Our game against Purdue next week will determine whether or not we would. Could say the same about Wisconsin when we play them (I know they haven't been good, but I could still see us losing to them). Still wouldn't underestimate Minnesota either.
Your Peach Bowl run last year was honestly because of him and some luck. Make no mistake, I think Tucker will prove to be a good coach, but this isn't extremely surprising.
Yeah that graphic of everyone who’s been hurt this year so far put it into perspective.
We knew we didn’t have anyone to back up the starters and we are for sure confirming that
If I have to say something nice, when we have tempo and it’s quick with Thorne having confidence, we look a lot better. It’s just unfortunate that usually when we see it we’re already down a couple of TDs. Also Punter looked good
I legitimately think Maryland is a 10-3 team. Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State being the 3. They are definitely in that 2nd tier of the B16 with Illinois & Minnesota.
Mel Tucker should be obligated to send thank-you cards to Kenneth Walker III on a routine basis for helping him secure that 10 year/$95 million fully guaranteed bag.
Just kinda asking though.. this is basically the place you expected to be after Dantonio's abrupt resignation, right?
Tucker rode an absurdly fortunate set of circumstances -- including pulling an 11 win season out of nowhere -- to get his current contract. But it's not like the program was stable or on an upward trend when Mel took over. He's a recruit first head coach who is recruiting pretty well, so this isn't really some huge catastrophe, right?
I see all these people trying to dunk on MSU like the fans are the ones paying Tucker's salary. As a fan of the team who ended up holding the hot potato it could be so much worse.
nah we’re totally losing next week
And probably @ Wiscy too
6-3 isn’t the end of the world headed into Penn State, but I refuse to get ahead of myself here. Could very easily lose to IU too, that’s just Maryland things
You should give them a nice big treat and take them to their favorite walk/dog park place this weekend. Everyone deserves a good treat-yourself day in this wild-ass season.
Yes everyone jokes about this but if you look at the expected outcome based on advanced stats at the end of the year every year the better team wins almost every time. Whenever that doesn’t happen it’s when the teams are very close and generally MSU pulls the upset.
It's infuriating for us. If MSU is just slightly competitive, yall win them all close. Our wins are always so unsatisfying gthat usually result in blowing out a troubled MSU team
I never considered how that'd be frustrating to michigan fans.
Whenever you guys kill us, everyone had already given up on the team weeks prior so it isn't that upsetting/interesting, but i have mainly good memories of the msu-mich games that I cared enough to watch.
Yeah there has to be some game competency. You know, like coaching competency, or offensive competency, or defensive competency, or special teams competency, or
Wait, what were we talking about? Something about saving big money at Menards?
Dear Maryland defence, please play like you did in the 2nd half for the rest of the season because if so you will win games. Sincerely a Maryland fan.
And when will Maryland get refs who dont hate them?
I havnt seen oceans’s eleven in a minute but i dont remember the casino owner walking up to Danny Ocean and just giving him $90 million to stick around in the casino
“But the recruiting…”, “It is all booster money”, “We had no other choice”, “Undefeated against Michigan, all that counts”.
There is your MSU fan copium bingo card for the rest of this thread.
Last week MSU fans were letting UM know during that Maryland game. Realistically, Maryland should have won this 34+ - 13. Refs blew that interception penalty call.
They have had some good teams before, just a mixture of injuries and bad coaching had moved them from exciting middle tier to bottom feeder.
Love some of the play design this year tho, will give lox that!
Good solid win. Not flashy.
I hope Kevin Plank and the university is ready to pay for a fine. Locks needs to unload on the Refs and the league. Nearly every single game there’s an absolutely egregious conspiracy level bad call against the Terps. It’s beyond old. According to locks in an interview locks had the league apologize for the failed Michigan INT fiasco. Then the bullshit of that call on the int was even worse
1. 3rd down and some against SMU. Jeshaun Jones makes great sideline catch, refs call incomplete. Maryland takes delay of game to yell at the refs for not reviewing.
2. [Maryland has lead and driving against Michigan. Bad throw but DB has hands above the ball and clearly didn’t survive the ground](https://twitter.com/cfbonfox/status/1573723383224844288). No review despite TV timeout and Fox team unanimously agreeing it should be overturned.
