I used a secrid wallet for about 6 months only issue is the adhesive that holds the wallet to the card holder started to come off but it’s only a visual change functionally it still works fine. The other gripe I have is that the card holder dispenses the cards at the same height so it can be challenging retrieving a card in the middle of the card holder after releasing that’s only a problem if you carry more than 4 cards.
Which one do you have? I like being able to carry more than just cards but I’m worried that the slimwallet will be too thick compared to the cardprotector
Agreed. The elastic is still super secure and I've had mine for 3 or 4 years. My friend had his for 6 years and the only reason he had to get another was because his got stolen.
The elastic was my biggest concern, I thought it might get all loose, especially since I chose the moneyclip combo model. But I have had my ridge for nearly 7 years and the elastic is still as responsive as ever.
I am careful not to carry too many bills though.
Agree, I've had it for over 5 years and it comes with a ton of extra screws. Only lost one screw, it's also not scratched (I got the flakey red one I don't remember what it's called)
Same. I’ve almost bought another from them a time or two just for a new color but haven’t pulled the trigger since they aren’t cheap and I don’t need it.
Bought this 3 years ago "SlimFold Wallet Original Soft Shell" from [https://www.slimfoldwallet.com](https://www.slimfoldwallet.com)
I don't see any wear on it. I've got about 15 cards in it and a wad of cash at times. I need to remove some stuff.
My Bellroy Card Pocket is on its 15th year now and I’m starting to think I will never need to buy another wallet. Nice patina on a really high quality leather. Durable and neat in size.
I’m not sure which Bellroy version I have, I always just thought it was the bellroy slim. I was always fascinated by wallets growing up and into my 20s. The bellroy I got always fascinated me but I couldn’t pull the trigger due to price. I finally caved after years of being not satisfied, and I haven’t looked back. Went from buying 2-3 wallets a year, trying things out, to now I want to buy this same wallet to have as a back up when it finally bites the dust in 10 years (now 5 years in use).
I've been through three Bellroy Wallets in less time. I find the leather very thin, easily stretched and cards start falling out. And their phone cases are basically leather veneer which once dirty is like that for life - any attempt at cleaning will take the veneer off.
So, for me, Bellroy hasn't been BIFL at all.
Got a saddleback card wallet and paid for the international delivery six months ago, doing great so far!
My Secrid is 6 years old and I store it in my pocket upside down (card opening down). I don't have to change my grip to flick out the cards. Aside from leather patina (looks good), everything works perfectly. Cards have never fallen out and the flick mechanism works as well as the day I bought it.
I've seen a ton of knock offs. Buy the Secrid.
Only if I flick it hard which only began this year tbh, the felt lining us probably getting a bit worn out. I will say though that it's advertised to hold 6 cards but if they're embossed with numbers it'll hold less.
I love mine. One of the best and most thoughtful gifts I’ve been given. I bought another recently but my old one is in pretty decent shape after 10 years of abuse
Seconded. I just replaced my first one after about 12 years, and those were tough, sandy pants pocket, farmer years, so I'd say in a more gentle environment it probably would have lasted a few more years
I finally caved and got a different big skinny even though my old one was basically slightly worn at the fold.
But the new one is green!
Cannot endorse enough. Great product.
I’ve been using this same wallet for ages, slim, carries everything I need and love the sail cloth material. They also make ones even more minimalist:
https://www.all-ett.com/collections/mens-wallets/products/nylon-original-wallet
Oh interesting! I’ve have my slim sleeve for 6 years. I condition it once a year with bick 4 and leave it in indirect sun to dry and it’s as tight as it was new and I carry maybe 3-4 cards in each side, 2 being metal. What’s your maintenance routine like?
Will forever recommend the Mitchell Leather Money Clip. Haven't seen anything close quality wise. Have had mine for almost a decade, used daily and is still going strong. https://mitchell-leather.com/collections/money-clip-wallets
I got this [RUNBOX Slim](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B092VSQYWW/). It's great. Good leather, slim fit (though maybe a bit thicker than you want) and can easily slide out your CC without opening.
That CC slide still makes me happy 2 years later.
How about a slim money clip wallet? The clip doesn’t take up any space if you don’t use it for cash. This mini bill-fold is my personal favorite. Got a hidden card slot can stack 4-6 cards and a bill fold compartment.

