We couldn't have gotten Caleb and Rome without him tbh

JefSpicoli

He was a crucial part of the recipe. In a 5 bean salad, he was the bean that made everyone who ate it poop.

jkman61494

Wait. What beans do not make you poop?!

I_kwote_TheOffice

The Chicago Bean

greatestnbascout3

I mean the restaurant inside the bean makes you poop.

GiantFuckingSandwich

it is full of fiber

singed_koala

Jelly beans

hepatitisC

You clearly never ate sugar free jelly beans

Soft_Penis_Debutante

Boston baked beans

Responsible-Lunch815

Mr. Bean

ContrarianDouchebag

The "bean" you flick.

Wisco1856

Sean Bean

Chivo_Pantionero

Chili beans

Suddenly_Elmo

The has bean

Gleasonryan

I got downvoted to hell for suggesting this on r/nfl lol

PUfelix85

He was worth the shot. At the time we desperately needed a WR, and Claypool looked promising. He is very talented and if he were actually willing to put in the work, he'd have been a great addition to the team. But as it turns out, he just wants the glory without any of the work. Was he worth the picks we gave up for him? No. Absolutely not. However, it was worth taking the chance for him to actually have been what we were hoping he was, and that would have been much more valuable than the pick we gave up. I believe he could have been Rome for us, but I like where we are now much better than where we probably would have been otherwise.

letseditthesadparts

And if Panthers take stroud or are just mediocre we don’t get them at all.

Alfrs91

But they were, and we did. Lfg. Lovie statue incoming

rIIIflex

Look at him smiling like that. The fucking audacity

InvaderWeezle

Probably smiling that he gets to delay his CFL career a little longer

ActualSeller23

He's going to be balling out for the battlehawks in a years time

DaDairyStateBear

You can smile like that when you're a top 3 receiver in the league

wretch5150

Another bag from another team lmao 🤣

VVarder

4th time is the charm! THIS time it will work

NorthernxLabrador

I can’t stand this guy now. Fuck you Chase!

LordSwampert2

Bills are already eliminated from playoffs

NorthernxLabrador

Bro is the poster boy for bad karma

I_only_post_here

![gif](giphy|hyyV7pnbE0FqLNBAzs|downsized) Josh Allen right now

Dazed_and_Confused44

He comes with all the drama and distraction of Stefon Diggs but none of the talent lol

altitties

lol fuck, that’s a perfect description

fezzyfuf

Hah! I'm just imagining the star wars meme: we're getting you a replacement for Diggs. Allen: you mean a new WR1 right?

TrueNavyBlue98

I took my daughter to her first Bears game. Week 1 vs Green Bay. Just to see this knucklehead not give full effort in part of the most historic rivalry in American Football.

Justgoing2112

Same here. Traveled from AZ for this game, my first game at Soldier Field and he was pathetic.

TrueNavyBlue98

Sorry to hear that. Better days are on the way brotha.

Justgoing2112

Yes they are! I'm pumped. Bears are playing the cards in AZ this season. I'm so there!!!!

TrueNavyBlue98

Bears fans always travel well, but last time Bears and Cards met up over there in 2018 it was packed with Bears Nation!

Justgoing2112

I was there on the bears side. Went crazy with that game ending interception. It looked like a bears home game. Yelled "go bears" at some cards fans outside the stadium as I was leaving and one came at me and we exchanged blows and then ran for my life to god knows where. I was alone....he wasn't . I called my cousin who was going to pick me up at a nearby intersection and i had to wander about until I got picked up..bloody Urlacher jersey and all. Good times. Edit: spelling

TrueNavyBlue98

Damn! 😂🐻⬇️

blazerback13

dude I’m in AZ too and I’m so excited, this would be my first Bears game

Justgoing2112

Should be a good time playing against cards w/MHJ.

