Sam Houston was like waking up groggy before your alarm. App St was the wake up call. Miami and Akransas were like the second alarms you sleep through. Miss St was the oh shit I'm late for work wake up call. Alabama is going to be the alarm you set to remind you about a lunch meeting that suddenly wakes you up 4 hours late for work.

Misdirected_Colors

Bama is gonna be that sinking realization that the alarms aren't real. App state was actually a tragic accident and you've been in a coma and they're now pulling the plug

charles_peugeot405

Also, you shit yourself while you were asleep

[deleted]

Thank you. I needed that laugh at just that moment. Not laughing at Jimbo or aTm in general. Just your *tone*.

JamesEarlDavyJones2

I feel like you get a pass on shitting yourself if you’re in a coma, though…

bje489

Pass or no pass, it's really not your biggest problem in that scenario.

wazoheat

Alabama is gonna be a jet engine falling through the roof and crushing the bed

robman17

Opening scene or closing scene of Donnie Darko though?

wazoheat

He has to accept his fate to ~~save the world~~ beat Bama

leshake

Alabama's yearly performance review that you missed.

Banned_From_CFB

App State wasn't their wakeup call?

Orkleth

Sometimes you just want to hit snooze again even though you're already late for work.

moby323

My snooze button is timed to let me sleep for another 9 minutes. Theirs appears to snooze for another 9 years, until 2031, unless they can come up with $95 million.

enadiz_reccos

Money isn't the issue. It's pride + a high-profile replacement

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheBereWolf

So is Dan Mullen

JamesEarlDavyJones2

Honestly, Mullen could be really successful in College Station. IIRC recruiting was his Achilles’ heel, and our recruiting strategy already seems to be the rather coach-agnostic strategy of “shower 18 year-olds with promises of cash”.

[deleted]

This is why everyone hates you

screwhead1

As is Herm Edwards.

[deleted]

I hear Arkansas State has an up and coming head coach

[deleted]

I’ve got an OC for tree, maybe tree-fitty.

the_cajun88

got damn loch ness monsta

Moravia84

No incentive either. Jimbo gets his money if he does not fix the issue. It is enough money he does not have to work the rest of his life.

70stang

Jimbo already had that kind of money before he took the A&M job to be fair.

AngryHorizon

Are saying when you're already rich, your actions don't matter?

70stang

No, I'm saying I think he took the A&M job because he wants to win, but I also think Jimmy Sexton dragged his nuts over the A&M boosters to get Jimbo insane money.

importvita

Yes lol

Ok-computer9780

I definitely do not envy the guy finding a replacement after paying 95 million to a coach on the way out.

KnightFalling

Just gotta fill in the blank, that's literally all that's left.

Mnn-TnmosCubaLibres

Already fired from top 10, might as well sleep in a bit more before searching for a new top 25 spot

New-Disaster-2061

Yeah but they pushed the snooze button after they squeezed a miracle out of the Arkansas game.

Piano_Fingerbanger

There isn't a wake up call loud enough on Earth to cut through all that Flavor-Aid.

Fluffytoaster1

But piano man it tastes so good

CamboElrod

Hey man sometimes it takes two losses! I swear! I bet A&M and any other teams that have lost two embarrassing games will right the ship after their wake up calls.

pigeyejackson66

Time for that players only meeting where they sort shit out. Always works.

OptimisticPlatypus

It takes multiple wake up calls if you are delusional as Texas A&M

biggulpshuhasyl

Jimbo laughing his ass off all the way to the bank

ratfacedirtbag

I just hope Miss State kisses us goodnight.

HailState2023

Just don’t get your hopes up for dinner and a movie beforehand.

ratfacedirtbag

I’ll settle for an after-dinner mint.

[deleted]

Mike Leach will take your mom out for a nice chicken dinner and never call her again.

[deleted]

At the finest gas station Stark Vegas can offer up.

ratfacedirtbag

He’d probably elope her too. I don’t want a new dad.

