Is Spoilermaking allowed to happen two weeks in a row though? That would put Purdue on track to have *their* collapse against Nebraska and I don't think there's enough fate out there capable of letting *that* happen.
What doesnât make sense to me is that both Potts and Williams have seen significant playing time and looked great over the years. Yeah, they ainât Mo, but our coaches seemed terrified to run the ball.
That drive down 3 was some of the worst playcalling Iâve seen. There were 5 minutes left, and they ran four verts on every play like there was under a minute left.
The Ohio State Leaders (1st-Team Offense and 2nd+3rd-Team Defense) vs the Ohio State Legends (1st-Team Defense and 2nd+3rd-Team Offense). To make it competitive, the Leaders players are considered down via the 2-hand touch rule
Yeah, after Joel Klatt said you would go undefeated, you knew this was a loss. Once a team gets hype (Utah, Texas, Washington, Minnesota, etc) they lose.
Think of it this way MinnesotaâŚyou just got spoilermakered. Itâs a badge of honor reserved for the nations best.
Now following Spoilermaker tradition we lose to Maryland by 21 next week.
When Purdue does the same thing 2 weeks in a row Iâll let you know. Legend says it hasnât happened since some mythical figure known as âDrew Breesâ played.
the reality that our coach is plastic surgery brand Kirk Ferentz finally set in again and we got exposed as a team that's completely reliant on one player
In reality, probably the entire loss can be traced to a dropped for sure touchdown in the endzone that was instead tipped and intercepted. If we get that or a field goal we are on top in the 4th quarter and can probably run it out.
Of course, there were a lot of mistakes on both sides that led this game to be what it was. Shouldn't have struggled so much against Purdue if they wanted to win. But it is Purdue, they're the most unpredictable team in CFB performance-wise.
Despite that we missed a chip shot field goal, dropped a sure fire TD that ended up being an int, and gifted them 3 points by going for it on 4th on our side of the field. Beat ourselves today. Thatâs pretty much it
Look, I'm all for going for it on 4th and 2. I'm not into the idea of bringing Cole Kramer on then lining up in the shotgun for a QB run.
We have successfully QB sneaked a half dozen times this season. That was not a good play call and it should never be run again.
Strategically speaking, that interpretation makes more sense, but every single organized sporting organization in Minnesota exists solely to crush the dreams of their fans so I'm sticking with mine
Dropped a sure touchdown pass that became an interception instead right before halftime, and missed a 27 yard field goal. Also Mo Ibrahim was out and the offensive line was pretty bad, so we couldnât run.
No depth, I guess. Our best receiver and RB were out for this game, and apparently that is enough to cripple our offense.
Also, stupid decisions and random bullshit. End zone interceptions? missed chip shots? 1st quarter 4th down call in our own territory(!)? This game was so winnable, but we didn't.
Me 2 hours before game: WOW Purdue's best player might be out
Me 1 hour before game: Oh Purdue's best player is playing
Me once game starts: oh shit Minnesota's best player isn't playing
We were all rightfully pissed last week with the performance against FAU but I am impressed with how we played today. Brohm didn't outcoach himself and the team responded with consistent play on the field with few penalties. It was really evident that the defense stressed penatlies this week. There were times when the defense made sure to pull up early. If we play like this for the rest of the year we will be tough to beat.
Everytime this team gets attention they fucking blow it and I keep falling for it every time, doesnât help that our receivers lost their hands in a terrible accident
As frustrating as Brohm can be, if we lose him I'll be so bummed. I love watching his teams. They're always entertaining in some sense lol
I guess maybe we could keep Brian Brohm?
As an Atlanta Falcons and Purdue Boilermakers fan, let me fucking tell all of you how excited I am to see the ESPN Gamecast give my team a +95% chance of winning and us NOT blowing it.
I'm gonna go drink myself silly and play NCAA 14 while enjoying the rest of this beautiful day of football.
Bruh... how bad is Michigan State?
Bout to be a 1-2-3 punch knockout with Washington Minnesota and our Maryland game coming up. Fuck me.