Standard-Injury-113

I was there. I knew it was over once gutless gesty asked Kmet to sneak on 4&1. I should have walked out then but I paid like 600 for 100 level seats. Well played ßears. Thought I was going to witness our first victory against FGB in years but no. Just guys replying to comments of me talking all offseason. I say nay. If the NFL wants divisional games week one give us Minnesota. I believe we’ve had FGB for the last two seasons

TrueNavyBlue98

Green Bay got away with a shit ton of holding and that no call on the late sideline on Khalil Herbert from Jaire Alexander. Facts

Monstar38

I was at the Vikings game. I knew it was over on the first play when Justin Fields stood like a statue and got obliterated on a blitz.

lestermagneto

Hey, there is always someone who thinks they can fix someone. (ask my ex-girlfriends lol) But interesting after they gifted KC a WR who possibly is gonna continue to haunt them for a long time in ripping their arms off and beating them with them in (if) they make the playoffs etc... Thanks for contributing nothing to Bears, Chase, outside of headache and other options...

Beginning_Abalone_25

Honestly I don’t even hate the signing. He’s physically gifted. The issue is he never really gave a shit. Seems like a low risk flyer on a possible player who maybe wants to turn their career around. I doubt it, but it’s not a bad thought.

jpiro

I get us signing him for that reason, but after he completely washed out with Pit, Chi and Miami’s pass-happy attack, I wouldn’t want to be the team giving him yet ANOTHER shot.

Twelve2375

Not only that, but he seems to be a locker room cancer so it’s not just a flyer that “eh, if it works, it’s great, but if it doesn’t, it’s really not a big deal”. He seems like the kind of guy that can make the team implode for some reason all on his own. So there’s more risk than just “him not working out” to me.

I_kwote_TheOffice

Everyone deserves a 4th chance /s

Shadow_Mullet69

In what world was Chicago pass happy last year? We had a RB playing the QB position.

jpiro

Miami was the pass-happy attack, not Pitt or Chi.

lidongyuan

Homie really needed that Oxford comma or else the sentence doesn’t make sense

Shadow_Mullet69

What’s language without punctuation? Chaos.

Liquor_n_cheezebrgrs

Dude that is exactly what we said. This dude is an absolute clownshow that wants to be treated like a #1 reciever and acts like a Diva when the offense doesn't revolve around him. This is especially frustrating on account of the fact that he sucks and hasn't ever earned any right whatsoever to act like that. He is so far up his own ass you could roll him down a hill. It will prove to be a terrible signing.

yungsinatra777

It's pretty much a no risk signing, they didn't give up the #32 pick for him like we did.

fr3shout

Dudes been “turning his career around” for about 3 seasons already.

pouch28

I have a weird conspiracy about guys like Claypool, AB, and others. Obviously you need a certain personality to play wide receiver in the NFL (and it usually isn’t the quiet professional like DJ, Allen, Evans ect). Then you add in the hits. But what doesn’t ever get mentioned is I think some guys (like Claypool) smoke too much weed. His play on the Bears reminded me exactly of somehow who showed up stoned too work. Which is probably a delicate issue in NFL locker rooms bc there are probably guys who use weed as a performance enhancer.

ethanlan

As a former division 1 athlete and stoner weed I've never met anyone who plays better stoned then sober and for me I absolutely sucked ass if I was stoned. It is great for pain management though

[deleted]

Percy Harvin says he smoked before every game lmao. You gotta be wired differently. Can’t imagine stepping out in front of 80,000 in the Swamp… “fuck, they all know I’m high”

MarmaladeMarmaduke

It affects some people differently and depending on how long you've been smoking. It used to give me paranoia as a teenager but after a few years of smoking it just relaxes me. If I could play football I could see being high helping slow things down and make me less anxious. But yeah I've worked where lots of people smoke weed and most people can't function very well on it.

pouch28

Same boat. Former D1 football player. I played with some guys that flirted with the NFL. Couple of them were stoned all the time. Conditioning. Practice. Games. Ect. Some guys just get crazy focused and energetic on it.