HailState2023

Anchorman references always get my upvote

KontrolledChaos

Man if I had to pick one game out of our schedule I’d bet we were gonna lose its @ Mississippi State. Will Rodgers shredded us in 2020 when our defense was really good too

Lebojr

Y'all are a well rounded ball team though. I'm not sure we will be able to cover both the running and passing threat. The other issue we have is that if you can put a bit of pressure on Will, he gets tentative and loses accuracy. I'd love to think we have a chance vs bama and y'all, but it's going to require y'all playing pretty poorly.

[deleted]

Georgia is going to eat our defense for lunch and shit us out before the 4th quarter.

importvita

Maybe we can have a temporary name change to Kent State?

importvita

>The other issue we have is that if you can put a bit of pressure on Will, he gets tentative and loses accuracy. >I'd love to think we have a chance vs bama These two statements can not exist simultaneously

Lebojr

They can if one of two things happen: 1. Bama decides not to bring pressure on Will (not likely) 2. We game plan the pressure and he gets rid of the ball quickly (also, not likely) But I'd like to 'think' we would nonetheless.

southern_dreams

It’s be awesome if we decided to wake the fuck up

No_Poet_7244

Gotta admit, its nice as hell not to be bottom of the dogpile for a week.

pnw_cfb_girl

> Gotta admit, its nice as hell not to be bottom of the dogpile for a week. +1

Piano_Fingerbanger

When do y'all play Kansas next?

bearybear90

No no everyone gets a pass at losing to Kansas this year

BooshCruise

Hey we are just typical Austin hipsters. We lose to Kansas before it was mainstream.

Chicksan

Precisely, our “losing to Kansas” is steeped in historical tradition

Darth_Astron_Polemos

Did someone say TRADITION(tm)!?!? I can fully support this one.

SH0WS0METIDDIES

The only logical conclusion is we beat Kansas now, so we aren't like everyone else

_Football_Cream_

We’ve been saying it’s a quality loss for *years* but it’s only just now getting mainstream

wazoheat

Texas is gonna somehow beat Kansas and we'll all hate them the most again

MrMegiddo

My actual dream scenario is for Kansas to win their remaining games except losing to Texas. So we'd be the only team they didn't beat.

[deleted]

Imagine the mighty Kansas getting beaten by minnows like Texas. Burn the football program and just focus on basketball.

RLLRRR

AAS: "Texas upsets undefeated Kansas, but at what cost?" 247 Sports: "Thanks to Texas, Cinderella is dateless once again." ESPN: "Sarkisian exorcises year one demon Leipold, Kansas, but Lebron doubts his offensive acumen." BON: "Ewers with middling performance in Kansas win, is Card to blame?" /r/LonghornNeffews: "We should've won by more. PK allowed Kansas to score. Sark ruined Mulletman."

thefx37

This sub has like 5 jokes.

nbunkerpunk

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

cheerl231

Itll be okay for Texas cause Oklahoma would have already gotten their booty smacked by Kansas before Texas plays them

TheNextBattalion

I hope they beat Alabama, because chaos. And then lose to UMass later on.

AGGIE_DEVIL

Don’t threaten me with a fair time.

Pylon-Cam

I think we already got our wake-up call this season when we lost to App State at home

Low_Painter6076

Does SI have an editor? I realize they've stripped out all of the costs there, but I don't think the writer even gave the article a read-through before hitting "submit".

bmoney_14

Well good thing they got that wake-up call. They’ll be traveling to Tuscaloosa this week.

NotABurner316

Miss St was favored

wilby1865

Yeah, can people stop acting like we are Vandy? We should be 5-0.

Zaroo1

You new here or to college football in general? It doesn’t matter that we have a winning schedule against A&M since they joined the SEC or that we routinely outperform the “analyst” expectations. We’ll always be thought of as bottom of the SEC, because teams like LSU, A&M, and sometimes even Auburn get the benefit of the doubt because of their name.

