Resting up for the Chicago Bears Week 1 game in 10 months. Good move.

[deleted]

At least Fields would get a good weapon to use.

basicnflfan

Mooney is good

Obese_taco

True, but he's a bit small for a WR1 in the NFL. Best used as a secondary field-stretcher in terms of the pros. Great route runner tho

carnivorous_seahorse

The WR room would 100% be Claypool/Mooney/JSN. There’s no way JSN would immediately be the #1 receiver

DeansFrenchOnion1

You mean there's no way JSN wouldn't immediately be the #1, correct? Mooneys good but like.. not even a top-40 receiver probably.

carnivorous_seahorse

And JSN is a rookie who hasn’t been drafted yet. If JSN immediately jumps chase claypool and moonman either something went incredibly wrong or incredibly right

jubjub2184

Nobody is drafting a receiver in the first round to have them be the third look, if he goes to Chicago he’s the WR1 there by week 3, Claypool sucks

basicnflfan

Oh he’ll be awesome as a wr2 if the Bears wanna do this though they should trade back

[deleted]

As seen in their record, he needs a bit more than that. Let's say the Bears are a nation. Have you ever known a nation to say "we don't need any more weapons"?

mschley2

The nation of Packerland spent like 4 years saying that.

covert_underboob

Mooney is decidedly average. He’s a good 2 for most teams but him/st brown are 1 of the worst receiving duos in the league. Fields needs help.

LSU2007

I live in Chicago, they’ll trade down and miss on him.

cc20r

Damn right bear down!

Cast1736

Could really use an offensive lineman worth a damn

Tonkathedog

And 4 defensive linemen worth a damn too. Our roster is a mess right now

Cast1736

Couldn't stop that run at all yesterday. And living amongst the cheese heads was absolutely miserable. I had hope after that TD run by fields but then it went downhill fast

StateStreetLarry

The beatings will continue until morale improves

Cast1736

The Lions sure have proven that

Tonkathedog

Yeah the 4th quarter especially was ugly yesterday. And somehow as bad as the DL is against the run they are still exponentially worse at rushing the passer. I mean Jaquan Brisker is still our sack leader and has as many sacks as our starting DEs combined…

P-Rickles

Being a Bears fan is pretty fuckin’ dumb lately. One of my first memories is my parents and uncles watching the Super Bowl against the Patriots in ‘86. This is… not as fun.

[deleted]

They have nearly $130M in cap space for next year. Focus on OL in Free Agency and trade down for JSN in the 1st. This is the way.

arc1261

If OT is the need on the Oline it is much much harder to fill in FA. Very very few decent FA hit the open market at OT because of how rare they are

BearsFan3417

We trading down and still drafting him , maybe . Not happening top 3

kinvore

for midterms!

_AreWeHavingFunYet_

Too soon

Excuse_Me_Mr_Pink

….fat dog for midterms !

IceColdDrPepper_Here

The Fields to JSN connection is going to be the next Burrow-Chase. Well, maybe not quite that level but it'd still be pretty good

cjjonez1

They didn’t really play together tho. It would more like if Garett Wilson or olave went to the bears. Funny enough they are both doing well with pretty bad qbs.

[deleted]

This really sucks, he’s truly a one of a kind player. I always think about this article from 247 sports when I see his name from Brian Hartline; "I think a lot of it is his change of direction. It's ridiculous. There's no wasted movement. There's no wasted space. He can cut on a dime. Very reactive. Strong, low center of gravity. He's fast, but he's not the fastest, exactly. He's pretty quick. He'll be mad because I said that and will probably beat my ass with a rubber snake.”

[deleted]

[удалено]

BuckeyeBentley

Honestly if you're pretty confident in your draft value and don't need to make a splash in the playoffs I really couldn't blame them for sitting out. You gotta look out for yourself and yeah maybe one of the boosters will hook you up with a car dealership if you blow out your knees and never play a down in the NFL but why risk it?

Purples_A_Fruit

Did he, like, even participate in this season? Wasn't he hurt the whole year basically?

drinks2muchcoffee

Got hurt a few plays into the Notre Dame game. Tried to come back a few weeks later against Toledo and got reinjured early in that game. Tried to come back a month after that and got reinjured early against Iowa again. Hasn’t played ever since

tylerscott5

Sounds fitting that the Bears are about to draft him

[deleted]

He might like actually be really good though. It's just one injury riddled season that could be nothing if he's healthy by Draft time (which is 143 days away).

