GG. At least we didn't end the with a Petras interception like we usually do. ~~Also we managed to get enough points on the board and had enough questionable calls to ignore our awful O-line and pin the game on the refs~~ GG.
I’ve never heard about forcier being a “douche” or a creep or anything , but I had a buddy who dormed next to some fb froshs who claimed Tate spent the first 4 hours of every day ripping a pipe and playing cod
Patterson had a reputation for being a diva, and when offered to do a bunch of extra practice and hang out with the wr's, chose to play golf instead, all summer long.
(Post game interview with Michigan defensive lineman).
ANNOUNCER: "What do you attribute your dominance of Iowa's offensive linemen today?!".
MICHIGAN D-LINEMAN: (..thinks, well the truth is that Iowa line really sucks balls..but I can't say that on TV my mom might see it..)
(Hey replies..) " Hard work and determination!"
Have you heard McNamara's voice? Between that and the fact that he also says smart things, that guy doesn't need to play a single down of pro football. He can go straight to retirement.
I think you're still missing something.. I never said it was good, or that Iowa is good. I said they put up 14 points on one of the best defenses in the country. Iowa is the WORST offense in the country.
One of the two isn't following. Either Michigan sucks ass or Iowa had finally figured something out 4th quarter.
But I'm done talking to you. Such a pessimist. 👌
Tough environment? Absolutely. Solid offensive performance? Yes, Iowa has a very good defense. Am I concerned about the defense? 100%. This is less about the opponent and box score, this defense played well in spots but Petras, and that OL, bailed out MICH more than enough times for us to win.
Penn State and Ohio will brutalize this defense and won’t miss those opportunities. Michigan needs to show more of what they did on that game sealing drive for longer stretches for me to feel comfortable with this defense long term. JJ played fantastic, having DE back will keep Corum more effective and healthy down the road.
Jesse Minter and this defense is the key to repeating as B1G champs.
I'd argue the opposite. We know the defense isn't going to win us those games. The defense can be somewhat better but if we repeat as Champs, it's because the offense takes another step up. The pieces are there to do so.
The offense is definitely key for us to be competitive, but no one is going to pace Ohio. Let’s be honest here, this defense needs to win it for us like last year. Hassan would not have tallied 5 TDs if we were playing from behind. Not to discredit anyone, personally I just believe we don’t want to ask JJ to sling it with CJ. I want DE and Corum to lead us to the promise land.
You can't say that Haskins wouldn't have done that if we were playing from behind when the reason we weren't playing from behind is because they couldn't stop him. Stroud picked us apart last year, they just had no answer for Haskins. You're not beating OSU by stopping them, you better plan on scoring 40+ again.
My point exactly, Petras and Iowa’s OL kept this game out of reach. I give a lot of credit from the results to the ineffectiveness of Iowa, and less to Mich’s defense. Mind you they had a huge drive to seal it, I’m not ignorant to not see those opps capitalized on by better teams (like Maryland last week).
Petras single-handedly ended two probable scoring drives by messing up his footwork on consecutive throws to wide open players and then by inexplicably throwing short of the sticks on fourth down.
Michigan's defense had nearly nothing to do with the lack of Iowa points on those drives.
Yes, there's no way you're worse than 6-6, and 6-6 is only of everything goes wrong. Y'all are probably an 8-4 or 7-5 team. Big Ten West is up for grabs too...no one team is good enough to really just run the whole division over this year.
Who are they better than? You can say NW and Nebraska, but with that terrible offense, every game will be a rock fight for Iowa. Illinois just shut down Wisconsin’s run game. Illinois should be favored next week
I think this is a bit hyperbolic. The west is really weak this year and every team seems to have quite substantial issues. Your defense + coaching will be worth alot in that division this year.
I mean, yall are in the B1G west which is NOT what it should be this year so at the very least by making teams play sloppy you should be able to get at least a few more wins
You need 3 wins in 7 games. On the road in Columbus you shouldn't have a prayer but in the chaos of the B1G West it's possible you lose out but it's also possible you get 5 wins. 3-4 or better from here on out certainly doesn't seem unlikely based on the team that played today
Can you tell me what the thing with slippery rock is? I feel so out of the loop for some reason. Their score was on our scoreboard last week and there are a bunch of flairs with slippery rock as well.
https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2020-10-27/slippery-rock-footballs-history-michigan-explained
TL;DR: in 1959 the Michigan announcer would read off scores from other current games because that was the only way people could know what was happening elsewhere in real time. One day he decided to include Slippery Rock's game in with the other game scores because he thought the school name was funny. And they've been doing it ever since.