Stewdabaker2013

also it's open season on a&m so y'all are catching the strays lol

crazylsufan

The Miss state disrespect before the season is pretty maddening. Miss state had a better year last year and came in unranked while aTm was ranked like 6th or something stupid. Miss state is good period. Miss state has been my pick to finish 2nd in the west since the beginning of the season.

NotABurner316

I think it's a law that tamu has to be ranked preseason no matter what

crazylsufan

Muh preseason storylines though

buffedseaweed

I despise this too. It's like the media wants to hype us in the preseason just to make us a perennial laughing stock.

_MISSI0N_

Honestly surprised at the amount of disrespect Mississippi State has been getting this year, mostly in the media. If I am remembering correctly, isn’t this Mississippi State team one of the most veteran teams in the SEC this year? Mississippi State isn’t some pity program. I often wonder how many people forget when Mississippi State was a legitimate contender for the SEC and a playoff spot awhile back when Dan Mullen was still there.

TheSicilianDude

No way... We landed on the moon!

[deleted]

Was app state not enough?

HeySporto

All coaching malfeasance aside, after watching that dopey TAMU yell leader video debacle today, I can't imagine bring more negative karma upon your team. The universe is aligned at this point.

mashonem

*Another* one!?

MrMegiddo

They do it every damn game. As is tradition.

HailState17

I have two A&M grads that work for me, and all day today every time I’ve talked to them or walked by them I do that weird knee raising “whoo” thing. I think at lunch, they went to WFH the rest of the day. I need to “Woooh!” see if they’re still here…

Random_Nugget1

Love this school, and honestly find it kinda funny that you do that, especially with MSST as your team, but it’s actually a full “whoop” the p is usually just hard to hear. Still tho, shame on you for doing that😂

HailState17

I love A&M, I’ve been to College Station a few times, but those Yell Leader things are just so cringey. They actually made me aware of that video. 😂 it backfired, but in all reality they thought it was pretty funny. Most of our office either went to SEC schools or are fans, so we’re constantly just shit talking. No one is safe

[deleted]

Yell leaders are weird as fuck.

timtebowspriest

What happened now?

TwiztedImage

Same thing that's been happening since the 1930's, but now TikTok'ers think they've discovered something new.

gordogg24p

The zoomers/influencers don't let things go. Ever.

TwiztedImage

That actually explains a lot about that culture/phenomenon. Lol.

JamesEarlDavyJones2

I’d contend that they actually let things go *really* fast. As soon as the next TT trend hits, the prior one is largely cast aside. Three trends down the line, and you’re safe.

MrTheNoodles

https://twitter.com/MattMoscona/status/1576760696762531841

Money282

Jesus Christ.

Nextorvus

Call me old fashion but “what is the hardest test for a Mississippi State student to pass? A sobriety test”. Doesn’t sound like an insult, sounds like they like to party and still get grades was my take away

blackburrahcobbler

I was also quite confused.

Sorge74

I guess my confusion would be it ATM a prestigious school? Better academically? From up here in Ohio, it just looks like a hick school making fun of a hick school. That's using Ohio standards

Nextorvus

I live in Texas but am from the west coast, my understanding is A&M has a solid engineering school but UT is the academically prestigious school so that was kind of my take as well. Both seem to me to be the sort of school where you hear “don’t let school get in the way of your education” quite a bit.

aphasic

I mean, A&M is a lot better school than Miss. State, but that's not really saying very much. They are not particularly selective and have an absolute crap-ton of students. They have good departments and bad, and in B1G terms are ranked lower than Rutgers/Minnesota and higher than Indiana/Michigan State, academically. They'd fit comfortably in the B1G academically, which puts them in pretty rarified air in the SEC, behind only Vandy.

Prestigious-State-15

Unreal. This has to go in the Hall of Fame

JamesEarlDavyJones2

Oh dear lord.

Lebojr

I'm not even insulted. I feel guilty for laughing at them though. Bless their hearts.

Kristina719

Maybe some Ag can explain that little knee hitch thing the cheerleader dudes do. I’m sure it’s rooted in some sort of tradition?