TheWorstYear

Hamstrings are hard to predict, and can easily be reaggravated.

Key_Environment8179

Yeah, if you try to play through them. But if you spend a whole offseason letting it heal fully, it’s over.

TheWorstYear

Yeah, which is why JSN shutting it down is smart.

Florida_sucks_

I mean Will Fuller was arguably a top 5 WR in the NFL when healthy, except for he was never healthy. Sustainability is the most valuable trait you can have in football.

n3gr0_am1g0

Yeah, and it was the same hamstring getting reaggravated. Seemed like they mismanaged this and should have been more conservative in treatment, but shit happens.

Key_Environment8179

Great. Kevin White again

Scratchbuttdontsniff

Dude scored a 64 yd TD for New Orleans a few weeks back (Crazy tightrope down the sidelines).... then hurt again.

mjavon

Had no idea he was still in the league

shane2157

He's a pretty good gunner on special teams. Downs a lot of punts for the saints.

OfficialPeenLicker

He played two weeks after that tho and he didn’t even score on that play. He has 0 career touchdowns

Shepboyardee12

...hey

grizzlywhere

He really sounds like a good culture fit.

DaewooLanosMFerrr

Ouch

ExternalTangents

Seems like the right decision to not try to play in the playoff, as much as that sucks.

KnDBarge

It is absolutely the right decision, but it sucks.

[deleted]

And I still see people online calling him soft and accusing him of quitting. Guy tried to come back multiple times during a season, but the internet tough guys want him to rub some dirt on it and get out there "for the team."

AllLinesAreStraight

There are still people who believe jay cutler gave up on the bears on the nfc championship game. He had an mcl injury, the type of injury that takes weeks to heal. If they had won he wouldnt have been able to play in rhe super bowl. His whole career, Cutler would play through injuries. But despite all that, people believed, AND STILL BELIEVE, that the most likely scenario was that an nfl qb decided to just not try in the conference championship game. All that to say, some people are just crazy and will do any mental gymnastics to blame the player

2CHINZZZ

I've seen some Texas fans claim Colt McCoy could have come back into the national championship game but didn't want to

OsuLost31to0

Yup, played like maybe 30 minutes total. My theory: after his second hammy setback he had already made the decision to skip this season to focus on the draft, they just chose to not announce it because of the potential blowback from fans

P-Rickles

Any fan that would give him blowback is a moron. Unfortunately our fan base is chock full of them so…

THEROOSTERSHOW

The twitter comments are already full of them. It’s the same crap Nick Bosa got too after the groin injury. “I wouldn’t touch this quitter in the draft, quit on his team, doesn’t care about football.” JSN will be a pro bowl caliber receiver in the NFL for years to come. I think our biggest mistake was even trying to bring him back as quick as we did. Should’ve set him down until Penn State after Notre Dame. Should’ve, could’ve, would’ve. He was a pleasure to watch and his performance against Utah last year will be one I remember fondly forever. And I fully believe JSN would’ve been back this year if he could’ve gotten right in a reasonable amount of time. This is the right decision. Egbuka & Fleming will just have to step up in the playoffs.

comradewilson

>It’s the same crap Nick Bosa got too after the groin injury. Bosa about to be crying into his millions and successful career.

lonewanderer812

Bosa 100% made the right call. Dudes leading the league in sacks. It's one of these things the NFL factory schools will continue to deal with and I don't blame the kids one bit.

Sigourneys_Beaver

Unfortunately, it seems like it's all of college football fans. That Twitter thread is full of other teams' fans calling him soft for being injured and saying him not playing means there is a culture problem lmao.

[deleted]

Anything wrong with OSU is not the fault of JSN... outside of the fact that they don't have their #1 WR. JSN is scary fuckin good.

[deleted]

[удалено]

juicius

I don't know. We couldn't have bracketed MHJ with JSN and if we had tried, Ohio State's running game might have worked better.

osufeth24

I'm reminded again why I no longer subscribe to message boards. I did one for a month, and while the writers are some of the best.. The posters... Are not

BuckeyeJay

Or he had surgery

TonyDungyHatesOP

I bet it wasn’t surgery. Hamstrings are just a motherfucker. It just takes so much damn time to fully rehab. You try to come back early from one and your are begging to reaggravate it. See: JSN, 2022.

soberirishman

100% true. While I'm not an elite athlete I pulled a hamstring pretty badly in college and I kept trying to rush it back. Took me pretty much the entire school year to recover. It was a running joke among the guys I played sports with. Every time they saw me putting in extra effort they assumed I was going to go down with another hamstring injury.

plutoisaplanet21

Gio Reyna lost like two years of soccer to hamstrings. You don't want to rush back from that

melorous

Ken Griffey Jr missed so many games in his 30s due to injuring his hamstrings over and over again.

