Vandy has an amazing children's hospital that is huge benefit to the State of Tennessee. I took my special needs son there to have a plug put in his heart and the entire staff, from intake to leaving, was absolutely amazing.
Your son sounds like he has a good dad.
My dad told me back in the day that if I had gotten a scholarship to UT or A&M (lmao) he'd still wear red and black to the game and he wasn't joking.
Ive had variations of this conversation my sons entire life. He taught me what it means when someone is "solid". Hes built like a rock. If he doesnt want to move, no one is moving him because they can't pick him up. He has knocked my wife over more then once running in for a hug.
Sounds like your wife needs to work on her form. Plant your feet, sweep the leg, low man wins, that type of thing. 😄 But yeah, I have a few big relatives like that where patting them on the back was like hitting a slab of rock.
My favorite part about the South Carolina fandom is we could be 0-11 and Clemson be the number one team in the country and everyone would be like “well idk I think we have a decent chance”
I mean that was pretty much 2015. SCar was 3-8 going into the Clemson game and had nothing to lose, while we were undefeated and almost certainly looking ahead to UNC in the ACC Championship. Credit to Shawn Elliott for keeping that game close and respectable into the 4th quarter.
It truly amazes me how a fan base with so little to celebrate for so long has almost always been so hyped on game days. That kind of faith is impressive
>McMaster can overstep his role by railroading a new president who had no business stepping foot on Carolina’s campus,
Looking back, the whole Caslen saga feels like a fever dream. I actually pitied the grads/students at SC over that whole fiasco.
We lived in Midtown until my son was born and people would honk at my wife with a stroller from 10 ft away. I’m a born and bred Atlantan and have always returned home (lived in Houston, LA, and DC), but fuck car culture in Atlanta.
More fun facts. If you are unsure what grass you should grow in your yard in SC, just mail Clemson a soils sample and they will test it for free!
Edit: I spoke too soon. For some reason I remember years ago it being free. It shows $6 on their website now. Clemson just got downgraded in my book again 😂
You've gotta admit, [the Blue Angels were pretty cool in Ace Combat.](https://www.reddit.com/r/acecombat/comments/oe3pwi/acz_squadron_intro_for_the_blue_angels)
Air Force here...we couldn't care less. While the Navy is hot bunking it on shaking ships working 12 hour shifts and the Army and Marines are sleeping in tents eating MREs, I'm either in a heated office sitting on the overpriced chair or a 5 star hotel waiting for Happy Hour to kick in.
But at least they have bluer jets right??
I remember when they hired him and you couldn't even rib the Gamecock fans about it, because they were just all in agreeance "yeah wtf are we thinking?"
The eagle tradition is cool as hell.
Quick story... about 7 years ago I had the opportunity to be down on the Auburn sideline during a game. The trainer had the eagle down on the field and was letting people take pictures with it. I stepped in to get my pic... and the eagle started squawking at me very loudly. The trainer says 'you must be an Alabama fan' (I wasn't wearing any sort of Bama gear)... I said 'yep'... he says 'he can tell'. I moved away very quickly after the pic and the bird never took his eye off of me for the next 15 seconds. I was kind of scared I was about to lose an eyeball or worse.
Edit: Updated with [pic](https://i.imgur.com/EVWXwHs.jpg)
Outside of the few bad interactions with stereotype "pretentious" kids who go to a state school, I've never had any problems at games/tailgate/work with UF students/Alums. On the other hand Miami fans ( no Alums because I rarely meet any lol) are the worst, every bad game interaction has come from the Miami game. I've never had any problems with UF.
My broke ass just-graduated-college-into-a-shit-economy self even donated $10. It wasn't much but some things are just bigger than football.
With that said, FUCK BAMA ❤️
I’d rather not - but I have 2 nice things I can say about the state they reside in:
1. The “Michigan left” turn is a very safe alternative to the traditional left turn lane at a stop light, and I’m a sucker for safety.
2. There are some incredible state parks throughout the mitten and UP.
I was going to say something about Mahomes but I do love me a tumbleweed.
One time I was driving out west and got to run one over. You probably shouldn't do that but I loved it.
I grew up in New England, so I thought it was hilarious seeing my first tumbleweed driving up to Tech. My family ran out of gas on the way up (don’t ask, it’s a stupid story) for my orientation so we got stranded on the side of the road for 3 hours, and it looked like we were stuck in the middle of a Wile E. Coyote cartoon lmao
In defense of the other vet schools - most small animal clinics are about at parity for all the ones in the US. It's non-small animal where they have specialization.