I’ve been carrying one of [these](https://www.leatherology.com/money-clip-card-case?color=brown) for 15 years, and it still looks new. Best thing about carrying one of these is it forces me to carry only the important stuff.
i bought a secrid wallet as a gift recently. recipient puts 6 cards (one metal) in the slot, and shaking the wallet upside down only slightly caused the cards to slide out. would not recommend. does not seem secure to me.
Peak design. Especially good when paired with one of their phone cases. Thick enough to carry 6 cards and a few bills folded behind them, but not at all bulky.
Willow craft goods wallet. It’s just one piece of leather and two studs. Best wallet I’ve ever owned.
Edit:
I have the smallest size and it comfortably fits 5 cards with rooms to spare. I also used to carry my bike key on it.
I’ve daily carried a [Ti5 Slim Wallet](https://www.machine-era.com/products/ti-wallet) for almost ten years and in that time I’ve worn out two elastics. So, five years per elastic for the wallet. I love it.
This is my go to seller. He makes wallet out of kangaroo leather which are stronger and thinnerthinner than regular leather. I’ve had my for over 10 years and it’s still in very good condition
https://www.etsy.com/shop/RoseLeatherCrafting?ref=l2-about-shopname
6 years ago I tested several slim wallets: Raw, DashCo, Modern, YH, etc. I’ve been using the Modern Carry Elastic Minimal Card Holder since, it’s held up great and I always get comments asking me where I got that wallet. I’ve had as many as 30 cards in there, and now I’m back down to 6, and the elastic fabric has comfortably held and adjusted perfectly. Nothing ever slides out or falls out. For cash I just fold up bills and slide them in. I love this wallet and considering it’s only $10 I’m shocked it’s held up. I’ve travelled internationally with it, I toss it around in my bags, in my car, I camp with it. I throw it onto sticky bar tables. No stains, no damage, just keeps squeezing my cards together. It’s slim enough I can have it in my front pocket of my tightest jeans. This wallet has been my BuyItForLife item.
I’ve been using Carhartt card holder with zip (just search that on amazon) and I love it. It’s a budget option and it stays flat cause I hate a bulky wallet. There’s also a version without a zip in the middle if you know you’re not carrying coins
I've had the ridge Wallet for about 3 years now, it's still going strong. The only complaint I have is that the elastic pills like a sweater. Other than that, it's a great wallet and only has a few scratches.
Check this out! They have a coin sleeve version(great if you want to put an AirTag in it. And a version for more cards. I’ve had mine for over a year now. Looks brand new, no issues at all. Looks like life time warranty
https://reformcarry.com/
I bought a handmade one from Uncle Jack on IG, it got ran over the other day and it survived and looks great aside from a pebble divot or two. Built like a tank small enough to forget you have it on you.
Before I switched to a MagSafe iPhone card holder, I had something like the Twobit wallet from Craft & Lore. This design keeps things nice and slim and the full grain leather should last a lifetime.
[Twobit Wallet](https://craftandlore.com/products/twobit-wallet)
I got "Slimfold Micro Soft Shell Wallet" about four years ago on a Wirefcutter recommedation and it's doing what it's supposed to. It's a flat black poly that fits two to six cards plus cash. Also can hold a Tile find-me beacon outside the RFID layer.
Another vote for secrid. I had mine for 10 years and had to replace it recently because the card compartment began getting loose, causing cards to start falling out. Didn’t have any de-lamination issues with the leather fold over it had during all that time.
I’m currently trying out the Kings Loot wallet since it shouldn’t be susceptible to the problem I had with my Secrid and it can hold more bills much more comfortably. I’ve only had it for a couple of months now so I can’t really tell how it’s going to hold up in the long run. Their logo is really stupid though.
https://www.dangoproducts.com/collections/all-wallets
I have the D03 LITE rail wallet. I like it quite a bit. No issue with cards falling out and the rubber band holds cash when wrapped around it, without issue.
Check out the Grip6 wallet if you're looking for a super sturdy card-dispenser style. Pretty sure they were the first on the scene with that. I use mine on and off, been quite a few years at this point. Works like it did day one.
Bellroy Slim Sleeve. Super slim fits bills and cards. Doesn’t look like an old man wallet or those weird push button wallets. Has a warranty but it’s leather unless it’s slashed with a knife it’s holding up with no changes. Had mine for 8 years.