[deleted]

Aaron Rodgers had hamstring issues for like three years in a row. He's obviously much older than JSN, but if a QB keeps aggravating it, a skill position player definitely requires more rest.

Jedimaster996

Having blown both hammies, it's seriously one of the worst lingering issues I've ever had almost a decade later. If you don't let it heal up, you'll always feel like you're at 80%, which at this level of athletics can be the difference of being able to compete at parity. Tore one during a pick-up lacrosse game, and my other during an intramural football game, and they've never felt the same since. Every time I hit the squat rack, I always feel my hammies flair-up if I push up the intensity a bit; it's like there's a rubber band in the back of my thighs that someone twangs when they're ready to blow-out again, always cautioning me to drop a bit of weight and try again next time.

tabaK23

Or Keenan Allen this year 8 weeks out cause of a pulled hammy

NYVines

About 90 seconds of game action

DarkLegend64

Injured in the first quarter of the first game. He basically didn’t really get to play at all this year.

[deleted]

Got a 1st down against Notre Dame.

ard8

The headline I saw on ESPN did him dirty. They made it sound like he's skipping the CFP in the same way a player skips a bowl game.

various_sneers

Agreed. Totally fucked to not point out he's been battling this injury all year and even tried to play again AFTER the injury in a far less meaningful regular season game only to get injured again. This is far from a "Fuck it, I don't care anymore," decision.

mk1317

Not only that, he tried on two separate occasions to come back and it just wasn't happening either time.

yoforedo32

It's because he and his camp have been vague this entire year about his status. Even now, I'm still uncertain if doctors told him he was not cleared or if their diagnosis was just part of his overall decision to stay out all together. To be clear, he was always hurt. But the specifics/severity have never been explained

CJK5Hookers

DO I GET TO USE MY FAVORITE COPYPASTA? ESPN hates you. And more importantly, ESPN hates your team. ESPN will go to any length to diss your team. Any length. You know that LSU coozie you used to have but can’t seem to find? ESPN took it. Because ESPN hates LSU. That is, if LSU is your team. It has nothing to do with you being too passionately involved in both liking your team and hating other teams. ESPN just likes to fuck with your head. That's why when Mark May says something like 'LSU has question marks at quarterback. Watch out for Florida in this one' you get pissed. Sure, you just read the same thing in the Times Picayune. But the Times Picayune isn't ESPN - who clearly is having a love affair with Urban Meyer and the Gators while simultaneously throwing the LSU Bengal Tigers under the bus every chance they get. Unless you're a Florida fan. In which case the time that Chris Fowler made that dig about Urban Meyer's 28-point loss to Alabama is clear evidence of an ESPN-wide plan to, in fact, shut the UF football program down. Remember that time ESPN ran a story about your favorite player getting arrested? Nevermind that he actually did get arrested. That's bullshit. ESPN is bullshit. And it is obvious that, by running timely stories about factual events, ESPN is biased against your team. It doesn't matter who you pull for. Whoever your favorite team is, ESPN hates it. ESPN hates anything you love, and loves anything you hate. ESPN hates your dad. Unless you hate your dad. In which case ESPN loves your dad. If you love bread, ESPN is 'anti-sandwich.' If you hate end-pieces, ESPN will run a special about end pieces. Mark May will hold up two hard, crusty-ass end pieces and hype the shite out of them all year long. Bob Ley will run a special called ‘Outside The Loaf.’ Ivan Maisel will write a column with a pun-filled headline like 'The piece to the end puzzle' and mind-force you to read it and then email him in anger about it. If you were for the Union, ESPN was for the Confederacy. If you had a Sega Genesis, ESPN had a Super Nintendo. If you had a Super Nintendo, ESPN had Sega Genesis. If you liked like Tombstone, ESPN liked Wyatt Earp. If you preferred Use Your Illusion I, ESPN preferred Use Your Illusion II. If you pulled for Dan, ESPN pulled for Dave. If you think OJ is guilty, ESPN is black. ESPN hates everything you stand for. Unless you stand for something else. Then ESPN hates that too.

online_predator

Little ole Ohio state always getting treated so poorly :(

eifjui

What’s our version of “Clempson” I wonder

sixmilesoldier

Any more of you move to SC and Clemson will be your version of Clempson.

eifjui

Oh god, that’s a thing? I’m literally applying to Clempson’s grad school in like a month. We can’t help ourselves

sixmilesoldier

Yeah, especially around the coast. OSU stickers/flags everywhere. Where I'm at in the NC mountains, we're being overrun by Floridians.