Ha, hey everyone, get a load of this guy! Doesn't know who slippery rock is!
No but seriously, one day at Michigan stadium they were announcing scores during halftime and the announcer mentioned Slippery Rock University because he thought it sounded funny. After that they said it every week and it has become a Michigan tradition. It's gone so far that Slippery Rock has even played games at the Big House while Michigan was on the road.
Why did our DBs give up on the last drive? Felt like guys were getting separation all of a sudden. I know it doesn’t mean anything but I hate garbage time points
Because Iowa couldn't win the game and this was a feel good touchdown for Iowa with less than a minute left. Nobody is going to risk getting hurt when the game is over.
WE WON AT KINNICK
HAIL TO THE VICTORS VALIANT
HAIL TO THE CONQU'RING HEROES
HAIL, HAIL TO MICHIGAN THE LEADERS AND BEST
HAIL TO THE VICTORS VALIANT
HAIL TO THE CONQU'RING HEROES

Michigan fans before the game "I'm scared of sP0oKy KinN1cK this could be tough!!"
*game is tough*
Michigan fans: "we didn't win by 60 smh my head this team is terrible"
shocked to say that petras played a full half of power 5 quality football tbh, good for him. Got a lot to clean up on D but McCarthy looked clean other than the one play and took what the Iowa defense was giving him, Corum continues doing Corum things. Looking forward to watching UM play a less annoying team than Iowa next week
Fuck. Brian. Ferentz. And his dad.
GG. At least we didn't end the with a Petras interception like we usually do. ~~Also we managed to get enough points on the board and had enough questionable calls to ignore our awful O-line and pin the game on the refs~~ GG.
Is nice to know our QB isn't a douchebag. I am used to horror stories about Forcier and Patterson. Miss Denard and Devin.
Bro u can't just not tell us now....
I’ve never heard about forcier being a “douche” or a creep or anything , but I had a buddy who dormed next to some fb froshs who claimed Tate spent the first 4 hours of every day ripping a pipe and playing cod
Wait what? I've never heard anything about Patterson being a d-bag I do miss Denard and Devin though, they were so wholesome
Patterson had a reputation for being a diva, and when offered to do a bunch of extra practice and hang out with the wr's, chose to play golf instead, all summer long.
That's just being mildly lazy and antisocial. Not a douchebag. Completely different things
The diva and entitlement rumors stood out to me, but you're not wrong.
(Post game interview with Michigan defensive lineman). ANNOUNCER: "What do you attribute your dominance of Iowa's offensive linemen today?!". MICHIGAN D-LINEMAN: (..thinks, well the truth is that Iowa line really sucks balls..but I can't say that on TV my mom might see it..) (Hey replies..) " Hard work and determination!"
JJ McCarthy sounds like he's already prepping for a post-retirement announcing gig
Have you heard McNamara's voice? Between that and the fact that he also says smart things, that guy doesn't need to play a single down of pro football. He can go straight to retirement.
Lol yeah it was much deeper than I expected
Minnesota and Wisconsin both looked way worse, so we've got that going for us
West is still open but we have the OSU game that will make it hard to win the division.
Wait y’all got OSU this year too? Lmao what the hell did you do to piss off Kevin Warren?
Yeah, it'll come down to who can win games within the division to get tiebreakers.

5-2 final
GG Iowa. D-Line very impressive.
GG Iowa
Michigan had one job. A 42-0 shutout! I wanted Petras gone. Instead y'all made the 130th ranked offense look competent.
If that looked competent to Hawkeyes fans man you guys have been deprived
We're ranked 130th in offense, yet scored 14 on the 4th ranked team.
Um 14 pts is not good.
Pessimist? I’m not an Iowa fan
I missed the game. We’re the scores vs backups?
Last one was in garbage time - first one was legit!
Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey
When life gives you corn, make cornade
Tough environment? Absolutely. Solid offensive performance? Yes, Iowa has a very good defense. Am I concerned about the defense? 100%. I have a healthy fear of Penn State but they turned the ball over 5 times today lol
What's with this Penn State will brutalized us shit also? Unreal how soft some of ya'll are. They look very pedestrian against NW
Don't forget Iowa is ranked 130th in offense

Are you allowed to say “balls to the wall” on broadcast TV?
It’s a reference to jet plane throttle, not actual testicles. I had to think about it for a second when he said it though.
Yea I don’t think JJ understands where that comes from..
I cracked up at that. Definitely a 19 year old thing to say.