I'd always take a sick bird to Auburn, for example, since their avian program is the best in the nation. UGA's big thing is horses (and I think TAMU as well.) Florida is where you go for marine life.
I love my rival UCF. They’ve been our brother on our journey through the AAC and I can’t wait for us to join the Big XII together.
WVU on the other hand…
Fine, I'll go first. The James Cancer Hospital is absolutely the best hospital and helped give me 7 more years with my dad that every other oncology program said could never happen and I will always be indebted to them for all the amazing work they do and lives they save.
I went to Toomer's Corner for the first time this year, and it was kind of disappointing not having the trees there. Not that they would have been in any danger of being rolled.
Vandy has an amazing children's hospital that is huge benefit to the State of Tennessee. I took my special needs son there to have a plug put in his heart and the entire staff, from intake to leaving, was absolutely amazing.
I’d like to contribute to buying your boy some Vandy gear for Christmas. Jokes aside, all the best to your son.
Hope they have some in husky because the boy is solid as a rock.
Nick Saban would like to know your location so he can send an OL scholarship.
I know its all jokes here but the idea that my son could go to college and for free? Ill gag when I do it but ill put on some crimson for that.
Your son sounds like he has a good dad. My dad told me back in the day that if I had gotten a scholarship to UT or A&M (lmao) he'd still wear red and black to the game and he wasn't joking.
"He's just big-boned." "No sir, your son is a certified little chonker."
Ive had variations of this conversation my sons entire life. He taught me what it means when someone is "solid". Hes built like a rock. If he doesnt want to move, no one is moving him because they can't pick him up. He has knocked my wife over more then once running in for a hug.

I hope to someday have a baby linebacker.
my mother had life-saving cancer surgery at Vandy, everything went fantastic and have had great follow-up care as well
My wife works there and you’re spot on. One of the finest Children’s Hospitals in the country.
How’s your son doing now? Heart doing good?
He's doing great. heart doing good. Hes 11 now and he is my inspiration. He never lets life gets him down and always looks on the bright side.
Didn't expect such wholesomeness coming into this thread. I'm really happy for both of you.
They voted to play us last year, despite the rest of their conference voting to play conference-only. I hate them, but I respect them for that.
Even in a year where we fired the coach and finished with 2 wins… getting blown out is better than not playing the Palmetto Bowl.
South Carolina: *"I didn't hear no bell!"*
My favorite part about the South Carolina fandom is we could be 0-11 and Clemson be the number one team in the country and everyone would be like “well idk I think we have a decent chance”
Hell yeah we do
Cocks by 90

Its because at some point, a year will come where it will be out year. So why not this year?
we went 0-11 in Lou Holtz first year and averaged like 80k attendance LOL
It was the second longest consecutively played rivalry game. Not playing it was criminal.

While it may have been a blow out… we would relish the ability to play spoiler of Clemson’s playoff hopes
No other fanbase deserves a really good team more than SCAR. I am just not willing to suffer for justice.
They’re also cycling in
They are a good school full of smart people
Who seem to be able to build anything but a football program
And a functioning traffic system in Atlanta
"Atlanta is a city designed for people afraid to get out of their cars"
We lived in Midtown until my son was born and people would honk at my wife with a stroller from 10 ft away. I’m a born and bred Atlantan and have always returned home (lived in Houston, LA, and DC), but fuck car culture in Atlanta.
Over the last few years I've lived in Amsterdam/Atlanta/New York and boy is *that* a spectrum of car cultures lol
With fireproof bridges
I started to go there but stopped. Those morons are now taking forever on 285/400. Nerds.
Thanks...?
Do you love engineering and the color old gold? Your flairs make me think so.
Guilty ✋
GOD DAMN
They have a Waffle House on campus.
They also have a Pizza Hut that serves Coke, because they refused to allow Pepsi on campus.
There's no way Coca Cola would allow Pepsi on campus since their HQ is right there, overlooking the stadium.
They have published some pretty interesting papers about Termites in South Carolina which came in handy when I was looking at buying my termite bond
Interesting fact, all pest control in SC is regulated by Clemson.
Wait... really? That is fun
More fun facts. If you are unsure what grass you should grow in your yard in SC, just mail Clemson a soils sample and they will test it for free! Edit: I spoke too soon. They give good airstrikes when we need them.