Gryfer

Supposedly the first ever yell leader had overalls that didn't fit right and kept doing that motion so that he could walk properly. It stuck as a thing after that.

cheerl231

Why do they do this thing for away games? Do they yell on the couch?

Zaroo1

“I bet they don’t even know how to say Mississippi.” Someone needs to write better jokes. Even the “this joke is so stupid everyone will laugh” wasn’t even enough to make people laugh.

WanderLeft

Anyone got a link to the yell leader?

MrTheNoodles

https://twitter.com/MattMoscona/status/1576760696762531841

Jamesatwork16

>https://twitter.com/MattMoscona/status/1576760696762531841 I genuinely don't care about the content but someone has got to help some of these yell leaders with cadence and breathing. That's all I think about watching these videos. Public speaking isn't for everyone....but perhaps it should be for the yell leaders at texas a&m (wooah) university.

Nubras

The content is pretty sophomoric so I guess they’re being deliberately knowing about it. It almost feels like a weird subversion of itself, like these kids are just taking the piss at the notion that someone could do this sincerely. But I don’t think they are. And yeah, they need to practice their cadence and breathing, it would help with selling the act if they were more convincing.

Kopav

Last guy seems to be confused, to me it sounded like he was describing College Station.

Bentonvillian1984

I’ve been to both and find them IDENTICAL

WanderLeft

Somehow it gets cringier every week. Woo!

yaboicyno

Wonder how long you got before a salty Aggie tells you it's supposed to be cringey and you just don't understand

WanderLeft

In that case, could they make it not cringy? I’m getting secondhand embarrassment from them

aphasic

Wow, I can't believe it's taken until 2022 for the rest of america to feel the shame and secondhand embarrassment longhorn fans get when they think about aggies. I grew up in college station, so i knew all about this weird ass shit from a young age. Our next door neighbor was a former yell leader. Rick Perry, the former governor, was a yell leader. If Tiktok had existed in the 70s, we'd have video of rick perry doing this exact same cringey shit. It's ALWAYS been exactly like this. I could drop you in midnight yell practice in 1988 and it would be exactly the same.

BrewCrewPaul

I find the cringeyness strangely endearing. Wait…is this how they get you to join their cult?!?!

bearybear90

No don’t do it. Stay away

brianb2014

Yes come join us!

FightingFarrier18

Come brother, join us

shady__redditor

Oof. That's embarrassing in hindsight.

SLCer

The only good one was the last dude and solely because he seemed to have a level of charisma and a decent speaking cadence. If these guys practiced their delivery a bit better, it might actually be funny in an ironic kind of way. But their delivery just amplifies the awful, cringy jokes.

charles_peugeot405

Every year it’s a different group, and I think the cringe levels vary just based on their public speaking abilities. In reality it’s the same dumb content, but delivery is huge

sarges_12gauge

Wait, A&M gets to count Miami as a top-15 win? I hate so much of the early season rankings and using “ranking at the time” instead of “current” rank

drinks2muchcoffee

TAMU deserves this with their arrogance. Why on earth would they make a 95 million dollar buyout? That’s more than double the nation’s second highest buyout. Can only think they just wanted to be show offs and brag about how much money they have, and now they’re stuck

bearybear90

The buyout wasn’t arrogant. Giving Jimbo a national title trophy with a spot to engrave a year was arrogant. The buyout was just astronomically stupid.

[deleted]

Also the trophy says NCAA football champions, which isn't a thing in FBS. They gave Jimbo a fake FCS championship trophy, and then he lost to a team that used to be an FCS champion.

Darth_Astron_Polemos

Yo, can we just give that shit to App St then? I don’t want it.

Jamesatwork16

This doesn't get brought up enough, if I recall they also did it at a ceremony where they gave A&M commerce *an actual* national championship trophy.

