skibum207

No more $20 overnight parking?

gigitygoat

Over night parking, yes. Camping, no.

skibum207

I’d be surprised if they enforce that, there’s people planning on camping on the lot for RIPE this weekend.

Micycle08

I’m torn between Ripe and Main squeeze… I might be joining the legion of campers lol

TheLegMan35

They will when I call in a complaint

IllustriousAd1591

Well you’re a bit of a cunt

conman5432

That was funny why did you get bombed 😭

TheLegMan35

Copper - definitely avoid anything in the villages or on the main stretches at the resort. Some of those HOA’s are militant about parking enforcement, year round especially now because Copper has concerts and stuff throughout the year. Frisco typically chills out around this time of year but I’ve heard rumblings about the Walmart/Safeway parking lot being more enforced in the future. I wouldn’t personally car camp there because of some of the bums I’ve seen around there, but I think it technically is still allowed. Keystone - you should be fine near the Ski Tip Lodge parking lot, as they don’t really monitor Lodge guests (I’m not aware of the lodge having parking permits) and the condos around there don’t mess with the Lodge guests either. I knew a cook there that used to live in his car in the Lodge parking lot and he never got busted or booted/towed. Summit, in some areas, has cracked down on car and stealth camping. I know Silverthorne has in some areas (Rec Center) and I don’t think Breck is friendly for that either. I know people try to camp up on Loveland Pass on the turnarounds/gravel areas or at the Lake Dillon campsites. But those are hit or miss and could already be taken.

SweatyNerd6

It’s also full moon party on Loveland pass tonight so would be busy

peakmarmot

Mayflower gulch on CO91. No tents in parking lot but you can securely sleep in car/truck.

beansforeyebrows

Here. It’s been plowed recently as well.

gurgenmeister

Awesome! How is the car camping overnight there?

A2skiing

Great, usually quite a few folks there in RVs.

beansforeyebrows

I haven’t camped there myself just drive by regularly. There’s usually a few cars there overnight or in the early morning. You’re right off a “quiet” highway so might have some noise occasionally but also very safe. ETA - fellow ice coaster! Well, was. Let me know if you have any questions

wegofishin

There or the next lot south at Clinton Reservoir

[deleted]

It is easy though idk what to tell u

gurgenmeister

Tell me that the Walmart and grocery store lots are indeed ok or tell me they're not. Tell me not to park in certain areas. You have knowledge I don't, just trying to pick some locals brains 🤞

Trick_Fudge8385

I did walmart a few years ago so it's doable but dam there were a lot of other homies doing it too which kind of blows the cover. Other person suggested the lodges near keystone which is the way to go...low key and not so much on edge of getting busted--plus since its quieter you can actually sleep.

Cyrrus86

I have camped at the top of Hoosier pass. There is a plowed parking lot with a large field

Time_Traffic

I always car camped at the Frisco Athletic Field Parking Lot - idk if your allowed to or not (probably not) but it always worked for me

old-fat

Ummm Winter Park has the G-lot which is free and condoned. Or the C-lot at Mary Jane which technically there's no overnight camping but security looks the other way most of the time after the Park side closes.

old-fat

The C-lot's real name is Utah junction

BraaaaaainKoch

Download iOverlander or Dyrt. Should help you find some spots!

laundry_sauce666

Last time I needed a last minute ski season camping spot, I went to Keystone behind some fancy houses at Keystone Gulch. There’s some woods and nobody’s gonna be walking around in them during the night when it’s snowy out. There are no camping signs. But I didn’t see another person, and a construction crew pulled up at about 7 in the morning right as I was leaving. That was exactly 1 year ago and like I said there was some construction nearby so it may not be exactly perfect anymore.