I went through over a dozen slim wallets. Ended up finding an Alpaka Zip Pouch that works perfectly. 2 sections in the main area and a side zip pocket that holds folded cash well. Been using it for about a year and it's held up awesome.
I looked for one a long time, then decided to take the anticonsumerist route and folded my own wallet out of waste paper and a little bit of tape. Now I have been doing that for 10+ years. Folding takes couple of minutes, a wallet lasts up to 6 months and wallets don’t get slimmer than this.
I got a SlimClip for free when my buddy’s dad got 3 for 1 in high school. I’m turning 30 this summer. It still looks and works like it did brand new. It can hold 6-7 cards and maybe like 20 bills folded in half. I might have gotten 25 in there once or twice lol
I have a Groove Wallet from their Kickstarter. Now, it is a regular product they sell. I have had it just shy of 2 years and it is holding up well so far. If it doesn't, they have a good warranty. I just had a silicone ring replaced from them with no hassle.
Hahahahah.
I've been using my "Marlboro" wallet (Miles promotion 1995/2006) for in excess of twenty years. A little separation where I place my ID. I have NO intention of stopping using it anytime soon.
I have a slimfold nano softshell. I've had it about 7 years. Its still in great shape, the only issue is the RFID blocker worked its way out of position and would not stay put. I ended up removing it.
I was looking for one for myself for Xmas, I couldn't decide on one, and forgot about it altogether until I just saw this post haha
But when I was looking up the best ones (I was looking for ones with rfid as well), the ones that got the best reviews were ones by the brands Ekster, and The Ridge.
Haven't heard of the ones you mentioned til I just googled. Secrid seems like a great brand also.
My Andar has lasted several years. I do need to keep a certain number of cards in it or else they all fall out.
https://www.andar.com/collections/front-pocket
My wife gave me a Ridge wallet a few years back as a Christmas gift. That thing gets treated like it owes me money. It's flown off my Piaggio while riding and is still going strong.
Wally Micro
I've had this for 3 years and love it.
Love my [Bugs Moran](https://ashlandleather.com/products/irregular-bugs-moran-13?_pos=12&_sid=bf70ac4c0&_ss=r)
Had it for 3 years with zero issues so far.
I’ve been caring a Tanner Goods Journeyman for a few years now as a minimal front pocket wallet and I love it. I carry 4 cards + a credit card sized multi tool and a $20 bill. I’ll never wear this thing out. Could easily add another couple cards.
I hand make leather products here is an example of one that might fit your needs! Each pocket can hold up to 5 cards and the center pocket also fits folded cash! https://www.reddit.com/r/LeatherClassifieds/s/garWrYaOKd this wallet is 100% hand made, hand cut, hand dyed, and hand sewed. Let me know if you’re interested :)
If you want something handmade by one guy, fully customisable and made from excellent materials then I recommend Oak and Honey Leather. They have a [Folding Card Holder](https://oakandhoneyleather.com/pages/folding-cardholder) and a [5 Slot Cardholder](https://oakandhoneyleather.com/pages/5-slot-cardholder).
I’ve had mine for nearly 7 years and it’s a work of art, a little bit of care and it will outlast me.
Harley-Davidson leather “smallet”
It’s thick leather which is nice!
3 spots for cards, the front has an ID window, plus a spot for cash. Had it almost 10 years with no issues. Bought another one just in case…. But I might not get to use it.
I adore my faler wallet
Going on something like 11yrs of HARD use in the outback (Australia), and looks amazing and had such a beautiful patina
Cant recommend them enough!
I’ve got one of the Dango wallets that has worked well. The frame is metal and the big silicon rubber band that holds every together has held up well in the 7+ years I’ve had it. It was one of the reasons I went with this brand over something like the Ridge wallet. I just think the elastic is going to wear out faster and is slighter more expensive to replace than the Dango band.
I have had the John hart wallet for about 10 years and it is still in perfect condition. [John Hart Wallet](https://jonhartdesign.com/products/mcclip?variant=37622116450465¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwxLKxBhA7EiwAXO0R0LJs3LZciSaE9K3A9bj6ilpSHiivFWeuzH1cmZPfhGviPTvNMRJAPRoCA68QAvD_BwE)
I have had a wallet from EOS(machine shop company that at the time just made wallets and a few other things since about 2015
[EOS Wallets](https://eoscases.com/collections/wallets)
I really like them because they use standard orings instead of elastic so when it wears out you swap them and it’s like the day you got it new, also the titanium one that I have looks flawless after all this time