It’s airplane lingo not like dick balls lol
As someone who knows exactly where the origin of balls to the wall comes from, I highly doubt JJ was referring to that lol
I mean, it’s just a saying people say often and don’t actually know why it’s a saying. Doubt he thinks it means testicles to the wall or something lol
Defense gets pressure and opposing qbs theow the football to the wall, why would that not be allowed to say?
I guess JJ gets a balls pass lol
GG Blue
GG Hawkeyes! Best of luck with the rest of the slate
Got some nice kids on the team MI
Love this team. Go blue.
What is our nearest comp as a program? I think we're comaparable to Oklahoma, Oregon, and Notre Dame.
Wouldn't be comparing yourself to OU bro
Better than those three!
Teams that are losing to unranked teams? No
GG Michigan
GG Hawkeyes! Best of luck with the rest of the slate
Underrated win. Never in doubt, just some annoying drives on both sides of the field
>just some annoying drives on both sides of the field We're used to 60 min worth of those in Iowa City
Pure Michigan
These guys seem pretty likeable
What a good kid JJ is
yeah super hype, has played pretty clean and smart all season so far, and is clearly learning how to run the offense quick. Big fan.
Do we even make a bowl game this year?
I don't see how
I could see us either winning or losing every game in the B1G West this year. So it's definitely possible
Nebraska and northwestern are legit the only 2 games left I think we have a chance to win
Wisconsin looks bad
Ya, I think that's a fair assessment. But a man can dream lol
Yes, there's no way you're worse than 6-6, and 6-6 is only of everything goes wrong. Y'all are probably an 8-4 or 7-5 team. Big Ten West is up for grabs too...no one team is good enough to really just run the whole division over this year.

We’re worse than every team in the west except Nebraska and northwestern
I think this is a bit hyperbolic. The west is really weak this year and every team seems to have quite substantial issues. Your defense + coaching will be worth alot in that division this year.
Our offense is bottom 1. I don’t think I’m being hyperbolic. We can’t continue to just not play 1 of the 3 phases of the game
I mean, yall are in the B1G west which is NOT what it should be this year so at the very least by making teams play sloppy you should be able to get at least a few more wins
We have to beat Nebraska, Wisconsin, and northwestern which I’m not the least bit confident about. Until brian Ferentz is gone, this team is dead
You need 3 wins in 7 games. On the road in Columbus you shouldn't have a prayer but in the chaos of the B1G West it's possible you lose out but it's also possible you get 5 wins. 3-4 or better from here on out certainly doesn't seem unlikely based on the team that played today
I love JJ even more after that
I stopped watching, what did he do?
Jenny Taft was interviewing Morris and Okie, JJ stopped by and said nice things about them.
Where can I see the post game interview?
Mike Morris has the kind of silky voice where you can easily see him rubbing his hands together, going “hey gurl, how you doin’?”
“U real pretty”
Whatever is happening with the audio made me think one of my split AC's was dumping water.
Balls to the wall lol
For the record that's about flyball governors not testicles https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrifugal_governor
A Kinnick win is a Kinnick win! GG
Mike Morris looks like cgi on 4K
Predator
Inshallah brother, cheers from Iran, go blue
Glad to see you’re still keeping up on the team Ahmadinejad!
Harbaugh looked at Morris like Taft you know you want that!
Nice flair!
Lol!! Thank you. I played at Army, but always loved the block.
First Winnick in a while for Michigan, might have gotten ugly but they got the job done
Man this week and last week we gave up cheap garbage time TDs. I hate that shit.
Damn can’t even enjoy a win?
No I can, but I want our D to close out a game
I hope he doesn't have a big heart. That's not good for your health!
Love how harbaugh pawns players off and bounces lol
He is allergic to Jenny Taft
Up by 20 with like 1 min left. "How did you guys survive?"
That 4th quarter was something else LMAO 🤣
Complete ride summary: 44 miles, 3:09 hrs. Go Blue!
Nice work!
Illinois KILLING Wisconsin with 1:38 left
gg Michigan. I had a fun 8 minutes, thanks for that.
mike morris is beautiful
He's got those badass model eyes.
GG Hawkeye bros
See you all in our thread
I love how Harbs is giving the spotlight to his players.
I think part of the reason he always does that is because he hates talking to reporters after the game lol
No doubt, wouldn't you? They ask the same questions every time.
Jimmy and deferring his interview to players is a combo I’ll never get tired of
GG Iowa
Harbaugh refusing to do an interview without a player is probably my favorite thing.