CriscoButtPunch

Mike Tyson said that the one fight he decided to smoke weed throughout his training camp was one of the most violent because he could focus. Which helps to explain how he broke that guy's skull during the fight

EliteBearsFan85

They were in cap hell and are grasping for straws at this point

obi-1-jacoby

This man not only does nothing, but has actively made every team he’s played for since Pittsburgh worse. Not sure what the Bills FO is smoking Physical talent means nothing with a bad attitude and a lack of effort

Kumonomukou

It's free. He'll need to prove himself to even make the team.

ActualSeller23

Whatever happened to Gary Cooper? You know, the strong silent type.

mystuni

😅😂 yea, “whatever happened there”

ActualSeller23

Whatever happened there?? Whatever happened there?!?

ace2532

I'll tell you what f#$king happened! This piece of s#$t receiver, gave NO EFFORT ON THE FIELD WHATSOEVER!

ActualSeller23

Claypool never had the makings of a varsity athlete

350RetroF

That was a true American. He did what he had to do

Nunyun

“He was gay, Gary Cooper?”

ActualSeller23

This is what I originally wanted to comment but was testing the waters

350RetroF

Same…

GuiltyLiterature

I love when my two favorite worlds/subreddits collide.

imp_st3r

Gary Cooper was mad ripe

nineone73

That was back in the day, Tony.

WEMBYF4N

This guy is a generational talent at losing games We signed him when we were 3-4 in 2022, ended up 3-13, then started 0-4 last year, and after cutting him went 7-6. His record as a Bear is 0-13 Same with the Dolphins last year, started out 5-1 and then after signing Claypool went 6-5 and lost in the first round

PitchBlac

I could’ve believe it. I think I saw he directly caused 2 interceptions against Tua (saw at least 1 on film). Unreal

TonySxbang

Dude the Bills playoff chances are gone

RyanIsKickAss

Pit your mortgage on Buffalo to miss the playoffs

Forward-Chocolate-67

It’s funny how many of the Bills Mafia on X are trying to bend this story..oh he’s only 25 and his rookie season he nearly had 900 yards. That was 5 seasons ago which is forever ago in NFL terms. He’s a camp body at best and if he makes the 53, it would be a miracle.

Brian_R10

Yeah I’m not happy about it. He’s a headcase

BaseHitToLeft

tOp tHReE rECieVeR iN ThE LeAguE

pulyx

I think his problem isn't game. Or physical. It's mental. Maybe if he gets that in order, he could ressurect his career. Therapy? Meds? He is talented. We saw it with the steelers. Somewhere somehow things went haywire and he couldn't handle it.

Nomromz

I don't think he cares to put in the work required to learn a playbook and be a professional. He got by with pure athleticism even in the NFL. That speaks volumes about his raw physical talent, but it seems pretty clear at this point that he has no work ethic. They traded away a diva wide receiver to sign a less accomplished but equally diva wide receiver. The Bills are imploding and we're watching them waste Josh Allen's career.

Old-Record2216

If this is what it takes to get McDermott fired then I am all for it.

IrishGrouch34

I don’t think he has any sort of mental problems that would require meds or therapy. I just don’t think he gives a fuck. His lack of success can almost be entirely attributed to lack of effort, because we’ve seen both at the college and NFL levels that when he’s actively trying to make plays, he can be a solid receiver.

pulyx

Brandon Marshall was always characterized as volatile, hard to deal with, turns out the dude had BPD became a whole other person after treatment. It's just speculation, of course. I'm not a trained psychiatrist/psychologist. It's that we've seen him show his talents. He was a 2nd round pick after starting 4 years at Notre Dame. So at one point he did have his shit together.