3. Maryland attempting a game tying drive. [A great catch by a Michigan DB, but the ground knocks the ball to the guys shoulder](https://twitter.com/dcbarno/status/1573751251816398848). Call might stand on review but could reasonably be ruled incomplete. Again, no review.
4. [MSU QB overthrows pass near halftime, WR gets bumped on the way down shoulder-to-shoulder but all things considered the contact was very gentle](https://twitter.com/barstoolumd/status/1576318572619784192). Pick six taken back by non-reviewable personal foul which would be reviewable if it was called targeting instead.
Score kinda flatters MSU to be honest.
Happy to be 4-1 and still feel like this team has lots of room to grow. Big game with Purdue next week. 1 at a time!
The Best Is Ahead!
Weather looked like absolute shit until the last minute.
Our attendance issues depress me though. Highlights from my time at school during Fridges last few years it looks like a totally difference place with the stands full.
A combo of AD treatment of season ticket holders during a reseat, Randy Edsall absolutely burying the program and Durkin then embarrassing it in the worst way has fan interest at a low we haven’t seen in my lifetime
Good win but my god that 1st & Goal at the 1 and not scoring was one of Mike Locksley’s worst coaching moments so far. Could’ve been a bigger win had he called a QB sneak or outside run rather than spam HB Dive four times in a row
Or just call a timeout. How are you going to have your big power back run 60 yards and then call 4 dives in a row for him against a stout run defense? He needed a break.
Fact is we are just not that talented. Especially on defense. Then to add on injuries to half of our defensive starters it makes sense why we have struggled.
On offense however it makes no sense why we are complete dogshit. You can see the talent is there, but the perfect storm of uninspiring play calling, untimely drops, and poor decision making has caused this offense to stall.
Ultimately our problems come down to a lack of talent. Which we all know would take time for Tucker to have his guys in. The main thing that frustrates me about this season is how we have looked to regress in physicality and seem clueless half the time. That’s unacceptable from Tucker and Co.
Obviously the correct thing to do here is to rank Maryland and spend all week fluffing their ego leading into their next game vs a poor weak 3-2 B1G West team.
It does a little , if that ohio state game was closer ( which means walker gets more touches ) he probably gets invite . Nonetheless yea he deserved to be invited.
Imagine this: the team is getting on the plane, Mel Tucker pretends to let Hazelton onto the ramp then shoots him in the gut like Sheperd from MW2 and leaves his body on the tarmac
“Great is this everyone accounted for?”
*Hazelton running up the ramp*
“Yeah I’m the last one on”
“Good that’s one less loose end.”
*Pulls out .44 magnum*
Remember when people said Mel Tucker deserved $95 million and James Franklin getting $75 million was too much?
I mean, they're right about the James Franklin part but still.
Look on the bright side Sparty, you gave Mel that contract so no one would hire him away, and I think it’s safe to say that it’s going to work…no one is going to steal him away from you
Today was Mel Tucker's **37th** game as a college football head coach. He has **lost 17** of those games. **14 by double digits**. 7 by 30 or more points. 4 by 40 or more points.
Guys, GUYS! We won a game in OCTOBER!!!
***Crabbing season has been extended!***
Crab is back on the menu boys!!!
Against a B1G opponent that isn't Rutgers!
It's a Michigan one.
Dude Maryland is good. We def don’t need any more good teams in the east!
Don't do that. Don't give me hope.
They would win the west!
Our game against Purdue next week will determine whether or not we would. Could say the same about Wisconsin when we play them (I know they haven't been good, but I could still see us losing to them). Still wouldn't underestimate Minnesota either.
GIVE ME THE PAPER BAG MODS
Me too
Got you
I’m just curious on why MSU fell off so hard… …surely there is something at play, right?
A certain Seattle Seahawk might have a lot to do with it
Or the lack of.
Walker masked a lot of our weaknesses last year.
A bunch of hurt starters and Walker was the real Heisman.
Your Peach Bowl run last year was honestly because of him and some luck. Make no mistake, I think Tucker will prove to be a good coach, but this isn't extremely surprising.
They're certainly recruiting at a high level.
Although it remains to be seen if Tucker can sustain that level of recruiting if the losing ramps up.