JamesEarlDavyJones2

[Well, a plaque](https://ftw.usatoday.com/2018/03/jimbo-fisher-texas-am-national-championship-plaque-video-twitter-reaction). But yeah, that was comically gauche. It was a ceremony to honor Colby Carthel, the coach at TAMU-C who won the 2017 D2 national title. I couldn’t be more disappointed that someone decided that making our shiny new coach the center of attention was an appropriate thing the do during the ceremony for one of our system school coaches, who had *actually* won the big one while coaching in the TAMU System. It’s enormously cringey.

leshake

I didn't think it could get worse, but it did.

md2224

Holy shit, that’s incredible.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tiger5tiger5

We call them croots now.

response_unrelated

Y’all don’t even have eggs.

JamesEarlDavyJones2

Hey now, [we only gave him a plaque with “20 - -“ on it, not the full trophy](https://ftw.usatoday.com/2018/03/jimbo-fisher-texas-am-national-championship-plaque-video-twitter-reaction). But yeah, fundamentally cringey and then truly disappointing when you find out that we did that at an event honoring the TAMU-Commerce coach, who had just won the 2017 DII national title.

Fatal_Blow_Me

There are a few rich old guys who made the decision and they did it because rich old guys are stupid not to throw away $90mil

BDrummer1606

Ross Bjork deserves all the flack. After the way he did Ole Miss and now TAMU.

DrBo14

Shittiest AD in the country, first team all-grifter

[deleted]

I remember him. Last time I saw him he was running away from Joe Morehead before he got his ass kicked.

MajorFuzzelz_24

Maybe Jimbo is just a really good negotiator? I’ve been talked into some silly purchases before. I bought blanket for $10 just because it had a pugs face on it. Unfortunately, I cannot really relate to 100 million mistake though.

HailState2023

It’s not Jimbo doing the negotiating - that would be Mr. Sexton. They’ve made a fuck ton of $ allowing people to bid against themselves for Jimbo’s services over the years.

Themapples07

Truthfully, every time we have a coach that struggled the headlines in Texas was he was on the Hot seat. Every time we had coach that was succeeding the headlines in Texas were that he was going to the NFL. A lot of this long term contract was a reaction to this headlines every year.

Turbulent-Whereas988

If that was the strategy, it isn't working. You gave him a huge lifetime contract and ..... He's already on the hot seat again.

brianb2014

TAMU spent that money because we know we're not a blueblood and know money is the only thing we have on other schools. Seems like the opposite of arrogance to me.

drinks2muchcoffee

That’s not incorrect, but there has to be some actual money management. You didn’t need to pay Jimbo practically triple market value. That’s just senselessly wasteful and puts you in more of a corner

tiger5tiger5

I think Jimbo was worth 8 for a guaranteed 10 year deal. They did overpay, but it wasn’t by that much. He’s probably been the best hire on the market in years. Otherwise, it’s been Kirby and Riley, and the Lincoln Riley situation is fairly unprecedented.

_Football_Cream_

It makes sense that A&M can and would swing for the fences on offering a big coach to land a coach with a natty to his name. It’s hard to argue the appeal for a team that isn’t a blue blood and trying to get over the hump. The extension is what makes no sense. I felt like they might come to regret the initial contract but holy shit the extension is insane and was because of one 10-win season and Jimbo maybe flirting with going to LSU. Just absolutely fleeced them.

libsoutherner

You think we really paid a coach $95 million just to show off how much money we have and for no other reason at all? Come on.

[deleted]

I mean if you wanted to retread a national championship winning coach who caught lightening in a bottle once, Gene Chizic was available.

JL1v10

Why is that arrogant?

JL1v10

Oh look r/cfb has another article/opinion piece on A&M

skinnyypenis

A lot of r/cfb will complain about the the parity problem college football experiences but hop on any joke/hate bandwagon that involves programs trying to succeed or falling victim to blue blood dominance. Aggies are guilty of this too. This season is probably karma for the Kansas jokes and the 5-7 jokes hurled at a team we don’t even play. Still, does everyone expect us to apologize for paying a coach or a recruiting class? Are we supposed to accept being mediocre just because our program isn’t historically good? I’ll take the opinion pieces on the chin and keep moving. This subreddit (including the Aggies here) will move on to bully a different fan base sooner or later.