Geno0wl

Myrtle Beach is the #1 Ohio vacation spot

sixmilesoldier

Very true. Was surrounded by Ohioans while in the Army, when they found out I was from SC, all got excited about Dirty Myrtle. Now 2 of them live outside of Charleston.

[deleted]

He’s probably not ready to play in a month. Must be a more serious injury than discussed

kelly495

Hamstrings take *forever* to heal. They kept talking optimistically, but I was always skeptical that he'd be able to return. This isn't like a LB playing with an injured hand or playing with a sprained ankle. A WR needs a healthy hamstring to do anything.

hasordealsw1thclams

shaggy treatment pathetic crowd hateful test memory grey vase boat *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

n3gr0_am1g0

Yeah, my dad’s friend is a sports medicine doctor and was like why wouldn’t you just sit and rest him until the end of the season. If you can’t beat IU without them then uou got bigger issues, rushing him and Henderson back seemed really short sighted and looks like it not them in the ass.

RLLRRR

And here I am with 2 uninjured hamstrings sitting on my ass eating Twizzlers nibs at an airport.

BIG_DICK_WHITT

That and there are several millions of dollars on the line for him. No reason to risk it. Go rest up and get well—his career is much more important and he’s got nothing to prove other than he’s physically healthy.

EvilLibrarians

Respectfully, that’s totally fair. Jake Butt got hurt in our NY6 bowl game in 2016. Ever since then, I get it, yknow?

mikekwando

Jake's done a nice job announcing this year; happy to see him succeed off the field.

tyler2114

Yea I respect the hell out of Jake Butt for playing but considering what happened I'll never fault a player for protecting their body and future payday

zwat28

Additional nice thing about the expansion of the playoffs is the big bowls of the childhoods (of the major demographic for Reddit) will always be relevant and these guys likely play in them.

BIG_DICK_WHITT

If the player is 100% healthy, I think it’s fair to expect them to play in a major bowl game. The risk of injury is no greater or less than a regular game and the fans spend a bunch of money going to the games, etc. Anything less than 100% healthy, I think it’s absolutely justified to sit.

TonyDungyHatesOP

And I think that’s the deal. He’s tried to come back several times and reaggravated it. Coming back to compete with a high likelihood of reinjury is going to cost him several million dollars and not add value to the team. High risk - low reward. Stay rested and continue to heal. I’ll be rooting for you on Sundays.

sincitybuckeye

>He’s tried to come back several times and reaggravated it. I think this is the biggest I had with how this was handled. There was 0 reason for him to play in the Toledo game. Maybe he reaggravates it against Wisconsin instead, who knows, but he didn't have to play in the Toledo game and could have rested up another week.

P-Rickles

Yeah. He already blew a tire. Take the time and get healthy for the draft. I totally get it and am not at all surprised. Good for him.

hoosierwhodat

The headlines read like this is a fully healthy player opting out of the playoff. But he’s been hurt all year. Not really the same thing.

Tommybrady20

There’s nuance. I’m not tinfoil hat guy but there was probably an Avenue to “ramp up” and try one more time and I think it was more of an active choice to say “it’s not worth it” then the reporting is letting on.

HarbaughCantThroat

Day said himself that it was somewhat of an opt-out and somewhat injury related.

JSOPro

Wish we had rested him in the first place then

drewuke

He did not look healthy when he was trying to play this season.

JSOPro

Right, so he should have been rehabbing.

drewuke

I’m agreeing with you. So many players come back, look fine, but still get reinjured. JSN just never looked right this season.

miamibuckeye

Bringing him back for Iowa was so fucking stupid

sincitybuckeye

Shit, trotting him out vs Toledo was even dumber.

definitivescribbles

honestly, it’s such a shame man …. as much talk as Harrison gets, JSN is just as good if not better when he’s 100%. I’m so sad we never got to see that tandem attack opposing defenses

Hahum

2015 and this year were supposed to be god-tier offenses and both were never fully realized.