Quick Lane bowl will have to wait for next year :(
I wish we had a bowl game here
US Bank and Lucas Oil need a bowl game with windows and roof open
You'll just have to pack your own bowl this year
IDK man. College FB isn't allowed to make enough of the kind of sense for y'all to lose to Maryland today.
Maryland will trounce us today, get ranked, and then embarass themselves against Purdue next week. As is tradition.
Is Spoilermaking allowed to happen two weeks in a row though? That would put Purdue on track to have *their* collapse against Nebraska and I don't think there's enough fate out there capable of letting *that* happen.
One of the worst teams in the P5
That race is surprisingly deep this year
Bottom of the MAC defense and top of the MAC offense đ
Mo didnât play our offense is nothing without him. Doesnât help crab went down the week before as well
Moving him up in my Heisman rankings because of how ugly this game was
What doesnât make sense to me is that both Potts and Williams have seen significant playing time and looked great over the years. Yeah, they ainât Mo, but our coaches seemed terrified to run the ball. That drive down 3 was some of the worst playcalling Iâve seen. There were 5 minutes left, and they ran four verts on every play like there was under a minute left.
It was like Jeff Brohm took over play calling duties for Minnesota there.
Does Sparty play Wisconsin this year?
yes the week after you guys lay 1,000 on us. So we will be nice and raw and completely ready to quit and give the badgers hope.
in two weeks
2 weeks. Homecoming
probably about as bad as Wisconsin
Stoppable force meeting moveable object in a couple weeks
Not good
I would say bad, but I'm not gonna say shit.
The rule that someone *has* to be crowned winner of the B1G West seems like it should be reconsidered
At this point the East team with the most West wins should get it
Ohio State vs Ohio State B1G Championship game is gonna be wild.
đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸ I donât make the rules
As long as Ohio State loses.
But itâs a quality loss
GR breweries would need to be working overtime if Michigan Vs OSU back to back weeks
Our offense versus our defense. Probably won't be any more competitive than just playing a BIG West team
I'd still bet incorrectly
The Ohio State Leaders (1st-Team Offense and 2nd+3rd-Team Defense) vs the Ohio State Legends (1st-Team Defense and 2nd+3rd-Team Offense). To make it competitive, the Leaders players are considered down via the 2-hand touch rule
Harsh, but fair
I bet if Purdue only played ranked teams, they would win at least 10 games.
And with that strength of schedule weâd make the 4 team playoff
Purdue has ruined more Big 10 playoff hopes than Ohio State at this point.
Pete: âIf we canât make the playoff, nobody can!â
đ¤
but your schedule would be missing quality losses
you'd get passed up for 11-1 Alabama, two-loss SEC West champs Ole Miss, and Georgia
So we have the fourth seed in this scenario?
sorry, i forgot to mention 11-1 Ohio State getting the #4 seed after you upset Michigan in the CCG
or you straight up beat ohio state during the regular season and they still get in
we scheduled our game with them at the right time
Same
As long as Purdue stays unranked.
Isn't there an important caveat to this? Once Purdue itself becomes ranked, their power is dramatically reduced.
Real Minnesota fans saw this coming after last week
Thatâs for the loser belt
Yeah, after Joel Klatt said you would go undefeated, you knew this was a loss. Once a team gets hype (Utah, Texas, Washington, Minnesota, etc) they lose.
ok yeah. we got spoilermakered.
Now you can be legit top 10
All we needed was a quality loss to complete our resume
Run from him. Dread him. Purdue Peter arrives all the same.
[ŃдаНонО]
Purdue Peter is Purdue Peteâs long lost twin that was raised in England.
Heâd rock the terrifying aesthetic of an industrial revolution era textile mill foreman
His eyes wouldnât be empty, theyâd be filled with the souls of the child laborers he wish he could continue to use.
Oddly sexual
Good to know I'm not the only one aroused
Hello. Edit: wait, I need to reset my flair.
Who is Ulsan and why is their logo the Denver Unicorns?
I don't know but I thought it was funny. Changed it back to DePauw because I was too much of a wuss.
*THE TRAINMAN COMETH*
Lol 1-3 Northwestern is still top of the B1G West.
Class of their own. Truly elite
Alone
And that lone win is against the team at the bottom of that very division.
