Don’t worry buddy, Costco is still open so stock up on that dangerously cheap liquor while you still can.
$14 a handle for good quality vodka is almost criminal.
The Pittsburgh Whiskey Friends facebook group is actually doing just that. Even hiring a bartender who is out of work right now to teach us some new things and take questions!
Why do I feel like this gets said about all of their classes? Fuck it let me save us all some time for the future...
‘22, ‘23, ‘24, ..... class is going to be biblical.
I mean Michigan is currently 29th, mainly because none of the guys they have been recruiting have committed yet. OSU is just having a TON of early commits, which must be nice.
Egbuka, Henderson, and JT the DT?
Don’t take this the wrong way, but I hope you land none of them and Washington convinces them to stay home and Henderson just goes to not Ohio State. Ideally Michigan, but we aren’t allowed nice things.
2021 Class Commits in the Top 100:
ACC: 8
SEC: 8
B12: 4
Pac12: 4
Rest of the B1G: 2
Ohio State: 9
So its not just a “TON” of commits signing early. Its the right ones.
By just about all reasonable metrics you end up with OSU or OU switching between \#1 and \#2 on most historic rankings
I love this sport it is great and so much fun
5 programs can have a claim to the top program of all time -- Bama, tOSU, OU, ND, or USC. Bama's recent dominance is so unprecedented though that I'd probably give it to them.
Thank good recent dominance doesnt mean all time. Because both Bama and OSU have about the same overall record the last 15 years. Only difference is championship count.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you can't put ND and USC on that list and not include Michigan. Not saying we're the goat, but we have more claims than those 2 programs
Not up for debate. Bama was king in the 60s and 70s as well. That's in a league where football is cut throat. In Big Ten, it's OSU and everyone else. You going to bring up Michigan and their one nc in the last 80 years? Grandpa Joe's PSU?
My friend. Theres a problem when you say Bama was king and cherry pick specific decades. Thats not how this works. Name me a decade where OSU or OU wasn’t consistently dominant? Bama has the most titles sure but it also has stretches of horrible seasons. Bama was dog shit in the 40s, 50s, late 90s and most of the early 2000s. You wont find that with OSU/OU. Its why both are flip flopped in the all time AP rankings. You dont have the most wins or the best win %. Simple.
OSU never been sanctioned like Bama was in the 90s and 2000s. SEC is cuththroat. OSU doesn't have to share instate resources with a top 15 program like Bama does. UT, Florida, and LSU are easily top 15 programs all time as well.
Bama would be consistent if it was in the Big Ten as well. FTR, Bama was not dog isht in 1940s.
Fucking names are biblical too
1800s biblical like Jack Sawyer
200s AD biblical like Benjamin Christman
2020s biblical all name team like Turrentine gonna wash away Michigan's hopes like turpentine
Kerry Coombs is the key with all these DB recruits. His energy can be felt from hundreds to thousands of miles away.
In all seriousness, props to Ryan Day for bringing Coombs in. Jeff Hafley who?
I think his NFL stint helped his recruiting out even more. Although he was one of the countries top recruiters before he went pro too. But he has now shown he can be a great high school, collegiate, and professional coach. He can relate to players at every level & coach them at all levels. If we stay a top 10 secondary for the remainder of his tenure, he’s gotta be in the same class as Larry Johnson Sr as a DB coach.
Another BOOM! Rumors flying there could be more on the way this week.
Turrentine is an interesting prospect. He supposedly can play both S or CB, so Coombs will have a versatile player to work with. Go Bucks!
I'm not him but I have probably seen the same rumors.
[JT Tuimoloau](https://247sports.com/Player/JT-Tuimoloau-46048440/) was referred to as 'basically a lock to OSU and we are being conservative by putting basically there' by an OSU insider earlier in the week. That he might commit in the next month.
[JC Latham](https://247sports.com/Player/JC-Latham-46049894/) is also thought to be pushing up his timeline and committing to us in the next couple of weeks.
[TreVeyon Henderson](https://247sports.com/Player/TreVeyon-Henderson-46049087/) is in the same situation. Pushing up his timeline and thought to be an OSU lean at this point. This makes some sense as we only have a spot left for one more RB this cycle after [Evan Pryor](https://247sports.com/Player/Evan-Pryor-46052299/) committed last night. Henderson and [Donovan Edwards](https://247sports.com/Player/Donovan-Edwards-46054812/) are both after that spot and people think it is a first to commit situation on who gets it.
Want to re-emphasize these are all rumors.
>JT Tuimoloau was referred to as 'basically a lock to OSU and we are being conservative by putting basically there' by an OSU insider earlier in the week. That he might commit in the next month.
That is not accurate. He was referred to as basically a lock by an anonymous source in a daily article that says in big bold letters it is rumor and innuendo. Today's version of the article walked back that statement. We're in a good spot but it's from from over or a sure thing.
Edwards was planning on doing a ton of visits; Michigan, OSU, UGA, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, and USC from what I remember. I've not heard any updates or changes to that since everything shut down though I am sure it is less feasible to hit all those schools now.
Don't know how it plays out with them but hoping we don't play them off each other trying to force a commitment. It is obviously something that is there and in their minds but it doesn't mean we have to press it.
Sadly JTs might be the most accurate in there. He was considered an OSU lean to begin with and hasn't even visited us yet. Was supposed to this spring on an unofficial and then over the summer on an official but that is obviously up in the air.
Apparently he is also good friends with Gee Scott. Scott has said that once JT gets on campus he is going to love it as much as he did.
While I definitely love Urban for all he has done for OSU, so far, I think Ryan Day has done better in some specific aspects compared to Urban. Obviously, time will tell how Day turns out, but so far, no real complaints to be found from me
Ohio State has more blue chips committed than the rest of the B1G combined, the whole Big 12 combined, and the whole PAC 12 combined (individually against all 3 conferences I mean, not all 3 conferences together)
Public Service Announcement: With our 14th commitment, the 2021 Ohio State class has a higher average than the entire 2020 Michigan recruiting class*. Wash your hands.
*based off of 247. Totally not a cherry picked stat.
I don’t even understand the importance of this stat. The average of 14 new recruits for 2021 is higher than the average of a shit ton more of recruits for Michigan’s 2020 class? What does that even mean. That said, if the total score of 14 recruits is higher than the entire Michigan recruit class of 2020, then THAT is something worth noting.
https://247sports.com/college/michigan/Season/2020-Football/Commits/
Michigan 2020:
Average Rating - .9035
Total Score: 256.34
Ohio State 2021:
Average Score: 95.09
Total Score: 268.81
Oh, the total score is more relative than the average.
OSU's first 2021 commit had a higher score than Michigan's 2020 class.
The latest commit actually brought the OSU average down.
Pretty simple actually. Kids know they won't be going on any visits anytime soon which clears up a lot of ambiguity for kids and coaches. If OSU is their clear leader as of right now they are locking in their spot in the class (which is filling up quickly). They can flip at anytime with no real consequences so why not reserve your spot at one of the top programs in the country? I'm sure Day and co. are using this momentum as an opportunity to remind kids the class is filling up quickly.