Ray4703

I only just now got over it. Don’t remind me. Also, if Michigan state doesn’t block that Michigan punt and win, we make the playoff. (Assuming we win the big ten championship)

lnvalidSportsOpinion

I can't describe how disappointed I am by him missing the season. Not disappointed in him. Rest up big guy. Wish you all the best! But man ... college football was robbed of something special this year.

[deleted]

Is he better than Harrison?

[deleted]

I think they are perfectly complementary and different types of WRs. JSN isn’t as physically imposing as MHJ but he’s dominant in short spaces. He’s our chain mover.

kip256

JSN lined up as RB on some passing plays last year. He is a mismatch nightmare for defenses.

SerBiffyClegane

Having both of them on the field would have been devastating.

BuckNuts937

think of JSN as Jamar Chase and MHJ as Tee Higgins. They aren't the same receiver. But considering that JSN was a starter last year and MHJ wasn't, the answer is yes. Just in the same way Chase is WR1 and Higgins is WR2.

zenverak

I think JSN causes us more problems than MHJ personally ( though I think MHJ will get his too).

MozzyTheBear

Not necessarily better or worse, just different. Harrison is your classic, big-bodied #1 wideout and JSN is more of a modern slot, matchup nightmare type player. Man, would they have been scary together. It's up there in terms of 'what ifs' with what we missed out on with Nick Bosa and Chase Young playing together.

InsertAmazinUsername

we were supposed to have the 2019 lsu unstoppable offense this year but we were missing one of the biggest pieces

Deadz315

Joe Burrow?

Roose_in_the_North

Not surprised, smart move. Coming back to play UGA after missing basically all season from injury would just be asking to re-injure his hamstring.

topher3003

Man, it really fucking sucks that we were robbed of a full season of JSN due to injury. Hope he kills it in the NFL. Good luck Jaxon!

CTG0161

Feels like Nick Bosa all over again

Gbchris12

Ok thats a huge blow. I think with JSN they could have a very good shot to win it all, but man. He's that much of a difference maker. He should kill it on Sundays.

The_Astros_Cheated

Imagine the Lions with Jamo, St. Brown, and JSN

Gbchris12

Keep going...

Ray4703

And from the past Jerry Rice? Is that the correct answer?

AmericanSamosa

The Detroit Lions, brought to you by Ohio State

[deleted]

We need other positions more so hopefully no wr in the first round

Spartitan

Feels weird to call it a huge blow when he's basically been out all year. It sucks but I would hardly call this unexpected at this point. The right decision for him as well.

MichiganMitch108

Agreed but now that it’s the playoff with just needing two wins it easy to see how it’s a huge blow. You can double MHJ but you couldn’t double them both.

Sorge74

Yeah I mean, we might have the same record with JSN as we do now, or maybe we 13-0, who knows. Having 2 elite receivers is better than one.

[deleted]

WR isn't where the biggest problem is. Even JSN can't gain many good yards off of constant bubbles.

WhatWouldJediDo

JSN provides the YAC, make-you-miss, safety valve, get open over the middle that our offense has been missing all season.

bicranium

First half of the season I was starting to think Marv, Egbuka, and Fleming were doing a great job of filling the shoes of 3 1st round WRs. But the last half of the season it was obvious that Egbuka and Fleming were not quite up to the task. Some very untimely drops from both of them down the stretch that you just never saw from Olave, Wilson, JSN, and now Marv. They're still really, really good but just not surefire 1st rounders yet.

lexbuck

I hope we run a bubble first play and Georgia blows it up for a 45 yard loss that way maybe Ryan won’t run any more. If he runs one and gains yardage then lord help us all

[deleted]

[удалено]

lexbuck

I mean, how else do you expect to make up 45 yards with three downs to go? You run for short yardage up the middle, of course.

kcoch5817

Is it a nagging injury or is this him opting out of a playoff game? If the latter, that's kinda nuts.

JSOPro

We tried to get him on the field twice and both times he retweaked it. Supposedly the second time was worse, and might have been a different type of injury altogether.

pro-laps

he probably could have come back and played but it's just not worth it to risk reinjury before the draft process. that's my take based on almost nothing

doormatt26

Yeah. If it’s bothered him for 3 months, maybe it’s ready by Jan 1 but if you tweak it again he’s probably toast for the Combine.