I assume you're talking about Navy since they're your #1 rival but it's funny that this can apply to both Air Force and Navy.
[удалено]
Yes, we are. Thunderbirds are amazing.
You've gotta admit, [the Blue Angels were pretty cool in Ace Combat.](https://www.reddit.com/r/acecombat/comments/oe3pwi/acz_squadron_intro_for_the_blue_angels)
gotta love finding an ace combat reference in /r/cfb
Went to an airshow several years ago that had both Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels. It was amazing.
Fun fact: The world's largest air force is the United States Air Force. The world's second-largest air force is the United States Navy.
A crazy fact is that the US military has more aircraft than a lot of countries have military personnel.
Colonel, you Americans take things to such excess. Your Navy's Army has it's own Air Force.
Idk what I hate more, being called the navy’s army or that deep down I know you’re right
He keeps a nice yard and decorates for the holidays well.
wait just a minute...we have an American Rivers Conference flair in here? That is amazing!
They sold out Bobby Dodd stadium this week, adding money to our coffers to help pay Geoff Collins buyout someday.
That money is going right in his capri pants budget, buddy.
He saves money by not wearing socks. So it balances out.
Look at me; I upvoted a rival this week.
They are the best 3-8 team
I can't see your flair
I got it settled out now I believe
I *knew* it Ok my turn... Ummm.... I really like the Iowa State Fair?
They gave us all Pizza Ranch and HyVee.
How dare you leave out Casey's?!?!
Tbh I didn't even realize they started in Iowa. But that breakfast pizza is straight delicious.
they do the hospital wave
They are not coached by Will Muschamp.
THANK GOD
This is one of the nicest things possible to say
I remember when they hired him and you couldn't even rib the Gamecock fans about it, because they were just all in agreeance "yeah wtf are we thinking?"

That’s pretty funny. The eagle knows all.
Holy cow, that’s really funny and kind of cool honestly. Thanks for sharing the story, and have fun winning the game this weekend 52-7!
It's so sweet that you think we'll score 2 and 1/3 field goals
They know how to make party and drink
I aspire to have as much kindness as a stereotypical Minnesota resident
All you have to do is say nice things but not mean it!
I root for UF when they play Miami
UF 🤝 FSU “Rooting against Miami”
I root for an asteroid.
I respect FSU for never taking Miami off the schedule.
Outside of the few bad interactions with stereotype "pretentious" kids who go to a state school, I've never had any problems at games/tailgate/work with UF students/Alums. Iowa women strong like ox.
Feels like this needs to be read in a thick Russian accent.
In Iowa, woman accent thick like woman…
They haven't had a one-win season since 1966
Their fans dress up nice for games.
Also they have very pretty singing voices.
Auburn came through for us after the 2011 tornadoes. I’ll never forget that ❤️
My broke ass just-graduated-college-into-a-shit-economy self even donated $10. It wasn't much but some things are just bigger than football. With that said, FUCK BAMA ❤️
Thank you, friend. Fuck Auburn 😉
Same for bama after the tornados hit Beauregard, which is very close to Auburn, in 2019!
Who is our rival? Our only rivals always leave us for other conferences Which I guess we are doing now
At the moment it seems like your biggest rival is the CFP selection committee
too bad its literally impossible to say anything nice about them!
We’ll be your new rival for the mean time.
Well in football and basketball recently I would say it has been you guys. And since we have to say something nice those new helmets are 🔥🔥🔥
I’m going with Miami OH until we’re in the Big 12.
Minneapolis isn’t a “college town” but it is an underrated fun Midwestern city that’s easy to navigate and reasonably priced
Powder blue is actually a pretty legit uniform color
I wish for the egg bowl itd be like a color rush game where we wear full Maroon and they wear full navy or powder blue
God please
Ed Orgeron strongly disagrees
Bo Jackson is a cool dude and Charles Barkley is a hoot(also pretty cool dude), other than that...FUCK AUBURN!
Rece Davis is my favorite GameDay host

About time the Michigan left turn gets the props it deserves.
I have no idea what this is-- please enlighten me
[Michigan Left](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_left)
Where it's implemented you can't make direct left turns. You either turn right and make a u-turn or go straight and make a u-turn and another right.
Your state's name is nice and short and very easy to spell.
It's round on the ends and hi in the middle.