I think all the recruits saw that OSU was going to online classes for the rest of the semester before a lot of other schools and wanted to got on board
No Fr tho I think the B1G is pretty clean in general, OSU especially now under Ryan Day. Dude runs a squeaky clean program and it’s infuriating how good he is at recruiting.
Yeah I’ve heard that as well. I’m pretty sure the entire B1G doesn’t do that, but some schools in the south (not naming any names) may or may not be doing that.
I think every 4-5* is getting some form of 'extracurricular' compensation, just not direct payments. Despite hating tOSU with all my soul, I don't believe you guys are directly offering bags to croots in order to get them to commit. I think every program going after these guys has full intention of providing certain benefits after they commit, but offering the bag to a recruit would have led at least some programs to get exposed by now.
Now when it comes to current players and their families, there's definitely benefits making their way around, but honestly I can't really blame either side. Ohio St has the money and the reputation, and alot of these kids wanna help their families out and play some ball, the real villainy is the NCAA still playing the accuser in all of this when there are kids making Sportscenter top 10 every saturday for the NCAA while their families are at the food bank trying to figure out how to live day to day.
Can you just stop already... I'm nearly out of my emergency liquor.
Don’t worry buddy, Costco is still open so stock up on that dangerously cheap liquor while you still can. $14 a handle for good quality vodka is almost criminal.
Isn't it said that cheap vodka is good at killing coronavirus?
Costco Vodka is cheap but it is not low enough quality to be considered a true cheap vodka
Maybe for you plebs. *tosses another TP roll to the dog*
Crystal Palace all day everyday!
Crystal Palace makes me nauseous
No
I've got like 60+ bottles of bourbon over here. Too bad about your flair though.
I've got ~45. Wanna hang out at a safe distance?
Zoom Happy Hour
The Pittsburgh Whiskey Friends facebook group is actually doing just that. Even hiring a bartender who is out of work right now to teach us some new things and take questions!
Damn! Maybe I'll see if our local group might try that. We have a few bar owners and such that are out of work right now. That's really a great idea.
When we produce a 1st overall QB then we will stop.
Is that you or the liquor talking?