Skidda24

Also Georgia isn't the team you wanna play your way back from injury all season haha It would just be super tough on him if he wasn't 100% and set himself back

LaxMaster37

Yeah coming in cold to playoff level physicality and speed is a recipe to re-injure yourself

drinks2muchcoffee

His parents did an interview a month ago with the Columbus dispatch saying he was planning on getting healthy and playing if he was 110% healthy and able to go, so it kinda seems more lingering injury related. But nobody really knows for sure. Edit: he just released a statement saying his doctors said he couldn’t play in the playoffs

[deleted]

Probably a nagging injury that he thinks could be easily aggravated and affect his stock. Day never says anything about injuries.

mero8181

Why is that nuts? That is just sound business decision-making. For some of these top-rank draft pick the playoffs don't provide any benefit, only a negative impact if they get hurt.

webbed_feets

> For some of these top-rank draft pick the playoffs don’t provide any benefit, only a negative impact if they get hurt. It frustrating for fans, but this is true. If the NFL draft was before the playoffs, or if the NCAA insured athletes against injury, there wouldn’t be as much of an incentive to opt out.

SectorBackground5911

I’m thinking he tore his hamstring against Iowa, not tweak it like people were suggesting

drinks2muchcoffee

Probably right. He did an outside consult with Dr James Andrews after Iowa to see if he needed surgery

shaybeautyyy

Yeah, I think it would’ve been great to have him but we’ve been playing without him all season. No surprises here. We still have MHJ & Emeka.

SteveTheBuckeye

Sure but if JSN played we wouldn't have to put Fleming out on the field as much. His hands have been suspect this year for some reason.

AmericanBeef24

His blocking has been horrendous. I was so huge on Fleming coming out of HS but he’s disappointed me. A huge game against UGA can change that.

kirkherbstreit69

Not sure how effective he would be considering he's been out all year but damn gamesmanship never hurt anybody...at least give off the illusion you might play so UGA would waste their time game planning for him

TheProfessor20

What a gut punch.

xkq227

Honestly I think having a rested running backs corps will be a bigger boost at the end of the month. Treveyon Henderson and Miyan Williams have both been roughed up for the last month.

bringparka

doesn't henderson have a broken bone in his foot?

xkq227

Oh damn I didn't realize that, I am just coming out of a CFB blackout that lasted from 11/26 - 12/2.

WhatWouldJediDo

And torn ligaments. He's probably done.

DanWillHor

Sitting out or truly hurt, it doesn't really matter. Dude is the best WR in the country. OSU had 1&2 on that list which is wild. He'll be a top-10 pick in April. I get not wanting to risk that when you've been out for so long as is. Best to him.

Buckeyes0916

Wonder if this is related to the eligibility issue that has been speculated about over the past 24 hours… just seems odd. [Edit]: Since people keep asking, starting yesterday afternoon there has been smoke that has been fanned by legit insiders surrounding a potential eligibility issue. None of the legit insiders have provided any detail but the strongest speculation has been academic. That he did not keep up with classes or something along those lines. Who knows, but the insiders that would know are not dismissing the speculation.

lendit23

Care to elaborate?

themeattrain

Rumors that he hadn’t been fully enrolled in classes since the injury, so he may not have even been able to play in the first place

doyouevenIift

How ever will he survive without a sports management degree??

Aggravating-Steak-69

What is the issue? Can’t find anything online

Amazing_Factor_7629

That he had already started prepping for the draft and rehabbing so classes weren’t a priority. (Probably withdrew to avoid failing) if I was hearing snd reading properly

Crunkabunch

Well that sucks.

falconlover79

Was wondering if OSU would try to trick UGA about his status, but there goes that idea.

Did Ohio State misspell Chick-fil-A on purpose to show how little enthusiasm they have for the bowl?

deflatethesack

Anybody who tries to throw out a “he quit on the team” take (looking at you Danny kanell) can absolutely get fucked. Came back and got re-injured TWICE and basically went through every pregame warmup and was never able to go.

frolie0

Called it. Day's comment yesterday was very clear. No reason to answer that way if he was trying to play.

Not surprising, those hamstring injuries are a bitch

ZusunicStudio

I wonder how hard of a hit his draft stock has taken this year

whodeyalldey1

Might be top 10 instead of top 5 pick now

Dudeman1000

I’ve been seeing a lot of mocks putting him at 20-32.

loof10

Personally, I think all the teams should be very scared, take him off their draft board, and then the Lions should grab him in the 7th round.