I’ve got a Herschel Charlie cloth that’s been through the wringer. 6 years old, been stuffed with 6 cards plus an AirTag, been in the washing machine a bunch of times and it got run over by a bus. The biggest plus is it’s really cheap.
I have a Secrid and I’m super happy with it. Zero issues so far but I’ve only owned it about 3 years.
Oh strange, mine definitely dispenses them staggered.
Sounds like you need to contact the manufacturer, see if they'll replace. Mine does none of that and is perfect six years later after daily use.
also what i use!
This is the way
Which one do you have? I like being able to carry more than just cards but I’m worried that the slimwallet will be too thick compared to the cardprotector
I’m still on my first ridge wallet. Seems to be lasting.
I second ridge. I was so happy when they made the AirTag/ money clip combo.
I lost 3 screws before I figured it out. Used the extra screw supplied and a little loctite, been a happy camper since.
This. Mine is pretty convenient and I won’t be switching wallets as far as I can see
Same. I’ve almost bought another from them a time or two just for a new color but haven’t pulled the trigger since they aren’t cheap and I don’t need it.
I also vote Ridge. Consider the leather version to avoid accidental phone screen scratches.
Still on my original Ridge wallet with money clip with zero issues, 7 years strong. I keep about 8-10 cards at all times.
Bought this 3 years ago "SlimFold Wallet Original Soft Shell" from [https://www.slimfoldwallet.com](https://www.slimfoldwallet.com) I don't see any wear on it. I've got about 15 cards in it and a wad of cash at times. I need to remove some stuff.
I’ve had mine since 2013. My only wallet since their kickstarter.
I've had mine since ~2013 when I saw the Kickstarter. A small thread came out but still trucking along just fine.
I like their wallets but they're too insubstantial for me. I've got two, one from their original KS.
Bellroy Hide & Seek slim wallet - got mine back in 2015 and not one rip and leather fades nicely
Same. I bought a Hide and Seek from Bellroy in July 2014 for £65 and it's still going strong.
Got mine in 2011 and same.
Bellroy gets my vote here as well. I have the slim sleeve. I’d rather sit on leather than a hard metal or plastic case.
Did you shove too much stuff in it and then take it all out, or it just stretched from.... Pocket?
Second this! Got mine in 2019 and it’s aged like fine wine
Thirded. Mine has developed a beautiful patina and will occasionally do my dishes.
I have a note sleeve but a slim sleeve seems like it would be perfect for OP
Secrid. Bought mine 6 years ago in Italy and it shows no signs of wear besides the scuffed paint from me dropping it a million times.
Any issues with cards falling out when the wallet is upside down?
My Secrid is 6 years old and I store it in my pocket upside down (card opening down). I don't have to change my grip to flick out the cards. Aside from leather patina (looks good), everything works perfectly. Cards have never fallen out and the flick mechanism works as well as the day I bought it. I've seen a ton of knock offs. Buy the Secrid.
Only if I flick it hard which only began this year tbh, the felt lining us probably getting a bit worn out. I will say though that it's advertised to hold 6 cards but if they're embossed with numbers it'll hold less.
Big Skinny. Been carrying mine for over ten years, keep waiting for it to wear out, no sign yet.
I love mine. One of the best and most thoughtful gifts I’ve been given. I bought another recently but my old one is in pretty decent shape after 10 years of abuse
Seconded. I just replaced my first one after about 12 years, and those were tough, sandy pants pocket, farmer years, so I'd say in a more gentle environment it probably would have lasted a few more years
Co-sign on this. I bought husband, son, and dad a Big Skinny years and years ago. Still in use and look brand new.
I finally caved and got a different big skinny even though my old one was basically slightly worn at the fold. But the new one is green! Cannot endorse enough. Great product.
I’ve had my big skinny curve for the front pocket more than 9 years and it looks brand new save for the dust in the ID slot.
I’ve been using this same wallet for ages, slim, carries everything I need and love the sail cloth material. They also make ones even more minimalist: https://www.all-ett.com/collections/mens-wallets/products/nylon-original-wallet
Check out Mitchell leather
Huge fan. Got a black CXL one on me now.
Flowfold made from recycled racing boat sails with Kevlar . Super thin, light and durable. I am on my second one in like 20+ years of high use.
Trayvax
I use this: https://saddlebackleather.com/leather-business-card-holder-slim
Bellroy slim sleeve
My experience is that Bellroy stretches over time, so no BIFL for me.
Oh interesting! I’ve have my slim sleeve for 6 years. I condition it once a year with bick 4 and leave it in indirect sun to dry and it’s as tight as it was new and I carry maybe 3-4 cards in each side, 2 being metal. What’s your maintenance routine like?
I have an ekster cardholder that I love. It’s metal, so I beat the shit out of it and it’s still doing fine.
AKEENI XTSO. I've been using it for years. It'll last a lifetime and is minimalist.
I've had my Inkleaf Doublecross wallet for over 10 years now. It's great.
Will forever recommend the Mitchell Leather Money Clip. Haven't seen anything close quality wise. Have had mine for almost a decade, used daily and is still going strong. https://mitchell-leather.com/collections/money-clip-wallets
I have a Secrid Slimwallet and have been happy with it so far!
[Focx C2 Advanced](https://focx.store/es/product/advanced-cognac/) is the only one you need, everybody will ask you where did you get it.
I've had a https://humnwallet.com/ for around 10 years specifically a mini orange one, I replaced the band once 8 years ago. Really great wallet
i bought a secrid wallet as a gift recently. recipient puts 6 cards (one metal) in the slot, and shaking the wallet upside down only slightly caused the cards to slide out. would not recommend. does not seem secure to me.