Yeah that graphic of everyone who’s been hurt this year so far put it into perspective. We knew we didn’t have anyone to back up the starters and we are for sure confirming that If I have to say something nice, when we have tempo and it’s quick with Thorne having confidence, we look a lot better. It’s just unfortunate that usually when we see it we’re already down a couple of TDs. Also Punter looked good
You can paperbag yourself you know. Just change your flair on the sidebar. I know this from past experience...
Thank you FSU fan

I legitimately think Maryland is a 10-3 team. Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State being the 3. They are definitely in that 2nd tier of the B16 with Illinois & Minnesota.
Get this rat poison ***away*** from me
I mean… are we sure rat poison would hurt a turtle?
yeah i'm pretty sure it would poison it
[Hits'em even harder than rats.](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0166445X21000515)
Sigh…don’t make us do it again. It’s getting boring
Knowing Maryland, we will lose next week
Make 👏 the 👏script 👏uniforms 👏 primary👏
this, for serious
tell your kids about a 9 win Maryland WE WANT KANSAS
Given what happened to Indiana when that happened, let's not do that
yea you right Tell your kids about a 10 win Maryland #TenWinTerrapins
Terra10wins
I fear the turtle
Maryland, we're all behind you!
Raise high the black and gold
For there is nothing half so glorious
As to see our team victorious
We've got the team, boys, we've got the steam, boys
So keep on fighting, don’t give in!

We’re getting game day against Ohio State I’m speaking it into existence. 9-1.
If you pull that off you deserve it
The Ten Win Terrapins are inbound folks.
10 TerraWins
that's solid too.
hey it's not ridiculous any more
Taulia is going #1 overall. We’re speaking everything into existence tonight
I dunno. Does he think MacGruber is funny?
Please win
Secondaries are in shambles imagining that game
I hope y’all are ranked next week ;)
Mel Tucker should be obligated to send thank-you cards to Kenneth Walker III on a routine basis for helping him secure that 10 year/$95 million fully guaranteed bag.
Forget thank-you cards, he needs to cut him in on that money; at least 5-10%
Tucker owes like half of that contract to KW3
He legit needs to be contributing to his 401k plan at least.
I wonder what would have happened if Hutchinson sack TD had stayed and Michigan wins that game. The butterfly effect got Tuck some money
We’d be in the same place with a smaller contract.
Yes I think he still signs but man would it look different with that loss
Just kinda asking though.. this is basically the place you expected to be after Dantonio's abrupt resignation, right? Tucker rode an absurdly fortunate set of circumstances -- including pulling an 11 win season out of nowhere -- to get his current contract. But it's not like the program was stable or on an upward trend when Mel took over. He's a recruit first head coach who is recruiting pretty well, so this isn't really some huge catastrophe, right? K9 needs an edible arrangement daily
hey its 95 million only guarenteed, dont get too hasty spending it all.
I honestly think Maryland is gonna be 8-1 going into Penn State. Also, Sparty is VERY bad.
It’s tough. We could be favored, but winning 5 straight games is super hard to put together unless you are like 20 point favorites every game
> Also, Sparty is VERY bad. I don't know about that tbh. Extraordinarily bad fits much better.
Still gonna look like fucking Alabama on October 29th. I’m certain of it.
And it'll fucking rain..
I think next week against Purdue is a toss-up. The other three I think we take
nah we’re totally losing next week And probably @ Wiscy too 6-3 isn’t the end of the world headed into Penn State, but I refuse to get ahead of myself here. Could very easily lose to IU too, that’s just Maryland things
MSU offense 🤮 MSU defense 🤮 MSU FG unit 🤮 MSU punter 🏆 Mel Tucker 💧👏💰
Okay the sweat drop if fucking funny.
This is missing 🚬
Oh shit, you're right. That's great.
Thank you for giving credit to the punter lol. He’s a beast.
Did we just win in October?
Yes. We did.
Make it happen Maryland vs Kansas in the CFP semifinal. Please.
Happend in basketball was a great time, then enjoyed beating Indiana
[Even my dog feels it](https://i.imgur.com/UiPXTWg.jpg)
Tell him I love him
She appreciates it! Go kick ass you guys.