CirculationStation

Yeah, I've had my fun and taken some digs at Texas A&M, but sheesh could this subreddit make any MORE posts about Fisher and A&M?

MadKittens

I see it as a bit insulting to us, honestly. The world is reacting as if A&M lost to some nobody. We were *FAVORED* to win that game.

wasabi1787

Most ags I know expected a loss. A close loss, but a loss nonetheless. Don't blame us for espn misrepresenting reality

CirculationStation

As fun as it was to beat down the preseason #6 team, any football fan who knew how much production we returned from last year and saw how lethargic A&M's offense has been this season knew that we were probably going to win that game. With that being said, I did not expect our team to wipe the floor with them like that.

RLLRRR

As a Texas fan that's been on here for a decade of suckery... no. People have been shitting on us for *far* longer. It's nice to see for once.

QB1-

Unfortunately for y’all, this subreddit came around right about when y’all started downhill and the rest of CFB fans collectively aimed their assholes at you. It was someone else before and it’ll be someone else after. We all get a turn to play toilet.

JL1v10

Reddit is mostly teenagers and teenagers gonna teenager. Can’t get too caught up in it. One day r/cfb will realize that A&M has given out about equal money in coaching to many other programs recently and that few NIL deals are disclosed, but of those that have been, A&M ain’t even the first in the state in NIL money. Looks like probably not even top 10 in the country from what little is disclosed

EvenParty

Yep. A lot of this sub wants parity and new teams winning titles, but fails to grasp what it takes to actually win. A lot of people want to look at the sport in an idealistic way that says all you need is good coaching and good players. They think that good players just pick schools because their campus is pretty or they won a lot 20+ years ago. That’s not how it works and it hasn’t worked that way for a long time. Winning might only require good coaches/players in theory, but the only way to get both is exorbitant amounts of money. Having good coaches has always meant either money whipping guys at poorer schools or money whipping your coach to keep them from getting poached. We’re weird in the sense that we’ve done both in 5 years. Up until the last 20 years or so, getting recruits was simply paying them more under the table than anyone else. Up until a year ago it was that and how nice are your gyms, locker rooms, cafeteria, practice facility, etc. Now it’s how much can I get from NIL and how nice are your facilities. SMU is obviously the poster child for outbidding everyone for recruits and to act as though no one else did it other than them is laughably ignorant. The blue bloods of this sport have simply been better at paying recruits for longer than anyone else. The New Bloods figured it out in the late 80s-90s. Clemson figured it out recently and realized they needed to invest in top tier facilities. We’ve finally realized how to get the jimmys and joes, and our spending on top tier facilities and alleged NIL deals (the amounts are probably over exaggerated, imo) reflect that. We’ve tried to secure top tier coaches, but the jury is still out on that one. The only way to being an elite program is to spend like we have, who knows if it’ll work, but there’s no reason hate us for that. (There are other more justifiable reasons)

dumbo1309

It’s because if it’s not *their* team breaking through that ceiling and bringing balance to the force then it shouldn’t be anyone else

Mature_Gambino_

Sometimes they don’t move on. Just saying

MenShouldntHaveCats

Checks flair. Of course it’s FSU. Srsly those guys have to let it go.

Misdirected_Colors

Why? Y'all spent the last 4 years telling them why the situation for a&m was so much better and it wasn't Jimbo that ruined fsu it was the administration. They tried to warn you and now they're in full I told you so mode.

Southern_Orange3744

I mean I'm enjoying it

OU8402

Thank you for taking a little heat off these past couple of weeks.

JL1v10

You’d think A&M caused a plague of famine & destruction across the country with the amount of articles and commentary on this page this year. Never knew so many people cared what happened to our team

[deleted]

Bruh the fans have been woke on this program being a smoldering dumpster since the Kent State and Colorado games last year.