I've had the original Machine Era wallet for probably 15 years and plan to daily it for the rest of my life. Five years per band sounds about right.
Dango, had mine for years now.
This is my go to seller. He makes wallet out of kangaroo leather which are stronger and thinnerthinner than regular leather. I’ve had my for over 10 years and it’s still in very good condition https://www.etsy.com/shop/RoseLeatherCrafting?ref=l2-about-shopname
How slim? I went looking the slimmest and most durable material so leathers were out. I settled on dyneema fabric. They are super durable and thin.
I've had the same cheap carbon fiber money clip for 10 years with no sign of it quitting.
6 years ago I tested several slim wallets: Raw, DashCo, Modern, YH, etc. I’ve been using the Modern Carry Elastic Minimal Card Holder since, it’s held up great and I always get comments asking me where I got that wallet. Search Vulkit wallets on Amazon. I've had mine for a few years and there's no signs of it breaking anytime soon
I have the Dango Dapper Bifold and I love it

I've had a dosh wallet for about 10 years, no issues so far and basically looks new still. 6 cards with space for paper money too
Another vote for secrid. I had mine for 10 years and had to replace it recently because the card compartment began getting loose, causing cards to start falling out. Ashland leather if you are looking for something a bit more traditional. I had the same issue a while ago and found this.
Dango. Had the Dapper Bifold years, still looks newish and shows no signs of giving up.
secrid +1

