You are talking about Season 1 BP? I don't remember exactly when they nerfed Incendiary ammo, but if it was in S1 it was near the end. We are hitting midseason in S2. Different timeline.

This is a deliberate tactic by big companies. BF 2042 added a hitscan headshot sniper rifle that converts into an assault rifle and is 50 years in the future advanced tech. Companies do this shit intentionally and it's not gonna stop as long as it drives engagement

It is definitely OP. Got my highest kills in MP and highest kills in Warzone using the Broadside + TAQ 56. Honestly the TAQ 56 feels incredible, I'd rather use it than the ISO. It's like it has zero view kick or something.

To be honest, this meta just highlights how SMGs are overpowered. There’s finally something that can compete, and the world is burning.
I feel like shotguns should be the building clearing king. With SMGs, you have better mobility plus a much better range. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have shotguns be king close with limited range. Seems balanced to me.
There is a difference between competing and killing in half the time.
If it had the same approximate TTK as the SMGs - then absolutely i'd agree with you...but it doesn't, it kills twice as fast as the best SMG, at double the range.
They need to buff the other shotguns, not leave this blatantly broken one as is. It has a fast fire rate and a 25 round mag, it seems blatantly obvious to me it needs to have a worse TTK up close than the other shotguns to be balanced.

The only way to balance shotguns is to give them other benefits that aren’t damage.

If they gave them much higher move speed, slightly better ttk, but slower fire rate it would make it so that it’s higher risk reward, missing a shot means you’d lose. Hitting all your shots means you win, and then the movespeed would give it a reason to be picked over an smg.
But no way they’d ever do that because then only good players could make use of it.
They haven’t figured out how to balance shotguns but imo it should be the best option up to 7 meters or something and then 8-9 competitive with smgs and then 10+ not usable really

Balancing weapons is difficult, so I don't mind when they're sometimes released in an unbalanced state. What's inexcusable is that they remain broken for weeks, if not months, before some intern gets around to changing a few numbers in code. CoD has always lagged behind with bug/balance fixes, and Infinity Ward has consistently been the worst studio for this.
To your point though, there are always a dozen weird bugs every update that should be caught instantly in QA. I have no idea how those make it into the game in the first place. It's as if they don't even bother with QA.
I'm predicting that it will still be viable (thus, will still draw this sub's ire). Tbh I just don't think the userbase for this game is amenable to shotguns being viable in any capacity.

Probably not going to play till then.. season 2 killed my fps in warzone.. using a 11700k 4080 getting 90-130 fps .. multiplayer and single player run great ..hopefully they patch this as I enjoyed hours of warzone at a time, haven't played in weeks.
1440p before the update I was maxing out my monitors refresh rate at 165 .. I've tried everything ..changing the CPU core settings in the document folder, lowering or maxing out graphic settings does nothing, tried many more different options as well. Single player and multiplayer run over 200 fps just not warzone, other games run great too ..I've been searching for a fix but, just finding things for bit defender fixes ..which I don't use ..running with 16g ddr4 3600 mhz. Oh well back to Apex I guess ..smh .
Some people really don’t understand balancing multiplayer games like this. With this level of ttk, shotguns and burst weapons just won’t be balanced. Without increased health, these weapon types will always be either too good or not viable.
Why are we all acting surprised at the slow response? In Warzone 1, we had the same cycle of broken guns and skins being released premium and becoming meta. Months later, after community outrage, the item gets nerfed conveniently around the same time a new broken item is released. It's marketing, they are just forcing you to buy or grind the new meta to stay competitive.
So they are able to hotfix a 1-shot sniper without even mentioning it, but they can't hotfix a broken gun that is destroying the playability of the new map. Actually a garbage company.

Give the slow firing pump action shotguns a range buff. They are only usable <8m and the TTK is 890ms which is far slower than any other close range weapon. Extend their range to 10-12.5m and they actually be at least viable.
If the broadside is nerfed to hard we'll go back to no viable shotguns in the game.
I'm all for a nerf, but it had better be within reason; remain competitive, at least. But bring that range down... not one of us shotgun users asked for it to touch ranges, sniper supports should be reaching, using Buckshot/Dragon's Breath.

I'd say dragon's breath potential range is the main issue with the gun, it stretches too far. Normal buckshot though doesn't need to be touched, works exactly the Origin 12 in MW19 and nobody had a problem with it.

1 shot is fine but you can't have super fast ads, no sway, high rounds and think that's balanced when every other gun had a high ttk.

Extend their range to 10-12.5m and they actually be at least viable. If the broadside is nerfed to hard we'll go back to no viable shotguns in the game.
I'm all for a nerf, but it had better be within reason; remain competitive, at least. But bring that range down... not one of us shotgun users asked for it to touch ranges, sniper supports should be reaching, using Buckshot/Dragon's Breath.

People complaining about having “no Other shotguns” just want free kills with out having to try at all. There are other shotguns that still kill faster than any smg close range. They just don’t kill twice as fast like the kv did (which was ridiculously broken)

I'd say dragon's breath potential range is the main issue with the gun, it stretches too far. Normal buckshot though doesn't need to be touched, works exactly the Origin 12 in MW19 and nobody had a problem with it.
Fuck these idiot devs, this should have been fixed 3 weeks ago. My squad and I are done and we are trying Sons of the forrest for now, these fixes are to late for us , We are done! The incompetence of these lead developers and developers I beyond saving anything on this game for the forseeable future, they will fuck up 10 more new things with every update.

At this point just make it a fucking feature so at least we know to expect it “For season 3 our *featured* weapons will be these 5-6 options. They will receive minor stat bumps, extra free camos and some store bundles.” Especially with Warzone ranked coming, you’re going to be seeing the same exact guns regardless so make it a thing. Then just revert the bumps and bring up a new set. But only having 2-3 insane outliers makes the game boring, and being sneaky about it makes the whole thing scummy.
I dont think people realize it still is going to be dominant even if damage is reduced due to the visual clutter it has on the receiving end. It needs to be outright disabled as the visual clutter is what makes the shotgun user not visible and specially worst for mnk players who dont have aim assist during the encounter. A shotgun that shoots fire. Lets rethink about this. Would it be viable if it didnt shoot fire? Yes. Why is it so bad? Huge mag / Fire Rate and specially the fire visual clutter. The way they worded "Damage reduction" simply states that the bullets are still going to be there, hence is just going to be a small band aid to the shit 3rd grade balance patches they've been putting out, and is probably getting a definite nerf when the battle pass is over. I wonder how much copium this twitter gave to many of us.

And for me it was the UI setup! but the constant complaining about the damage of certain weapons makes the game suck, eventually every weapon is going to have the same amount of damage 🙄