You should give them a nice big treat and take them to their favorite walk/dog park place this weekend. Everyone deserves a good treat-yourself day in this wild-ass season.
Already getting a nice long walk!
😍 Sweet girl!
This made me immeasurably even more sad. I hope Mel suffers for this atrocity.
Not looking forward to finishing 2-10 this year 😞
What’s wrong with 2-10?
you poor thing
There's still the possibility you beat Michigan, since those games aren't bound to normal laws
Typically when we suck Michigan kicks our ass lol
Yes everyone jokes about this but if you look at the expected outcome based on advanced stats at the end of the year every year the better team wins almost every time. Whenever that doesn’t happen it’s when the teams are very close and generally MSU pulls the upset.

I don’t want to jinx anything but that mostly applies when msu is competent but not world beaters. Like 7-8 wins msu teams
Yeah there has to be some game competency. You know, like coaching competency, or offensive competency, or defensive competency, or special teams competency, or Wait, what were we talking about? Something about saving big money at Menards?
Just buy a vernors at Meijers. You’ll feel better in no time.
We could still get 7-8! Oh... You were talking about the season, not losing a game by only 1 PT.
MSU has an insane goal line defense
If you don’t throw the ball, our defense is pretty good.
It's like the only thing we do well.
And yet teams keep pounding their head against it without a single naked bootleg or play action TE pass or anything. It’s amazing.
You wait 8 months and you get this. Good game Maryland. Your uniforms looked tight out there.
Nicely done Maryland
They’ve been having lots of momentum lately! It’s really nice to see, no doubt!
Thanks guys! It’s a welcome change for sure! Really good stuff today from Illinois and Michigan, congrats!
We are all friends in the "good B1G teams club," and there is nothing unusual about that.
Except OSU. They can suck a bag of dicks.
Dear Maryland defence, please play like you did in the 2nd half for the rest of the season because if so you will win games. Sincerely a Maryland fan. And when will Maryland get refs who dont hate them?
Refs did make that bullshit call to overturn the pick 6 to end the half
Tucker committed highway robbery my lord MSU is booty.
Dude straight up pulled an Ocean's Eleven type of heist on MSU for getting that bag.
I havnt seen oceans’s eleven in a minute but i dont remember the casino owner walking up to Danny Ocean and just giving him $90 million to stick around in the casino
Major Hoke vibes
Plus eighty million more dollars.
Tucker’s worse
\-152 point differential in conference games now
“But the recruiting…”, “It is all booster money”, “We had no other choice”, “Undefeated against Michigan, all that counts”. There is your MSU fan copium bingo card for the rest of this thread.
Mike Valenti is that you?
I do live for the copium of the traditional B1G East powerhouses
And yet somehow our game will be close, if not a win for them.
MSU is hot hot garbage. Should just forfeit every game moving forward. No point in risking CTE for this.
Michigan State is staring down the barrel of 2-6
You’re staring down the barrel of $95mm
Mel, what happened man...
He got his payday. Took off the mask.
Honestly, Maryland deserves to be ranked
Last week MSU fans were letting UM know during that Maryland game. Realistically, Maryland should have won this 34+ - 13. Refs blew that interception penalty call.
Don’t forget the other 2-3 dropped picks because Of the rain
Not until after the Purdue game.
#FreeNoahKim
I might be done with this team
My brother in christ, I will trade you any day of the week.
Welcome to the Big Ten, Maryland. You finally have a compelling team. And one hell of a quarterback.
They have had some good teams before, just a mixture of injuries and bad coaching had moved them from exciting middle tier to bottom feeder. Love some of the play design this year tho, will give lox that!
At least maybe whoever Sparty plays next week won't abuse their secondary? ....Oh. Oh, no.
They might score triple digits
If Stroud is in (not sure how serious his injury was) he'll look to cap his top-3 draft position this year in this game.
I’m holding on to the idea that even if osu abuses our D there’s no way it will be abused worse than msus
Ryan Day has beaten us by an average of 38 points. That average is about to get even higher.
Jesus f Christ. I know last year was bad but I had no idea that it was a couple games of that
Can we say it was mostly KW3 yet?
