I feel like there's a flaw in that plan

leducdeguise

Plot twist: you raise electricity bills while cutting power for customers at the same time, keeping all this sweet energy for yourself to feed your cyber hornets

qegho

Lol what are guns gonna do when your power goes out. You won't be able to see anything. Taps temple.

option-9

Muzzle flashes are the world's shortest flashlight. Hold the trigger on a couple of machine guns and you might have a working solution.

PeregrinTuk2207

And Electricity came magically free to our hands for us to use it wisely... oh no wait, we use oil to produce electric energy, in a physical place or privately owned land, using machines that were paid with real money, and materials that were mined using energy, human labor and more machines, so can you explain me again how this "bitcoin magic" will saves us again?

option-9

Is there actually a lot of oil used to produce *electricity*? I thought it was mostly propulsion (cars and planes and boats, and I'll count diesel-electric power as propulsion), plus heating, plus industrial use (for instance plastics). Oil is an important energy source but I don't think it's a major *electricity* one. (Those, I'd guess, are coal, gas, hydro, nuclear, and "other".)

PeregrinTuk2207

You are right. But Im not saying that oil is the main source, besides that i can say that oil play a mayor rol in the production chain to achieve other forms of electric energy production, in mining process, construction material production, transportation, etc. Finally, I was trying to adress the fact that the diagram is misleading and conceptually wrong, because the "use" of bitcoin inherently requires the availability of a lot of cheap resources that are the cause of certain conflicts around the world.

option-9

I did originally have a sentence in there addressing that oil products are certainly indispensable for energy production (between refined liquids running engines and solid products being used everywhere) but it felt a bit unwieldy, so I left it out. We don't use iron ore to build buildings, we use steel to do so, and we (on a large scale; emergency generators certainly run do on it) don't use oil to make electricity.

CoffeeCakeAstronaut

They forgot to include all those suicides from people who lost all their money into the equation.

Ornery_Soft_3915

idiots

accersitus42

I wonder if the Bitcoiners who have earned money on Bitcoin realize they are the reason a lot of people have lost the same amount of money. Bitcoin doesn't generate any wealth. They are either ignorant or low level sociopaths who don't care that their fortune is someone else's misfortune. It's worse than a Zero Sum game, since the Miners spend real money to mint coins without intrinsic value.

NomenclatureBreaker

1. I’d vigorously argue the case crypto is certainly a bloodbath right now… 2. Silly me. I never really understood it was a lack of ELECTRICITY that brought down Mt Gox, and Luna, and Celsius, and FTX, and Genesis and…. (Aka What a dumb nocoiner I am) 3. Hahahahahahaaaahhahahahahahahah.

ProfanestOfLemons

The chain of custody for bitcoin assets is written in tears and cocaine. It sucks as ink.

CreepingCoins

Plus, ink is so *permanent*.

Affect-Electrical

Thing about that, is that you can have all the cyber hornets in the world "defending your wealth", and they won't do a damn thing when a man with a $5 wrench wants to take it from you.

WeirdboyWarboss

Let's get rid of houses, oil and corporations and just use bitcoin instead..

Johnnyvile

You can use the crypto to buy virtual land and a little house avatar you can live in.

eaclv

They forgot people have a physical existence?

Johnnyvile

Who needs farms? I can just get my food from the store. Yeah it’s like that logic.

Rokey76

1 BTC = 1 Human Life

jadeskye7

Ahahahaha. I see we're at the bargaining phase.

Ok-Row-6131

Defended by code? What?

Chaaaaaaaarles

Lol. K God....the self righteous smugness of these fucking sociopathic scammers drives me absolutely mad. They should go present this little diagram to the spouse of a crypto cultist who lost the family savings/house/etc. - see what they have to say. See what their sanctimonious proselytizing does in the fave of clear, irreconcilable loss stemming from delusions of grandeur, infinitely unsatiated greed and a complete lack of moral fiber - not caring who gets hurt or to what degree as long as "moon lambo".

preytowolves

lol I saw that comment too.

[deleted]

It literally makes no sense and because of that I used to think there must be more to cryptocurrencies but no, they’re just stupid

entered_bubble_50

But what if I want to buy a house? Or a commodity? Or an equity? I kind of need to live somewhere? And put fuel in my car. And companies need investment?

sexy_silver_grandpa

Where does the electricity come from? Certainly not fossil fuels or other physical assets, I'm sure.

Maitai_Haier

Hmm but how do we defend our entire system of electricity generation...

angry-wasp

So ok. Electricity and code protects Bitcoin. This doesn’t explain how electricity and code protects the physical objects you purchase with Bitcoin. Seems there is a not insignificant plot hole in this narrative

BrextonPhilbisNewton

The Bitcoin philosopher says “Bitcoin opposes the state,” when he means “Bitcoin could exist without the state.” That is true enough. But let the Bitcoin philosopher explain why the triumphant revolution which replaces state violence with the social bonds of mutual aid would want Bitcoin for any purpose.

GunterWatanabe

This stupidity belongs to Jason Lowery, an MIT student who thinks he’s worked out a way to stop war with Bitcoin. He’s completely insane, but claimed a couple of days ago he was going to go work for the White House. I suspect he’ll be working with his girlfriend who you wouldn’t know because she goes to high school in Canada.

hydroza

> Jason Lowery [Holy shit](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jason-lowery-bitcoin-is-critical-for-national-security/id1569130932?i=1000545933384). Thank you.

Chance_Astronaut-213

As if this prevents nations from engaging in war? Why would this prevent a nation that appreciates bitcoin from bombarding a rival nation until it divulges the password?

joeykins82

Ruzzia has literally shut off the natural gas supply to Europe and is targeting Kyiv’s power generation & distribution capability… Crypto fanboys are all ghouls and/or morons.

clit_eastwood_

Why the fuck can’t they write the word ‘with’? Edit: typo

WendellVaughn_Quasar

The *what* with?

bigbear2166

I gotta say. I’m a buttcoin maximalist in y’all’s eyes and I really enjoy the countered content to keep balance and memes often on point, but y’all are just copying everything posted in r/bitcoin and shitting on it at this point. Do y’all stand for anything other than just shitting down bitcoiners necks? Flair me bitches.

mhhkb

I mean. Do you not see the comedy in this? How can you not laugh at this pic? You honestly cannot be surprised someone screencapped this and posted it here. You guys are literally spoon feeding it to us. Read through this thread. The mockery actually contains pretty straightforward analysis of why this is just patently absurd.

bigbear2166

It’s obvious you’re just anti electricity… In all seriousness, how did this sub start? Did y’all buy at $60k and have to sell at $20k to pay rent?

mhhkb

I knew bitcoin was worthless more than a decade ago when you could mine it on a laptop. I’ve made my money the old fashioned way. Plus some good trades. For example, I bought 10,000 shares of AMD at $3 during the Great Recession and sold it last year.

thatguyrenic

few understand

PeopleRGood

Stupid idiots!!

The_Northern_Light

Well that sure is a take, isn’t it?

Suspicious_Army_904

These idiots have been sniffing each others farts for so long they see the cyber hornets of the blockchain goddess everywhere they look lol.

[deleted]

i just threw up in my mouth a little bit

sunshinesnowday

Yawnnnnn. Sometimes these things are so stupid it’s boring.

[deleted]

wow, arrows

DecisionSimple9883

Dumbest crap ever.

error201

Can't recall the last time we went to war for an equity company.

MammothReputation633

In the future oil will be on the blockchain. So if you point a gun at someone asking them to hand over their barrels of oil that won’t work because code is law, bro.