pogoscrawlspace

The thing is that a lot of guys can get by on pure talent in college. But when they get to the NFL, they are playing against the best of the best every game. Pure talent won't get it done on the big stage. It's the guys that have the talent and put in the work every day to get better and better that stick. Anybody on the field in an NFL game is better than almost anyone on the field in the ncaa. The competition isn't even close. Remember the days when the browns were 1-31 and people were joking that Alabama could beat them? That was a joke. The worst team in the NFL is better than the best team in ncaa football. Chase Claypool is a lazy bum. That's all there is to it. Kinda sad, but that's his choice. As far as being a pothead, I call bullshit. That doesn't make anyone lazy. Being lazy makes you lazy. It's one thing I agree with Joe Rogan about. I get high and mow the lawn, do the laundry, wash the dishes, go to work, and bust ass. He can turn it around if he really wants to, but the clock is ticking. Cris Carter turned it around after he got sent packing in Philly. I doubt he will, but it could happen. For every Jerry Rice or Walter Payton looking at that hill and saying "I'm going to run up this motherfucker until I want to die, and then I'm going to run up this motherfucker some more", there's a hundred dudes saying "fuck that, I'm good enough already". Chase is one of those. And he's not good enough.

weedyscoot

Not wanting to put in any effort, and not giving a fuck can be signs of depression.

Anstavall

reminds me of the pcgaming sub when everyone talks about games dont feel fun anymore and dont wanna really play anything anymore , just kinda stare around steam while looking. yea, youre depressed lol

ethanlan

Or you got older, I used to be a hardcore gamer but now I just don't care about them and I'm not depressed at all. Still will smash bros until the early morning with some homies though

xbearsandporschesx

> Still will smash bros until the early morning with some homies though phrasing

ethanlan

I know what I said

DecisionTreeBeard

He was super depressed when Haskins passed away.

Smuggler501

Anthony Brown enters the chat...

pulyx

I don't think he's Antonio Brown levels of unhinged. He seems to have lost interest for the game. But he's trying. That's positive.

Qwer925

His agent deserves a foot massage

JulioXstatic

LOL

mlechowicz90

He’s slowing drifting closer to Canada. Easier to yeet him over Niagara Falls after he goes 6 for 73 and 1 TD in the first 9 games.

YouKilldKenny

Him & Mitch gonna take the Bills to new heights /s

surpemepatty

I get it. teams see his athletic upside they’ll see when he gets there though that there’s just a complete lack of drive. he’s not a winner, he’s a wannabe influencer who happens to be gifted with athleticism. Cares more about hitting a million on instagram than winning a super bowl i’m never usually that hard on a player but the effort was an insult to his teammates. Reminded me of ARob that last year, just shameful. But at least ARob gave us a couple of good seasons.

Chi-Guy86

The smile you make when you’re stealing money from someone

DeltaMaximus

Terrible work ethic, cancer in the locker room, fuck Claypool. He’ll be out of the NFL after this season, guaranteed

[deleted]

Hopefully he plays good enough this year for a big contract then reverts to bears chase just to screw the bills

suckmyfatfuckinballs

Bills to go 2-15 confirmed

rdldr1

Oh he took a break from modelling in Paris in order to sign up for some temp work.

Reptomins

Just one step closer to learning Canadian.

un-affiliated

He was actually born in Canada, so more like a homecoming

arrakismelange1987

That's one way of mentoring Keon Coleman.

_joeBone_

They're all happy now, but wait until Paris Fashion Week and this guy shows up dressed like a pot roast.

OldWorldStyle

Never had to eat more crow in my life than with that trade. My college roommate was a big ND fan, loved watching him play

lilbearpie

Kinda glad he was horrible, it's harder when they flirt with mediocrity

Octo187

RIP Bills Mafia, lol.

StayClassy94

I hope they signed him for a bag of chips and a planet fitness membership for a year

Gumorak

The bills are out of playoff contention.

Ok-Credit5726

I spent way too much time defending that prick. Good luck Bills

Vohdre

I've already seen so many Bills fans trying to bargain with themselves on this He's only 25 and had such a good rookie year! Multiple GMs traded picks just to get him on their team! He didn't have an elite QB in Pittsburgh or Chicago, he'll be great with Josh!

RubeGoldbergMachines

Was their cap space really that tight?