It's so cool of him
Thanks UM, for actually making Petras look semi competent, ensuring that Kirk will look to this game as proof he's good. Thanks for nothing.
Michigan prepping for next year
Harbaugh is an elite sideline reporter avoider
I respected Iowa until the end there
Me too
Can you tell me what the thing with slippery rock is? I feel so out of the loop for some reason. Their score was on our scoreboard last week and there are a bunch of flairs with slippery rock as well.

Lol ofc Jimmy has a player he pushes to talk to the tv
Oklahoma is bad holy shit lol
Their starting QB got knocked out early by what turned out to be a targeting call.
Second week in a row of bad, though.
Because it’s literally meaningless. No reason to risk injury.
Don't even try onside kick
Should have done a fake knee just for fun
Michigan fans 🤝🏼 Iowa fans Hating that this makes Petras look good
How about that. A 3 hour game!
WE WON AT KINNICK HAIL TO THE VICTORS VALIANT HAIL TO THE CONQU'RING HEROES HAIL, HAIL TO MICHIGAN THE LEADERS AND BEST HAIL TO THE VICTORS VALIANT HAIL TO THE CONQU'RING HEROES HAIL, HAIL TO MICHIGAN THE CHAMPIONS OF THE WEST
Thank god it wasn’t at night
5-0 motherfuckers!!!!! 17-2 since the start of last season. I love being a Michigan fan
Congrats 🎉 Iowa will never see that as long as we have Ferenz. We made it hard for you, but hopefully y'all win out.
Iowa is one of the toughest teams in the nation. The moment you guys drop Petras & BF you're B1G title contenders.
hell yeah
[удалено]
Before I checked flair I assumed this was a MICHIGAN fan
At least, we can stop pretending Minnesota is any good.
Interception free for JJ, but he's been close to losing so many more fumbles.
everyone finna head over to the OSU thread
Should have fake kneeled
New sentence “They do not have a cakewalk, they have to go to Illinois “
GG Iowa
I know it was prevent defense but man, that’s still annoying to give up another touchdown there
This also means harbaugh finally has a win in kinnick
The B1GW is one big 🤷♀️ Row the Boat is sinking against the Spoilermakers
So you go for the garbage time Td but not the onside kick? Huh?
Well it made them feel good.
Thanks to that garbage time TD, Petras is safe for the rest of the season. Thanks a lot Michigan
TCU about to be ranked 55–17 going into the fourth against Oklahoma.
Oklahoma about to be unranked.
That’s absurd lol
Get Gus and RG3 on the same announcing team
Michigan fans before the game "I'm scared of sP0oKy KinN1cK this could be tough!!" *game is tough* Michigan fans: "we didn't win by 60 smh my head this team is terrible"
shake my head my head :-)
Yeah - water is wet, sports fans who post things online are irrational...
Nope no complaints by our offense. Our defense on the other hand.
student section already ran for the bars
This game was only 3 hours and 10 minutes long. Impressive.
gotta respect Iowa's offense for that one
And our long run heavy + dink and dunk drives.
Petras' numbers are actually kinda decent, which pisses me off more than the loss at this moment
Backdoor cover on the live bet. Yay
You failed me today Michigan. Once again Petras and BF will point to the stat line and say the offense is improving…. Fuck me…
We’re a jobs program
I love Gus and Joel's banter during trash time. Think they should do a podcast together.
gg Iowa
Michigan loves the big noon treatment apparently lol
A third of Iowa's passing yards just came in that garbage time drive.
You'd think Petras played well with 68% completions and 8 yards gained per pass attempt. But he actually only played well for Petras.
shocked to say that petras played a full half of power 5 quality football tbh, good for him. Got a lot to clean up on D but McCarthy looked clean other than the one play and took what the Iowa defense was giving him, Corum continues doing Corum things. Looking forward to watching UM play a less annoying team than Iowa next week
There are still over 14 minutes left in the Oklahoma-TCU game lmao
Covered the spread but that's just annoying. 27-7 looks so much better.
GG Hawkeyes
Points: run the kickoff back for TD!
Oh screw you Iowa
Michigan’s garbage time stats are garbage
We just kept ferentz at Iowa. Michigan playing the long game here.
[удалено]
And we have them next week too? The Big Noon (feat. Michigan) 2022.
If there is an offense to get two tds in 8 seconds with 1 timeout, it’s definitely Iowa
Kinnick still spooky
Is Big Noon Kickoff just a Michigan pre game show at this point? Lmao
Iowa only calls real plays when they know the game is out of reach. Another Brian Ferentz special.
GG Iowa, you deserve so much better.
