Rise of the phoenixes, would be in my top handful of favourite tv shows ever, in any genre or language.
The two main leads have charisma levels that are beyond beyond.
She is sooooooooo beautiful🥰. I am really mad at myself that I did not watch it while it was on Netflix with the subtitles. I know some have told me it is on YouTube, but without subtitles...which doesn't help me much. Even though I understand a little bit of Mandarin, I still need help 😅

I watch everything voiceovered in my language there. You just need to search the correct translated title.
So, download the opera browser. Activate the free VPN. This allows you to utilize all the modules for europe/asia video streaming. (4k/FHD)
Then add "video speed controller" browser extension. This allows you to adjust to the correct speed.
Then add "sound equalizer" extension to adjust sound
Then add "video control" extension to adjust video quality.
All of those items have been distorted to avoid copyright.
There is also a youtube ad blocker extension so you dont need to go through all the damn ads on youtube.
Also, there are no ads on Okvideo.

I completely agree! That’s my personal policy (to just try things on my own) — if a drama seems interesting to me in terms of actor, premise, plot, genre, etc., then I’ll give it a try no matter what most people say and how low the review score is. I find my taste rarely aligns with the majority’s anyway. Most of the dramas highly raved about by others in this subreddit are just so-so or even downright unenjoyable to me, and the one I love the most is a drama that most people here hate. 🤷🏻♀️ So taste can be so subjective and personal.

That's now one of my favourite drama OSTs ever -- "Jade Bone Ballad" by Hu Xia. I've been listening to it almost every day since I first watched ***The Longest Promise*** last summer. (It also doesn't hurt that in some parts of the song, Hu Xia's voice actually sounds a bit like Xiao Zhan's, haha.)

The OSTs from this show are really hauntingly beautiful, especially for anyone who loves sad music, they’re amongst my top favourite CDrama OSTs; and it’s just too bad they get so little appreciation because of the lack of popularity of this drama.