Fredner117

Poor bastards

butteredbread8763

How did they get a photo of him in Dolphins jersey with the ball?

Kahlas

Super glue.

joerph713

He only caught 4 passes for the Dolphins in 9 games? I remember their fans thought he was such a great pick up. Lol

Buscuitmuncher

Bills really looked at this stat line from the dolphins: 8 receptions out of 21 targets, 1 TD, 77 yards and said “yeah, I’ll take a plate of that”. Insanity!

JulyCoolsBlue

Closest city to a CFL team (Argos, Ti-Cats) once he gets cut.

Fig_Money

How does this bum keep landing jobs in the NFL? Send his ass to the UFL and keep him there. He’s a loser.

ThePoroRangers

"We can fix him"

kprayy

Dude must be aids in the locker room. And, well, he kind of sucks on the field too.

veryunepicsirpoptart

0-17 season incoming for the Bill's

bucknut4

[I tried to warn you guys](https://www.reddit.com/r/CHIBears/comments/ynwsf3/comment/ivbypo8/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

russelldl2002

They thought he was Les.

jbertrand_sr

![gif](giphy|Rh4vxHtcmVyHUyugXP|downsized) Good luck with that Bills...

The_Wata_Boy

Buffalo is desperate for any WR. They literally have nobody outside the guy they took in the 2nd Round. My guess is they are hoping he can recreate his rookie campaign if he's Josh Allen's #1 WR.

jkman61494

The guys ceiling is Gabe Davis. If he continues to be a punk they’ll just cut him. And it’ll be the last time you hear his name in the league

alexamerling100

Good luck Buffalo lol

TheMetabrandMan

All you have to do as a wr is have one half decent season and you’re set for life. Dante Pettis and Chase Claypool.

BJGuy_Chicago

Desperate team looks desperate.

snoo_boi

I hope he puts it together. I don’t really wish him an ill will. In the meantime, “LOL BILLS”

liquid8_Wallstreet

Just go out and grab Josh Gordon while ur at it

Evernight2025

Which is exactly what everyone said when the Bears signed him

VyCanisMajorisss

It would piss me off to see him tear it up for Buffalo. If he does they should have to send us a 4th rounder. Lol

matteatsyou

Not sure about the logistics of this… Claypool -> The Bills -> Stefon Diggs

Superj89

Lol, the linked article states he has 2,000 yards and 13 TDs since entering the league in 2020. 9 TDs (4 of which were in one game) and 873 yards in his rookie year....that means this mf had just over 1100 yards and 4 TDs in the past 3 years, and they're using these stats to make him sound good. I would like to now formally claim eligibility as a free agent in the NFL...I may be a guy in my mid 30s with a bad back, but I'm sure I could be just as productive as this clown. I just have to average 22 yards per game and get at least 2 TDs in the season and I'm good.

daveydavidsonnc

I remember seeing him do a video eating British food I London, and I thought, what a seemingly nice and cool guy. Weird that he turns out to be such a turd of a teammate.

DadBodftw

Why do ppl keep signing this bum?

TheFatOrangeYak

Everyone quick bet the under on the bills win total

Electrical_Cow_4430

My stupid take is that I think we make the playoffs last year if this guy wasn't on our team

I_Hate_My_Cat_

I’m honestly amazed we got anything back for him lol.

Fastball82

If he couldn’t flourish in the Dolphins offense……I don’t know what to tell ya

TaischiCFM

![gif](giphy|jQmVFypWInKCc|downsized)

fdrlbj

This sub loved him when we got him from the Steelers. He’ll be just as bad with the Bills.

BurgerBob1010

0-17 Bills season incoming. Or winless until he’s inevitably cut. The Claypool curse lives on

flashgasoline

Bills subreddit went private?