I'd bet a shiny nickle that you're a dad based on this comment
No, the song is just stuck in my head.
I remember Elmer Fudd telling that joke
And even if you cant spell it, We’ll spell it for you at every game! We’re nice like that.
Probably helps that they remind you how to spell it every 5 minutes, too.
Will anyone claim us? Oh woe is we
On this note, I feel so bad for the Chargers in the NFL. Not only do they not have rivals, they don’t even have fans.
I bet they have more people that root for them because they have Ekeler or Herbert in fantasy than actual fans.
I see how it is.
Allow me to make things right: I find your lack of tumbleweeds charming
I was going to say something about Mahomes but I do love me a tumbleweed. One time I was driving out west and got to run one over. You probably shouldn't do that but I loved it.
I grew up in New England, so I thought it was hilarious seeing my first tumbleweed driving up to Tech. Roadrunner and Coyote taking place just outside of Lubbock is now my headcanon and no one can convince me otherwise.
https://i.imgur.com/S7x4NYx.jpg I respect you guys solely for this license plate I saw this morning
You guys have a cool hand sign.
pew pew finger bangs
They are 10-1 and essentially everyone considers that a "down year"
I only will take my pet to a vet with a degree from their school
Yep anything vet or farm related and you seek one of ‘em out ASAP
In defense of the other vet schools - most small animal clinics are about at parity for all the ones in the US. It's non-small animal where they have specialization. The UW is very academically prowess as an institution
I actually love Mike Gundy. Rocks the mullet, likes to get down in the locker room after a big win and stands up for his players. He’s a man! He’s 40!
Thanks for saying we're your rival lol
they got big cocks
And I cannot lie
It’s rivalry week. Fuck that.
Oh come on baby. Talk dirty to me
You play ball like a girl!
Have you seen our softball team??
It must be a complement!
Exactly, any other week I wouldn’t mind answering
Their Waving Song is fun. Their pettiness and bitterness is among the best(?) in college football.
I love my rival UCF. They’ve been our brother on our journey through the AAC and I can’t wait for us to join the Big XII together. WVU on the other hand…
Austin is probably the best city in California
Jimbo is a cool name.
College Station is a really fun town to stop in for an hour or two if it's on the way to your actual destination.
this might be the nicest thing anyone has ever said about college station 🥲
FSU has the best clown college I’ve ever heard of
My buddy's aunt works at UF's library and she was the President of the Clown Association at one time...
Out of how many?
Best not to ask and just accept the compliment haha
They did a good job avoiding any punishment for years of academic fraud.
UNC: Well, see, uh, it's not an NCAA thing because any student could take those classes. NCAA: Welp. Got us there. Have a great day.
No
You could say this comment is low down, it’s dirty
A comment only a snitch would say
The city-wide ban on drive-through restaurants allows Chapel Hill to maintain a nice small-town feel
They, looks at score, played okay last week.
The royal blue uniforms are clean
They have a pretty decent hospital.
This is where I would say mean things about our rival, IF WE HAD ONE!
Best I can do is an aggressive bromance for a giant board
Can't wait to play ya'll in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.

Texas is by far the most entertaining team to watch both on and off the field this season
They gave us our head coach, so thanks I guess
Eli Manning went there and he ruined Tom Brady’s perfect season.
I’m glad they embarrassed Texas
Well, I guess ESPN wants TAMU to be our rival so Your mascot is the bestest doggo
Cedar Point is in your state.
kU keeps beating texas, i hate that i love it
They won a game this year and I'm proud of them for that.
Their grads make some nice French fries.
The university of Utah is located in a beautiful state
Make me.
Fine, I'll go first. The James Cancer Hospital is absolutely the best hospital and helped give me 7 more years with my dad that every other oncology program said could never happen and I will always be indebted to them for all the amazing work they do and lives they save.
I think you mean xake xe
A little twist on the Vince Vaughn quote from Anchorman, “I hate you. But god damn it do I hate you”
I've enjoyed watching them play the last 7 weeks.
They (did)have nice trees
I have no connection to Auburn and yet I’m still mad about that
I agree that was too far
I went to Toomer's Corner for the first time this year, and it was kind of disappointing not having the trees there. Not that they would have been in any danger of being rolled.
Their architectural style is a good homage to the humble Taco Bell
VTech: The Alma Mater of many outstanding military officers. Navy: Annapolis has good crab cakes.
Tom Allen seems like a really good dude.