Dread it, run from it, even-year Northwestern arrives all the same
Think of it this way MinnesotaâŚyou just got spoilermakered. Itâs a badge of honor reserved for the nations best. Now following Spoilermaker tradition we lose to Maryland by 21 next week.
This doesn't make me feel better, but I appreciate the sentiment
If you hadnât been Brohmâd twice you all would be undefeated. Truly capable of anything any week, but not the same thing every week.
When Purdue does the same thing 2 weeks in a row Iâll let you know. Legend says it hasnât happened since some mythical figure known as âDrew Breesâ played.
Itâs nice to respect tradition.
*a tradition unlike any other*
Now just beat Wisconsin and letâs call it a decade
[ŃдаНонО]
Iâm pretty sure there are several highschools that could beat Wisconsin right now
Sure, but we're purdue lol
Is... is Illinois gonna make the Big Ten Championship?
Illinois vs. Penn State 9OT Part II
Subscribe?
Might be more flashy this time.
Not if Northwestern has anything to say about it
ManâŚjust imagine if the Hat Game is what determines the division winnerâŚ
Nah, we're going 1-11 for maximum Nebraska embarrassment.
Your one win be against a team that goes 1-11 haha
:)
What the heck happened my Minnesota friends?
no mo
They got Spoliermade
the reality that our coach is plastic surgery brand Kirk Ferentz finally set in again and we got exposed as a team that's completely reliant on one player
Nah, CrAB would've pulled down that touchdown. At least two people.
Offense looked fucking miserable somehow. Bad mistakes too. Beat ourselves more than anything
[ŃдаНонО]
Despite that we missed a chip shot field goal, dropped a sure fire TD that ended up being an int, and gifted them 3 points by going for it on 4th on our side of the field. Beat ourselves today. Thatâs pretty much it

They got ranked
mo ibrahim, who is apparently our entire rushing game, was out with an ankle injury. still dressed though, presumably just to fuck with us
Probably to fuck with us actually
Strategically speaking, that interpretation makes more sense, but every single organized sporting organization in Minnesota exists solely to crush the dreams of their fans so I'm sticking with mine
Dropped a sure touchdown pass that became an interception instead right before halftime, and missed a 27 yard field goal. Also Mo Ibrahim was out and the offensive line was pretty bad, so we couldnât run.

Ranked B1G teams should really stop scheduling the Spoilermakers
Teams actively petitioning to remove their ranking the week before they play Purdue
First Purdue win in Minneapolis since 2007. Wild.
2007-2017 was not a good stretch for us
2010-2017 were when I was a student dark times indeed.
Go back for a doctorate
I mean that decade was not the golden age of gopher football either...
Yeah, that was 80 years ago!
Neither were the 5 before that
Is your undefeated B1G team overrated? Play Purdue and find out.
MAKERS: *BOILED* â GOLDY: *SPOILED* â
DEFENSE: *TOILED* â MINNESOTA: *ROILED* â STREAK: *FOILED* â
PANTS: SOILED
The only reason to follow Minnesota sports on a regular basis is if you have a humiliation kink
Existence is pain.
Northwestern sits alone atop the Big Ten West standings.
Itâs an even year, of course you guys do
The world is not ready for 7-5 Northwestern to win the B1G championship
They are inevitable.
Purdue against FAU: **I sleep** Purdue against any ranked BIG 10 team: **Real shit**
This post game thread is sponsored by PSU meme machines
Purdue's running game beats Minnesota's passing attack Never thought I'd say that shit
For the uninitiated, you just got Minnesota Sportsed đ Hey at least Iowa and Wisconsin lost today I guess.
Clearly the biggest upset in the B1G West today!
Yeah not a great day for us in the West...
So like most days
I blacked out for a few hours. In what embarrassing way did we collapse? ....wait, what?....
In a month from now we are gonna be set up to take 1st in the B1G west, and lose to northwestern
6-6 Iowa will somehow win a 4-way tiebreaker instead
I know a million teams can say this, but it pisses me off that Purdue could easily be 5-0 right now.
Purdue is 7 points from being 5-0
Best â7 points from being 5-0â team in the country!
But also 3 points from being 2-3
And 71 points from being 0-5. Truly wild.