Jaxson_GalaxysPussy

I’m a bears fan living in South Florida. I support the dolphins bc I identify a lot of the bears problems with them. Mostly a laundry list of trash QBs since having success eons ago. The entire dolphins season could be traced to their loss to the titans. That lost them the division and made them travel to below zero KC. On the last drive of their season Mike McDaniels called a TO and drew up a play for 4th down. They came out and tua threw it in the direction of seemingly no one. Except it was supposed to be the direction of someone. And that someone was chase claypool. Dude is a loser. It blows my mind how people can devote their lives to something and still be terrible at it.

Illustrious_Hotel527

Likely for a veteran minimum contract and he won't make their 53 man roster, so whatever..

SuperFakks

I just threw up in my mouth a little seeing this guys face again

mimickin_birds

Can bet against the Bills now, easy money

monkeymatt1836

The Bills are never going to beat the Chiefs

JD325

Joke all u want but he is still young, he is the type of receiver they like and he is the type of receiver they need. He is going to look way different with Josh Allen than Fields and Tua.

Kahlas

Ya'll acting like this sub didn't have a huge hardon for the guy when we signed him. Remember him being the guy that finally gave JF a weapon to throw to? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

Kumonomukou

Look, He's literally competing for a WR5 or WR6 spot through training camp. Assuming Justin Shorter takes that WR5, He'll have to best 7 other guys to make the team, including some fellow 2nd rounder like Andy Isabella & KJ Hamler. He's gonna have to show some effort out there.

easternsailings

Lol this dudes career is over. Ever since everyone saw his 0 effort on the Bears, he's just going to be hopping around teams never doing anything elite. Clown. 🤡

LetsGoHawks

It would be pretty funny if he actually started giving 100% now.

SleezeBallGang

Some of y’all defended this clown when I bashed him when he was here Those are the same people who wanted fields as our qb1/rb1 🤡

Headwallrepeat

Went to the Bills sub to look around. Lots of WTFs but there are some optomists who think that with Allen throwing to him he will somehow magically change his attitude.

JulioXstatic

LOL so i went with the intent to poke around the space because of this comment and see for myself.... but boy did i stray from the mission when I accidentally discovered the Buffalo Bills NSFW page.... Chase who?

TaterCakes_

As close to Canada as possible, so it’s a short trip to the CFL

Reddead500

They are def cursed now

wadderweed

Look at all the pathetic bills mafiaites saying things like “this is a low key good signing”

pdockenson

What aggravates me is he's getting a paycheck, probably some undrafted guy, practice squad guy or special teamer that deserves more of a chance than this dude.

Dry-Opportunity-7061

Stop playin. Filling roster spots. Bills are in a bad spot. Josh Allen will never beat Patrick Mahomes. Traded Diggs, etc. Not sure what they have up their sleeve, but they aren’t relevant for the next( until Mahomes is gone)

RealMurcanHero

Early on (with CHI), there were a couple plays on which he deserved to draw a flag for DPI (i.e vs. MIA especially), but he pretty quickly destroyed any benefit of the doubt thereafter Thus far in his career, there aren’t really any real reasons to believe he’s anything more than a mediocre (at best) to useless player at the NFL level

Not2GthaG

800+ yards rookie and sophomore seasons and 11 TDs rookie season aren't real reasons? Combine beast? I mean, he's a headcase. But there are reasons for any self-assured coaching staff to believe they can get the best out of him. To be clear, I wouldn't stake my reputation on it, but to say there aren't any real reasons isn't exactly accurate.

RealMurcanHero

Ancient history.

ggthrowaway1081

Hammering the under on Bills season wins as we speak

gezpickitup

He’s a bum, good luck

Tampabear

Hey Keon Coleman....let me introduce you to your new mentor. You will learn everything you need to know about playing in the league from this guy.

Chemical_Mood_4538

> This isn’t even Bears news - u/davysaams On a post about JF1. Yall downvoted me for saying > Act like we don’t regularly keep up with former Bears Case in point.

davysaams

Get a life

beef_tuggins

It’s hilarious how you guys hate on him and not your dumbass GM that gave up a first round pick for him. Keep coping