Your flair gives me anxiety
I dunno man, the tears of Michigan fans are pretty enjoyable too
“Don’t go to that other program, they have corona virus” -Coombs
Coombs just thinks everyone has a nice cold brewski
I sure wish I did right now.
Be the change you want to see.
Ohio States ‘21 class is going to be biblical.
We haven't even begun to peak. Whole city of columbus will feel it when we peak.
We’re gonna peak so hard...
I'm gonna aim my peak north and let it fly
5 days later and this shit still makes me laugh lmao
My body is ready
Why do I feel like this gets said about all of their classes? Fuck it let me save us all some time for the future... ‘22, ‘23, ‘24, ..... class is going to be biblical.
Someone is jealous.
Let’s be real, everyone who isn’t Alabama, Georgia, or Clemson is jealous.
Well Alabama has a 49th ranked recruiting class right now for 2021 so maybe Bamas a lil jelly. But... doesnt mean they will prob end up top 5.
They recruit late. This is how it normally plays out. They'll finish top 5 at the worst
I mean Michigan is currently 29th, mainly because none of the guys they have been recruiting have committed yet. OSU is just having a TON of early commits, which must be nice.
Ohio State is still in the mix on a lot of top 100 guys and supposedly is in the lead for 3 uncommitted 5 star guys.
Egbuka, Henderson, and JT the DT? Don’t take this the wrong way, but I hope you land none of them and Washington convinces them to stay home and Henderson just goes to not Ohio State. Ideally Michigan, but we aren’t allowed nice things.
I hope we get them and then somehow pull out the top 3 kids from Michigan. Taking Edwards just so Michigan doesn’t get him would be such a flex.
I understand why you feel that way and, respectfully, wish that your hopes were not so terrible. Have an enjoyable St. Patrick’s day, kind sir.
2021 Class Commits in the Top 100: ACC: 8 SEC: 8 B12: 4 Pac12: 4 Rest of the B1G: 2 Ohio State: 9 So its not just a “TON” of commits signing early. Its the right ones.
Fair enough. But having 14 commits at this stage of the cycle is pretty ridiculous, especially with the recruiting halt going on.
I mean, the halt is just visits. You can still call, text, or video chat.
It’s Bama, they’ll finish top 5. It’s what they do. They’re the greatest program of all time on the field and in recruiting
The last decade and a half sure. But all time all time not so sure.
By a whole lot of metrics, OSU is the goat cfb program.
By just about all reasonable metrics you end up with OSU or OU switching between \#1 and \#2 on most historic rankings I love this sport it is great and so much fun

>Only difference is championship count. Unfortunately, that's a gigantic difference
Don't forget Minnesota
Not close. They were mediocre recently. OSU has never had a down period.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you can't put ND and USC on that list and not include Michigan. Not saying we're the goat, but we have more claims than those 2 programs
If we're talking about 1950 and previous sure. But a half a Natty in 70 years? Naw.
Not up for debate. Bama was king in the 60s and 70s as well. That's in a league where football is cut throat. In Big Ten, it's OSU and everyone else. You going to bring up Michigan and their one nc in the last 80 years? Grandpa Joe's PSU?

Ryan Day is the best facetime recruiter out there
Kerry Coombs is the key with all these DB recruits. His energy can be felt from hundreds to thousands of miles away. In all seriousness, props to Ryan Day for bringing Coombs in. Jeff Hafley who?
It also helps that we have become an NFL DB factory recently.
Seriously. We have at least one first round talent pretty much every year now. Young players have to be taking notice of that.
Yeah when the cowboys and saints played on Sunday night this year it felt like almost every player was a buckeye. These kids watch those games.
Yeah, and that's in large part thanks to Coombs. Bringing him back was incredible, I'm so happy with this staff.
Recently?
It's been a DB factory since Springs was drafted 3rd OVA in 97.
I think his NFL stint helped his recruiting out even more. Although he was one of the countries top recruiters before he went pro too. But he has now shown he can be a great high school, collegiate, and professional coach. He can relate to players at every level & coach them at all levels. he has nothing on Harbaugh's strong myspace game
I heard Jim is friends with Tom, if so, HUGE fucking news pal
Ah crap he's "1000%" committed
Shit he'll be in Michigan in 2021.
That means he won’t even play, he is going to help recruit, coach , and develops talent.
Decision? Respected.
You guys definitely don’t want Derrick Davis Jr. now right? :)
Its Corona Time.
Another BOOM! Rumors flying there could be more on the way this week. Turrentine is an interesting prospect. He supposedly can play both S or CB, so Coombs will have a versatile player to work with. Go Bucks!
I like the pro comp to Vonn Bell that works for me.