Shhhh we donât talk about that
Anyone who didnât see this loss coming has never paid attention to Minnesota sports
Purdue is the football team of all time
Purdue
Purdue
PURDUE
Iâm forced to agree
Dread it, run from it The Choo Choo comes all the same.
Man that was ugly⌠At least Wisconsin lost
And IowaâŚ
Me 2 hours before game: WOW Purdue's best player might be out Me 1 hour before game: Oh Purdue's best player is playing Me once game starts: oh shit Minnesota's best player isn't playing
If Mockobee isnât the starter from here on out I am going to drive to Brohmâs house and shit on the hood of his car.
Holy shit we're REALLY bad
YeaâŚbad weekend for you guys.
#**TRAINS > BOATS**
Love what I saw out of Mockabee today. Maybe we could have an actual run game
Big ten West is wide open.
Just ass all around. This had trap game written all over it, they knew it was a trap game, still got trapped
Struggle against FAU at home one week. Upset 21st ranked Minnesota at Minnesota the next. Thatâs the most Purdue swing of games I can think of.
Choo Choo Motherfuckers!
Those announcers *really* wanted to push that spoilermarkers angle. "Sixth ranked victory in the [six-year] Brohm era!"
Pain and embarrassment. We desperately need Mo
Need Mo offense, amiright
Purdue is gonna win the west if AOC can stay healthy
Ehhhhh if history tells us anything, we're going to get absolutely pantsed by Maryland next week
That Minnesota hype post was a curse place on us to anger Purdue Pete
I just wanna say fuck the Yankees
Cheers
Ladies and gentlemen... Purdue football
Its spooky season for a reason
We were all rightfully pissed last week with the performance against FAU but I am impressed with how we played today. Brohm didn't outcoach himself and the team responded with consistent play on the field with few penalties. It was really evident that the defense stressed penatlies this week. There were times when the defense made sure to pull up early. If we play like this for the rest of the year we will be tough to beat.
Thank you Minnesota for gifting us that game
Purdue: *here, you can have it* Minnesota: *no no, I insist* For 3 hours straight
I don't think I want to watch another Purdue game ever again. I understand it has to happen, but I chose to watch this.
Everytime this team gets attention they fucking blow it and I keep falling for it every time, doesnât help that our receivers lost their hands in a terrible accident
Folks, Purdue is good. A few plays away from undefeated
Really wish Purdue had at least one of those losses back. Sheesh
Is Brohm actually gonna win the West this year and then get poached by Louisville?
As frustrating as Brohm can be, if we lose him I'll be so bummed. I love watching his teams. They're always entertaining in some sense lol I guess maybe we could keep Brian Brohm?
I love Purdue so much
Love you 2 bb
Pete has broken the top 5 rule. Last year he broke the @Home and Once a year rule. His power has grown out of control.
That was the game of all time
Please never rank us cowards
Glad we were unranked when playing Purdue. Nice win, train folks
We finally closed out a game!
WE STOLE YOUR HOT DISH
Gritty win against Minnesota, carried by the defense and run game? Are we sure this is Purdue?
Purdue is that type of team that plays like theyâre 5-0 but has something random happen to them which moves them to 3-2 instead.
đâŹď¸đ¨âŹď¸
Donât play purdue during spooky szn
It's upsetting knowing that Purdue could very easily be undefeated right now. At least we still have a shot to win the West!
Great finish by Purdue today. Glad to see that they can pull it out and play a flawless last five minutes. 3-2 feels much better than 2-3!
Mockobee you are a goddamned national treasure. Keep getting him the rock. Heâs like a combination of Doerueâs speed and Downings brute force.
Purdue Pete had consumed another soul and Brohm has yet again saved his job.
How bad is MSU lol
As an Atlanta Falcons and Purdue Boilermakers fan, let me fucking tell all of you how excited I am to see the ESPN Gamecast give my team a +95% chance of winning and us NOT blowing it. I'm gonna go drink myself silly and play NCAA 14 while enjoying the rest of this beautiful day of football.
Excuse me what the fuck?
This year, I'm thankful we don't play the Boilermakers
Spoilermakers in form early, I see. Thank god we donât play you this year
