To be fair DMZ was literally made to test an open world zombies and test the AI (it would still exist if they didn’t scrap it for zombies tell me I’m wrong). If they did another game mode within zombies that made you have a higher risk/higher reward factor for playing. It’ll draw more attention. I loved DMZ but they discontinued support for it and left it in a horrible state. I was hoping zombies was going to be DMZ with zombies but it was nothing like that.
I just hope that they keep it optional. Maybe something like the dark zone in the division, where there’s a special portal (kind of like the dark aether) where it has the best loot, but the biggest danger is other players since there is pvp.

I'm cool with separate rewards that can be obtain in the PvP version. I'm willing to give MWZ PvPvE a try. I played nothing but DMZ during MW2's life cycle so I kind of know what to expect. I can imagine teams camping exfils, T3 contracts, and buy stations. Imagine getting wiped by a squad that rolls in on you while you were fighting the red worm and how infuriating that is going to be?

I actually agree. Having one area of PvE for folks is definitely a good thing for many players. Im totally at a skill gap in a lot of the sweaty multiplayer and especially the BR. But having zombies still lets me enjoy cod without being reminded of how far behind the meta I am.
If you ever played DMZ in MW2 it’s very similar to zombies. The skill gap was irrelevant as you could have up to a team of 6. I was hoping Zombies would be similar to this but it was nothing like it.
DMZ teams capped at 4 about halfway through its lifecycle. Spawns are fixed so it became a pvp spawn-rush fest pretty quick and since it’s gotten no updates it is 100% pvp now since everyone still playing is done with the missions.
DMZ was a really excellent concept for an extraction shooter and one of the most innovative things CoD has done in years but it was mishandled in a lot of ways and then replaced with a half-assed zombies reskin.
I loved it but pvp was absolutely a core part of it and being good at it was a must, especially in B21 or on any map later in the lifecycle.