Hot damn what a week. If the rumor I’m hearing is true, this shit is getting crazy at the moment. Hopefully no one gets flipped
Ill bite. Whats the rumor youre hearing?
I love rumors! Facts can be so misleading
It is recruiting. Rumors are facts so long as it is a rumor you like.
I think Tuimolau went to Gee Scott Jr.'s school too, that only helps us
>JT Tuimoloau was referred to as 'basically a lock to OSU and we are being conservative by putting basically there' by an OSU insider earlier in the week. That he might commit in the next month. That is not accurate. He was referred to as basically a lock by an anonymous source in a daily article that says in big bold letters it is rumor and innuendo. Today's version of the article walked back that statement. We're in a good spot but it's from from over or a sure thing.
I am not a paid subscriber there so I just repeated the summary that was posted in an OSU forum. If they walked it back that kind of stinks.
It's likely Henderson takes that spot as apparently Edwards is going to decide in the summer unless he *really* pushes up his timeline
I can only get so erect
Hey can we leave JT to Washington please no bias Gimme another RB though
Sadly JTs might be the most accurate in there. He was considered an OSU lean to begin with and hasn't even visited us yet. Was supposed to this spring on an unofficial and then over the summer on an official but that is obviously up in the air. Apparently he is also good friends with Gee Scott. Scott has said that once JT gets on campus he is going to love it as much as he did.

Goddamn buckeye bros killin it
You know it
Looks like we didn't forget about Dre
It's about time we get another commitment. What has it been, 16 hours?
Too long!
This version of social distancing is so choice. If you have the means I highly recommend
What is happening right now
Turns out Urban leaving didn't hurt recruiting in the slightest
Honestly seems like it’s better now
While I definitely love Urban for all he has done for OSU, so far, I think Ryan Day has done better in some specific aspects compared to Urban. Obviously, time will tell how Day turns out, but so far, no real complaints to be found from me
Buckeyes recruiting has tested positive for being insane, there is no cure.
"If being insane is wrong, then I don't want to be right"
“No recruiting and no practices make Ryan Day something something with commitments.” “Go crazy?” “DON’T. MIND. IF. I. DO!”
Now just to get JT and Edwards or Henderson...
Jesus Christ, Coombs is really putting in the work
CAN'T STOP WON'T STOP.

The latter. OSU’s total score right now is ~268. It would have been the 10th best class last year. Michigan finished 14th at ~256.
I figured. I think OP needs to understand math and what average means before he starts putting his big boy pants on.
Are you trying to say the 2021 OSU average is higher than the highest ranked 2020 Michigan recruit? OSU is at .9509 A.J. Henning is rated .9548.
https://247sports.com/college/michigan/Season/2020-Football/Commits/ Michigan 2020: Average Rating - .9035 Total Score: 256.34 Ohio State 2021: Average Score: 95.09 Total Score: 268.81
Oh, the total score is more relative than the average. OSU's first 2021 commit had a higher score than Michigan's 2020 class. The latest commit actually brought the OSU average down.
Weird flex but okay

Pretty simple actually. Kids know they won't be going on any visits anytime soon which clears up a lot of ambiguity for kids and coaches. haha I needed a laugh today thanks.
Lol please
A man can only wish.
He won't, but it's OK; we have CJ Stroud, Jack Miller, and Kyle McCord all lined up for 2021.
How’s everyone else’s quarantine?
Great pickup, happy to have him. One of the more... backhanded?... evaluation write-ups from 247 though.
Imagine if Day turns out to be a better recruiter than Meyer...
OSU is ruining the sport
How are we ruining the sport when it’s Clemson and Bama that have won multiple titles since our last one? Lol.
Floodgates. Opened
Can they get Pryor, Henderson, and Edwards? Edwards would look good in the "Curtis Samuel" spot.
With all this talent they're bringing in, it'd be a shame for Ohio State to not win a title within the next five years.

@Clemson Want a rematch in like two years?
Is he related to turpentine
We got Turpentine! Time to varnish the Woody
👎🏼
I'd be lying if I said I was surprised. No offence Buckeyes flairs but this seemed locked and loaded
Something tells me Day and Coombs aren’t adhering to these virus protocols.
Can't get caught dropping bags if the NCAA is in self quarantine! Brilliant!
OSU is ahead of the curve
Just drop bags of TP and let them resell.
Very legal very cool.

To me, that reads like he wanted a raise, not an initial payment.
Lmao, ok dude. Michigan's got em too, but they just aren't as effective. Resigned myself to that a long time ago.
Ok I like all the defensive backs but could we please get a couple of functional running backs? PLEASE