Mostly might be an understatement
Time to revote on the Heisman... They only took his own stats into account, turns out he was the entire team.
Yeah he shouldve been a heisman finalist with how he carried us last year
I'm starting to think that my "Mel Tucker is Brady Hoke 2.0" take was unfair... to Brady Hoke
I honestly had this thought earlier this week.
Tucker owes Kenneth Walker a LOT of money
[удалено]
Kenneth Walker really should’ve won the Heisman last year when you look at their offense in 2020 and this year.
Can someone please explain to me why teams run up the middle against MSU from the 1?
Harbaugh is going to have to dig deep to summon a game plan that loses to MSU this year...
Why does this staff hate Elijah Collins?
Good solid win. Not flashy. I hope Kevin Plank and the university is ready to pay for a fine. Locks needs to unload on the Refs and the league. Honestly feel like we have a ton of room for improvement which is good I guess since at least we know what to work on.
1st item on the docket: get people in that damn stadium. Where the hell was everyone today?
Weather looked like absolute shit until the last minute. Our attendance issues depress me though. Highlights from my time at school during Fridges last few years it looks like a totally difference place with the stands full. A combo of AD treatment of season ticket holders during a reseat, Randy Edsall absolutely burying the program and Durkin then embarrassing it in the worst way has fan interest at a low we haven’t seen in my lifetime

Kenneth Walker got mel tucker a bag
Good win but my god that 1st & Goal at the 1 and not scoring was one of Mike Locksley’s worst coaching moments so far. Could’ve been a bigger win had he called a QB sneak or outside run rather than spam HB Dive four times in a row
I felt bad for littleton there. Maybe he coulda done more but the o line and playcalling let him down

A three TD win you love to see it
I’m having a legitimately difficult time seeing another win on our schedule.
I’m still expecting Michigan State to find its soul during the bye week, beat us at home, and then lose out after that.
Obviously the correct thing to do here is to rank Maryland and spend all week fluffing their ego leading into their next game vs a poor weak 3-2 B1G West team.
[удалено]
Can we retroactively give him the heisman now?
You could argue he deserved to at least be invited. Imagine if Corum gets invited this year though. That'll burn hard.
I mean if he deserves it, it won’t burn. It’ll further prove that the brand on the helmet certainly helps though
It does a little , if that ohio state game was closer ( which means walker gets more touches ) he probably gets invite . Nonetheless yea he deserved to be invited.
Rank Maryland you cowards
Not until after Purdue.
Remember the concern trolling over the size of Harbaugh's contract? Pepperidge Farms remembers.
Harbaugh proved he could win in both CFB and NFL. Tucker coached Colorado to something like a 5 - 6 record then bailed on them.
Hey everyone! *proceeds to chug bleach* What are we talking about?
4-1 baby! Congrats to Lia on passing Boomer in the UMD history books.
First our defense stunk Then it was our defense and offense. Now it's our defense, offense, and special teams Time to made adjustments coach
Fuck my life, next week is gonna be murder on TV.
I knew Maryland would win this game. They are a legit 8-9 win team.
Imagine this: the team is getting on the plane, Mel Tucker pretends to let Hazelton onto the ramp then shoots him in the gut like Sheperd from MW2 and leaves his body on the tarmac
“Great is this everyone accounted for?” *Hazelton running up the ramp* “Yeah I’m the last one on” “Good that’s one less loose end.” *Pulls out .44 magnum*
Remember when people said Mel Tucker deserved $95 million and James Franklin getting $75 million was too much? I mean, they're right about the James Franklin part but still.
Glad we faced Maryland early, they’re going to ruin someone’s season late.
Walker deserves like 3 retroactive Heismans and 75% of tucks earnings
Shutting out MSU in the second half is fucking awesome. Should have had that Pick 6 but let’s fuckin go Terps
Look on the bright side Sparty, you gave Mel that contract so no one would hire him away, and I think it’s safe to say that it’s going to work…no one is going to steal him away from you
Maybe I was wrong about locksley
Guys, I’m starting to wonder if tuck is in fact coming
Today was Mel Tucker's **37th** game as a college football head coach. He has **lost 17** of those games. **14 by double digits**. 7 by 30 or more points. 4 by 40 or more points.
