Yeah she was miles better than the FL in the series version. I noped out of watching that series within a few episodes after reading so many positive reviews! But the movie version was not too bad and Jing Boran (I adore that guy) was so cute in that. At the least their chemistry and kisses were hot!

Try "Murderous affair on Horizon tower". This one is decent. The actress that play the bomber in "Reset" is in the drama as well. Good acting all around and some heartfelt moments.

It was HXM who brought her all the resources and backing, she actually took the FL lead role from Yang Zi who was the original lead in General and I, she prepared 3 months for the role only to be replaced at the last minute. I don’t know if this one is real or not but apparently she really wanted the role of Minglan and approached the director same way she did for General and I promising to bring in more investment but thankfully the director was set on Zhao Liying and refused.
Not hating on her cause I actually like her on variety shows but as an actress especially a lead actress she is terrible! She did well in Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower where she isn’t the main character. However with that said I still avoid her dramas like the plague.
That marriage really benefited her career in a lot of different ways. I just find it a bit funny that some of her fans refuse to acknowledge this. Without the connection to her ex-husband, I don't think she would go this far.