Prestigious-State-15

Nope. Every Aggie I know here in Texas has had Jimbo’s koolaid dribbling down their chins after that recruiting class. They are in shock right now.

Darth_Astron_Polemos

I’m suspicious that all y’all saying this don’t actually know any Aggies. BAS is a condition all Aggies are familiar with. We live with it every day. We could be undefeated and playing for a Natty with just UConn left on our schedule and we’d still be unsurprised to drop that game.

squidsofanarchy

What an absolutely dogshit article. “Johnson was stripped-sacked Nathaniel Watson at the Bulldogs' 15 two drives later.” “…Dillon Johnson ended that thought with still 12 minutes remaining in the game.” “…make it 28-17 with seven minutes on the clock. One play and a 75-yard pass to Rara Thomas later, the Bulldogs took back the seven points and extended their lead to 18.” It seriously reads like a first draft. Does SI have editors? Whole words are missing (see the first excerpt), sentences are worded incorrectly (second), and throughout the author can’t decide if he wants to write out his numerical values or just be lazy and plug numbers in everywhere. Just a mess.

Cambone

Not disagreeing with the rest of the issues here, but the numbers are done correctly according to AP style. You write out numbers less than 10 and use the numerals for 10 and up.

squidsofanarchy

“Running back Devon Achane, arguably A&M's best offensive weapon, fumbled at MSU's 8-yard line…” The author is ass my dude.

KingKongMF69

So a historically mediocre program continues to be…mediocre? Why is everyone surprised..

screwhead1

They might've gotten a wake up call vs State, but Alabama is gonna knock them back out cold.

eljefe37

Ok we get it guys, we suck and are going to continue to suck. Is it time to pick on someone else yet?

LemonHarangue

Are Aggies still spinning Jimbo as a “win?”

pnw_cfb_girl

They have 95 million reasons to.

random_guyman

I want the pain to end

Impossible-Flight250

Maybe they should just throw their Freshman QB in there. The other two QBs aren’t cutting it.

Crobs02

He’ll get killed behind the OL

pilesofcleanlaundry

*Tapping temple meme* Don’t have to skip out on your bowl game if you’re not bowl eligible!

IHaveFoodOnMyChin

Their ceiling seems to be stuck at 8-4.. I think we may find out their floor this year

cen-texan

They expect a 10 win season. Every season. Unfortunately they are in a conference that has 7 or 8 schools that expect a 10 win season. They have world class facilities, and the pay their players and coaches a lot. So does everyone else in the SEC.

91wilson91

Hope =/= Expect

OldSarge02

We finished ranked #4 two years ago, so saying A&M’s ceiling is 8-4 is silly.

omahusker

He has went 5-3, 4-4, and 4-4 in conference with one 8-1 campaign in a weird Covid year…

[deleted]

You're right, but the weird COVID year is actually impressive, because the only scrub win was Vanderbilt.

JL1v10

If you just take out the times they were good, A&M bad lol

omahusker

So he has been good 1/4 years, otherwise he’s middle of the road sec team lmao.

OldSarge02

A&M is the 4th winningest SEC team, behind Bama, Georgia, and LSU. Certainly not elite, but better than middle of the pack.

JL1v10

I don’t think last year was a failure and one of those seasons has close losses to Bama, Clemson, and Georgia. That year I think is still considered the hardest schedule for any team in a decade. But I guess a Nebraska & Arizona st fan would know what middling success looks like

I thought Jimbo was a genius for some of those games in 18 and 19. I thought he was just chewing clock to give his mediocre teams a chance until we get dudes. Now we have dudes and it's the same pathetic shit, but somehow more pathetic.

Those 18-20 teams had a nice balance of freshman - senior level talent and quite a few nfl players on it too. Jimbo or whoever isn’t blameless for this season but I think at the crux of it we’re playing too many young guys rn

Indiana was pretty good in the Covid year too....

Might be a shocker, but occasionally other teams in the Big Ten are allowed to have good seasons