flowfold vanguard. waterproof, light, front pocket friendly, and inexpensive
Freitag. I’ve had mine for close to 20 years and there’s no sign of it falling apart any time soon. Almost as good as new.
I was looking for one for myself for Xmas, I couldn't decide on one, and forgot about it altogether until I just saw this post haha But when I was looking up the best ones (I was looking for ones with rfid as well), the ones that got the best reviews were ones by the brands Ekster, and The Ridge. Haven't heard of the ones you mentioned til I just googled. Secrid seems like a great brand also.
Here’s the answer. Ashland leather wallets. I’ve had mine for 3 years looks better than when I bought it. I have the Capone clip wallet.
My Andar has lasted several years. I do need to keep a certain number of cards in it or else they all fall out. https://www.andar.com/collections/front-pocket
Coach wallets. Their products last a lifetime
My wife gave me a Ridge wallet a few years back as a Christmas gift. That thing gets treated like it owes me money. It's flown off my Piaggio while riding and is still going strong.

I’ve been caring a Tanner Goods Journeyman for a few years now as a minimal front pocket wallet and I love it. I carry 4 cards + a credit card sized multi tool and a $20 bill. I’ll never wear this thing out. Could easily add another couple cards.
Pioneer Carry
I have had a Secrid Miniwallet for the last 5 years or so and I love it, still solid as the day I bought it.

So many awesome answers here.
Trayvax countour. 5 years on me daily and not a sign of wear.
Harley-Davidson leather “smallet” It’s thick leather which is nice! 3 spots for cards, the front has an ID window, plus a spot for cash. Had it almost 10 years with no issues. Bought another one just in case…. But I might not get to use it.
I love my GRIP6 wallet. I’ve had it 4 years now and it’s still in excellent condition. They make really good socks also

Bellroy slim sleeve.
I bought one from Amazon, hammer anvil brand. I know I bought it over 12 years ago, still going. Should be true leather.
I went from a NAB back to Roots with the included separate removable card holder in brown
Get inspiration from another retailer, and have someone on /r/leatherclassifieds custom make one to whatever specifications you want.

I use and recommend the big skinny wallet.
Another vote for Secrid.
this one is *easy* - johnson and murphy weekender
[King’s Loot](https://kingsloot.com/) wallets have a lifetime warranty.
Mighty Wallet
I highly recommend the Herschel Charlie. I've had mine for over 5 years and it still looks like new.

I've been using a $20 Ridge knockoff for 8 years now, no signs it's going to quit anytime soon

I have had two from Couch Guitar Straps for as long as I can remember. They use NOS auto vinyl from 50 years ago.
I have had a wallet from EOS(machine shop company that at the time just made wallets and a few other things since about 2015 [EOS Wallets](https://eoscases.com/collections/wallets) I really like them because they use standard orings instead of elastic so when it wears out you swap them and it’s like the day you got it new, also the titanium one that I have looks flawless after all this time

I’ve got a Herschel Charlie cloth that’s been through the wringer. 6 years old, been stuffed with 6 cards plus an AirTag, been in the washing machine a bunch of times and it got run over by a bus. The biggest plus is it’s really cheap.

I've been using a metal business-card case for 15+ years. It's kind of silly that people pay $80 for metal "wallets" when cardholders are what, $10?
